One for the boys!

Evening All - we're half way through the week - woo hoo!

Well I'm in a much better crafty mood today...after my usual Wednesday night at Brownies and Guides I decided to sit at my craft desk and try a new card technique out. I needed a card for a boy for this week's challenge over at the Creative Cottage and I hope they don't mind that mine is one for a rather little boy!! Take a peek at the lovely Creative Cottage blog to see the gorgeous DT cards for some inspiration!

This is a shaker card that I've made for a baby boy. I saw an article in a craft magazine recently about shaker cards and decided to give it a go. I was actually surprised at how easy it is to make these fab cards!

All you really need is some white and coloured papers, some acetate, some seed beads and sequins or other small items to put in the shaker bit and lots of 3D sticky pads! Easy peasy!

You can make these gorgeous cards in all sorts of shapes......

Anyway, panic over - it looks like I might not have lost my crafty mojo after all! Thanks to everyone for their comments after my last grumpy post! Your comments are always so lovely and supportive.

Thanks for popping by my blog today,

Blooming Gorgeous!

Evening All! Hope you've had a good Monday! Aaarrgghhhhh!! My computer is driving me insane!! Its so slow - its almost as if its taunting me!! Right, thats my rant over with!!

Cupcake Craft Challenge has a lovely little challenge this week - the theme is Blooming Charming and they want to see projects that feature blooms and charms.....I have to admit I read it wrong to start with and missed off the charm all together....I can be so silly sometimes!! I only realised my mistake after I scanned the card in and started writing this post!!!!!

To be honest I feel like I've lost my crafting mojo at the moment....I have lots of great ideas (or at least I think I do), but I just can't seem to get them made. When I fianlly make a card it looks wrong! I'm hoping this is just a passing phase and I'll be my industrious crafty self again very soon!!!

This card is made using a free stamp that I've just got with a craft magazine. I found it quite hard to use, I think because its quite a small stamp. I found the whole process hard...from the stamping to the actual colouring!!

Oh dear...this hasn't been a good crafting evening and I think its time for bed!

Thanks for popping by today, I promise to be back to my positive self when you stop by next!!

Birthday Wishes!

Evening All...what a horrible wet evening this has turned into!! Where has all this rain come from?!?

I hope you've had a lovely weekend despite the not so great weather! A funny thing happened earlier when I was visiting my Sister and her hubbie....we went for a walk to feed the ducks on the river and when we came back there were police everywhere and the roads right by Lorna's flat were closed! Apparently there was a suspected unexploded bomb somewhere close by!!! We were stranded with only Jim's wallet and our phones as we'd all ventured out without our bags...last time I do that!! Everything seems fine again now, the roads are open and the police have all gone!! Very bizarre situation!

Anyway, I've just popped home for a bit and made this Birthday card

I love using this saying!

This card has been made to celebrate the Allsorts Challenge blog's first Birthday! You should pop over to their blog and see all the fab things going on! Congratulations ladies! I've also created this card for the challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge where they wanted to see projects including metal...my brads are metal! Take a peek at all the lovely DT cards here.

The sentiment was created on my computer (I'm thinking of treating myself to a brand new Mac soon) and the papers are all from my stash. I just love the backing paper with the blue spots, its so cute! The cupcake I made myself, I added a little sparkle using my trusty glitter glue!

Right, I'm off to make some more cards....and the bookmarks that I didn't make on Friday evening!

Cupcakes!

Morning All....what a lovely Saturday this is! I hope we keep the sunshine for a while!

Well, I'm still at home today, going to see Joe a bit later today and then I'll be back again tomorrow...so lots of time for crafting! Think I might pay a visit to Hobbycraft later today as I haven't been in ages. My knee has improved so much recently, its so nice to be able to drive again! Woo hoo!

This morning I got up, showered and made this cute card:

I'm entering this in several challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Someone Special!
Papertake Weekly - Shiny, Sparkly, Special!
ABC Challenge - U is for unused.....I've had this stamped image hanging around for ages!

Yes, its another easel card...you're probably bored of looking at them on my blog now! I think I'm going to do a bit of seraching for some other folds I can use. I've combined all my favourite things on this card...its pink and purple, its sparkles with glitter and gems, I got to use some of my stamps and of course its got cupcakes on it! Hee, hee!

I hope you're having a lovely weekend so far, thanks for popping by today and I'll see you soon!

Pretty Borders!

Evening All! Hope you've had a fab Friday!

I spent my Friday at the Mandarin Oriental in London again - work this time though! I had a pretty rubbish start to my day...by 8:30am I had already ruined two pairs of tights and turned up in the foyer of the hotel with toothpaste all over my cheek.....why oh why did I not look at myself in the mirror before?!? The day got much better however and my event went well. Woo hoo!

This evening I came home to a rare Friday at home (I'm usually at Joe's by now) and decided some crafting was in order...that and a large glass of wine! I decided to check out the challenge over on Bah! Humbug! this week.....they want to see punched borders....I recently got my new border punch and so think this is a fab challenge! I set to work and came up with this cheeky little chappie.....

The DT cards are all gorgeous, take a peek here!

I love making this little snowman, he's so simple to make and looks so cute! He's featured in my Christmas collection over the last two years! He is simply cut from white card, I make him a hat and scarf and a carrot nose out of scrap paper and give him googly eyes because that always makes me smile!

I used my new martha stewart punch for the borders - I love this pattern as it suits so many cards...a very good find! I have to say I also love making Christmas cards so I am pleased I found the Bah! Humbug challenge blog to get me started early this year!

Right, I'm off to make some beaded bookmarks now and maybe another easel card or two!

PS - have you stopped sniggering about me and my toothpaste cheek yet?!?

Fancy folds!

Morning All! What a lovely sunny morning!

Another really quick post this morning...it would have been longer, but its taking this stupid computer so long to do anything that I'm now running out of time!!

Over at the Creative Cottage this week they have got a fab challenge that fits in nicely with my new found love of easel cards! Their challenge is fancy folds! The DT cards are so gorgeous, take a peek here to see them.

So this is my card, inspired by a fab William Gladstone quote about tea! Everything is made using paper from my stash, I found the template for the teacups in a craft magazine.

Right, I really must go....I'll be back soon with more cards!

I survived!!

Brownie camp was fun...if a little cold and damp! The girls enjoyed their weekend away for their Alice in Wonderland themed pack holiday. I must be getting old though.....it took me ages to get over pack holiday this time!
Right, I have to be quick tonight...mum is waiting to use the computer! I have two cards for you, for two different challenges. First off I have this lovely Christmas pud card for the Bah! Humbug! Challenge.....the lovely ladies have asked to see projects featuring Christmas food and drink. Take a peek at the fab DT cards!

The sentiment is a little bit on the small side, but I wanted the main focus to be the delicious pudding!

My second card is for this week's challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenges where they want to see cards featuring buttons - I love buttons! The DT have created some lovely projects, take a peek here. For this challenge I decided to go with a sewing theme card.

The fab backing paper is actually wrapping paper that some on my Birthday pressies were wrapped in - a fab find by my fab sister Lorna!

Right, I told you this had to be quick!

I'm an addict!

Morning All!

Ok - I left you last night with every intention of going straight to bed...but that didn't seem to happen...instead I seemed strangely drawn to my craft desk inspired to try making yet another easel card! Ha, ha! I am going to pay for that decision this weekend when I have my Brownies running around me!

This card was made for the Cute Card Thursday challenge where they wanted to see projects for the boys or men in our life, I'm not that great at male cards but the DT have made some fab cards inspiration!

This cheeky chappie reminds me of my boyfriend Joe....not technically a handyman and Joe has much longer hair....but they both are covered in oil and have a lot of tools! Hee, hee!

I really enjoyed making this card and I think easel cards look fab! One question I was going to ask fellow questions is which markers they would recommend....I'm really into my stamping and want to invest in a decent set of markers but don't really know what to go for....any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Right, I'm off to work and then Brownie pack holiday so I wont see you until Sunday or Monday....I hope you have a lovely weekend whatever your plans...keep your fingers crossed for good weather for me!

My first easel card!

Me again.....I couldn't resist sharing my latest make with you all! I love all the gorgeous easel cards that crafters are making at the moment, so decided to give it a go myself.....

I really enjoyed making this card...as its my first one I stuck with what I know best.....pink and girlie! I've used Creative Cottage papers again (I love them!!) along with more pink paper from my stash....I'll be needing to go shopping to buy more pink paper soon!!

I also found a fab challenge from Daring Cardmakers....I'm not sure if I'm too late to enter this week because they do new challenges every Friday, but thought I'd enter and see what happens. The dare this week is to make an easel card...they'd like to see shaped ones...but that was a little beyond me this evening!! Check out the amazing DT cards here.

I know I always say that I'm pleased with my finished cards....but I really love this one!

Anyway, the cupcakes are baked and I'm packed ready for Brownie pack holiday...now all I need is a good night's sleep and fair weather this weekend!

Cute Sketch!

Evening everyone - hope you've all had a lovely day today!

I'm here with another card and today I promise there is no pizza sauce! Hee, hee! Today's card has been created using a fab sketch from Magical Crafts. The DT have created lovely cards, its nice to see how people use sketches differently.....take a peek here.

My card was created using some pink backing paper and some gorgeous floral paper that I got free with a crafting magazine. I cut the swirls out using my trusty cuttlebug (they are decoration on a party hat!) and I used a mini punch to create the flowers (to be honest I forgot the flowers originally - whoops!). I created the sentiment on my computer and made the little shoe out of more pink paper. I then added some sticky gems and some sparkly glitter glue!

I'm pleased with this one...its pink and purple...sparkles a lot and is very girlie!

By the way...I heard on the radio today that Johnny Depp spends the equivalent of £100 a day on scented candles!! I'm a huge Johnny fan (he's so gorgeous!), but thats a lot of money to spend on candles!! Maybe I heard the presenter wrong?!

Right....I've got to bake lots of cupcakes this evening in preparation for Brownie Pack Holiday this weekend so I better get going!

Cupcake and snowflakes!

Ok, before I show you the cards that I just made I want to share a very valuable lesson that I just learnt.....never, ever eat pizza at your craft desk!!!! Yes, I realise now how very silly I was being, and yes I managed to get pizza sauce on both of these cards!! Luckily they weren't finished yet and so I managed to avoid having the sauce as the main feature of the cards!!

Right, lesson over with.....I've made two cards this evening for two different challenges....first off is the fab challenge that has been set at the Creative Cottage this week...they want to see projects that feature food or drink. As you probably know by now I love cupcakes...I love making them for my cards, I love baking them and I love eating them!! Hee, hee!

I've used this sentiment before with cocktails, it seems that it works just as well with cupcakes! I've used some gorgeous papers from the Creative Cottage for the background and the cupcake is made out of paper from my stash. Cupcakes feature quite a lot in the DT cards, take a peek here to see their cute creations.

The second card I created for this week's challenge over at Bah! Humbug! where they wanted to see cards featuring snowflakes.......

I did think about having a pretty background and then having a big snowflake on top, but I decided when I finished stamping and punching that I really liked this simple effect. I've added a little glitter glue and a sentiment made on my computer. Take a peek here to see the lovely DT cards.

So, can you guess where the pizza sauce landed?? Hee, hee!

Right, I'm off to my Brownie meeting now...we've got pack holiday this weekend so need to make sure all the girls know what to bring with them....I've got my fingers crossed for good weather!!

A new post at last!!

Evening All! I hope you are all keeping well and if you're in the UK you had a lovely bank holiday weekend! It feels like an age since I last posted!!

I spent Friday and Saturday in Llandow with Joe who was competing in the 2nd round of the British Drifting Championships...he did really well again coming 18th...I'm so proud of him! We didn't get up to much else really....in fact I'm not sure where the rest of my weekend went!! My knee is finally starting to feel much better.....I can see the light at the end of the tunnel....its been a very long tunnel mind you!!

So, this evening I would like to share the following card with you....

I've created this card for three different challenges:

Sir Stampalot monthly challenge - butterflies and blossoms

I hope this card fits the bill for all three challenges, the DT for each blog have come up with some fab creations, click on the names above to see what they've created!

I've used a stamped image which I coloured with water colour pencils for my animal and blossoms, I created some handmade butterflies from paper for the butterfly requirement and I hope the image and sentiment create the theme of friendship. The gorgeous patterened paper used in the background comes from the Creative Cottage and is part of their fab May freebie - thanks Ladies!

Anyway, just a quick post this evening, I'll be back tomorrow with another card, but now my bed is calling!
