If the shoe fits...

Morning folks! Looks like another sunny day ahead of me today - lovely!

While I'm munching on my mini hot cross buns I thought I'd share with you a card that I made last night. Its a purple girlie card, using another new stamp from my Kanban sets and that fab polka dot paper that I love!

This stamp is rather large and so there wasn't that much room for papers behind it, but I'm pleased with this card and just love the sentiment. I've created this for the girlie challange over at Simon Says Stamp this week (you can make either a mother's day card or a girlie card). Check out their blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

Right, I'd better get my skates on....work is calling!

Bunny Card

Happy Wednesday folks! I hope you're all well today.

It's been a lovely sunny day here in Surrey....spring appears to be just around the corner! Inspired by the lovely sunshine I've created a cute little Easter card

Isn't that backing paper pretty?? The lovely layout is inspired by Arlana's fab sketch this week over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. The DT were given lovely bunny rabbit images to use on their cards this week, and so there is the added challenge of having a bunny rabbit on our cards. This cute little fellow is a free stamp I got with a magazine a couple of years ago. Pop by and see all the gorgeous DT cards!

Right, its that time on a Wednesday evening and Brownies is calling me...I'd better put my Guider top on!!

Thanks for stopping by today, its lovely to read all your encouraging comments.

Minature Madness!

Hello...me again...yes I have too much time on my hands this evening!

Anyway, I've spend the last hour creating some fab little cards, each one measures just 4inches by 4inches and they look so cute!! I bought another set of stamps at the show on Sunday which feature cute little birdies with balloons which you can add words to! So, I've been blisssfully stamping, colouring and sticking and here are my miniature creations!

I've used all kinds of backing papers for these cute cards, along with little punched flowers and sparkly gems. I think they're perfect for saying "hello" to someone!

My favourite card is one that I made using some embossed polka dot backing paper and the "Howdy doody" stamp...and I have found two embossing challenges that this little card is perfect for. Firstly Paper Sundaes has an embossing challenge and so does Paper Play...you can use either wet or dry embossing for both challenges...pop by the blogs and see all the fab DT cards.

Right, thats it from me tonight...I promise! Thanks for popping by!

Black and Red!

Hello Campers! Hope you're well today!

I've been playing with those new stamps of mine this evening and I've come up with the following card....it's not quite how I wanted it to look, but I had fun creating it!

I love these Kanban stamps, I think they're so cool! I've been practising my colouring with my Promarkers again...it's a bit dodgy today, but practice makes perfect! The checked backing paper is something I've stamped myself...hence the wonkiness! Then I created the black and gold polka dot paper using clear ink and cosmic shimmer...you should see the state of my fingers now!! The bunting is also a stamp that I got free with a magazine...I've cut the bunting out and attached it using 3D sticky pads.

This card is for the "It's a mum thing or just be girlie" challenge over at Papertake Weekly and the "it's your choice" challenge over at Paper Cutz Challenge.

Right...I'm off to practice my colouring some more! Thanks for popping by today.

Bingo!

Hello there...hope you're all well today!

I've had a lovely long weekend...I really enjoyed seeing Hairspray at the theatre last Thursday...I was singing and dancing in my seat! I spent yesterday at the Stitch and Craft Show at Olympia with my mum and Becca...we had a brilliant time looking around all the stands. I even saw Dawn Bibby...not that mum or Becca knew who she was! I got a fab new stamp set from Kanban that I wanted to use straight away.....

Isn't this stamp cute?! There is also a lady cooking and a lady having tea! Cupcake Craft Challege have a monochromatic challenge this week....and I decided pink was the way to go with this image! I also bought some Promarkers at the exhibition yesterday, and so this was the first image I coloured...the black ink has bled a little so think I need to use a different ink for stamping...but I'm pleased with the colouring...onwards and upwards!

I've also been inspired by The Shabby Tearoom Challenge this week where they are having a game of bingo! We can pick three elements for our card from their grid, as long as they appear in a row. I've gone with buttons, flowers and glitter....the glitter may not be obvious, but I've used it on my flowers and on the dress in the image.

Finally, I've been baking again...though I suppose thats not a surprise to you! I've taken the cake bites a stap further and created cake pops this week.....the lolly pop sticks aren't as chic as I would have liked, but its a start! These are vanilla and coffee flavoured cake pops, I either added icing swirls or dots, a little pink glitter or a handmade flower.

Thank you for popping by my blog today!

Birthday Wishes!

Evening All!

Hope you're all having a fab week...I'm happy...I decided to take a long weekend this weekend, so I am off Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday! Woo hoo! Lots of me time...for crafting and baking!

Well its Wednesday again....I can't believe we're already half way through March...its my Birthday in a month...I'm sure its not suppose to come around so quickly! Anyway...it's Wednesday so that means another fab sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday....and Arlana hasn't disappointed this week...

This is a fab sketch to use, pop over to the SWS blog and see all the gorgeous cards the DT have created using this fab sketch. My Birthday theme is inspired by Simon Says Stamp who have a "Happy Birthday" theme this week to celebrate Lorraine's Birthday. Take a peek at their blog too - lots of gorgeous cards here too!

As you know I love pink and couldn't resist using lots of it on this card! I love this pink-brown colour combo so much! The baking paper at the back has lots of lovely cakes on it and I thought it looked fab with my stamped cupcakes, which I'm embellished with lots of lovely glitter!

Just a quick post this evening as I want to try and get an early night...I'm seeing Hairspray at the theatre tomorrow night after work...can't wait!

Flowers for Mum

Morning Campers!

Just a quick post from me this morning....but I couldn't resist sharing this cute little card with you! This card was inspired by the "Flowers for Mum" challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week.

This card actually measures just 4inches by 4inches - its soooo cute!!

I've used two strips of paper, a little die cut terracotta pot and some handmade flowers. The tag says "for mum" and so could be used for a Birthday, Mother's Day or "just because" card.

Take a peek at the SCSC blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards this week!

Hope you have a good Tuesday and thank you for popping by today.

Sweet Treats

Happy Monday! Hope you're well and had a lovely weekend!

I had such a lovely time at the Squires Kitchen Cake Decoration Exhibition on Saturday, I spent all day there with Rafina...we saw amazing cakes, watched some fab demos, bought some new baking goodies and were generally really inspired. It was awesome!

Tonight I have a fab, bright card to share with you....it just makes me smile when I look at it!

I made this card for two challenges...firstly Cupcake Craft Challenge's challenge is "Up in the Air" with optional green. I'm quite into bees on cards at the moment, and I couldn't resist using Lenny dressed as a bee for this challenge...he's so cute! The second challenge I'm entering this card in is the "show us your green" challenge over at Stamp Fairy....I hope I've used enough green! I've used a plain yellow backing paper, along with some pretty green flowery paper. I've highlighted the flower centres with a little glitter glue. I've coloured Lenny and added him to the card with 3D sticky pads, I've also used some glitter glue on his wings! Pop by both blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards.

Cupcake Craft Challenge also has a DT call this week, stop by their blog for more details!

Do you remember I shared those fab chocolate cake bites with you last week? Well, I've been in the kitchen again and I've been a little bit more brave this time...instead of balls I made mini cupcakes!

I've also developed the recipe a little, making them slightly less sweet and the cake is less squishy! I made vanilla and strawberry ones....and so far the feedback has been really positive. I've ordered some lollypop sticks, so next time I make them, they will be proper cake pops!

Thanks for stopping by today and thank you to everyone for their lovely comments, you always make me smile when I see them.

Happy 3rd Birthday Cute Card Thursday!

Happy Friday everyone!

I don't normally post on a Friday, but Joe went out for a bit this evening and I decided it was time for some cheeky crafting! I popped over to Cute Card Thursday's blog earlier to discover it's their third Birthday - thats a lot of fab challenges! To celebrate their Birthday the challenge this week is Birthday cards, with the added challenge of making it a card for a three year old! Here is my card:

The lovely layout for this card comes from the sketch challenge over at Stamp Fairy this week. I enjoyed using this sketch and decided to use my favourite Stamp Fairy character Kasi! I used lots of gorgeous pink backing paper, along with some lovely white flowers and lots of sparkly gems.

Take a peek at both of these blogs to see some gorgeous DT cards.

I'm off to Squires Kitchen's annual cake decorating, chocolate and sugarcraft exhibtion tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it. There are going to be lots of displays and demonstration and plenty of inspiration...watch this space for lots more yummy treats!

Thanks for popping by today,

Cherries Everywhere!

Hi there, thanks for popping by today.

First off I want to say thank you to everyone for their kind comments earlier this week, its been a tough couple of weeks and it all kinda got to me on Monday. I am touched by the support of everyone - thank you.

I've had a lovely evening with the Brownies and the Guides, plus I made a lovely card and experimented with some new baking! What a packed evening! I'll show you my card to start with....The Penny Black at Allsorts challenge this month is "Welcome Spring" and I decided to celebrate the fact that things are starting to grow in the spring sunshine and I'll be able to do lots of yummy baking with fresh fruit over the coming months! To see how the PB at Allsorts DT are welcoming spring pop over to their blog.

The lovely layout for this card is based on Arlana's sketch this week over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I enjoyed using this sketch and found it worked for my cherry theme quite well! On the original sketch there is a big flower where my cherry is sitting! Don't forget to take a peek at the SSW blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

I love this PB image, I think its sooo cute! I wanted some plain cherry backing paper to match it, but couldn't find any in my stash....so I got creative and made some myself! I used plain white card, inked up my thumb in red ink and set about creating my own cherries! I then added a little green pen for the stalks and leaves! I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I'm also going to enter this card in the "anything goes" challenge over at Simon Says Stamp challenge blog.

Just before I log off I want to show you a sneak peek of the baking I've been doing this evening. These cute little balls are in fact cake bites! I've recently stumbled upon the bakerella website and fallen in love with the gorgeous little sweet treats that are featured. So this evening I decided to give them a go....to be honest I've not coated them in the correct stuff...I've just used chocolate here, but they look fab and I'm really pleased with them! I'm going shopping this weekend for all the correct ingredients, and I'm hoping to make little mini cupcake bites next!

Thanks for popping by today and thanks for all the support.

The Good, the bad and the ugly!

Hello there - Happy Monday!

Right...I'm going to start off with the good...this is a card inspired by the theme over at the Shabby Tea Room this week..."luck of the Irish"....they'd like to see green cards!

I know there isn't any four leaf clovers, but it is green! I was asked to make a Birthday card featuring a chameleon and I'm quite pleased with this little fellow! Hope the Shabby Tea Room ladies like him too!

Now for the bad...and I'm warning you it is bad! Have you ever got to a point in life where you start thinking...I just want to get off?!? Well, I think I'm there right now! Too much is happening and I think my little head might just explode! In the meantime it seems that maybe my creative side has imploded as I created this not so fab card this evening...

This card is inspired by this week's sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday...yes I know I'm late this week! Sorry Arlana - I haven't really done your lovely sketch any justice this week!

I also hear you asking "why so many polka dots Wedgie?" ...well that's inspired by the pink polka dot challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week. I normally love polka dots, but I think I went a bit crazy here, maybe I should have stuck to the one backing paper!! Or maybe its that blue ribbon...what possessed me?!? I'm really not keen on this card and I wasn't going to share it with everyone, but hey...I spent time making it so thought it deserved an airing!!

Finally the ugly...well to be honest these aren't that ugly, they're just messy...but I didn't want to name the post - the good, the bad and the messy! I've been baking this evening...this time I've made some yummy biscuits. They've got a delicate almond flavour and the icing is lemon to cut through the sweetness of the biscuit. I had a lot of fun decorating them and they taste delicious!

Right, I'm going to clean up the kitchen now...there is icing everywhere!

Thanks for popping by today, Wedgie xxx

Spring is in the air

What a lovely day it is today....it might be cold out there, but the sun is shining and that always makes me smile! I hope you're having a lovely weekend wherever you are in the world today!

I have a card to share with you which is inspired by colours of spring...blossom pinks, fresh greens and sunny yellows....

I've used a patchwork background, made up of three different papers (two plain and one patterned), on top of that I've added my stamped image. As you all might know I love cupcakes and so its probably not a surprise to see them on my card! I think the stamped image really compliments the cupcake backing paper that I've used.

I've coloured the image using some pastels...something I haven't done before as you can probably tell! It was a bit messy and I think I need a bit more practice!

I'm going to enter this in several challenges:
Secret Challenge Saturday Crafter  - patchwork background
Sir Stampalot Challenge - spring is in the air - colour combo
Papertake Weekly Challenge - anything goes
Cute Card Thursday - signs of spring - I've picked colours

I hope this card makes you smile!

Something a little bit different

Morning!

The challenge over at Stamp Fairy this week is one to get our creative juices running...the challenge is "anything but a card" and the DT have created some fab projects for inspiration.

After thinking for what felt like ages I decided to keep it simple and create a little bookmark.

I love this brown and pink spotty card, the pink spots have got glitter on to make it really girly. I've then added some pink card on top, which I have edged with little white "stitches" and three pink gems for a little sparkle. I've coloured and attached Kasi at the bottom.

Finally I put a hole in the top and threaded some pink ribbon, tied in a bow. I think this makes a really girly bookmark, which makes me smile whenever I look at it!

I've also decided to enter this in the "anything but square" challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenges this week.

Do pop over to both of these blogs this week to see the gorgeous DT creations.
