Dead Impressed!

Hello there,

Happy Saturday! I hope you've had a wonderful week.

So, I have to say I am a little impressed with myself....our theme for this week's challenge over at Sweet Stampin is transport....and without even thinking I've managed to create myself a masculine transport themed card. Now I know for some of you wonderful crafters that's probably quite a normal thing....but for me....Queen of the girly cards...to not automatically reach for the pink and purple papers is quite an achievement! Hee, hee!

So, what does my transport themed card look like I hear you ask....well here you go....

Sweet Stampin DT card - Theme - Transport

I've gone with a brown colour pallet for this card, with a hint of green and red. My mini is coloured with my Promarkers and I have added a little faux stitching. This mini actually looks quite like my own first car, which was an old beat up brown mini!

Wow - what an amazing weekend!

Hello there,

I hope you are well and have had a lovely week.

I'm here with a new challenge from My Time to Craft, but before I tell you about that I just wanted to share with you what I got up to last weekend!

On Saturday I indulged in the most wonderful afternoon tea - it has a science theme, which sounds a bit odd....but take a look...its pretty cool....

Science afternoon tea - Ampersand Hotel

Everything looked fantastic, but also tasted amazing! For more photos and the whole review, pop by my afternoon tea blog!

On Sunday I went to the Country 2 Country festival at the O2 in London. Now, its a little known fact that I really enjoy country music (having been brought up listening to it!), and I am particularly passionate about Brad Paisley - who happened to be headlining on Sunday!

I had amazing seats...just 8 rows from the front, here is my view.....

The concert was amazing....Brad was on form and I sung my heart out! But the fun didn't stop there! On Monday evening I was lucky enough to attend a special BBC recording with Brad at the Radio Theatre in the BBC Broadcasting House. It was two amazing hours of Brad and three of his songwriters, talking about the songs and singing! This time I was just four rows from the front.....

The lady who I think was sitting behind me took this fab photo! I still can't believe I was lucky enough to be part of this recording, it was definitely the highlight of all my musical experiences so far!

Anyway, back to the business at hand....and this week I have some sad news as I have decided to step down from the My Time to Craft DT.....I have been part of this fab DT for ages now, and its been a wonderful experience...but life is getting in the way at the moment and unfortunately something has to give. I'm sad to make this move, and would like to thank Shell and the lovely DT ladies for all their support.

So, without further ado....my last challenge over at My Time to Craft is "Mothers Day or Special Lady". As you know I love afternoon tea and so does my mum...so this seemed like an appropriate theme for my card....

I've gone with a lovely fresh green for this card, adding a splash of detail with my art deco inspired backing paper. My image is printed and then I have added a hint of colour with my Promarkers.

I hope you have fun with this challenge!

Charming!

Hello there!

I'm back again with a new challenge from My Time to Craft and this week we'd like to see your projects featuring a charm.

Now this is something that I don't really use on my cards, not sure why really. When I found out about this theme I decided to have a look through my stash and I found the cutest needle and thimble charms that go perfectly with my sewing digi images.....

I also found this fab backing paper that reminds me of thread when I am sewing! I have matched the patterned paper with some pale blue paper and a splash of yellow paper. My image has been printed and I have added a little colour with my Promarkers.

For more charm inspiration pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog and take a peek at all the fab DT cards!

If you are looking for something a little bit different to read too, have you seen my afternoon tea blog? Lots of scrummy photos and reviews - plus March is tea month and so we have lots of tea articles! Tea With Me and Friends - perfect reading with a nice cup of tea and a cake!

A card for that special lady.....

Hello there,

I hope you are well today and have had a fab week!

I'm back today with a new challenge from Sweet Stampin. This week we'd love to see your cards for Mother's Day...or for a special lady. Now maybe rather predictably my card features some cakes......

....rather a lot of cakes! Hee, hee!

Now there is a really good reason behind these cakes and the sentiment, as its become tradition that my sister and I treat mum to afternoon tea each day on Mother's Day. In fact that's where our obsession with afternoon tea first began....I can still remember the first tea we indulged in at The Savoy. Little did I know then the passion it would ignite....one that would lead to me writing a blog dedicated to the art of afternoon tea!

For more inspiration pop by the Sweet Stampin DT blog to take a peek at Team Abi's gorgeous DT cards! While you're there you can also find out about our fab sponsors....

While we're talking about Team Abi I must tell you about my excitement this weekend! Tomorrow I am going to the Country 2 Country event at the O2 in London....and the lovely Abi will be there too! In fact we're sitting in the same row! I am soooo excited! There are lots of country stars appearing...but the head liner and the reason why we are soooo excited is Brad Paisley! I can't wait!

Brrr....It's cold outside!

Hello there!

Happy Hump Day - I do love Wednesdays....the weekend is in sight again!

I'm here today with a new challenge from Christmas at Sweet Stampin......this month we'd like to see your Christmas cards featuring the theme "it's cold outside". So many possibilities with this theme!

I found a super cute new image called "wrong hats" which is a Lilyboo image at Cuddly Buddly......

See....I told you it's a cute image!

To go with my cold outside theme I picked some icy blue backing papers. My little penguins are coloured with my Promarkers and I have added a little bit of sparkle to their hats with my Promarkers.

Frame It!

Hello there!

Happy Saturday! I hope you've had a lovely week.

This week I am back with a new challenge from My Time To Craft - the title of this week's challenge is "Frame It!" and we'd like to see your images framed in some way.

My card was created for a friend who asked me to create a bespoke birthday card for one of her friend's who likes budgies.....

Hee, hee! I found this fab image after scouring the Internet for budgie images....I love the fact that hes a little comical! I have coloured him with my Promarkers using a photo of a real budgie as a guide. I have framed my image with a light blue border, punctuated with that lovely bright blue stripe. I have also added small faux stitches as a border to the image (if you peer really closely you'll see them!).

Cats and Dogs!

Hello there,

Me again! This time I am back with a fab new challenge from My Time to Craft!

This week we'd love to see your projects featuring cats, dogs or maybe a combination of both! If you've popped by my blog before you may well recognise my image.....

I love this stamp...I think those cats are so cute, I always imagine them singing altogether!

My card has been coloured with my Promarkers, and I've gone with a green and brown colour combo.

For more cats and dogs inspiration pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog and see the fab DT cards have been created this week.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

I have two little cats myself....they will be a year old in April and we have owned them since last summer. If you haven't met them before, this is Steve (the grey one) and Tinker....

To be honest they are much bigger now (I'm such a sucker for kitten photos!), but they are still just as cute!

Lets get cute!

Hello there!

Happy Saturday! I hope you are keeping well and have had a lovely week.

Last weekend I went to an afternoon tea masterclass at One Aldwych hotel in London....it was such a good experience! We got to indulge in a lovely breakfast and an afternoon tea, plus we spent several hours in the hotel's kitchens with Head Chef Dominic Teague. Dominic showed us how to make several different afternoon tea treats and we got to pipe and decorate macaroons and eclairs. Read all about our fab morning on our afternoon tea blog.....but I thought I'd share with you some of the treats I piped....

I am so proud of those macaroons!

Anyway, enough afternoon tea chat...I'm here today with the fab new challenge from Sweet Stampin! This week we have a lovely theme for you.....we want to see your CUTE creations!

I decided to explore the Cuddly Buddly website for an image for this challenge. Cuddly Buddly is our monthly sponsor, offering our monthly winner a fab £10 voucher to spend.....and I know you'll spend it really easily!

Here is my card.....

Isn't he wonderful? The image and the sentiment are actually two different images from Cuddly Buddly that I have printed, coloured and stuck together. The sentiment is stuck flat to the card, and the teddy bear is stuck on with 3D sticky pads. Both the sentiment and image are coloured with my Promarkers.

I then decided to go with a blue background.....full of polka dots and three cute buttons!
