Calling all book worms!

Hello there!

Me again! So....has the the Easter Bunny paid you a visit yet??

Soooo...I'm back with the fab challenge from My Time to Craft....and this is another one that I love! We'd like to see you use either a book or a newspaper in your project somewhere.

So I decided to have a think about what kind of text I'd like on my card...then it came to me....a recipe book! As some of you know I love my recipe books rather too much and so I decided to photocopy a page for this card rather than tear a page out!

I really like this card and thoroughly enjoyed making it.

The recipe is for some brownies, and I think it goes really well with my super cute image and sweet Birthday sentiment. The image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I've used some gorgeous baking themed backing paper that I discovered recently. The prefect Birthday card for the baker in your life!

Feeling oh so girly

Good Morning! Happy Easter Weekend!

I hope the Easter Bunny has paid you a visit....or maybe he is still to pop by?? I am having an Easter themed crafternoon tea with my lovely girly friends this weekend....Anika, Becca, Sheree and Lorna will all be there. We're going to have lots of Easter treats...we are going to do some Easter crafts....and mum is laying an Easter Egg hunt for us! Yes, we're all grown ladies in our 30s.....no we're not too old to chase around the place hunting for eggs...plus mum does the best riddles!

Anyway, today's challenge over at Sweet Stampin is just up my street....and really rather fabulous! Thats because the challenge is "Girly"! So what are you waiting for...get those girly papers out....lots of glitter....anything that screams "I'm a girl and I love it!!".

I've even purchased a fab new stamp for the occasion.....

This fab image is from Digi Stamp Boutique....isn't she a sweetie! After the week I've had I think I'd like to spend the whole weekend in the tub! I've coloured my image with my Promarkers, and I've been trying to experiment with my shading.

So....I got all my favourite girly things out for this card...some polka dots, some flowers....lots of glitter and pink! Oh and some bubbles...both the bath tub kind and the drinking kind! I think the only thing I've missed is some chocolate or maybe the odd cupcake??

Well and truely out of my comfort zone!

Good Morning! Happy Saturday!

I hope you've had a lovely week and are ready to enjoy your weekend!

This is a scheduled post as I am currently on a coach somewhere in the UK travelling back from the Alfie Boe concert that I accompanied my mum to last night! I'm not really a fan, but mum wanted to go and so I said I'd go too!!

So.....I thought last week's challenge at My Time to Craft was difficult because I really don't many Easter images (I bet you are all sick of that cute little bunny now!!)....but when I saw the challenge this week I nearly fell of my chair!!

Our theme for this week is Gothic.....now as you can probably tell just from looking at my blog...I'm really not a gothic girl! I really had to think about what a gothic card would look like and resist the urge to add some pink!!

Here's what I came up with....

I've gone with a different sized/shaped card this week...not sure why...I just fancied a change! When looking through my Pollycraft images I came across this Steampunk image that I thought looked quite "gothic"....I then decided on my black, red and grey colour combo. I've coloured my image with my Promakers and then I decided to keep the background simple...using just plain black paper and that gorgeous red and white flowery paper. I think this hits the spot!

For more gothic inspiration pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog and take a peek at all the gorgeous DT cards!

This time its a chick!

Hello there!

Soooo...its Wednesday night...I've been to work...I've been to Brownies...I'm at mum's and I suddenly got the urge to make a card! What's a girl to do when she's away from her craft desk, but wants to make a card?? Luckily I have my laptop with me and so have a selection of digi images to choose from....so the image was no problem...but what about the rest of my crafty items??

Well....mum actually has a lovely supply of items in her "Brownie" cupboard....so I decided to raid it! I found some card blanks and some pretty papers.....so I decided to whip up a quick card....

Please ignore the wonky cutting...the one thing I haven't got here is a paper guillotine!! Whoops! Apart from the wonky cutting and slightly dodgy colouring thanks to the blunt colouring pencils I found in the "Brownie" cupboard, I am quite pleased with this little cutie!

After a weekend full of Easter bunny cards made with the same stamp I decided to treat myself to some Easter digi images from DigiStamp Boutique....I bought this little chick and a similar square with a bunny! The image has been coloured with the previously mentioned colouring pencils!

I've even attempted a little bit of decoupage on the wing and the flower. There were no 3D sticky pads to be found here...but there was some sellotape which I have folded in half several times. It kinda has the desired effect!!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - Easter treats
Simon Says Stamp - Easter/Spring
DigiStamp Boutique - monthly competition

More Bunnies!

Hello there...I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

My Saturday was just lovely...a purely indulgent day! Joe is drifting this weekend, so I'm home alone. Sooooo...I decided to try out the new tearoom in Farnham called The Vintage Cake House. In fact I've been trying to go there for ages, but its so popular that I never seem to get a table...until today!! I arrived early.....and yes I managed to get myself a table! I have to say its a rather pretty place to have tea....complete with wonderful china, delicious cakes and lovely staff! It may have only been 11am when I arrived...but I decided that its never too early for a cream tea!! And I can confirm that this was the correct choice.....

Yes, that scone is huge...but more importantly..it was warm and rather yummy!

If anyone happens to be in Farnham I would really recommend a visit! Service comes with a smile and the rest of the cakes looked amazing too....I'll be going back again soon!

Anyway, high on my mid-morning sugar rush I then paid a visit to my favourite antiques shop....big mistake!! After rather a long time wandering around the various rooms I treated myself some "new" old china and a lovely set of teaspoons! Whoops! I then spent the rest of the afternoon in the kitchen....today I have Lorna, Becca and Alex visiting me and so I decided I need to get my bake on and make some tasty treats of my own (photos to follow!).

What a lovely Saturday!!

I also managed to squeeze in a little card making you'll be pleased to hear! I have come across another springtime/Easter card....and so I thought I'd give my cute Easter bunny yet another outing....I really need to buy some more Easter stamps!!

I've gone with soft pastel colours for this card, perfect for springtime I think! I've kept it simple, using just two papers - the plain blue and the cute striped paper. My bunny has been coloured again with my Promarkers. Then I decided to add some embellishments....I've gone with a pretty white ribbon, a polka dot bow and a lovely cream coloured button.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Di's Digi Challenge - Springtime/Easter
I Love Promarkers - ribbons and bows
Allsorts - 1,2,3 challenge (1 image, 2 papers, 3 embellishments)
Cute Card Thursday - anything goes

Pop by all these fab blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week!

So, I mentioned that the girlies are visiting me today...thats because we are off to a wine course this afternoon! Hee, hee....I wonder how much we'll actually remember after the course?? Luckily its only a five minute walk back to my house afterwards!!

Bunnies everywhere!

Hello there...

Me again! This is my second post today....if you want to see my Sweet Stampin DT post please scroll down.

If you pop by the Sweet Stampin post after looking at this card you might notice something a bit similar! Yes, its that cute bunny rabbit again!

Our theme at My Time to Craft this week is "Bunnies"....and if you saw my earlier post that I don't have many easter themed images and so when I saw this challenge theme I decided to use the bunny stamp again...

This time I've gone with a pretty pink and blue colour theme, with that gorgeous flowery backing paper. I've coloured my image with my Promarkers, opting for a soft grey colour this time. Then I decided I wanted to add something to make it a bit "eastery"....so I made two easter eggs out of paper and decorated them with some pink ribbon.

Easter Wishes

Hello there!

Happy Saturday! I hope you've had a lovely week.

So, today its time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin and this week we'd like to see your Easter themed cards. Now I have to admit when I see the theme "Easter" I do shudder ever so slightly! I know it comes around every year, and I know that I'll need to make Easter cards every year.....but I still do not have many easter themed stamps!!

Some of you may have seen this image before.....I probably used it last year.....

I've used a brown card blank for this card, and topped it with pretty pastel coloured papers. I wanted the card to have a spring time feel and I think these papers do a very good job of that! I added some pretty gingham ribbon and finally a lovely easter egg basket topper. Yes, its shop bought....but I think its so pretty with those colourful eggs and bit of bling!

Christmas with no red or green!!

Ho, ho, ho....Happy Wednesday!

I hope you're having a fab week...why the festive feel I hear you ask...well its time for another challenge over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin! This month we'd like to see projects that feature no red or green....now this might sound simple...but be warned...do not overlook the images in your backing papers! I am speaking from experience as my original DT card for this challenge had a brown and white colour theme to it.....until I realised that I'd used backing paper covered in robins...complete with their red breasts! Doh!!

Anyway, here is my card for this month's challenge.....

In some ways I'm quite glad that I had to go back to the drawing board as I actually prefer this card to the first one I created!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and then I've created my background with a collection of blue papers, both patterned and plain. Finally I added my sentiment and some faux stitching to the edge.

All style and no substance!

Hello there...hope you've had a good day!

Mine has been full of meetings....I have so meetings at the moment, but that gives me so little time to actually do the work inbetween the meetings! Silly really!!

Anyway, for all you yummy mummies in the UK I hope you enjoyed your Mothering Sunday and I hope you were spolit rotten. We took mum for her annual Mother's Day afternoon tea in London (an expensive tradtion that we started by accident years ago!!). This year we took mum to a certain 5 star hotel which has a Mad Hatters afternoon tea on offer....it looked brilliant and we were so excited to go.....

However, I'm afraid it was a sad case of style over substance! Everything looked so good, and there was a lot of attention to detail. The menu was presented in a copy of Alice in Wonderland, the teas were in minature perfume bottles and the sugar cubes were in a musical box. Shame that they didn't give us enough tea strainers....or spoons...and forget to tell us that the herb butter was in fact garlic butter! They also left us sitting there for ages when we first arrived...after informing us that we only had the table for two hours! When they did finally bring us our tea they managed to mix them all up! The food was questionable...but thats a matter of personal taste rather than anything else....but the service was awful!! We'd never go back and actually we were quite pleased when our two hours were up!

Here is Lorna sampling one of their themed delights...

Not exactly the face you should be pulling at afternoon tea!

Anyway, we had a lovely time anyway....we giggled a lot!

If you're in the UK you'll know that just as we thought spring had sprung, winter has decided to put in an appearance again...it's freezing!! Thats what make's this evening's card a little bit funny...as I was inspired by all the "spring time" challenge that are about at the moment.....

I'd love to be in a warm field full of daisys at the moment, wearing one of my vintage dresses and my flip flops...instead I am wrapped in so many layers, sat in front of the heater! Hee, hee!!

Anyway, my sentiment has been stamped and coloured with my Promarkers. I have then created a fresh spring time background with a pretty yellow paper and that gorgeous daisy patterned paper. I think this makes a very pretty thank you card!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Nothing like a cuppa!

Hello there...Happy Saturday....I hope you've had a lovely week!

Sooooo....we have a fab challenge for you this week at My Time to Craft....its one of those themes that I always love to see on a challenge blog. This week's theme is "food and drink"...you can create anything as long as there is some food or drink in the image.

Now usually I'd go with a cupcake image...you all know me, thats an obviously choice! But this time I decided to do something a little bit different....

Ok, probably not too different from the type of cards you'd expect to see on my blog.....but at least there are no cupcakes to be seen (although she is probably holding a cupcake in the hand we can't see!!).

I've coloured my cute image using my Promarkers....and then I got really girlie with my backing papers and embellishments! I'm really pleased with how this card has turned out, it really reminds me of springtime with the soft colours and cute flowers everywhere.

Up, up and away....

Hello there...well we've made it...it's finally Friday evening!

Its been a long week...I had a meeting in Reading on Monday morning and I spent all day Wednesday in Cardiff at another meeting. I'm so pleased that the weekend is finally here and I can stay in one place for a while! I'm quite excited actually as I am going to see the Russell Kane perform his new comedy act in Aldershot this evening with Joe, my sister Lorna and her hubbie. I'm cooking us all dinner and then off to the show, then they are staying with us in Farnham.

Anyway, before they all arrive I had a little time to make a quick card.....

Its not my usual type of card I know....there is no pink or purple....or cupcakes to be seen! I was quite pleased with it until I coloured the stamped image (I think it looked better in black and white) and I added the orange bunting (I'm not very good at bunting!!).

The layout is inspired by the fab sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week....

Lots of pink!

Hello there...yes another day, and another card from me!

Hope you're having a good week so far. I'm actually in Cardiff today, as I have a work meeting there so this is a sheduled post!

After my girlie card yesterday I decided it was time for some more girliness...this time featuring lots of pink!

Told you there was a lot of pink! This is definitly a card for a girl!

I have used a combination of pink papers, both patterned and plain for the background, on top of this I have added some pretty lace and a cute mini doillie. I've added my image which has been coloured with my Promarkers and a sentiment made on my computer - both of which I have backed with some plain pink paper. Finally I added my blingy gem stones and a lot of sparkle to the image and the doilie using my Stickles!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge - sparkle (I entered one card yesterday, but this one is much better!)

Feeling a bit girlie....

Hello there...Happy Tuesday!

I hope you are well today! Look at me with yet another post....Joe has been spending a lot of time in the garage recently (drift season is about to start and he has cars to get ready)...this means I can spend more time crafting!

I made this card last night while I was in a real girlie mood (I had one of my friends over for dinner and we had a good old gossip)! I was inspired by the fab photo which is The Pink Elephant's challenge theme this week.....

What a pretty bed! I just want to climb in there right now! I also love this cute colour combo, yellow and grey goes together so well and makes for a very pretty card!

Anyway, the combination of my girlie mood and this gorgeous photo led me to make this card....

This is a new stamp that I bought a little while ago and I haven't used yet. Some of you might recognise the pattern though as its made by Kanban...who also make those gorgeous cake/cup stamps that I love so much!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers, and added a little sparkle with my Stickles to the top of the bath and to the towel (it hasn't come out very well on the photo, but its there I promise!). I then used a combination of plain grey and yellow papers and that gorgeous patterned paper. I have added some faux stitching...I kinda wish that was in white now!

I've left the sentiment quite vague as I thought it could make a lovely Birthday card or a Mother's Day card...or for anyone in your life who needs some R&R!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Hello there...Happy Monday!

Well I am a happy bunny this morning, because I get to join the fab Love to Create design team once again as a Guest Designer. Thank you ladies for having me back again...its an honour to design a card for your fab challenge blog!

So, the challenge this week is to pick two of the following elements to include on your card....you can pick from die-cuts, pearls, ribbon, distressing and/or sentiment. We're spolit for choice with all those elements!!

I was lucky enough to be given a fab Bugaboo Stamp digi image to play with, I want to say a big thank you for the digi image as its sooooo cute!

So with further ado here is my card.....

Told you the image was cute....and right up my street too!!

I've coloured my teacups with my Promarkers and then added a combination of pink and brown papers/elements to finish the card.

I have used pink flowery ribbon and the cute sentiment for the challenge (there is also a bit of distressing there too!!).

A sketch....some cakes and a new puppy!

Hello there! Happy Sunday!

Hope you've had a lovely weekend....I had a fab day with my mum and my aunty. It was lovely to spend a couple of hours just drinking tea and relaxing...and of course eating some homemade cakes....

We had a selection of sandwiches and some mini quiches. Then we washed that down with some chocolate tarts topped with raspberries....some vanilla cupcakes, some coffee cupcakes topped with walnuts and mum provided some delicious marble cake.

Phew! It was all so tasty...do you fancy a close up...

After all those sweet treats I had to go out for a long run this morning!

Anyway, I must apologies to the lovely Sweet Sketch Wednesday ladies...as everytime I enter one of their fab sketch challenges I seem to have lots of photos of cakes to post too!! I'm sorry if I've runied anyone's diets or left anyone with rumbling tummies after visiting me today!

Speaking of Sweet Sketch Wednesday...here is the fab sketch that we have this week...

When I saw this I wasn't 100% sure how much I was going to enjoy using it...but when I combined it with the "Great Outdoors" challenge that Stamping Sensations have this month I soon got cracking!

I have to say that I love being outdoors....and now that we have moved to this lovely house in Farnham I finally have my own garden! There is a veggie patch that needs digging, a lovely big flower bed and three cute fruit trees. I can't wait for the springtime to come along!

Inspired by this passion I have created the following card:

Isn't she cute??

I've coloured my digi image with my Promarkers and then I have backed her with a combination of green and flowery papers. I have added some faux stitching to both the image and the sentiment in green pen and finally added some dinky pink gems.

For more inspiration pop by the Sweet Sketch Wednesday and Stamping Sensation blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week!

Finally I wanted to introduce to you someone very special....my sister has a new puppy......

This little lady is called Gertrude (or Gertie) to her friends! And here she is making herself at home in my chair! She is only 14 weeks old and she is incredibly cute!

Well thats bad luck!!

Me again...this time I'm back with the My Time to Craft challenge...and guess what...yes, its another embossing challenge!! Aarrgghhh!!

If you saw my earlier Sweet Stampin blog post you'll already know that I'm not the greatest fan of embossing...its just not my thing! Imagine what I thought when I saw that embossing featured in not one, but two challenges that I needed to make DT cards for...and they are both on the same day!!! AArrgghhh!!

Anyway, as I said before...it wouldn't be fun if challenges were always easy...so here is embossing card number two....

Soooo, once again I've gone with dry embossing...because thats a bit easier for me! I've used my Cuttlebug again to create this cute tag. I've coloured my image with my Promarkers again...and this time I have gone with a cute pink and yellow colour combo.

Pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see how the lovely DT ladies have used embossing on their fab cards.

Aarrgghh...out of my comfort zone!!

Morning All!

Fancy seeing you here today, I hope you are well and had a lovely week.

I have my mum and my aunt visiting me today in Farnham....I think I'll put on a lovely afternoon tea for them...keep your eyes peeled for yummy photos!

Sooo...as you will have noticed from my post title I'm not in a good place today...no the lovely Sweet Stampin ladies have shoved me right out of my comfort zone with this week's challenge....but there again it would be boring if all challenges were simple!

Sooooo...this week we want to see some embossing on your projects. A simple enough technique...both wet or dry...but just one that I don't get on with and I never use. But a challenge is a challenge and so off I went to create my card.....

I've opted for dry embossing, creating my little tag with my Cuttlebug. I'm actually quite pleased with how it looks now, but to start with I thought my embossing looked a bit odd just sat there!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers, giving the Birthday girl a lovely purple dress. I've then carried the purple theme on the card with plain backing paper and pretty paper flowers. I've partners the plain purple with that gorgeous green lacy paper which I love. Finally I added some faux stitching to the image and some little gems to the flowers.

Pop by the Sweet Stampin blog to see how Team Abi used embossing on their cards this week....there are some gorgeous creations! While at the blog you can also hear more about our fab sponsors....

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
