Awesome Weekend...Again!

Hello there...Happy Sunday!

I hope you're having a lovely weekend....I've had such a lovely time. Joe is away for the weekend...its the last round of the British Drifting Championships....and so I decided to invite my best friend Becca over for the weekend.

She popped over on Friday evening and stayed with me until lunchtime today.....and I have had such a nice, girlie time! We've eaten a lot, read magazines, watched movies, went shopping, did some crafting and of course made time for XFactor! What more could a girl want??

I've made Becca a little card that I'm going to pop in the post tomorrow....but I thought I'd share it with you first....

Isn't he a cutie?? Becca already loves this little DigiStamp Boutique image....she loves anything cute and Halloweeny! I've coloured the image with my Promarkers and added some fab googly eyes. I've then followed a fab sketch from Papertake Weekly using gorgeous autumn inspired papers. Finally I added some faux stitiching.

I love how this card has turned out....and I hope it makes Becca smile too!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown - fall colours
Crafty Sentiments - autumn colours
DigiStamp Boutique - September Compeition

Pop by all these fab blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created!

A little bit vintage

Hello there...hope you've had a fab week!

Mine has been another busy one with a big consultant event mid week which I organised for my work. We brought together medical consultants from across the country for the meeting in London...I've been working on it for ages and I'm pleased that it went well.

In fact I've been so busy with this meeting that I nearly didn't have a card for you today! I headed off to work on Wednesday and hadn't planned to go home until fairly late on Friday evening (I stay with either my mum or my sister, both of them live much closer to my office than I do!). When I got to mum's on Wednesday evening I suddenly realised that I needed to make my card for Sweet Stampin this week! Luckily I had my laptop with me and so I had some digi images to choose from. Then I discovered mum's little craft cupboard....and manage to find enough materials to make this card....

Isn't that ribbon fab?? Mum's cupboard is technically full of things for our Brownie meetings, so I am really pleased that I could find these bits and pieces!

Sooooo...you might be wondering what the actual challenge is this week at Sweet Stampin!! We have a theme close to my heart this week....we want to see your vintage cards! If you'd like some more inspiration, pop by the Sweet Stampin blog to see all the gorgeous Team Abi DT cards!

I think this is a bit more shabby chic than vintage, but the sentiment definitly fits the bill and I love this Pollycraft image (it reminds me of me!!). I have also used some brown parcel paper and some gorgeous backing paper that I found in a craft magazine. I've coloured the image with some colouring pencils that I found!

We are joined this week by

as our weekly sponsor....and we are joined this month by

as our monthly sponsor!

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Lets see your transport!

Hello there! This is post number two for me today...if you're looking for my Celebrate The Occasion post please scroll down!

So....this week at My Time To Craft we want to see your projects featuring a method of transport...lots of options here and we can't wait to see what you come up with.

I've opted to go with my favourite kind of papercrafting....making something out of my paper scraps! I was recently asked to create a Birthday card for a friend to give to her dad...he's a big Morris Minor fan and so I made this card....

Not the best photo is the world...but hopefully you recognise the car! I based the image on an actual photograph to get as close to the actual car as possible. Hopefully he will approve of my paper car!

Pop by the My Time To Craft challenge blog to see what my fellow teamies have created for you this week!

I would also like to enter this card over at Make it Monday this week!

What a brilliant weekend!

Hello campers! I hope you are well and have had a lovely weekend!

My weekend has been every bit as good as I hoped it would be (I was a tad bit worried that I would be let down in all my excitment!!).

On Saturday, Lorna, Becca and myself got dressed up and went to the Berkley for a Pret a Portea. This is what we ate....

It looked amazing and tasted just as good! We treated ourselves to a glass of bubbles and enjoyed delicious sandwhiches and tasting spoons before starting on the sweet goodies! The service was amazing, everyone was so friendly and the food kept on coming! We had a wonderful afternoon!

Then today the three of us visited the Festival of Vintage at Epsom Downs race course....as some of you will know, I have a bit of a soft spot for anything vintage! We wandered around the fab stalls selling everything from clothes and hats to homewares and recordplayers. I bought myself a lovely full length winter coat and a cute knitted jumper, Lorna bought a brilliant evening dress for her Birthday in December and Becca added to her brooch collection....and bought her first item of vinatge clothing!

There was also fashions shows, live music and dancing....it was brilliant!

Here I am posing in my new living room! Hee, hee!

Soooo....after all this excitment I decided to make a simple card!

Told you it was simple!

I love this stamp, but its rather large and I rarely use it. However, I thought it would probably work for a clean and simple card where I wanted the image to be the main focus! I've stamped both the image and the sentiment and coloured the image with my Promarkers.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - Clean and Simple
Allsorts - inspired by a song - "These Boots are Made for Walking"
Crazy 4 Challenges - thank you card or thanks giving card

I'm soooo excited!!

Hello there...hope you've had a good week! I am as my post title suggest....SO EXCITED! I have a fab weekend ahead of me...most of it spent with my friend Becca and my sister Lorna. I have been waiting for this weekend to come along for ages!!

Tomorrow I am going to The Berkley hotel in London to experience a Pret a Portea. For those of you who pop by regularly you'll know how much I love an afternoon tea....well a Pret a Portea is amazing! It's inspired by the fashion seasons and features fabulous shoe shaped biscuits and sweet treats in the colours of the seasons. I booked this tea back in May or June (its been so long I can't remember when I actually booked it!!) and I can't wait!

Then on Sunday we are all off to the Festival of Vintage at Epsom race course...a whole day of vintage! There will be shopping, fashion shows, exhibitions, dancing and loads of other things! How exciting!

Watch this space for a post full of cool photos!!

Anyway, while waiting for Joe to come home from work I decided I had time to make a little card....

The weather is most definitley changing at the moment...and hopefully this card captures those wonderful autumn colours that are appearing! I've gone with browns and oranges for this card...along with a stamp that I probably use way too often (but I don't care because I love it!). I've used my corner punch on the image. There is sparkle on that gorgeous floral backing paper and I have added more sparkle to the image.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge - cutting corners
Papertake Weekly - hazy shade of autumn

Pop by all the challenge blogs mentioned to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created.

Where have I been??

Hello there! Happy Wednesday!

Soooo...the beady eyed of you might have noticed that the last few of my posts have been sheduled ones...appearing with my cards, but not so much cheeky chatter! I've also not been visiting all your lovely blogs as much as I'd like at the moment. Sorry!! Life has been so very hectic....both at home and at work! I'm hoping in the next week to get a bit more time to myself again! On top of time escaping me I also managed to burn my middle finger on my left hand last weekend while making jam (not successful, but thats another story)...and my finger is currently bandaged up....making it really hard to do a lot of things...including changing gear in my car and typing on a keyboard!!

Last weekend I did something quite special to me....I know a lot of you will think I'm mad...but I completed my first 10k run in over 5 years! It was the London Zoo 10k stampede and my sister Lorna ran it with me (thank goodness!!). We managed it in one hour and five minutes, which considering the problems I've had with my knee over the last couple of years I am very proud of! It was hard work...I nearly threw up when I came over the finish line and all the professional photos look ghastly....but I did it!

Right, enough of that....I have a card for you today....

Look at me....back to my purple roots! I love this sentiment, it makes me laugh!

For this card I've used various purple papers...both patterened and plain. I've coloured my shoe images with my Promarkers and made them sparkle with my Stickles. The sentiment was made on my computer.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - purple passion
The Pink Elephant - monochromatic

It's all white with me!!

Hello there! Lovely to see you!

This is my second post for today....if you're looking for the Celebrate the Occasion challenge please scroll down!

Well, here I am with another fab challenge from My Time to Craft....did you notice that we've gone weekly now!! Pop back every week for a new fab challenge!

Anyway, this week we're asking that you keep your cards all white....expect the image! Ohhh..tricky!! Here is my little card....

For my card I decided to use some pretty textured white paper in the background, topped with another of these sweet mini doilys...I love them! I've then attached my stamped image that I have coloured with my Promarkers and added some sparkle with my Stickles.

I actually like this challenge theme a lot...the white background really makes the pretty flower digi image pop from the card!

Happy Birthday!

Hello there...Happy Tuesday! Hope you're having a fab week so far!

Sooo...its time for another challenge over at Celebrate the Occasion this week and we're celebrating Birthdays! We'd like to see your Birthday cards with the added twist of using some twine and at least one button!

Here is my card....

I love this pretty backing paper...those polka dots are just fab! I've used some dark purple backing paper at the bottom, topped with my polka dot paper. I've thread my twine through three different purple buttons and I've spaced them along the twine before attaching to the card. My image is stamped and then coloured with my Promarkers and I've added a Birthday sentiment which I have created on my computer.

Pop by the Celebrate the Occasion challenge blog to see how my fellow teamies have used their twine and buttons!

Inspired by a day in the office....

.....hello there! Happy Saturday! Hope you're well today!

Sooooo.....you may know that I'm uber busy at work at the moment....I may have moaned about it once or twice already....but just in case you are in any doubt...aarrgghhh work is sooooo busy at the moment!!

I am so glad that the weekend is here!! Saturday also means that we have another new challenge for you this week over at Sweet Stampin! This week we'd like you to use your sentiment as the focal point of your card....isn't that a fab challenge!

Inspired by a particulary bad day in the office I created this cheeky card.....

I love a good cocktail! They always make me smile with their fab colours, over decorative appearance and funny names!

I 've used some plain blue backing paper, which I have topped with the cute polka dot paper. My sentiment is printed from my computer, backed with pink paper and I've add some sparkle with my Stickles. I've also added a cute little doily (that now reminds me of a cute drinks mat!) and a stamped cocktail...which has been coloured with my Promarkers and has also been attacked with my Stickles! Again, I have backed this with some pink paper.

We're joined in this challenge by our monthly sponsor

Lots of pink and purple!

Hello there...Happy Wednesday! Its hump day...the weekend is just around the corner!!

Today I have decided to go back to my girlie routes and create a pink and purple sensation for you!

What do you think?? Girlie enough??

Hee, hee! I've used a selection of pink and purple plain and patterend papers, along with a bright pink envelope (more about that in a bit!)....I've also used some pink ribbon, a super cute digi image (coloured with my Promarkers) and lots of glitter!!

So, whats this about an envelope I hear you say....well you see that bright pink layer of paper at the bottom of the card...well thats my pink envelope...I've been recycling! My lovely friend Becca sent me a card recently and it came in this fab envelope....I loved the colour and so decided to keep hold of it, thinking that I'd find a use for it!
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Top Tip Tuesday - Recycle
My Tip - keep hold of coloured envelopes that you get in the post, reuse them on your cards!

Lets get folding!

Hello there! Happy Tuesday!

Hope you're having a good week so far!

This morning we have a new challenge for you over at My Time to Craft....we want to see your cards with more than one fold....BUT you're not allowed to enter an easel card! Sooo...what are you waiting for...get your card out and get folding!

I decided I wanted to create some kind of window scene using a gate fold card....but what to put inside?? What do I like best?? Cakes and sweets of course!

One thing I discovered was that its quite hard to photograph a gate fold card!!

I've used some plain grey and some pretty patterened paper in the background. Then I made my shelves from some plain brown paper. I stamped my Birthday cake and sweet jars and coloured them with my Promarkers...then I added a little sparkle with my Stickles. I added them to my shelves and then added a computer generated sentiment.

I'm really pleased with this card...but wait until you see what my fellow DT members have created...they are a talented bunch! Pop over to the My Time to Craft challenge blog now!!!

I'd also like to enter this sweet creation over at Make it Monday!

Is it the weekend yet??

Hello there....lovely to see you today!

My day has been so long, and so busy! I'm really looking forward to the weekend already!! Work is manic at the moment....but I suppose at least it keeps me out of trouble!

So today I was asked to make an anniversary card for one of my colleagues...its his anniversary tomorrow and he hasn't got a card yet! I decided to opt for a very pretty card with a little sparkle....

I've used some light plain blue paper and some really pretty floral paper, along with a doily for the background. I've used one of my favourite stamps, which I think is lovely for wedding anniversaries.....I've add a little sparkle with my Stickles. Finally I added some faux stitching around the image and some light blue to the edge of the doily.

Hopfully my colleague's wife will really like this pretty card!

The Pink Elephant - wedding/anniversary

What a lovely weekend!

Hello there! Happy Sunday!

The weather has been suberb this weekend in Aldershot and I've had such a lovely time. My sister Lorna, her hubby Jim and their puppy Barry visited me yesterday and stayed overnight. We had a picnic and played with Barry in the sunshine. Then we had friends over for dinner...then we banished the boys and had a really girlie evening complete with bubbles and giggles! So much fun!

Today I've had a bit of a lazy day, which has been lovely. I spent this afternoon making up some card orders and making some DT....I suddenly feel a bit organised!

Anyway...my last card was a bit different....and so is this one.....

Wow...yes I made a masculine card! And double wow...I'm actually quite pleased with it! The fab layout is from the sketch over at Crazy 4 Challenges this week and I really enjoyed using it. My Pollycraft image has been coloured with my Promakers.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments - male card
Allsorts - layers

Pop by all the blogs mentioned to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been made.

I got some more exciting news yesterday...I was featured as one of the spotlight cards of the week over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge....thank you so much ladies!!

Finally I thought I'd share with you the rather scrummy pudding I made for my friends last night....there is only one problem....I forgot to take a photo before we all got stuck in!!!

It has a wonderful biscuit base and the most decadent chocolate truffle topping. Soooo yummy.....but soooo bad for you!!

The weekend is in sight.....

.....Hello there...happy Thursday! I am so glad that its Thursday evening...the last couple of weeks have been so busy at work. Plus I am training for a 10k run that I'm doing on the 16th September around London Zoo. I am officially exhausted!!

Luckily I am working from home tomorrow, so I can have a mini lie in! That makes me happy!

Soooo....I have a slightly different card for you today....

See...I told you! Yes its girlie...but there is not a drop of hot pink or purple to be seen! I fancied trying something a little different this evening and I'm kinda pleased with how this has turned out.

I've used plain black paper to back the whole card and the image. I then added a square of lovely flowery/swirly paper and my sentiment. I made two paper flowers using my punches and some Stickles...they were both supposed to look like the bottom one....but I seem to have broken my mini flower punch! Whoops!!  Above the image I have added some punched paper lace.

Finally I coloured my cute LOTV image with my Promarkers and added some tiny pearls to the flowers. I wasn't very happy with her hair at first....but looking at it now I think its turned out ok!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - lace and swirls
DYSU - Birthdays
Lili's Little Faries - Black Magic (use black on your card)
Digi Doodles - handmade flowers

Back to School

Hello there...Happy Wednesday!

I hope you're having a good week so far. I'm a happy bunny today because I've discovered that I won top 3 over at Crafty sentiments last week - thank you for picking me!

So the schools in my area are all back this week...I know mainly because the traffic is worse!

For today's challenges I've made a back to school card....

I love this Pollycraft image.....isn't she cute in those stripey tights and flower in her hair? I've gone with a bright yellow and a blue and white patterned paper background for this card.

I printed this digi image a little larger than I normally would do....she wouldn't fit very well on my usual square cards...so I dug out a tall base card instead and I think it works quite well.

My image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I've added a the sentiment which I created on my computer.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge - colour inspiration photo
Love to Create - back to school
Tuesday Throwdown - back to books
Papertake Weekly - anything goes

I've used plain black paper as the background, topped with some hot pink patterned paper. I then added an oblong of black and white polka dot paper...before adding my cute cupcakes! I've coloured my cupcakes with my Promarkers and added a little bit of sparkle to the bows with my Stickles. Finally I added Glossy Accents to the frosting.

Hey Honey!

Hello there.....lovely to see you today!

So, did you know that September is national honey month in America?? What a fab celebration....I love honey....I drink it in hot water, I eat it on toast, I use it in my baking....I love it! The National Honey Board and the U.S. Department of Agriculture got together in 1989 and decided that since most of the honey in America is harvested in September, then this should be the month to celebrate this wonderful substance!

Sooooo....here at Celebrate the Occasion we'd like to celebrate national honey month this week....all you need to do is create a card featuring a bee!

I love this image....that little bee is just so cute! I've coloured him with my Promarkers and added a little sparkle to his wings and the balloon with my Stickles. I then opted for a yellow and black colour combo for this card, using yellow polka dots and plain black and yellow backing papers.

China Blue
Rose Pink
