Sketch time!

Hello peeps! Hope you're having a lovely week!

I'm currently on annual leave and thoroughly enjoying being a lady of leisure! I've moved myself into Joe's flat for the week and I'm loving it! I haven't done as much crafting as I thought I would, but I've done loads of baking! I'm finally starting to relax a little, and I've been able to do some exercise.....my knee really feels like its on the mend at long last!

Anyway, it's Wednesday so its time for a fab sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday....it's number 99...don't forget to visit their blog next week to see sketch 100!!

Isn't it a cute layout?? I like this stamp a lot...probably because the lucky lady is eating cake! I've just bought a teacup just like this one...I found in a car boot sale for 50p!

So, I thought I'd also share some of my baking...since I last posted I have baked mini cupcakes for Joe's Mum's 60th Birthday, as well as some yummy biscuits that I need to ice tonight. I've also made filled chocolates for the first time...I made strawberry ones first and today I've attempted coffee cremes. I've also done a little savoury baking, creating a fab quiche lorriane and some sausage rolls!

I've also added to my blogs recently...here at Wedgies Wonderful World I've added a "free baking paper" page. This was following the lovely comments I got when I used handmade backing paper earlier this year. Please feel free to use the papers....there are cherries and belinda bees there at the moment....hopefully more will come in the future! If you do use any of my papers I'd love to hear about it!

I've also updated my baking blog - Bake & Share. You'll find the simple recipe I used to make mocha macaroons on there at the moment. Plus I am going to start adding my afternoon tea reviews! If you get the chance please visit my baking blog too!

Thanks for stopping by today, see you soon!

Time to craft!

Hello there! I hope you're enjoying some lovely sunshine where ever you are in the world!

Well, as you know life's been fairly hectic for me recently, but today is Good Friday in the UK and this means a lovely long weekend for me...plus I've taken some time off next week too! This morning I've washed my car and my mum's car and I've finally made some time for some crafting...woo hoo! Here is this morning's effort, which I'm really pleased with:

The sketch is from this week's challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday....don't forget to pop over there all see all their gorgeous DT cards...we're at sketch 98 this week and the lovely SSW ladies will be celebrating 100 sketches with a fab blog hop...I can't wait!

The colour scheme of pink and chocolate brown is for the "any excuse for chocolate" challege this week at Sweet Stampin Challenge. Isn't that brown and pink polka dot paper fab?? I just love this colour combo, it always makes me smile! I've also added a little faux stitching for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and I've embossed the image for the "emboss it" challenge over at Simon Says Stamp challenge. I've never embossed before....my lovely boyfriend bought me a heat tool for my Birthday so I decided to give it a go! I'm really pleased with how it looks...think I'll be embossing lots more!!

Don't forget to visit all blogs mentioned above...all of them feature gorgeous DT cards - perfect inspirtation!

The other thing I've made time for this week was a little baking! I was given so many wonderful baking and cakes books for my Birthday and I can't wait to try out all the recipes! I started off with some delicious mocha macaroons......these look much better than my last attempt when they looked a little like dog turds! I made a big batch, but after taking them to work and sharing them with my family I only have two left!! I'm assuming that meant they're tasty!!

Thanks for popping by my blog today, I hope to see you again soon!

Lots of Layers!

Evening All...hope you're all well and had a lovely weekend. Thank you for all the lovely Birthday wishes everyone sent me over the weekend....I had a fab time and was thoroughly spoilt by my lovely friends and family.

I had an amazing total of three different Birthday cakes...so no baking from me this week! Here is one of the cakes....and I have to admit I think I'm slightly tipsy in this photo!

Life is a tad bit hectic at the moment, so my crafting is slightly limited at the moment...this is a real shame considering all the crafting goodies I was given this weekend! But here is a card that I've made for this week's challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge...can you guess the theme?

No, its not weddings....or the colour blue...it's "lots of layers"! This is a bespoke card that I was asked to make for a work colleague, it's her sister's wedding and she wanted something a little personal. I think the layers work nicely with this card, I didn't want to colour in the image so I just added a little sparkle with my stickles. Pop over to the Cupcake blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

Fashion, ladies and a great sketch!

Hello there! I hope you're all keeping well.

I'm a tad bit excited as its my Birthday this weekend! Everyone always laughs because I still make a big deal of my Birthday and plan lots of things to do...but hey, its nice to have things to look forward to! This weekend I will be going on another Ghost Bus Tour in London, I will be staying in a fancy hotel, I will be having afternoon tea with the girlies and I will be having a fab party....and I can't wait!

Today I have a very girlie card to share with you...the great layout for this card is this week's fab sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday...

Isn't that sketch lovely...I'll be using this one again definitly! Did you know that Arlana has nearly created 100 sketches for Sweet Sketch Wednesday...thats amazing! Check out their blog to see how the DT have used this sketch!

The theme for this card has come from this month's challenge over at Sir Stampalot where the theme is "Ladies and Fashion". Isn't that a fab challenge?? I love this sentiment....I'm not entirely sure I've done it justice here as it doesn't quite fit in! The image is another of those fab Kanban stamps...I love them!! I've been practicing with my Promarkers again, and I've added a little glittle glue to the necklace and the shopping bag!

I've also done a little baking this evening, something I haven't done in a while. I decided to revisit one of my favourite recipes...coffee cake! I think I'll call these coffee and cream cakes, as they are coffee sponge cake topped with vanilla butter icing. I've also added a little sparkle to the cupcakes using edible glitter...it hasn't come out very well in the photo, but the cakes really do sparkle!
Thanks for popping by today, see you soon!

I love to cook with wine!

Evening All!

It's Wednesday...its late in the evening...that can only mean one thing...I've finished Brownies and Guides and come home to make a card for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge! I have to say a BIG thank you to the SSW ladies who awarded me a Top 3 badge last week....I didn't make any cards last week and didn't get the chance to say thanks! It really means a lot to me when such fab crafters award me a badge!

Anyway, this weeks sketch is fab, I really enjoyed using this one. I've also been experiementing with my new promarkers as I really wasn't using them to their full potential before. I've looked on You Tube for some tutorials and I'm experiementing with the techniques I saw online! Here is my finished card...

Don't you just love this image and sentiment??

I've been a bit naughty...where my sentiment is there should be a flower I think...but I really like this sentiment and didn't want to leave it off! This is a bit of an odd colour scheme, but I like it and think it works to give a funky looking card! While colouring I've realised that I need to invest in some skin coloured promarkers too!

Anyway, I do hope that you pop by the SSW blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards, there is some great inspiration over there!

Thanks for popping by my blog today.

Something Funny!

Evening All, I hope you're all well.

Cupcake Craft Challenges has a fab challenge this week...their theme is comedy rocks! What a fab challenge! I just love making cards that make people laugh and often my cards can be a little bit cheeky!

I've been asked by a colleague to make a 50th Birthday card for her partner...she wanted his favourite car on it (a MGB Roadster) and their cat Jaspa. She also told me that he liked real ale, red wine and Edwina Currie! Here is what I created for her....

As you see I've missed out Edwina Currie! Once I'd made the car out of paper and stamped Jaspa the cat I decided I didn't want to put anything else on the card as I didn't want to make it to crowded. My cheeky sentiment delivered by Jaspa is "You're not old...you're vintage!". I really enjoyed creating this car, and I'm pleased with how it looks. I based it on a photo, so the dimensions should all be right.

As well as the comedy challenge, I'm also entering this card in the "anything goes" challenge over at Papertake Weekly. Take a peek at both blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created.

Thanks for popping by today and I hope to see you again soon!

Happy Mother's Day

Hello everyone....hope you're all well.

This has been my first post in a while...its been a bit hectic recently and I've got a wonderful cough that gets worse at night time, so I'm exhausted! This morning is the first time I've crafted in over a week! I suddenly realised that I haven't got a Mother's Day card...yes I know I'm a bad daughter!!

We're taking mum to The Savoy for afternoon tea today, its become our tradition that we take her to London for tea every Mother's Day...to be honest its becoming quite an expensive tradition, but we all love it! We've been to The Savoy once before...in fact it was the first year we took mum to tea and we had such a wonderful time. The hotel reopened last November after their refit and we decided we should try them again! Anyway, here is my card for mum...

This is one of the mini cards which I love! The more I use them the more I realise just how much you can fit on them! I've created quite a simple card here, but I love that flowery paper and so I wanted to make that a focal point. I've also used a pre-cut daisy, which I added a little yellow centre to.

I'd like to enter this card into two challenges this week:
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Flowers for Mum
Allsorts - Blooming Blossoms

Right, I better start getting ready for tea...I've got to put my gladrags on! I'd like to wish all the Mums out there a wonderful day, I hope you're all being spolit rotten!

Thanks for popping by today,
