Keeping it Simple

Hello there....is it only Thursday?? Why is this week going by sooooo slowly?? Surely if I've had a Bank Holiday Monday the week should whizz by!!

Today I have a clean and simple card to share with you.....

Being one of those rather girlie crafters I always struggle a little when it comes to thinking of you cards. Trying to get the balance right is something I find a bit hard...so when I made this one I decided to go down the clean and simple route. Using just two stamps and some sparkly Stickles.

I love this mini tree stamp, and some of the eagle eyed of you might notice this is a smaller version of another one of my favourite stamps! I think its very elegant and works for so many different occasions.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Pink Elephant - thinking of you
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
Alphabet Challenge - only one colour plus white (black and white)

Pop by all these fab blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created.

Thanks for popping by today, see you again soon I hope!

Flowers, flowers everywhere!

Hello There.....Happy Wednesday!

I hope you're well and having a lovely week so far!

Don't you love flowers? I do! There are so many different ones, all so pretty in their own way. I To be honest I'm a big plant fan too....many of you know that I'm growing my own mini tomatos in my kitchen, along with some peppers. I also have a pineapple plant and a lemon plant! I love growing things!

Anyway, inspired by pretty flowers here is my card for today.....

Isn't she pretty....and more importantly wouldn't you love a big bunch of flowers like those?? They are also sooo pretty! I've used floral papers, along with a dollie and some plain blue paper to create the background. My image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added some sparkle with some mini gems. I have added some more mini gems, and some beautiful paper flowers.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

The Paper Shelter - anything goes
Top Tip Tuesday - Birthday Gift (those pretty flowers!)

I also thought I'd share my latest bake with you.....

Hmmmm....yummy! The ones in the blue paper cases are peanut butter cupcakes and the ones in the pink paper cases are vanilla cupcakes. Both are topped with vanilla butter cream and a sprinkle of black sugar. I really wanted to add some homemade caramel to the peanut butter ones, but I burnt my caramel!!

I'd like to enter these sweet treats in the "bake sale" challenge over at City Crafter Challenge this week. They'd like to see creations featuring baked goods....or anything baking related. Hopfully these fit the bill!

Milestone Birthdays

Hello Folks.....me again!

If you are looking for my Celebrate the Occasion DT card please scroll down!

It's time for a new challenge over at My Time to Craft....and this week's challenge is just fab! We'd like to see your milestone birthday cards.....so think big...or small....as long as its an important birthday!

I've opted to celebrate someone's 30th Birthday for my card.....30 is an odd age really and some people seem to react to turning 30 as if its the end of the world. For me age is just a number, something you shouldn't get hung up about (yes you can all remind me of these wise words as I hit other milestone Birthdays!!).

Here is my card....

I've opted for fab pinks and greys for this card (I love this cute flowery paper!), which I think work so well together. My shoes are stamped and attached to the card with 3D sticky pads to make them pop from the card a little. I've coloured my fab shoes using my Promarkers and added a little sparkle to the hearts with my Stickles.

I love to dance (badly) and so I think this sentiment is just fab!

Pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week!

I'd also like to enter this card in Make it Monday.

Birthday Fun!

Hello folks!

Happy Tuesday! Hope you're keeping well.

So we have another new challenge for you over at Celebrate the Occasion and this week we are celebrating birthdays......with a twist....your card needs to be for a child's birthday.

We are sponsored this month by  the wonderful Digi Doodle and I am lucky enough to have one of their fab images to play with this week....its called anticipation....isn't it cute.....

I've coloured the cute image with my Promarkers....all the time thinking to myself that the cake in the image must taste wonderful!!

I've then used some cute polka dot backing paper, along with some plain yellow and blue for the background. I made the sentiment on my computer.

I'd like to enter this card at Make it Monday.

Hello there peeps...hope you're all well and having a lovely weekend!

Can anyone else believe its nearly the end of August already?? Where has the summer gone?? So, its nearly time for the children to go back to school and for my Brownies to start meeting again! Although its nice to have six weeks away from Brownies, its  always lovely to see them again in September and hear what they've been up to over the summer.

Sooo....inspired by this time of year here is today's card....

I love this cute Sweet & Sassy digi image!

I've gone for a clean and simple look for this card, using different white papers and cards to create the layout. The image is coloured with my Promarkers and I've added a couple of pearls in the corner.

A sweet bribe....

Hello there....well its a bit of a grey Saturday morning here in Aldershot at the moment. The sun is trying to poke through, but the clouds are currently winning! I'm off to a BBQ later so some sunshine would be really nice!

Joe and I live in a block of flats in Aldershot....he's been there several years and I've been there just over a year. We've made friends with a lovely couple in our block called Kirsty and Jake, who live a couple of doors away from Joe's flat. They love my cupcakes and whenever I make a fresh batch I try and take some cakes down to them too. They got engaged recently and are planning to buy a house nearby.....I will miss them and so I decided to bribe them yesterday with some freshly baked cupcakes!

These are vanilla cupcakes, with a two coloured vanilla butter cream swirl and a fresh strawberry on top - yummy! I think I've finally mastered the two coloured icing and I'm really pleased with how these look.

I tried reasoning with Kirsty and Jake that if they move I won't be able to deliver sweet treats like this anymore! Hee, hee!

I'd like to enter these cupcakes in the "it's a gift" challenge over at Allsorts this week.

Soooo.....I also have a little card for you today.....

I love the soft sweet colours of this patterned backing paper and I think it looks fab with the sky blue plain paper, it also has a fab glittered effect to add a little bling factor. My cute LOTV image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I've added some sparkle to her wings with my Stickles. Finally I've added some cute little blue squares and some blue punched flowers, which have glitter centres.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Send a Smile 4 Kids - anything goes
Lili's Little Fairies - spots or stripes
DYSU - fantasy
Poodle Palour - things with wings

Oh my goodness!!

Hello there, hope you're keeping well!

Sorry I haven't been around much this week! Thank you for all your lovely comments.

I have been plagued by IT problems recently...both at work and at home! Today I went to work to find that all my word and excel documents had vanished!!! I've been in my job for 7 years now and so you can imagine my panic at the thought of all that work gone!! That got fixed and then I came home to my continuing lack of internet problems! After 20 mins on the phone to Virgin Media, 15 mins on the phone to Dell and a lovely 30 min chat to an engineer in India and my internet is finally working again! Apparently it was a McFee problem....a bad update or something!! What a wonderful IT day!

Anyway, enough of my moaning...I have managed to fit in a teeny bit of crafting today....

I told you it was a teeny bit of crafting! This simple card is made of black baking paper, some pretty black and white patterned paper and a gorgeous stamped image. I've also added a little faux stitching to the image.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge - black and white
Papertake Weekly - Pins & Needles

Pop by all the blogs mentioned to see the gorgeous DT cards.

I have to say a HUGE thank you to the lovely Elaine for the fab package she sent me recently....I promise everything will get used!

Right....I'm off to do a little blog suffering...I've really missed my internet over the last couple of days!!

Lot of Challenges!

Happy Sunday! Hope you are well today!

Phew! Hasn't it been a hot weekend? Becca and I had a lovely time in London yesterday....we went to Covenant Garden and then to the British Museum to see the mummies. We then had a lovely wander around Liberty's (have you seen their fantastic fabric floor??) Finally we had a picnic in Hyde Park! We walked for miles, but had a lovely day!

So today I have a pretty, girle card for you which has been inspired by several different challenges...

I've used a plain blue paper and a pretty flowered paper for this card. My LOTV image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added some metal pins, flowers and buttons to two of the corners.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts - heavy metal
Crazy 4 Challenges - colour challenge (pink, green, blue & yellow)

Wedding Wishes

Hello Folks - Happy Saturday!

Hope you're having a good day so far. So another Saturday brings with it another fab challenge over at Sweet Stampin and this week's challenge is wedding or anniversary. I have to say that I don't really make many wedding or anniversary cards so this made a nice change for me.

This month we have the lovely Joanna Sheen sponsoring us

and this week's sponsor is Whimsy Stamps

I decided to make another clean and simple card this week....

I'm pleased with how this card turned out, even if I was a little worried about the doodling to start with. I made this card at the beginning of the week and to start with those silver lines didn't really sit with me very well.....this end of the week and I actually quite like them!

I have stamped my sentiment in the top left hand corner and my image in the bottom right hand corner. My bride and groom have been coloured simply with my Promarkers. Finally I added the doodling with a silver pen.

Pop by the Sweet Stampin blog to see all the gorgeous cards that Team Abi have created this week.

I would also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Tip Top Tuesday - one layer
The Paper Shelter - Clean and Simple

Sweet Celebrations

Hi everyone - hope you're well on this lovely Friday afternoon.

We have lots of sunshine in Aldershot today and I'm looking forward to a fab weekend with my lovely friend Becca. We're heading into London tomorrow to see the Food Network summer sizzle festival in Covenant Garden, then an evening filled with food, gossip and probably some wine awaits us!

Soooo.....look at that...I have 100 lovely followers...thank you so much! I love reading everyone's comments.....the crafting community is so supportive and full of lovely crafty bods!

I've had yet more internet problems this week....lucky me....but I have a quick card for you today which is full of my favourite things....

I was asked to make a congratulations card by someone at work as one of their friends has just passed their accountancy exams. As a special treat the lady at work is taking her friend out for afternoon tea and so we decided to feature some teatime treats on the front of the card.

I love these fresh zingy colours together and I think the hint of blue framing the images is just lovely! My images are stamped and coloured with Promarkers and I have added a bit of sparkle to each one with my Stickles.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown - Sweet treats
Love to Create - sparkle

I've added some cute Christmas pudding backing paper and some plain red backing paper to frame the card. Finally I added some handmade paper holly with a little Stickles sparkle!

Christmas Time....

Hello! Happy Tuesday!

Hope you are well today!

So its time for another new challenge over at Celebrate the Occasion and this week we are getting you into the Christmas spirit nice and early! I have to say that I can't really start thinking about Christmas just yet....don't get me wrong...I LOVE Christmas...I just can't think about it yet...not while I have a tan!!

Anyway.....jingle bells, jingle bells.....here is my card....

I love this cheeky Rudolph design....he always makes me smile and I have to admit that he has featured on rather a lot of my Christmas cards! I've made him out of various paper scraps from my stash, adding a little detail around the edges. Finally I added a little sparkle to his big, red nose with my Stickles. For the background I've used plain green and cute Christmas tree paper.

Happy 4th Birthday Cupcake!

Hello there...another Monday already??

However today is a special Monday as today the fab challenge blog Cupcake Craft Challenge are celebrating their fourth Birthday! As you know I am a keen participant in the Cupcake challenges and so I was very excited when the lovely Faye asked me if I fancied helping the Cupcake Ladies celebrate their Birthday!

To celebrate their blog Birthday the fab Cupcake ladies are taking a well deserved break and have asked various Guest Cupcakes to create cards instead! How cool!! We were all given the cutest image as inspiration.....

Aren't those cake pops cute?? Fab colours too!

Well.....I thought I'd do something a little bit different this time and add some real cakes that I've made to this Birthday card....

Ok, not quite as neat as the cake pops in the first image, but these are cake pops that I have made myself.....they were very tasty too!! I've taken the fab pink colour as inspiration from the image too, and the polks dots.

Pop by the Cupcake Craft Challenge blog to see how all the other Guest Cupcakes have used the image!

Happy Birthday Cupcake!

Thanks for popping by today,
I can't wait to see your cards!

Greetings from the Seaside!

Hello there! Hope you're having a good day!

Sooo...I know I'm currently away from my laptop, but I couldn't resist posting a little seaside card! I'm down at Lydden Hill race track this weekend supporting Joe in the fourth round of the British Drifting Champsionships....but we're staying in Folkestone....so I thought this card would be appropriate!

Not that I'm going to get anytime on the beach!!

I've used some cute stamps that I got free with a magazine recently, aren't they cute?? I've coloured the images with my Promarkers. I've used beach inspired papers for the background and created a shore line using my Martha Stewart punch. Finally I've created my sentiment on my computer and then turned it into a cute little tag.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - down at the beach
Papertake Weekly - anything goes
Cute Card Thursday - Tag you're it!

Hope you're keeping well today. I'm off drifting with Joe again this weekend....we're off to Lydden Hill race track in a couple of hours for the 4th round of the British Drifting Championships...wish Joe luck!

Anyway....as my post title suggests I think I've already had quick a bit of luck recently. At the end of July I entered the lovely Tracey's candy on her blog...and guess what...I won! Tracey has been extremly generous and I can honestly say that I've never opened such an exciting package before!!

Thank you so much Tracey!

Soooo...I got stuck into my new stash straight away....

I don't usually add a lot of embellishments to my cards, but I always admire how they look on other people's cards. So today I found at Bingo challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to go a little embellishment mad!

I've used some of the beautitful papers from Tracey's candy, along with that gorgeous image. I've coloured the image with my Promarkers and added a little sparkle to the tiny flowers with my Stickles. I've then added some glittery flowers and some die cut butterflies. I suppose the only thing that I missed was a sentiment....please image it says "Happy Birthday" down in the left hand corner!!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

What an exciting week!

Hello there...Happy Tuesday! Hope you're keeping well!

Sorry I've been missing for a couple of days....my internet has been playing up, along with everyone elses who has Virgin Media in Aldershot! I had to wait several days for the engineer to pay me a visit...but I'm all fixed now!

Sooo....I've had a busy week...I went to see the Olympic weight lifting at Excel. I enjoyed it soooo much, I'm so pleased that my sister convinced me that I wanted to go!! Those muscley men are amazing (and wear very tight clothes!!).

I'm not sure why we've got union jacks - there were no Team GB members in this class!!

As well as the actual competition, we also got to watch a medal ceremony, which was soooo cool!!

After the Olympics Joe and I hopped down to Bournemouth for a couple of days. The sunshine held, although it was a little cooler than the week before. We paddled in the sea, walked in the gardens, went to the aquarium and saw a performance of Starlight Express. It was so nice to escape!!

Right....time for some cards me thinks!! I've got two for you this evening as I have been catching up on some challenges....

For my first card I've used this cute Pollycraft image, along with some fab blue papers. I've punched some of the light blue paper with my Martha Stewart punch.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Love to Create - punches & dies
Polka Doodles - banners and bunting

My second card is made up of funky black and white paper, some blue and white polka dot paper and some pink ribbon. I've used plain black paper to frame the card and the image. The image is from LOTV and I have coloured it with my Promarkers.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp - inspiration
DYSU - polka dots

Hope you're having a good day so far! So its another Saturday and that only means one thing....its time for a fab new challenge over at Sweet Stampin!

This week we are joined by A Day for Daisies as our weekly sponsor

and Joanna Sheen as our monthly sponsor

Soooo...whats the challenge I hear you cry? This week we have a fab theme for you...we want to see books/text feature on your cards.

I've used a fab Pollycraft image for my card this week...

I've opted for a bit of a retro feel for this card, I thought it suited the girl's glasses! I just love this vibrant colour combo of red and blue, it makes me smile!!

I've used some plain red and blue papers, along with the fab patterened paper. I've used the Pollycraft digi image which has been coloured with my Promarkers. I've also used some stamped text and a sentiment created on my computer.

I'm off to the seaside!

Hello there, thanks for popping by today!

Today I'm really excited (again!!) as I'm off to the seadside....I'm visiting Bournemouth with Joe. Today we have been together for five years (where has the time gone??) and we're celebrating by having a couple of days by the sea! I love the seaside....my parents didn't take us abroad when we were little, instead we spent wonderful weeks by various British seasides...including Bournemouth. As soon as I see the sea, no matter the weather....I have to go for a paddle...so fingers crossed the sun shines for me a little, otherwise I'll have very cold toes!!

Anyway, enough babbling....here is my sea inspired card for today....

Now if I'm entirely honest I'm not that happy with this card....I think I've tried to include too much plus the photo is awful!! I love this cute Pollycraft mermaid, I've coloured her with my Promarkers and added some sparkle with my Stickles. I've gone with soft blue papers for the background and added some doodling with my white pen. I've added a computer generated sentiment and some stamped number. The idea behind this was good...it just didn't end up how I imagined!!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown - doodling
Passion for Promarkers - under water

Pop by all the blogs mentioned her to see the gorgeous DT cards.

Thanks for popping by today....I'll be back later this week with tales from the seaside!!
