Wedding Wishes

Hello Folks - Happy Saturday!

Hope you're having a good day so far. So another Saturday brings with it another fab challenge over at Sweet Stampin and this week's challenge is wedding or anniversary. I have to say that I don't really make many wedding or anniversary cards so this made a nice change for me.

This month we have the lovely Joanna Sheen sponsoring us

and this week's sponsor is Whimsy Stamps

I decided to make another clean and simple card this week....

I'm pleased with how this card turned out, even if I was a little worried about the doodling to start with. I made this card at the beginning of the week and to start with those silver lines didn't really sit with me very well.....this end of the week and I actually quite like them!

I have stamped my sentiment in the top left hand corner and my image in the bottom right hand corner. My bride and groom have been coloured simply with my Promarkers. Finally I added the doodling with a silver pen.

Pop by the Sweet Stampin blog to see all the gorgeous cards that Team Abi have created this week.

I would also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Tip Top Tuesday - one layer
The Paper Shelter - Clean and Simple

Thanks for popping by today,

Catching up!

Hello there!
Hope you've had a good day! Soooo...I've missed a lot of challenges in the last week, what with the Race for Life and my friend's Birthday....so tonight I decided to catch up! The Race for Life was brilliant...Alex and I finished it in 35 minutes and considering the amount of gossiping we did on route I'm very pleased with that! I've raised about £100 too.....which I'm also really pleased with. Thank you everyone for your support!

I've also had fab news this week....I've won a prize over at Chocolate, Coffee and Cards. Plus I was picked as one of the first top 3 over at My Time to Craft....check out my shining new badges! Its always such an honour to be picked out by such talented crafters....thank you! Good news is supposed to come in threes....so I wonder what will happen next....a lottery win would be lovely! Hee, hee!

Soooo....here is my first card for tonight....I've been inspired by this lovely sunshine!

Isn't it yummy??

I've gone for pretty summer shades and a yummy image!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - photo inspiration - I took the summer theme and the colours yellow and pink
Passion for Promarkers - Glitter and pastels (and of course I've used my Promarkers to colour the image)
Allsorts - paper piercing - there is some on the blue polka dot paper honest!
The Pink Elephant - photo inspiration - I've used the pink and summer theme
Crafty Sentiments - Bright colours - the ice cream is very bright!
Celebrate the Occasion - welcome summer - nothing better than a yummy ice cream in the summer!!

My second time is a bit more romantic....

Another cutie I hope you agree! I've gone all slushy with my coffee and cream colours, flowers and hearts for this cute wedding card! I've added some sparkle to my champagne and my hearts with my Stickles and the image is coloured with my Promarkers.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

My Time to Craft - Weddings
Cute Card Thursday - Punch Drunk - use a punch or feature a drink
Papertake Weekly - Bingo! I've gone with punches, glitter and blooms
Chocolate, Coffee and Cards - colour challenge - coffee & cream

A little controversial!

Hi there!

It's Wednesday....I've been to work...to Brownies and to Guides.....I then came home and got to play along with one of my favourite challenge blogs! I love Sweet Sketch Wednesdays....Arlana creates amazing sketches for us to follow and the DT are all so lovely...not only creating gorgeous cards, but also leaving fab comments. Tonight when I popped over to see this week's sketch I was delighted to see that I'd won their Grand Prize with my card last week......how exciting! Thank you ladies....I'm dead chuffed!

I've been sent some skin tone Promarkers by my fab Sweet Stampin team leader Abi.....and some bleedproof paper to stamp on! Aren't I lucky?? Thanks again Abi.....I've already started practising! Here is my card for this week's challenge at SSW:

Now I know I always say this....but this sketch is fab! I really enjoyed creating this card. The wedding theme comes from this week's challenge over at Passion for ProMarkers....and as you can see I've decided to be a bit daring with my wedding card. I wanted a more contemporary feel for this card and so opted for non-traditional colours and black lace! I wasn't sure as I was putting the card together whether it was going to work, but looking at it now I'm quite happy with it. I think the grey ribbon and button really pulls everything together.

I'm also entering this card in the Bingo challenge over at Simon Says Stamp this week....you can't beat a bit of Bingo! I've opted for buttons, lace and sentiment.

Pop over to all three blogs to see some gorgeous cards....great inspiration!

Right, I'm off to bed....I'm in serious need of some beauty sleep! Thanks for popping by today, its lovely to read your comments.

Lots of Layers!

Evening All...hope you're all well and had a lovely weekend. Thank you for all the lovely Birthday wishes everyone sent me over the weekend....I had a fab time and was thoroughly spoilt by my lovely friends and family.

I had an amazing total of three different Birthday cakes...so no baking from me this week! Here is one of the cakes....and I have to admit I think I'm slightly tipsy in this photo!

Life is a tad bit hectic at the moment, so my crafting is slightly limited at the moment...this is a real shame considering all the crafting goodies I was given this weekend! But here is a card that I've made for this week's challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge...can you guess the theme?

No, its not weddings....or the colour blue...it's "lots of layers"! This is a bespoke card that I was asked to make for a work colleague, it's her sister's wedding and she wanted something a little personal. I think the layers work nicely with this card, I didn't want to colour in the image so I just added a little sparkle with my stickles. Pop over to the Cupcake blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

Perfect Match

Morning Peeps!

I just thought I'd pop by and share a card with you whilst muching on some yummy toast and raspberry jam (homemade by mum!). I also thought I'd carry on with the romantic theme that I set yesterday....plus the theme at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week is Weddings! Pop over and see all the DT cards - they're all gorgeous!

I've decided to opt for a quite simple card, perfect for one of those couples who just ooze love...you know...the perfect match! The bride and groom are cut out from paper found in my stash, I've embellished them with a little glitter glue. I've used 3D sticky pads to make the bride and groom really stand out from the card.

Right, its about that time....work is calling so I better get my skates on! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I look forward to seeing you again!

Happily Ever After.....

Evening All,

Two posts today! I got back to Joe's and just got the urge to craft. I knew I'd left my craft box here and thought I'd have a play. Imagine my dismay when I looked in the box and realised there wasn't much in it! I had a huge assortment of white card blanks, sticky dots, 3D sticky pads, some gems, three pens, a scrap of silver card and some old wrapping paper! I'd taken all my paper stash home with me!

Still, I decided to have a play anyway and came up with the following....

It's very wonky and the sentiment isn't in the middle, but I'm still pretty pleased with the outcome considering my limited resources! Hee, hee!

I used the wrapping paper and silver card in layers and topped them off with a handmade bride and groom, luckily I had black and pink gems to add a little dazzle. With no sentiments and no printer to hand I decided to write my sentiment on....I just didn't manage to centre it properly!

This card is for two challenges....firstly Allsorts have given us the theme of new beginnings...and Cupcake gave the theme of books and stories. I've always loved the romantism of fairy tales....the prince and princess living happily ever after. I thought weddings and fairy tales went very well together.

Right, I'm off to cook dinner for me and Joe.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Lilac and Lemon

On my goodness....it just taken my stupid computer over 30 minutes to turn on and get to stage where I can write this blog!! Why does it take so long?? Sorry Sheree...I know I said I wouldn't moan about the stupid computer anymore, but its sooooo annoying!!

Anyway, this will have to be really quick now because I've got to get to work! Over at Papertake Weekly they have a fab sketch for their challenge this week, with the optional colour combo of lilac and lemon. The DT have created some gorgeous designs to inspire us, take a peek here.

I thought the colour combo would be an easy one to use, but it took me a while to get it looking right! I've used a selection of papers from my stash....I've got lots of purple colours as thats also a favourite colour of mine. I thought the colours looked quite soft and romantic so I decided this should be a wedding card. I've used a Forever Friends topper for my inage, I'm not usually a Forever Friends fan to be honest, but I thought these wedding toppers looked so cute!

Anyway, I've really got to get going now, so thanks for stopping by today.

How romantic....

....hello everyone...hope you've had a good day today....isn't this sunshine lovely...it doesn't have to be blazing hot....just the sun being there makes me smile!

So, I didn't really tell you that much about my Birthday yesterday....the hotel in London was amazing, I had breakfast in bed on my actual Birthday...something everyone should treat themselves to I think! I spent a lot of time with my lovely boyfriend Joe just relaxing...he is treating me to a lovely pressie this year...he's taking me to Cornwall for a long weekend in the summer and I can't wait! We can't have our usual week surfing together because of his stupid drifting competitions, but this way I still get to go to Newquay and hopefully my knee will be better by then and I'll actually be able to surf!! Its such a thoughtful present from Joe, I'm very lucky.

While I was in a romantic mood this evening I decided to create this cute little wedding card

This card is for two card challenges - the Papertake Weekly Challenge and the Bee Crafty challenge. Over at Papertake Weekly they gave us this fab sketch to play with. I love sketch challenges because everyone's designs are so different - take a peek at the DT cards to see what I mean! The DT designs are all so lovely, such brilliant inspiration!

Then pop over to the Bee Crafty blog where they are asking for designs for either a wedding, wedding anniversary or engagement....this fitted in perfectly with my romantic mood! This challenge has to include a digi image...I've used this cute wedding couple one from Bee Crafty. Take a peek here to see the beautiful DT designs.

As well as the basic sketch and the digi image I've also created my own little heart embellishment out of jewellery wire and some tiny pink seed beads. I've attached this to the back of the sentiment, which is attached to the card with 3D sticky pads.

The supper club was great fun yesterday, it was held in a local bar in Surbiton and I went along with my lovely sister Lorna. We had three delicious courses....although there were scallops in the starter and I hate scallops....luckily Lorna really liked them! Pudding was my favourite...a gorgeous creamy trifle - yummy!

Anyway, I'm off now...I want to watch Heston's amazing creations!

Wedding Wishes

Morning All, I'm going to be at the boyfriend's all weekend, with no internet access so I thought I'd get another card on my blog this morning before heading into the office. If you scroll down my blog you'll see that yesterday's entry was made quite late at night....I'd promised myself that I'd go to bed once I'd finished.....did I?? No I didn't!! I went shopping!!!

I found this fab blog called Bee Crafty where they have the cutest digi images to buy and download, and I couldn't help myself! You should take a peek at the gorgeous images they have on offer, click here to visit their blog. I got a couple of images and wanted to use one straight away!! What am I like?? Anyway, here is the card I created from my digi image:
I downloaded several images, but this one fits in with their current challenge, they want to see a romantic theme, and I think by using these lovely pastel colours I've given my card a lovely romantic theme. I've used plain and coloured papers, along with some of my gorgeous glitter glue. The DT over at Bee Crafty have used various other images in their cards, all gorgeous....take a peek here.

The gorgeous layout that I've used for this card has actually come from another challenge, over at the Truly Scrumptious blog they have given us this sketch as their current challenge. I've been using a lot of square cards for sketch layouts recently, so it was nice to work with a different shape. Check out the fab DT designs here.

Anyway, I think I better get a wriggle on....work is calling. I've been a bit naughty this morning.....I had sugar on my toast! Ha, ha! An awful habit I picked up in my teens and occassional revisit! Naughty but nice I think is the phrase!!

Thanks for paying me a visit today, hope you have a fab Friday!

Wish me luck....

.....I am sitting here waiting for my lift down to meet my Brownie Pack...where I will then get on a coach with 18 of the little darlings and head off to meet up with approximately 5000 other little darlings for a weekend of fun as part of the centenary celebrations!

Yes, you did read correctly....5000 little Brownies.....obviously they are not all my responsibility and there will be other adults there, including 3 other leaders from my pack...but its still a daunting thought!

To clam my nerves before I go I decided to do a little crafting! As it was Thursday yesterday I popped over to Cute Card Thursday's blog to read about this week's challenge. Last week was a very popular challenge...they had over 300 entries! Amazing! This week they want projects with a pink and grey colour scheme. I love the DT designs, pink and grey is quite a romantic combination I think. Take a peek here: http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/2010/01/challenge-95-pink-grey.html

So, I put my thinking hat on and driven by the notion that its quite a romantic colour combo I started looking for inspiration and came up with this wedding card...

I found inspiration for this design in an old craft magazine and I just tweaked it slightly, using vellum as well as paper.

I started with my card blank and stuck down a square of plain, light grey paper. On top of this I added a slightly smaller square of vellum to give a pattern to the card. The next layer is lighter pink paper, still in a square, but smaller still. I then added a darker pink rectangle which is wrapped in the same vellum as I had used ealier.

Next I created the printed words on the computer - i've typed various romantic quotes and sayings in white ink in a light grey square. This I cut into a rectangle and added on top of the other paper. I then cut out two mini hearts out of the light grey paper and added them with a little sparkly dot.

I think this gives a very romantic little card, perfect for a wedding.

Anyway, I better head off now...my lift awaits. Wish me luck!

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 63! Nip and a punch!

Evening everyone! I haven't blogged in ages...where's my commitment gone?? The truth be told I am ever so slightly busy at the moment, what with my boss being shipped off to another part of the company, being a bridesmaid for one of my close friends, my Brownie commitments and of course my crafting.....I seem to have let my techno side slip a little!

Anyway, onwards and upwards...I have seen this weeks challenge on Cute Card Thursday and thought I'd give it a go. This week its all about punches and die cuts. I was bought a lovely die cutting machine for my Birthday one year, I believed I would use it endlessly and it would be a fab investment. However, I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I hardly ever use it! I've got this lovely machine and all its doing is collecting dust!! My problem is there is just too much choice when it comes to card making and I'm so easily distracted! Whoops! Anyway, I've started using my lovely machine again and I am enjoying the die cuts it gives me.
One of my favourite cards that I've made with the machine recently is this lovely black and white wedding card. I wanted something simple with butterflies and think the end result is just gorgeous (even if I do say so myself!). I've used black backing paper, followed by a black and white heart design paper, topped with my mum's gorgeous Conquerer Paper (sorry mum - I've stolen more!) and then I added the two die cut butterflies from my machine and a little glitter.....there always has to be a little glitter! I like using the textured paper on top as it gives the card a slightly more elegant finish.
Right just a quick show and tell this evening - I'm full of ideas and have an evening of card making planned! Hope you like my butterflies!
