Only Words!

Hello there,

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a fab week!

Today I have a lovely new Christmas challenge for you from the team at Christmas at Sweet Stampin...this month we want to challenge you to put those images away and use words only on your Christmas cards!

You still need a stamp of some kind on your creation....whether its a digi or a traditional stamp....but it must only be words! Now I know if you are like me you will find this somewhat challenging....

Do you know how difficult it was not to slap some digi holly leaves on this card??

I have gone with a very traditional red and green Christmas colour theme, to match my holly inspired sentiment from Digi Stamp Boutique. I have added white faux stitching to the edge and a little sparkle on the sentiment with my red Stickles (well you can't beat a bit of sparkle!).

For more inspiration pop by the Christmas at Sweet Stampin challenge blog and take a peek at the DT cards that have been created this month. While you're there you can find out about our fab sponsor this month...

Keep it Simple!

Good Morning! Welcome to Saturday morning!

I hope you are well and had a lovely week.

This week at Sweet Stampin we're asking you to keep things simple....we'd like to see your clean and simple cards. So no fuss or over embellishing please!

I decided to use a fab new digi image that I treated myself too from Digi Stamp Boutique...its part of a very cute set....

I'm really pleased with this card....I love the sentiment!

I printed my image and coloured it with my Promarkers. To add a little colour I cut a backing circle in pale pink, which I attached to the back of my image before adding some white faux stitching (well if you've got a sewing machine you need some stitches!).

Pop by the Sweet Stampin blog to see what beautiful CAS cards Team Abi came up with. While you're their you can find out about our fab monthly sponsor....

and our fab weekly sponsor...

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments - use a sentiment
DigiStamp Boutique - monthly competition

More than words.....

Hello there!

Happy Saturday....its a Bank Holiday Weekend in the UK....a lovely long weekend...plus we've had some lovely weather this week! What a lovely combination!

Soooo....we have a lovely challenge for you over at My Time to Craft this week....we want to see you using your sentiment as the main focus of your card. I love the power of words...especially on a card...you really have the ability to make someone smile!

Maybe a bit predictably I've gone with a baking theme to my card.....

Now first off....please excuse the hand written sentiment....I have very suddenly run out of ink in my printer!! I thought there would be some kind of warning...but no...I've run out just like that!!

Anyone who has popped by my blog before knows that I love baking....making cakes and breads in my kitchen makes me happy (a probably a little bit heavier than I should be!!). Therefore I thought this was the perfect sentiment for a card from me!

I've gone with a pink and blue colour combo, some punched flowers with gem stone centres, the tiny cute cupcake image and some faux stitching. I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and added a little bit of colour to the flowers too.

Pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see what brilliant cards the DT have created this week!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Love to Create - punches and or dies
Crafty Sentiments - the letter B (bling, blue and baking!)
Simon Says Stamp - Happy Mail

NOTE - to all the challenge blogs mentioned above - I had difficulty linking to you on Saturday, but it seems to be working today (Sunday)....I'm not backlinking I promise!!!

There is great inspiration on all these challenge blogs this week....pop by if you've got the chance and take a peek!

I also wanted to share with you my latest baking creation....I don't usually make cakes for other people, but a good friend of mine asked for cakes for a baby shower she is hosting and I couldn't say no!

I made twenty cupcakes in total, 10 blue and 10 pink (because they don't know if the baby is going to be a boy or a girl yet!) plus the plain white iced cake. Its the best royal icing I've done so far....I was so pleased with myself!

All style and no substance!

Hello there...hope you've had a good day!

Mine has been full of meetings....I have so meetings at the moment, but that gives me so little time to actually do the work inbetween the meetings! Silly really!!

Anyway, for all you yummy mummies in the UK I hope you enjoyed your Mothering Sunday and I hope you were spolit rotten. We took mum for her annual Mother's Day afternoon tea in London (an expensive tradtion that we started by accident years ago!!). This year we took mum to a certain 5 star hotel which has a Mad Hatters afternoon tea on offer....it looked brilliant and we were so excited to go.....

However, I'm afraid it was a sad case of style over substance! Everything looked so good, and there was a lot of attention to detail. The menu was presented in a copy of Alice in Wonderland, the teas were in minature perfume bottles and the sugar cubes were in a musical box. Shame that they didn't give us enough tea strainers....or spoons...and forget to tell us that the herb butter was in fact garlic butter! They also left us sitting there for ages when we first arrived...after informing us that we only had the table for two hours! When they did finally bring us our tea they managed to mix them all up! The food was questionable...but thats a matter of personal taste rather than anything else....but the service was awful!! We'd never go back and actually we were quite pleased when our two hours were up!

Here is Lorna sampling one of their themed delights...

Not exactly the face you should be pulling at afternoon tea!

Anyway, we had a lovely time anyway....we giggled a lot!

If you're in the UK you'll know that just as we thought spring had sprung, winter has decided to put in an appearance again...it's freezing!! Thats what make's this evening's card a little bit funny...as I was inspired by all the "spring time" challenge that are about at the moment.....

I'd love to be in a warm field full of daisys at the moment, wearing one of my vintage dresses and my flip flops...instead I am wrapped in so many layers, sat in front of the heater! Hee, hee!!

Anyway, my sentiment has been stamped and coloured with my Promarkers. I have then created a fresh spring time background with a pretty yellow paper and that gorgeous daisy patterned paper. I think this makes a very pretty thank you card!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - springtime
Cupcake Craft Challenge - its only words
Crafty Sentiments - hello spring

Woo hoo! A Guest Spot!

Hello there...Happy Monday!

Well I am a happy bunny this morning, because I get to join the fab Love to Create design team once again as a Guest Designer. Thank you ladies for having me back again...its an honour to design a card for your fab challenge blog!

So, the challenge this week is to pick two of the following elements to include on your card....you can pick from die-cuts, pearls, ribbon, distressing and/or sentiment. We're spolit for choice with all those elements!!

I was lucky enough to be given a fab Bugaboo Stamp digi image to play with, I want to say a big thank you for the digi image as its sooooo cute!

So with further ado here is my card.....

Told you the image was cute....and right up my street too!!

I've coloured my teacups with my Promarkers and then added a combination of pink and brown papers/elements to finish the card.

I have used pink flowery ribbon and the cute sentiment for the challenge (there is also a bit of distressing there too!!).

For more inspiration on this challenge pop by the Love to Create challenge blog and see all the gorgeous DT cards.

I'd also like to enter this card over at Make it Monday.

Nothing makes me happier....

....than time spent in my craft room or the kitchen! As long as I am making something I'm happy! Plus I get to share the things I make with my friends and family...so everyone's happy...especially if I've been baking!!

I hope you are well and have had a good day. I popped over to the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge blog earlier to see what sketch I could play with this week and to my delight I found out I was one of their Top 3! Thank you ladies...it always means so much to me to be picked out of all the gorgeous cards that are created. I will wear my badge with pride!

The new sketch that Sweet Sketch Wednesday have for us this week is really cool too..

Here is how I used the sketch.....

Yes....I've messed around with their sketch again!! I've added a sentiment in the top right hand corner instead of a flower...I hope that's ok!!

Isn't this image cute?? I've coloured it with my Promarkers and then backed it with soft peach and blue papers. I've added my hand written statement and some punched hearts.

I always say thats the secret ingredient in my baking...I bake with love!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

A Cute Boo!

Morning! Brrr....its a tad bit cold in Aldershot this morning! Better wrap up warm!

I hope you are well today....I have to say that I am feeling much better after my lovely long weekend!

Today I have another halloween card for you....and I'm afraid its another cute one! I'm just not very good at spooky halloween cards!

I really love this DigiStamp Boutique image, hes soooo sweet!

I've used a brown recycled card blank for this card and I've topped it with that gorgeous swirly blue paper. My image has been printed and coloured with my Promarkers, and I've added some googly eyes! I created my sweet sentiment on my computer and backed it with some plain brown paper. I stamped some sweets onto plain card, coloured them with my Promarkers and added a little sparkle with my Stickles. My sweets have been attached using 3D sticky pads.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts - too cute to spook!
Crazy 4 Challenges - make a sweet treats
Aud Sentiments - halloween
DigiStamp Boutique - October challenge
Di's Digi Designs - too cute to spook!

Visiting an Old Friend.....

Hello there...Happy Monday! I hope you've had a lovely day!

Soooo....I enter a lot of challenges and visit a lot of challenge blogs...we all know that....and I seem to go through phases of which ones I visit regularly. One challenge blog that I used to visit every Wednesday without fail, but one that I haven't visited in ages is Sweet Sketch Wednesday. The ladies over there are all so talented and friendly....I couldn't resist popping by this evening to see what they've been creating.

Here is their fab sketch for this week....

Plus they have a lovely theme of celebrating women....I decided to make a card that celebrates female friendship....I love to make cakes and cards for my friends "just beacause" and so when I saw this cute freebie image everything fell into place!

Isn't she sweet?? Just put some glasses on her and it could be me!! The image is from Sliekje Digi Stamps where Angelique creates super cute images. The girl in the image does have legs...but I wanted to make her a bit smaller and so I cut them off - I hope Angelique doesn't mind!!

I've gone with pinks and soft pastel colours for this card to make it really girly, but added a bit of blue to make my image stand out. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and added a little sparkle to the cupcake with my Stickles. I've also added my sentiment in a banner.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Love to Create - thinking of you
The Pink Elephant - banners
Top Tip Tuesday - good with food

My Tip this fortnight - the ribbon on my card actaully belong's to my sister's new PJs!! Its the ribbon loops that are there to keep your clothes on the hanger. Now before you get the wrong idea, I didn't just cut off the ribbon without her knowing....but she did decide she didn't need the ribbon as she wouldn't be hanging up her PJs and so cut it off and gave it to me! What a fab way to add to my ribbon stash for free!! So what are you waiting for...go check your clothes for excess ribbon!!

Inspired by a day in the office....

.....hello there! Happy Saturday! Hope you're well today!

Sooooo.....you may know that I'm uber busy at work at the moment....I may have moaned about it once or twice already....but just in case you are in any doubt...aarrgghhh work is sooooo busy at the moment!!

I am so glad that the weekend is here!! Saturday also means that we have another new challenge for you this week over at Sweet Stampin! This week we'd like you to use your sentiment as the focal point of your card....isn't that a fab challenge!

Inspired by a particulary bad day in the office I created this cheeky card.....

I love a good cocktail! They always make me smile with their fab colours, over decorative appearance and funny names!

I 've used some plain blue backing paper, which I have topped with the cute polka dot paper. My sentiment is printed from my computer, backed with pink paper and I've add some sparkle with my Stickles. I've also added a cute little doily (that now reminds me of a cute drinks mat!) and a stamped cocktail...which has been coloured with my Promarkers and has also been attacked with my Stickles! Again, I have backed this with some pink paper.

We're joined in this challenge by our monthly sponsor

and our weekly sponsor

Saying it with flowers.....and no images!

Evening Folks!

Well another day has flown by! I was supposed to go for a run when I got home this evening, but somehow I got distracted by my craft desk! Whoops!

I have a couple of cards I'd like to share with you this evening...the first is a Mother's Day card featuring flowers....

I've used a pretty green backing paper, along with some flowery paper. My flowers have been stamped twice and coloured. I've used the first stamp on the bottom for the leaves and I cut the flowers out of the second stamp and attached them with 3D sticky pads to add some depth. I've made this card for the "say it with flowers" challenge over at Allsorts and the "for the girls" challenge over at Papertake Weekly.

Now anyone who has popped by my blog before will know how much I love my sentiments....anything that makes me chuckle is good for my cards! Thats why the "no image, just words" challenge at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week is right up my street! And here is my card...

Yep, I know I'm slightly obsessed with this Martha Stewart punch...but its soooo pretty!! So, did I make you giggle?? I'd normally add a pair of knickers to a card featuring this sentiment, but as I can't use an image I decided to focus on making the card pretty....the punched border also kind of reminds me of knicker elastic!!

Pop by all the blogs mentioned to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been made!

Thanks for popping by today, I'll be back later this week with some more cards!

A little controversial!

Hi there!

It's Wednesday....I've been to work...to Brownies and to Guides.....I then came home and got to play along with one of my favourite challenge blogs! I love Sweet Sketch Wednesdays....Arlana creates amazing sketches for us to follow and the DT are all so lovely...not only creating gorgeous cards, but also leaving fab comments. Tonight when I popped over to see this week's sketch I was delighted to see that I'd won their Grand Prize with my card last week......how exciting! Thank you ladies....I'm dead chuffed!

I've been sent some skin tone Promarkers by my fab Sweet Stampin team leader Abi.....and some bleedproof paper to stamp on! Aren't I lucky?? Thanks again Abi.....I've already started practising! Here is my card for this week's challenge at SSW:

Now I know I always say this....but this sketch is fab! I really enjoyed creating this card. The wedding theme comes from this week's challenge over at Passion for ProMarkers....and as you can see I've decided to be a bit daring with my wedding card. I wanted a more contemporary feel for this card and so opted for non-traditional colours and black lace! I wasn't sure as I was putting the card together whether it was going to work, but looking at it now I'm quite happy with it. I think the grey ribbon and button really pulls everything together.

I'm also entering this card in the Bingo challenge over at Simon Says Stamp this week....you can't beat a bit of Bingo! I've opted for buttons, lace and sentiment.

Pop over to all three blogs to see some gorgeous cards....great inspiration!

Right, I'm off to bed....I'm in serious need of some beauty sleep! Thanks for popping by today, its lovely to read your comments.
