Its Sketch Time!

Hello there!

I hope you are well and have had a fab week.....can you believe that tomorrow is December?? Where has this year gone?

I'm back today with a fab sketch challenge from My Time to Craft....here is the sketch we'd like to see in your projects....

Now you can add bits to this sketch if you like....maybe a flower here or there or a bit or ribbon....we don't mind as long as we can still see the original sketch.

I decided to get a bit creative with my patterned papers for this challenge....I'm not entirely sure why....and I'm not entirely sure its worked out well for me!!

I think possibly the teapot paper should have been a different paper...what do you think?? The cute little image is actually two separate images that I have placed together to create my tea time scene. My image has been coloured with my Promarkers. I have added some Stickles to the top left hand corner of the card in a very light pink colour.

I'm not 100% happy with this card....its that teapot paper that is not working for me!

To see how my fellow DT members used the sketch pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog - there are loads of fab cards there!

Special Christmas

Hello there,

Hope you are well today....I'm back with my second post today - this time with a challenge from My Time to Craft. We're celebrating special Christmases this week...whether that be baby's first Christmas, Christmas in a new home or a first Christmas for a married couple....anything as long as its special (and you let us know what the occasion is with the sentiment)!

Joe's sister is due to have her first baby this Christmas, and Joe is excited about becoming an uncle. I've discovered this wonderful image that I will be using when the baby has joined us....and it is perfect for this challenge too....

Isn't it a cutie?

My image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added a little bit of sparkle with my Stickles. I then went with a background of blues and baby soft colours. Finally I finished off my card with some holly that I've cut from red and green papers.

If you popped by my Sweet Stampin post earlier you will have seen a couple of photos from my Rhythm Riot weekend last weekend.....but I couldn't resist sharing just one more! We had a fabulous time at Pontins in Camber Sands - full of 1950s clothes, cars, music and dancing.

Here's me and my new car (I wish!!)....

Thanks for popping by today,
its lovely to see you!

Cause for Celebration!

Helloeee! Happy Saturday!

Well I'm back from the 1950s....and what a fab weekend we had! Rhythm Riot was brilliant this year...I shopped, danced, listened to lots of live music and watched a brilliant car rally...we even had harmonica lessons! In fact we had so much fun we're already planning next year! As you will see from these photos...Lorna and I really got into the swing of things this year.....

1950s day wear...

And 1950s evening wear.....

Anyway, this week at Sweet Stampin we are all a bit excited as its Sweet Stampin's 4th Birthday....a real cause to celebrate! I really love working with the Sweet Stampin DT - everyone is so friendly and supportive.....and very talented! So its great to be able to celebrate another Birthday with the ladies!

So, lets see your celebration cards....

A celebration really needs a cake I think, so that's what I decided to feature on my card! My huge Birthday cake has been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added some sparkle with my Stickles.

Pop over to the Sweet Stampin challenge blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week. While you're there you can also see all the prizes that we have on offer for you this week from our fab sponsors....

Hanging around at Christmas....

Hello there!

This is a scheduled post from me today....as this goes live I will be visiting the 1950s in Pontins Camber Sands! Anyone who visited my blog this time last year will know that Lorna and I went to Rhythm Riot for the first time last year, and we loved it so much that we are heading back! We've in for a weekend of live music, dancing, 1950s dresses and fab cars - we can't wait!

Enough from me though....this week we have a fab new challenge for you over at My Time to Craft...this week we'd like to see your cards feature the humble Christmas decoration....the bauble! Dressing our Christmas trees each year baubles are so varied and so pretty - so lets celebrate them with a card!

I've revisited a design that I first came up with last Christmas...

I have cut my baubles out of red and green papers, and then I decorated them with white, silver and gold pens and a little sparkle! I've kept my background simple, but just using a kraft card background with a little faux stitching. Simple, yet very Christmassy I think!

A very white Christmas....

Hello there!

Happy Hump day - we're half way through the week and also nearly half way through the month! Where does the time go?

This month we have a new challenge for you over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin.....I know I already have lots of my Christmas cards made, but hopefully this challenge will help add to your stash! Our theme this week is one that I struggle with quite a bit....we have a white on white challenge for you. You can either create a completely white Christmas card....or you can create a card with a white background and coloured image. If you go for the latter option, the only thing that can be coloured is your image.

I decided to go with this option.....

I have stamped my Christmas image and sentiment onto plain white card and coloured it with my Promarkers. I also added a little bit of sparkle with my Stickles. I then mounted this on some embossed white card, which was attached to my white card blank.

The reason I struggle with WoW challenges is because I really do love a splash of colour....in fact I love a bit more than just a splash! I find it quite difficult working with white papers....and I find it quite difficult to photograph the cards when they are finished too!

Keeping it simple!

Good Morning Peeps!

I'm back again with my second DT post of the day! This time with a new challenge from My Time to Craft....by the way have you seen that we currently have a DT call on the blog? If you'd like to join a fun loving bunch of crafters pop by the blog to find out more!

On with the challenge....this week we'd like you to keep it simple. In fact we'd like to see your Clean and Simple (CAS) cards which feature only one layer or less!

It was Joe's Dad's Birthday last week, he is a complete car nut and so I decided to get crafting with one of my car stamps....

I have stamped that fab image straight onto my card blank. I opted for Kraft Card as I felt that went well with my vintage mini. I love this stamp, the detail is just brilliant. I decided to keep it simple, adding only my stamped sentiment and a little faux stitching just to frame the card.

I'm pleased to report that Joe's Dad was very pleased with the card!

Can you hear it? Christmas is coming!

Hello there!

Eekk! Guess what...Christmas is just around the corner! I love this time of year....and I don't mind that it seems to appear a little earlier each year! I know I drive Joe and my friends mad, but I can't help it! I'm just like a big kid!

I love everything about Christmas....the movies, the TV ads, the Christmas coffee at my favourite coffee shop, the endless opportunities to bake, spending time with my friends and family. It just gives me a lovely warm glow! I have already had my first Christmas coffee of the year and I have entered rather a lot of competitions to win Christmas hampers etc!

Therefore I was very pleased when I saw this week's challenge over at Sweet Stampin...you've guessed it...our theme is "Christmas is Coming!". So what are you waiting for...get your Christmas stamps and papers out and get crafting...if you need any inspiration I'd recommend putting the odd Christmas song on in the background!

I've opted for something not particularly traditional for this card....

It might not be that red or green...but its definielt me!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and then used a selection of freebie papers that I received with a magazine this week. The sentiment was created on my laptop and the little button stickers came from the magazine too.

Right, I'm off to sample a mince pie I think....

Brrr...its a bit chilly....time for a quilt!

Hello there,

Well, if you are in the UK I hope you survived the storm on Sunday night! It was really windy here in Farnham and we lost two of our fence panels....apart from that everything else survived ok.

It's also been Halloween this week, so I hope you all had a spooky time! Last weekend I hosted a Halloween themed afternoon tea for my friends.....

I really love Halloween afternoon teas, you get to be so creative! For this tea we had snail wraps and skull cheese biscuits. We indulged in eyeball cake bites, ghost biscuits and cobweb millionaire shortbreads to name a few of the sweet treats!

To find out more and to see more scrummy photos pop by the Tea with Me and Friends afternoon tea blog!

So, on with this week's challenge from My Time to Craft...this week the weather seems to have got a bit colder and so you might have got your winter quilt out. To mirror the colder weather we'd like to see some quilting on your cards this week....all you need to do is make your background look like a quilt!

I've gone with a pink and brown colour combo that I love - I think it looks so sweet, especially when topped with a cake or two! My image is from Digi Stamp Boutique and I have coloured it with my Promarkers - adding a little sparkle with my Stickles. I've also added some faux stitching to the card and a printed sentiment.

Pop by the My Time to Craft website for more fab inspiration from the DT.

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:
