Challenge time!

Hello campers...I love Bank Holiday weekends, don't you?? Not only do we get three lovely days away from work, but its also already Tuesday evening! Woo hoo!

Long time no see I hear you cry....yes, I have been missing from my blog and not posting as regularly as I'd like. I'm not entirely sure whats happening with time at the moment, my evenings seem fly by! Next thing you know I'll be wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! Anyway, I decided to dedicate this evening to some good old fashioned crafting!

First off here is a project I've been working on for this week's challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge....their challenge this week is really different and something that I've really enjoyed.....it's an "alter it" challenge! So, I decided to take this boring plum container.....

and turn it into this pretty stickles container!

I covered the ugly plastic container with pretty paper scraps from my paper stash, along with a cute image and som paper flowers. A vast improvement on the original container! Check out the Cupcake blog for some more fab altered projects.

I also decided to make a card.....I opted for the "back to school" theme over at Allsorts for this card, as I found the perfect image in my stash...

I've used a selection of pink, chocolate and cream papers, including a really pretty flowery paper to compliment my image which I have coloured with my Promarkers. I have also added some paper flowers punched out of the pink paper and some bronze stickles for a little sparkle. I'd also like to enter this card into the "anything goes" challenge over at Passion for Promarkers this week.

Don't forget to pop by both blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

This card would also be perfect for our colour combo challenge over at Sweet Stampin this week....we want to see your cards featuring chocolate, pink and cream. Pop  over to our blog to see Team Fi's gorgeous creations.

Thanks for popping by today, its great to read all your encouraging comments. I hope to see you again soon.

Cards and cakes!

Hello there...hope you're keeping well!

I've got a couple of cakes for you today and a couple of cards! I've been a busy bee recently....what with the Brad Paisley concert last week (which was awesome), a London trip with Sheree last Saturday and a party for some visiting Japanese Girl Scouts on Sunday followed by a Birthday dinner for Anika on Sunday! It's actually Anika's Birthday tomorrow, but I thought I'd wish her a very Happy Birthday now! Here is the cake I made her...
Right, onto the cards! First off I'd like to share a card that I have made for my favourite weekend challenges....Allsorts and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge:

The challenges:
Secret Crafter - Create a scene
Allsorts - You've been framed
Pop by both blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

My second card is for this week's challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenges where they have asked to see our best gift cards. I love gift cards....a card on its own is fab, but to add a little gift too...well thats just special!

Here is my gift card:

This is a fun card to give someone who loves cocktails, as the card contains a cocktail recipe fridge magnet!  I've created the fridge magnet out of card, which I have laminated and attached a strip of magnet to the back of. The magnet sits in a little pocket on the front of the card.

Pop over to the Cupcake blog to see all the gorgeous DT gift cards.

This evening I had a lot of fun with my sister - we went blackberrying in a local park. We ended up covered in mini thorns with purple hands, but we really enjoyed ourselves and got a bumper crop! I can't remember the last time I did this, but I have fond memories of doing this as a child. I took my blackberries and instead of making the usual crumble I decided to make some cupcakes! These little beauties have a blackberry cake base, a lemon icing and are topped with a fresh blackberry.

Thanks for popping by today, I love to read all your comments.

Cutie-pie!

Morning Crafters!

Hope you're all well and ready for a new Sweet Stampin challenge! This week the lovely Dora has picked the theme for us...we'd like to see your baby cards.

We're lucky enough to be sponsored by Bugaboo Digi Stamps this week....check out their cute shop for all kinds of digi images. The DT have been given some fab baby images to play with and I liked mine so much that I made two cards...one for a little boy and one for a little girl!

Don't forget to pop by all the Team Abi blogs to see all the other brilliant DT cards this week!

Well, I'd better get my skates on...I've got a fab day ahead of me....I'm off to London with my friend Sheree for a spot of mooching around the shops and some afternoon tea! Did you know that it's National Afternoon Tea week?? It'd be rude not to celebrate!!

No card, just cake!

Evening All,

Hope you're all keeping well. I haven't posted in a week now....not sure whats happened to time, but I can't keep up! So, I thought I'd post something....but I haven't been crafting....instead I've been baking! This is a Meister Tyre birthday cake that I made for my friend this week.

I can't tell you how pleased I was with this cake....its the best I've made so far. I was also rather pleased when someone at the Birthday party asked me if I'd helped pick the cake!

Have you popped by the Sweet Stampin blog this week? We've got a fab theme this week....on the farm! Pop by and see all the gorgeous DT cards for inspiration.

Right, I'd better get going....I'm off to see Brad Paisely in concert tomorrow night at the O2....he's a country star and my sister loves him!! I'll be back later this week, hopefully with some cards!!

A little bit of glam!

Evening All,

I hope you're all having a good week. I've had a bit of a lazy evening tonight....no gym for me...no I just cooked dinner for me and Joe and did a little crafting! After this post I'm off to bed...I fancy an early night!

This week's challenge over at a Passion for Promarkers is “divas with glam & glitter”.....what a fab theme! You know me...I can't resist a little bit of glitter! Here is my lovely lady, all glamed up for a shopping trip!

I've used a selection of girlie purple and pink backing papers, along with my stamped image which I have coloured with my Promarkers. I then added a little bit of glitter to the dress and necklace with my Stickles and I added three little pink gems for some added glam!

Pop over to the Passion for Promarkers blog to see some really gorgeous DT cards!

Right, I'm off to bed now!

Sew Mad!

My goodness I've had a busy evening! After work I popped by mum's and stayed for a cup of tea and a natter...I then headed off to the gym for a mini workout and finally home for dinner and a quick card making session! Hopefully I'll sleep well tonight!!

If its Monday it must be a new fab challenge from the lovely Cupcake ladies....this week the challenge is "sew mad"...they want to see projects which feature some sewing...it can be real or faux...as long as there are some stitches on your card! For some inspiration pop by the Cupcake Craft Challenge blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

I know you saw this stamp only yesterday, but I really, really like it!

I've used a square card blank and added layers of purple backing papers which I have stamped a pretty edge on. Each layer is stuck down with 3D sticky pads near the edge to add a brilliant dimension to the card. I then added my teacup image which has been coloured with Promarkers and my sentiment. Finally I attached a little light purple backing paper at the top of the card and added some cute faux stitching. The inspiration for the layering of the backing papers came from Quick Cards magazine and I think it looks fantastic.

Colour Challenges!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope you're all well and having a lovely weekend. I've had a fab day today, Joe's been at work and so I decided to spend some time in the kitchen. Several hours later I have lemon cupcakes, dotty butter biscuits, homemade crisps (made in the microwave) and pimms ice lollies! What a fab afternoon!

As well as baking, I've also spent some time at my craft desk.....something that always helps me relax! Today I've created two cards for two different colour challenges. I love colour challenges because they push me out of my comfort zone....you know me I love pink and purple....I can't get enough...but colour challenges make me look at other colours that I often neglect.

First off we have the "Black and White" challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge:

I've kept this card very simple, using some new cute stamps that I got free with a craft magazine, a little dotty paper and a little black paper.

And secondly I have a card for the "Red card" challenge over at Allsorts this week:

The cupcake tier is another free stamp from the craft magazine, this time I've added one of my favourite sentiment stamps, along with red paper, the cute dotty paper and some red stickles for a little sparkle. Pop over to both blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards.

Right, I told you at the beginning of the post about my kitchen exploits today...well here are my goodies!

I can't believe how easy the crisps were to make...they took a little while to do and they're still crisping up at the moment...but the couple that I've sampled are delicious!

Can you see a Rainbow?

No you can't?? Well pop by the Sweet Stampin challenge blog this week and you'll see plenty of rainbows! Our challenge this week is "Rainbows"...your project can feature an actual rainbow or rainbow colours. Pop by the challenge blog and my fellow DT's blogs for some inspiration.

Our lovely sponsor this week is Tiffany Doodles who has provided the DT with some fab images to play with.

Here is my card:

I love this get well sentiment, but have never thought about using a rainbow with it before...not sure why as it makes so much sense!! Hopefully this little card will brighten someone's day when they're feeling a little blue!

So, what are you waiting for?? Show us your rainbows!!

Thanks for popping by today and I look forward to seeing your creations this week!

Christmas in August!

Hello campers, Happy Friday!

Well, this time last year I had made quite a few Christmas cards already, but I think I made a few too many and this year I decided to keep Christmas until later in the year. Well, apparently now it is later in the year and there are loads of Christmas challenges out there in Blog Land for me to pick from! However, I decided to keep it simple and enter just one challenge.....I went for the Simon Says Stamp "Christmas in August" challenge.

Although I've moved most of my craft stash over to my new flat, on starting this challenge card I realised that I've left most of my Christmas stash at mum's! So this card is a little limited....I have some stamps, but not much Christmas backing paper here!

I love this sentiment stamp, I think its very cute. I bought this with several others in the sales last Christmas! I've coloured my Christmas tree with my Promarkers and added a little sparkle with my stickles. Not much to say about the papers though!

Thanks for popping by today, hope to see you tomorrow for a new Sweet Stampin challenge!

Best Fishes!

Evening All,

I hope you're all having a fab week! I just spent the last 24 hours with Becca in Brighton....we had a fab time despite the weather today! We wandered around the lanes and I bought another 60s dress....we paddled in the sea (well I did...Becca's convinced a shark will eat her if she gets in the sea) and we had a fantastic night out.

This is the view from our hotel window....first shot is Wednesday afternoon, second shot is Thursday morning...can you spot the difference??

So, another week has flown by....I can't believe I've only got one day left of my week off!! The good news is that we have a new sketch to play with at Sweet Sketch Wednesday! Arlana has created a lovely sketch this week....

I've tried a different colour scheme again today and I have to say that I love this blue and organge combo - its bright and fresh and makes me smile! My little fishes have been coloured with my Promarkers and I've added a little sparkle with my stickles. I'm also entering this in the "hugs and kisses" challenge this week over at Passion for Promarkers. I hope the lovely Promarkers ladies will be ok with my image...its the closest thing to a hug or a kiss that I have in my image collection!

Pop over to both blogs to see some fab DT cards!

Now I mentioned above that we had a fab night out last night, well thats because we were in a bar listening to some live music...which was cool enough on its own, but then all these people started dancing and someone asked if I'd like to give it a go.....so I did...and I'm glad I did because it was soooo much fun!

Best foot forward!

Hello crafters,

so the Creative Card Crew have a fun challenge at the moment, its called "best foot forward"....and our projects can include either shoes or feet! Being the girlie kinda crafter that I am I opted for a shoes theme!

Cute sentiment, don't you think?! I'll also enter this card in the "anything goes" challenge over at Allsorts this week.

Talking of shopping, I forgot to tell you about my fab weekend on my last post. My sister and I went to the Vintage Festival at Southbank in London. We spent the morning wandering around the fab stalls, looking at everyone in their amazing outfits and buying a few bits and pieces. I wore a fab green and yellow 1960s dress that I bought recently and I managed to buy a new hat while I was there! Here is Lorna and me in our new hats!

This is a fab photo that Lorna took off me just outside the fair...

It wasn't until we got home and looked at the photo properly that we realised that it looks like the man at the end is about to slap my bottom!

Something a little bit different

Hello campers, hope you're all well today! Well, I've had such a busy weekend that I didn't get the chance to post over the weekend! I'm on annual leave this week, hence my afternoon post! I'm just pottering this week and I'm thoroughly enjoying it!

Today I have something a little bit different for you.....I've taken a look at my last couple of posts and my blog is rather pink and girlie at the moment! So, today I sat at my craft desk and decided to make a blue boys card! Shock Horror!

Tee hee....isn't he a cheeky monkey and perfect for a little boy birthday card? I've coloured my cheeky monkey image with my Promarkers. I've included a number on my card for the "how old?" challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week and the blue monochrome colour scheme is for the "monochromatic" challenge at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week.

I'd also like to enter this card at the last week of "free and easy" challenge over at Allsorts and the "whatever you fancy" challenge over at Stampalot Challenge this month. For some inspiration for any of these challenges pop by the blogs mentioned above and check out the gorgeous DT cards.

Don't forget our Christmas in July challenge over at Sweet Stampin this week, check out Team Fi's gorgeous DT cards! You've got until Saturday to enter!

Thanks for popping by today, I love reading all your lovely comments.
