Christmas Animals

Hello there,

Happy Hump Day! I hope you're having a fab week!

So, it's April and we have a fab new Christmas challenge for you over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin. This month we have a really simple theme for you.....animals....so all you need to do to join the fun is create a Christmas card which features an animal and some stamping. Simples!

Our sponsor this month is All Dressed Up and the DT were lucky enough to be given some images to play with. My image is super cute.....

I liked the image so much that I decided to make it the focus of the card and keep the background quite simple. I also like the contrast between the soft Promarker colours I've used on my image and the black sky in the baking paper.

Once I coloured my image, I simply attached it to the backing paper using 3D sticky pads.

For more Christmas animal inspiration pop by the Christmas at Sweet Stampin challenge blog and take a peek at the gorgeous DT cards that have been created. You can also take a peek at the fab prize on offer from All Dressed Up.

A little bit Christmassey...

....woo hoo....a week day post! I haven't done one of these in ages! Hope you're keeping well and having a good week so far.

The wedding last weekend was wonderful....it was a very beautiful and elegant affair in London...the bride looked stunning and everyone had a wonderful time....well Joe didn't really like his suit...as you'll see from this photo...but he did smile eventually! In the end I was really pleased with my outfit...even my oversized fascinator looked good!! The ceremony took place in a church which was lit by gorgeous candles, then the reception took place at One Marylebone...there was gorgeous food, lots of champagne and lots of dancing! A good time was had by all!

This evening I've been catching up with some card orders for Christmas...but I also had some time to make a card for myself. I decided to stick with the theme of the evening and make a Christmas card....

I'm quite pleased with this card as I have combined lots of different elements and was a bit worried it'd look a bit silly. I'd like to enter this card in two challenges:

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - borders and flowers
Allsorts - pennants or bunting (I opted for bunting!)

Right, its nearly bedtime I think!
Thank you for stopping by today.

Punches & Dies

Hello campers, hope you've had a good week!

Mine's been another hectic one.....with Joe's 30th Birthday and Joe's sister's wedding. This week I've been bowling, played on arcades, went go-karting for the first time, visited the V&A, went on a flight simulator at the Science Museum and spent an evening at The Comedy Store (this was all on Monday & Tuesday!!). The end of the week sees me back in London for the wedding - my outfit is sorted  (I've been inspired by the 1950s) and Joe has his Morning Suit.

Phew, its been hectic!! But I did have some time late one night for some crafting! The challenge this week at Sweet Stampin is Punches & Dies and we are sponsored by the fab Pollycraft - pop over to their store to see all the gorgeous digi images they have - they'll be spoilt for choice!! I was very lucky to be given the cutest little penguin to play with...he went perfectly with my snowflake punch and I got a little carried away and created two cute little Christmas cards!!

Isn't he the cutest??

So, what are you waiting for....we want to see your cute cards which feature either punches or die shapes...or both! Don't forget you also need to use a stamped image...either traditional with ink or a digi!! Need some inspiration?? Visit the Sweet Stampin blog and my fellow DT blogs...there are lots of gorgeous cards!!

Thanks for popping by today,

Christmas in August!

Hello campers, Happy Friday!

Well, this time last year I had made quite a few Christmas cards already, but I think I made a few too many and this year I decided to keep Christmas until later in the year. Well, apparently now it is later in the year and there are loads of Christmas challenges out there in Blog Land for me to pick from! However, I decided to keep it simple and enter just one challenge.....I went for the Simon Says Stamp "Christmas in August" challenge.

Although I've moved most of my craft stash over to my new flat, on starting this challenge card I realised that I've left most of my Christmas stash at mum's! So this card is a little limited....I have some stamps, but not much Christmas backing paper here!

I love this sentiment stamp, I think its very cute. I bought this with several others in the sales last Christmas! I've coloured my Christmas tree with my Promarkers and added a little sparkle with my stickles. Not much to say about the papers though!

Thanks for popping by today, hope to see you tomorrow for a new Sweet Stampin challenge!

Untraditional Christmas

Hello there, thanks for stopping by today - I hope you're well!

I have a little card to share with you today, be warned though...it's quite bright!

This fun, festive card is very girlie and perfect for the following challenges:

The layout and stamped image are from the Sunday Sketch & Stamp Challenge
The fab colour scheme is from the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge
The unusual Christmas theme is from the Cupcake Craft Challenge

I also wanted to show you the Christmas tree that Joe and I have at his flat, but the photo is currently refusing to upload onto my laptop....a case of "computer says no!" In a bid to lift my non-existant Christmas spirit Joe decided we needed the biggest tree we could find! It's actually taller than him and considering he is nearly 6 foot 4 its amazing that it fits in the flat!

I'll have to take another photo of the huge Christmas tree tomorrow and upload it later this week!

Just a quick post this evening, but thanks for popping by.

All pink and purple!

Hello there, thanks for stopping by today. I hope you're keeping well!

I have two cards for you this evening, for three different challenges. The cards also have something else in common as they both feature embellishments from The Creative Cottage shop.

My first card is for this month's challenge over at Sir Stampalot where the theme is "Travel the world", I've gone for an oriental theme using this lovely lady and fab cherry blossom backing paper from the Creative Cottage. I think the pinks and black work very well together. The layout for this card comes from a blog that I've only just discovered called Sunday Sketch and Stamp. They run fortnightly sketch challenges and the only other required element is a stamped image either tradtional or digital - I've opted for digital on this occassion. The sketch is lovely to work with and I think looks fab with the oriental theme.

My second card features my favourite colour purple and is for this fortnight's challenge over at the Creative Cottage where they have called for untradtional Christmas cards. I came across this lovely digi image when browsing their shop earlier - isn't it fab!

Although gold is a common colour at Christmas time it is usually used with reds and greens...I think it looks fab with purple too! I've used purple backing papers, along with a gold tag that I had in my stash. I attached the tree using 3D sticky pads and then finshed the card off with some lovely glitter glue.

Pop over to all three blogs to see some gorgeous DT cards...don't forget the Creative Cottage Shop too!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you'll leave a comment to let me know you've visited me today!

Happy Sunday!

Hello everyone...wow its cold out there!
I decided to spend some quality time with Joe this weekend, so I went to his garage for a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon and Joe let me loose on his Skyline....now this car is his pride and joy so I was a little nervous to say the least! He let me do some bodywork on the rear wheel arches, and I have to say i really enjoyed it!
I've got a couple of cards to share with you....first off a sparkle and shine card for this week's challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge:

Yes, its that stamp again! My sister requested a masculine thank you card, so I opted for a black and white colour combo with my favourite stamp! I've used lots of glitter for the tree...black, silver and white...I'm not sure that this picture does it justice!

The second card I have for you is a Christmas card for the Bah Humbug challenge - Rudolph the Reindeer...
I love this cute little fellow....he has appeared on lots of my Christmas cards this year! I've used a simple green backing paper with some sparkly snowflakes for the background. I then created my Rudolph from brown paper and some fab stripy paper for his antlers. I've added a cheeky smile and most importantly a big red nose! Guaranteed to make you smile!

Right, I'm off...I want my bed....it's a busy week for me this week and I think I'll need every wink of sleep I can get!

Somone special at Christmas

Morning All,

A really quick post this morning, as I need to get my skates on...but I wanted to share a card with you quickly and I know I won't get a chance after work. The Creative Cottage have given us a lovely theme this week "someone special at Christmas"...so I decided to make a card for my mum.

I don't usually give Christmas cards to my parents, probably because I see them so much, but I know how much my love loves this stamp and so I thought a card using this image would be lovely.

I've used blue backing paper, a lovely snowdrop paper and some more of that gorgeous blue ribbon for the background. I then stamped the mini version of the tree twice. I backed these with some lovely white shimmer paper before attaching them to the card with 3D sticky pads.

I then went mad with my blue and white glitter glues! Although you can't see that from this photo!

Finally I decided to handwrite my sentiment on white card and back this with some blue paper.

I now need to hope that mum doesn't suddenly become web savvy and find this post!!

Shaker card for Christmas

Hope you're all well and having a good week! Its another Wednesday...can you believe it?? I some how managed to end up at work at 7:30am this morning...ridiculously early even for me! I've also had Brownies and Guides this evening, and somehow I managed to get a card made too! Arlana has created another fab sketch this week for us over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday, pop over to the blog to see all the wonderful DT cards!

Here is mine....I've used a lot of silver card on this project and therefore it was quite difficult to photograph....so I've taken pictures from different angles!

I've opted for a shaker card this week, as I haven't made one in ages.

I've used blue and silver papers and cards for the background. Along with some lovely blue ribbon.

I filled my shaker Christmas present with metallic stars, seed beads and mini circles (from my hole punch!). I created the bow from more blue card and added a mini tag for my sentiment.

Right, I'm off for a bit of blog hopping before an early night! Thanks for stopping by my blog today and I hope to see you again soon.

Twas the night before Christmas....

.....I have a confession to make...I'm 31 years old and I still have a stocking! In fact I have two! One from my mum and one from my boyfriend! I remember the excitment of going to bed on Christmas eve as a child, trying to fall asleep so that Father Christmas would visit! Even better was waking up in the morning to find a stocking full of presents!

This week's challenge over at Allsorts is "Twas the night before Christmas", where they want to see projects inspired by the poem. I've taken the following line to inspire my card: The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

I've created a little chimney scene from paper!

I used green and brown backing paper to create my base, I then used stiff brown create the chimney breast and there is a little black mantle piece too! I've decorated my chimney with a mini rudolph banner and the all important stockings! I then decided I needed something on my mantle piece and made two mini Christmas cards, complete with sentiment! This was a time consuming project (and fiddly!), but I'm really pleased with the final card

This card is also for this week's challenge over at Bah! Humbug! Their theme is fancy folds and I've used some folds (not that fancy)  to create my 3D chimney breast. Here is a side shot of the Chimney:

Lots of Christmas cards and some exploding cakes!

Morning All,

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend. I'm in a lovely mood this morning...not sure if its the crafting, the baking or the fact that I'm seeing two of my lovely friends in a bit....we're heading off to a local food festival! Yummy! for

I love this time of year...I get to make so many cards! Friends, family and work colleagues all start requesting cards, here are some I've been working on this weekend...

....I've been using my favourite tree stamp, adding red, green and gold glitter to make it festive, I've made lots of cheeky Rudolphs and some festive penguins! I've had to stop because I seem to have run out of black card for my penguins!

One of these cards is perfect for the challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge where they have a colour combo theme this week - red and gold. One of my penguin cards is for a girl who loves the colour red....

I've used gold card and red paper for the background of this card. I've made my little penguin from papers in my stash...I accessorised him with a red and gold bow tie! The Christmas message was created on my computer and backed with more gold card. I then added a little bit of holly.

I mentioned baking at the beginning of my post....yesterday I decided to make some marble cakes....not really sure what happened in the oven, but they seemed to explode out of their cases....

....ha, ha...not exactly my usual pretty cupcakes, but they taste wonderful! Perfect on a chilly autumn afternoon with a mug of coffee!

Right, I better get going...I have a food festival to get to!

A couple of festive cards for you.....

....this evening I will be spending my time making Christmas cards...I already know I need to make rather a lot of little Rudolphs so I need to get my skates on! Before I start though I wanted to share a couple of cards with you.

First off I have my card for this month's Sir Stampalot challenge and for this month's Penny Black at Allsorts Challenge...both have a similar theme....

Can you guess the theme?

Penny Black at Allsorts - its beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Sir Stampalot - Christmas traditions

I thought this fab Penny Black stamp would be brilliant for both challenges....it always makes me laugh....can you just imagine santa bringing all his presents riding on a cow!? I've used bright red and green backing papers, and a super cute Papermania backing paper featuring lots of Christmas pressies.

My second card is for the Allsorts challenge this week, where their theme is gold and cream with a hint of red:

Now, although I didn't use a Christmas sentiment on this card, I think it would be perfect for Christmas or a Birthday or a "just because" card. I love this Kanban stamp and have used it a lot already - it seems to appeal to everyone. I've used a combination of cream and gold backing papers, along with some cream ribbon. I stamped the tree in black ink and then added some gold and red glitter glue. Finally the sentiment is gold.

Right...I actually started writing this post about an hour and a half ago...this proves just how easy it is to distract me! Since I started the post I've eaten dinner, called my boyfriend and made some yummy raspberry cupcakes that are currently in the oven!

I'm off to make my Rudolphs now before I get distracted again....although those cakes will need icing at some point! Thanks for stopping by today and I hope to see you again soon.

A little bit of Christmas...

...hello everyone, hope you're all keeping well and staying warm. I'm trying to fight off a cold at the moment and so I'm not feeling 100%. Roll on the weekend (thats not a good thing to be saying on a Monday evening!).

I haven't really made any Christmas cards in ages so I thought I'd make a couple....first of all I have something a little bit different to show you....

I like girlie cards, so I decided to try and make a girlie Christmas card! I've used gold card, along with my favourite black and white polka dot card. I used my trusty stencil to create my glam shoes. This card is perfect for two challenges that I've found in the last couple of days:

Crafty Catz - colour challenge - black and white and one other colour
Bah! Humbug! - Elegance

The second card is slightly more traditional, and it features a frosty friend:

I've used silver card and some more polka dot card for the backing, I then created my little snowman out of white card. I've accessorised with some stripey paper for his hat and scarf. This card fits in with the challenge over at Allsorts, where they are calling for projects that feature spots and stripes!

Right, now I'm off to bed...hopefully I'll be feeling better in the morning!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Nearly Time For Christmas!

Hello there! How are you today?

My lovely mum took me out for dinner this evening which was really nice...until a group of 16 young girls arrived to celebrate a birthday. I watched as they made lots of noise, laughed at other diners and generally made a nuisance of themselves...then I uttered the words that made me realise that I'm no longer a spring chicken...."I hope we weren't like that when we were their age!" My goodness! When did I stop associating myself with the younger generation?!? I then ranted for about ten minutes about good manners! My poor mum...at least she knows she brought me up properly!

Anyway, I've got a little card for you this evening that is perfect for three different challenges:

This is a Christmas card for a man....something that I've never done before!

Winter Wonderland - A male Christmas card
Charisma Cardz - Christmas

I always struggle with male birthday cards, so when I saw the Winter Wonderland theme I think I actually shuddered! However, when I started thinking about what might make a good masculine Christmas card I realised that it would fit in quite nicely with the tic toc theme over at CCT. I've kept the card layout simple and used strong contrasting colours.

Take a peek at the three blogs above to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

Right, thats it from me tonight...I'm off to watch a bit of Strictly Come Dancing! Thanks for popping by today and for all your lovely comments.

A little bit of glitter, some autumn colours and Nigella!

Hello everyone..hope you're all having a good Saturday.

I've had a lovely lazy Saturday...had a cheeky lie-in, followed by a wander around the shops and then a little crafting while watching Come Dine With Me (a true guilty pleasure) on the telly. I treated myself to the new book from Nigella Lawson....it's called Kitchen and I'm so pleased I bought it! There are so many different recipes that I'm looking forward to trying out! I love Nigella, she comes across as a normal woman who really enjoys cooking.

Right, so onto my first card....

...this is slightly different to my usual cupcake cards, which always seem to be pink or purple! The reason for this particulat colour scheme is the challenge over at Allsorts this week, where they have called for colours of autumn.

I've also been looking around blogland for some new challenge blogs...I'm so nosey so I love a bit of blog hoppy! This card also fits in with the Birthday challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog and the anything goes challenge over at A Crafty Little Place.

Since I've entered this card into three challenges, I thought I'd also enter it in the Pile It On challenge blog, their theme this week is Layers.

Pop over to all the blogs mentioned to see the gorgeous DT cards.

Since I'm off on my hols tomorrow and won't be posting again until next Saturday I thought I'd add another card too....this time it's my weekly Christmas hit! I have a very sparkly card for you...

...told you it was sparkly! This simple card is for two Christmas challenges...

Bah! Humbug! has asked us crafters to create something using our favourie meduim....whether it be digi images, stamping, embossing...whatever floats your boat! Over this year I've developed quite a passion for stamping....I'm not the best in the world at it, but I really enjoy using my stamps!

The reason this is so simple is because the theme over at Winter Wonderland is "one layer card". They basically want cards that will be easy to post...no bows or embellishments!

These are new stamps that I got in a goodie bag recently...this was the first time I've used them and if I'm honest I found the quite tricky to use. I've used glitter glue to colour the images, picking out the detail in different colours. I'm not really a huge fan of this card.

Right, sorry for the long post....I'll see you next week after a week lying on the beach! I shouldn't show off really....bet it'll rain all week now!

Thanks for stopping by today and thank you for all your lovely comments, everyone is so encouraging and supportive.

All I Want For Christmas.....

......Hello there...are you today? Time for a another Christmas challenge I think!

The Challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is "Get a start on Christmas" and the Challenge on Winter Wonderland is "All I Want For Christmas". What lovely challenges!

I decided to go with a comtemporary feel for this card and used light shades of blue for my colour scheme. I thought for quite a bit about the Winter Wonderland theme....what do I want for Christmas?? There were so many things I could have put on my card, but I opted to go soppy! I'm a romantic at heart and I always look forward to Christmas with Joe....my thinking is warm winter nights snuggled up on the sofa, watching Christmas movies and drinking mulled wine. I always look forward to the Coke Cola Chritsmas advert too! Even when I didn't have a boyfriend I always thought of Christmas as a romantic time of year.

Right, its that time in the morning and work is calling....better get a move on!

Thanks for popping by today,

Blue and Green should never be seen....

...what a load of rubbish! I've always thought that saying was nonsense! My mum says it quite a lot and nothing delights me more than making a blue and green card to annoy her! Hee, hee!

Funnily enough I showed my mum this little card and she didn't comment on the colour scheme!

So, why a blue and green card I hear you ask....it's the theme over at Cupcake Craft Challenge blog this week! Check out all the gorgeous DT cards by popping over to their blog!

This is slightly different to my normal cards as I've used a scrapbook software programme to design it. Its new software that I've bought and I'm only just learning all the brilliant things I can do with it, so I thought I'd have a dabble and see what I could create. For this card I've used a green background, and put a strip of light blue across the bottom. I've used three light blue circles, two of which have images in and one has the sentiment. I've then used the blue glitter glue "brush" to add the strip across the middle (not as good as the real thing!). Finally to make it look more handmade I printed the two images out again and attached them to the front using 3D sticky pads.

I'm quite pleased with how the card turned out. However, I don't think this will replace all my traditional card making techniques because its not as fun to do....but I can see the appeal!

Right, work is calling, I better get going! Hope you all have a fab day!

Exciting News!

Afternoon All, I hope you're all well and are having a good day!

I still quite can't believe what happened to my friend at work today...we'd popped out for some lunch and were walking back to the office when all of a sudden someone decided it would be funny to chuck a water bomb out of their car windown as they drove passed! It hit my friend Becca, soaking her all down one side and causing a nasty red patch on her arm! Charming!

Anyway, I am soooooo excited! I'm featured today as Designer in the Spotlight over on the Winter Wonderland challenge blog! The theme for this week's  challenge is Winter Wonderland and here is the card I made:

I applied about a month or so ago and I am so chuffed that the lovely Winter Wonderland ladies picked me to appear on their blog - thank you ladies! Check out their gorgeous DT cards for other winter wonderlands.

My card is made out of papers from my stash. I started with the blue starry background and built up the scene from there. I layered silver and white papers for the hills, then added some green spotty trees and the big moon in the sky.

I'd also like to enter this into the Bah! Humbug! challenge this week, which also happens to be "winter wonderland"....spooky! Again, the DT have created some gorgeous cards, go take a peek!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today....take at peek at the others that I've mentioned too....and watch out for water bombs!!

Christmas Cheer

Evening All,

Hope you are well and looking forward to the weekend! I thought I'd aim to get a card posted early this evening rather than at gone 11pm when I should be winding down!

I've used a fab sketch provided by Sweet Sketch Wednesday for my card today.....

Its a lovely sketch thats looks brilliant when finished, but was actually quite easy to put together. The main inspiration for the theme came from the Creative Cottage Challenge blog....can you guess the theme?? Yes, it's Christmas! I've used very traditional colours for this card and I didn't need a sentiment as my backing paper has my message on! My poinsettia trio in the corner is inspired by Die Cut Dreams who have called for poinsettias in their challenge this week.

If you are stuck for ideas for any of these challenges pop by the different blogs and see what the brilliant DT came up with!

Right, I'm being spoilt this evening....mum is cooking dinner for me....I've got meatballs and they smell wonderful....I'm off for some dinner!

Thanks for popping by today, see you soon!
