Get Masking!

Hello there! Happy Saturday!

How has your week been? What have you been up to?

I am quite excited this week as I have launched a new blog with my sister Lorna.....as you know we're both quite passionate about afternoon teas, and we've been lucky enough to enjoy rather a lot of different teas. We've decided to share all our experiences with you...the good, the bad and the wonderful...plus some of our own afternoon teas and of course lots of photos and the odd recipe or two! If you get a minute we'd love it if you could pop by.....

Well, its Saturday...so that means one thing...we have a new challenge for you over at My Time to Craft. This week we'd like to see your masking skills.....we'd like to see you take more than one image and mask them together on your card to make one.

I decided to go with a girly, sweet card....not exactly surprising for one of my cards I know....but I just love these images.....

Lots of pink, some polka dots and some rather large and sparkly cupcakes....what more could a Birthday Girl want??

My image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added some sparkle to my cupcakes with my Sparkles. The papers were part of a fab prize that I won from Brenda recently - thank you, I love the colours (very me!).

Pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see the great cards that the DT have created this week!

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
Crafty Sentiments - girl power!

Pop by all these challenge blogs if you get the chance....there are some fab DT cards to be seen!

Cute and Cuddly and not very tradtional!

Hello there!

Happy Wednesday.....it's lovely to see you!

Soooo...I am here today with a rather late post. This is my June post for Christmas at Sweet Stampin...which should have gone live at the beginning of the month! Silly me...some how I managed to forget completly...what a naughty DT member!!!

Anyway...I am here at last...I have joined the ladies with the mid month inspiration post! So, our theme is cute and cuddly...with a twist...as we'd like to see non-traditional colours on your Christmas cards this month!

I love this sentiment! Wish it was true though!

I've gone with a blue and brown colour combo - colouring my cheeky monkey with my Promarkers. A little glitter on the image and some faux stitching finishes the card.

Pop by the Christmas at Sweet Stampin challenge blog to see how the rest of the lovely DT have used the theme this month. You can also read about our fab sponsor this month.....

Cute and Cuddly

Hello there! Happy Saturday!

I hope you are well today and have had a fab week!

Well, cute and cuddly is the theme for our challenge at Sweet Stampin this week, but its also a current theme in my home at the moment. Last weekend Joe and I decided to get two lodgers for the house....I'm not too sure about our choice though...they are not very good at paying the rent.....

Hee, hee!

These little fluff balls are called Tinker (black and white) and Steve (the grey one)....can you guess which one was named by Joe??

Sooo....what does my cute and cuddly card look like? Well, I was lucky enough to be given a fab Stamp Fairy image....

Soooo cute!! I've gone for a bright and cheerful colour scheme, and I have coloured my image with my Promarkers. I've added some punched flowers with a little sparkle and a cute thank you sentiment.

Pop by the Sweet Stampin challenge blog to see how the other fab members of Team Abi used the theme on their cards. While you're there you can find out about our fab sponsors....

Time for tea?

Good Morning Folks!

I hope you are all well today and having a good week.

Soooo Allsorts have a fab challenge this week that was made just for me!! The challenge theme is "Time for Tea"!

Hmmm....the question here is what image am I going to use?? A cake? A cupcake? A teacup? Yes, I think a teacup with a cheeky sentiment is the way to go here.....

I have stamped my image and coloured it with my Promarkers, I have then mounted my teacup on a doiley. I've gone with a pretty paper background and a splash of pink for the border, making for a very girlie card I think. Finally I have added a bit of a cheeky sentiment.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - Time for Tea
Glitter n Sparkle - three of something - three colours...black, white and pink

Pop by all these blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created!

And before I sign off...I thought I'd leave you with a little photo.....

Well it wouldn't be tea without a little cake would it??

Something a little bit different....

Hellooeee!

How are you? I hope you are well and have had a fab week.

Soooo...I'm back today with our new challenge from My Time to Craft....and this one is something I haven't tried before. We'd like to see your "triptic" cards...what's that I hear you cry...well basically we'd like to see you cut your image into three before sticking it onto your card.

Here is my card for you.....

Rather typically for me I've gone with a cake theme for this card! One of the reasons for this is because this is a lovely new stamp I have and its quite big...so I thought it would  look ok when I cut it up!

My image has been coloured with my Promarkers, I then cut it into three and attached it to the card, finally I added some sparkle with my Stickles. To compliment the pretty cake I went with a really girlie flowery backing paper and a simple Happy Birthday sentiment. I'm really pleased with this card.

Pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see how the other fab DT members used this theme on their cards.

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Fab 'n' Funky - Happy Birthday

I thought I'd also share a couple of photos with you from my foodie trip to Clapham Common last weekend. Becca and I spent a wonderful Saturday at the Foodie Festival...eating, drinking and listening to fab live music.

Here we are on our deck chairs...

We ate some wonderful pulled pork from the new Jamie Oliver restuarant Barbecoa....

Plus we might have had the odd cocktail or two....these were rather large and wonderful Mojitos!

In the garden!

Hello there!

Happy Thursday! Sooooo...this weather has taken a turn for the worse again in the UK....the sunshine seems to have gone back into hiding again and it's been rather wet and windy this week!

Still, that hasn't stopped me popping into the garden and making sure everything is growing well. As some of you know this is the first time in years that I've had my own garden and I have really embraced it! I've been planting all over the place!

Here are my new tubs that Joe's mum gave me...

I have some pretty pots on one of my outside walls...

Here are my potatos and onions....my potatos are in need of some extra earth....

My green fingers have inspired me to create this card.....to be honest this is probably the one thing that I'd like to add to my garden. I have a pretty summer house, but I would really love a green house!

I love this stamp, its rather large, but I love the detail. I've coloured my image and added some glossy accents to the windows to give a glass effect. I've then used pretty papers and a punched border in the background.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts - in the garden
Di's Digi Designs - beautiful borders

Its all about the Doggies!

Evening Folks!

How are you today, happy hump day! I thought I'd share a quick Birthday card with you that I made for my brother-in-law Jim. As you may know Jim and my sister Lorna are the proud owners of two rather lovely Boston Terriers called Barry and Gerty.

Inspired by these two fab doggies I made Jim this card for his Birthday....

I've gone with a masculine brown and blue colour combo, colouring my image with my Promarkers. I've also added a little paw print embellishment from brown paper.

I'm really pleased with how this card turned out.

Time for a Fairy Tale

Hello there....me again! Back with my second post for today!

As this post goes lives I will be at the Foodie Festival and hopfully signing up to lots of workshops....I'm particularly interested in the champagne tasting! Hee, hee!

Soooo....I'm here with our challenge from My Time to Craft...are you sitting comfortably...then I'll begin! This week we'd like to see your projects based around fairy tales...it can be any fairy tale you like!

I went for an Alice in Wonderland theme....creating a cute invitation to a tea party!

I've made my stacked teacups from pink paper, and added some patterned tape for decoration.  I then added some definition to the cups with some slightly darker pink pens. My sentiment was created on my computer and backed with more pink paper.

Pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see which fairy tales inspired the fab DT this week!

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Sketch Time!

Hello Peeps!

I hope you are well and have been enjoying some sunshine over the last week. I really am a summer person and so I'm soooo pleased to see the sun shining - and so is my garden!

Today I am off to the Foodie Festival on Clapham Common with my best friend Becca (my last Birthday treat!), we're looking forward to the workshops and all the sampling! Then we're being joined by my sister Lorna and we are off to celebrate Becca's Birthday! In fact I'm about to share Becca's Birthday card with you...so I really hope she doesn't read this blog post between it going live at 8am and me giving her the card when I see her today!

This week we have a lovely sketch for you at Sweet Stampin....

and this is how I used the sketch....

I think this image is great and its perfect for Becca. I have coloured it with my Promarkers and I have added some green sparkle with my Stickles. Now you might ask why I gave my lady a moss coloured feather boa...well originally it was pink and then I remembered who I was making the card for and decided Becca would never have a pink feather boa! So I added a green layer on top of my pink.....and came up with moss green!! Whoops!

Head over to the Sweet Stampin challenge blog to see how the other Team Abi ladies used this sketch - their cards are all gorgeous! While you're there you can find out about the fab prizes that our sponsors are providing.....

I'd also like the enter this card in the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - all that glitters
Papertake Weekly - anything goes

Now if I'm going to a foodie festival today, I thought it was only fair that I left you with a sweet treat...

This is my fab new trio, which I love - its so pretty - and a rather nice piece of lemon and raisin cake. Susan - I hope this keeps you going until I'm back from the foodie festival!!

Thanks for popping by today,
I really appreciate all your lovely comments.

It's Summer Time!

Morning All!

Quick! Before this sunshine vanishes again lets celebrate the summertime!

I love relaxing in the sunshine, and I think there is something rather wonderful about lounging on an old fashioned deck chair...especially if you happen to be sat by the seaside! With this in mind I have created a little summer scene....

I've gone for a CAS finish, stamping my images onto the card. For my summer scene I have used some traditional deck chairs and a little seagull. I have stamped my sentiment and finished the card with some doodling.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crazy 4 Challenges - summer inspiration
Cupcake Craft Challenge - summer scene
Di's Digi Designs - winged things
The Pink Elephant - summer theme
Without words - June challenge - hot colours (thanks Squrriel!)

Calling all bookworms!

Hello there! Happy Saturday!

I hope you are well and have had a fab week!

I'm here with a new challenge from My Time to Craft...and this one is perfect for all you bookworms out there. We'd like to see you create a bookmark!

I love books....real books made out of paper...not these electronic things that are so popular at the moment. Yes, I know that makes me sound very old fashioned, but I just don't think you can beat a book!

Anyway, thats enough from me....here is my bookmark....

I love this cute stamp from Simon Says Stamp, it always makes me smile!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers, and made the base of my bookmark from brown and blue card (fab colour combo!). Finally I added some ribbon.

Pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see all the gorgeous bookmarks that the fab DT have made!
