It's your Birdday!

Hello there,

Happy Saturday! I hope you're well today.

This week's challenge over at Sweet Stampin has a fab "things with wings" theme - there are so many different things with wings so take your pick and get crafting....just remember to include some stamping on your creation!

Now prepare yourself for my card as I've gone a little crazy with the colour combo.....

I told you it was a bit crazy! But it makes me smile so I am happy!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and added a lot of sparkle with my Stickles. I have then created a background using both plain, glitter and patterned papers. Finally I added a little faux stitching as a border to my image.

There is so much going on on the front of the card....so I decided to move the sentiment inside....

For more things with wings inspiration pop by the Sweet Stampin challenge blog and take the peek at the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week. While you're there take a peek at the fab prize on offer this week from our lovely sponsor Crafts and Me.

I can make anybody pretty.....

Hello there,

Happy Saturday! I hope you are keeping well!

Well, I wonder if there are any country fans out there now humming a certain song to themselves? Shall we try another couple of lines....

I can make you believe any lie
I can make you pick a fight
With somebody twice your size

Anyone who knows me and my sister will know that we are big Brad Paisley fans and when I saw the challenge theme at Sweet Stampin this week I knew I'd find inspiration from Brad! Our theme is....."inspired by a song".

Anyone who knows me will also know that I have a little bit of a thing for a glass of bubbles....you can give me a lovely glass of Prosecco....or even better a glass of champagne and I am a happy girl! Bubbles are always special.....and make for a lovely Birthday treat....

I have gone with a red and brown colour combo, along with that fab polka dot paper. Those polka dots remind me of my favourite tipple!

I have coloured my image with my Promarkers and then added some sparkle to the glasses and the polka dots.....because everyone should sparkle on their Birthday!

So does anyone know the song yet??

It's ALCOHOL by Brad.....one of his most famous songs and the way he likes to end his live shows. Everyone sings loudly (and badly) and sways along! Its brilliant fun!

For more inspiration pop by the Sweet Stampin challenge blog and take a peek at the fab DT cards. While you're there take a peek at this week's sponsor too....

Winter Sports

Hello there,

Happy Hump Day! I do love Wednesdays....half way through the week! This week Wednesday is even more welcome as its my last day of work this week....tomorrow I am off to Germany with my family to visit the Christmas markets near the Rhine. I love that part of Germany and cannot wait to get back out there!

But before I go...we have a new challenge for you over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin, and for the last challenge of 2014 we have a winter sports challenge.

I have picked ice skating as my winter sport....and have gone a little overboard with the Christmas jumper inspired backing paper!

My image is coloured with my Promakers and I have made my ice shine and sparkle with my stickles. I have this Do Crafts backing paper for ages and thought it went well with my ice skating theme.

For more winter sports inspiration pop by the Christmas at Sweet Stampin challenge blog and take a peek at all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this month!

Hello there!

Happy Saturday! I hope you've had a fab week!

Mine has been a bit chaotic again as I have been away with work all week....this time in Leeds. I'm not a big fan of living out of my suitcase and to make matters worse the hotel I was staying at wasn't brilliant either. Oh well, I'm back home now and I have a new challenge for you from My Time to Craft! This week we have a lovely theme for you...congratulations! You can make any card as long as you are congratulating someone!

I love this backing paper so much, I think the colours are lovely. I've teamed it with a bright blue plain paper to really make my image pop. My image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added a little sparkle to the bottle and the glasses with my Stickles.

Pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see the fab cards that the DT have created this week.

Today I am taking my Brownie Pack to the Science museum....its a really big event...wish me luck!

Baby Baby!

Hello there,

Happy Tuesday!

So, I just watched the Great British Bake Off....as you can image I love that programme! This week was biscuits and tray bakes and I now want to create a biscuit tower of my own!

Earlier this evening I spent an hour or so in my craft room....I caught up on some DT cards and made some other cards. I really enjoyed myself....so all in all its been a fab evening!

Anyway, here I have a new baby card for you....

Although this card looks quite flat, that's just my bad photography skills! The little baby grow is in fact fixed to the card with mini 3D sticky pads, lifting it away from the polka dot backing paper. I have coloured my image with my Promarkers and added some sparkle with my Stickles.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts -baby
Glitter Sparkle - add some pink
The Pink Elephant - digi image
Top Tip Tuesday - Get in shape (anything but rectangle)
Papertake Weekly - Make it Sparkle

With Sympathy

Hello there, Happy Saturday!

I am happier this Saturday than most because I am finally on annual leave! Its been a rather long week....and I've worked many more hours than I should....but finally I have a week off! I'm not going anywhere...I just have some day trips planned and lots of me time! Ohhh.....and of course there will be afternoon tea! I have three different teas planned this week....one with mum, a Charlie and the Chocolate factory themed tea and another burlesque tea. Read about them over at my afternoon tea blog! As a result of all this tea I will also be running a lot this week!!

Anyway, we have a new challenge for you over at My Time to Craft and this week its an interesting one - we'd like you to create a card or project with "Sympathy" as a theme. Now I say this is an interesting theme as I love to see how everyone interprets it. Providing sympathy comes in many forms and for many different reasons, and from personal experience I know that everyone deals with situations where sympathy is given in very different ways. We saw an awful lot of sympathy cards when Dad passed away from our amazing friends and family and I was struck by how similar they all were. With this in mind I have tried to create something a little bit different....

Instead of white, which seems to dominant a lot of sympathy cards, I have chosen soft pastel colours on a Kraft background. I have also added a little bit of sparkle to my card. Now 'm not saying that there is anything wrong with the traditional sympathy cards that you see, I just wanted something a little bit different.

For more inspiration please pop to the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see what the lovely DT ladies have created this week - and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Stamping Sensations - summer colours

I'm also hoping that having this week off will mean more time for crafting and doing some blog hopping ....things that I have really missed recently!

And of course we also made time for a spot of afternoon tea while we were there! We visited Bea's Vintage Tea Rooms....a beautiful place inspired by the 1930s/1940s. Here is the tea that we ate.....

Look at those huge slabs of cake!! One was Victoria sponge filled with fresh cream and summer berries and the other is lemon meringue filled with yummy lemon curd! Find out more about the tea rooms on my new afternoon tea blog!

Hello there! Happy Saturday!

I hope you are well and had a fab week! This is yet another scheduled post for me I'm afraid...this weekend I am with Becca again...this time we're exploring the beautiful city of Bath! I went there last year, but Becca has never visited before. I can't wait to show her all the fab shops and beautiful buildings...not to mention sampling the odd afternoon tea! Hopefully I'll find somewhere new to review on our afternoon tea blog!

Anyway, I'll report back next week and let you know what we get up to! Now, on to important business...we have a new challenge for you over at My Time to Craft this week. Its a colour combo challenge this week and we'd like to see brown and turquoise feature on your cards....I love this combo its very pretty!

I've used a cute DigiStamp Boutique image which has been coloured with my Promarkers. I have added some sparkle to the bath bubbles with my Stickles.

Hello there...yes another day, and another card from me!

Hope you're having a good week so far. I'm actually in Cardiff today, as I have a work meeting there so this is a sheduled post!

After my girlie card yesterday I decided it was time for some more girliness...this time featuring lots of pink!

Told you there was a lot of pink! This is definitly a card for a girl!

I have used a combination of pink papers, both patterned and plain for the background, on top of this I have added some pretty lace and a cute mini doillie. I've added my image which has been coloured with my Promarkers and a sentiment made on my computer - both of which I have backed with some plain pink paper. Finally I added my blingy gem stones and a lot of sparkle to the image and the doilie using my Stickles!

Feeling a bit girlie....

Hello there...Happy Tuesday!

I hope you are well today! Look at me with yet another post....Joe has been spending a lot of time in the garage recently (drift season is about to start and he has cars to get ready)...this means I can spend more time crafting!

I made this card last night while I was in a real girlie mood (I had one of my friends over for dinner and we had a good old gossip)! I was inspired by the fab photo which is The Pink Elephant's challenge theme this week.....

What a pretty bed! I just want to climb in there right now! I also love this cute colour combo, yellow and grey goes together so well and makes for a very pretty card!

Anyway, the combination of my girlie mood and this gorgeous photo led me to make this card....

This is a new stamp that I bought a little while ago and I haven't used yet. Some of you might recognise the pattern though as its made by Kanban...who also make those gorgeous cake/cup stamps that I love so much!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers, and added a little sparkle with my Stickles to the top of the bath and to the towel (it hasn't come out very well on the photo, but its there I promise!). I then used a combination of plain grey and yellow papers and that gorgeous patterned paper. I have added some faux stitching...I kinda wish that was in white now!

I've left the sentiment quite vague as I thought it could make a lovely Birthday card or a Mother's Day card...or for anyone in your life who needs some R&R!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

The Pink Elephant - photo inspiration
The Corrosive Challenge Blog - all that glitters

Things with Wings

Hello there...Happy Saturday!

Hope you've had a good week.

In my new house we have a cute garden, which is full of little birdies. There are so many...Blue Tits, Robins, Sparrows, Black Birds....so many! I never knew that Joe and I were such Twitchers! Don't tell anyone, but we love watching the birds feeding from the various feeders we have set up!

And we have the perfect challenge this week at My Time to Craft to compliment this new found hobby of ours..."things with wings". It can be anything with wings...but I opted for birds.....

I opted for a clean and simple finish to the card, letting my cute birdie take centre stage! I've coloured my stamped birdie with my Promarkers and added a little sparkle with my Stickles.

I then decided that the inside of the card looked a bit boring.....so I got my stamps and Promarkers out again....

Isn't he a cutie?? Perfect for sending special wishes!

Its a tad bit cold out there!!!

Hello there! Happy Sunday....hope you've had a lovely weekend so far.

My part of the world continues to be covered in snow (it has snowed all day!!)...I have decided that this is the best method of transport....

Yes, those are my feet and yes thats Joe pulling me along!! Poor thing!! Personally I think it counts as exercise and will help him work off the yummy Welsh Cakes that he devoured when we got home....

My mum used to make these when we were little, me and my sister would be lined up next to the stove waiting to eat them hot and fresh from the griddle pan!!

Inspired by the weather outside I have created the following card today....

Just what everyone needs...a pretty mug of hot chocolate (or tea or coffee!!).

The fab layout comes from this week's sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday:

I've added a little sentiment box at the bottom...hope thats ok SSW ladies!!

My pretty mug image has been paper pieced, and I've gone with wintery blue colours....I love that blue cloudy backing paper, it goes perfectly with my punched snowflakes. I've added a little sparkle to the snowflakes using my Stickles.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Fab Sketch!
Love to Create - Sparkle & Snowflakes

Phew! Its Hump Day!

Hello there! I hope you are well.

Well I don't know about you, but I am really pleased that its finally Wednesday evening! Its been a long, long week....and there have only been three days so far! Yesterday was officially my longest day ever in the office....I was there was 12.5 hours!! Not the best!! And today I've spent 4.5 hours on trains travelling to and from our Hospital in Warwick! It was a good day...but after my mammoth day yesterday I could have done without all the travelling!

So when I got in I decided it was time to catch up on some challenges! I've gone girlie this evening with a rather pink card.....

I have to say that I am very pleased with how this card has turned out...its good to be positive!! Its probably to do with using one of my favourite colours and one of my favourite images....couldn't you just sink your teeth into that yummy looking cupcake?

The image has been coloured with my Promarkers, and I have added some sparkle with my Stickles. The layout comes from the fab sketch over at Sweet Stampin this week...

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - fab sketch!
Top Tip Tueaday - hearts
I Heart Promarkers - pretty in pink

Keeping it Simple

Hello there....is it only Thursday?? Why is this week going by sooooo slowly?? Surely if I've had a Bank Holiday Monday the week should whizz by!!

Today I have a clean and simple card to share with you.....

Being one of those rather girlie crafters I always struggle a little when it comes to thinking of you cards. Trying to get the balance right is something I find a bit hard...so when I made this one I decided to go down the clean and simple route. Using just two stamps and some sparkly Stickles.

I love this mini tree stamp, and some of the eagle eyed of you might notice this is a smaller version of another one of my favourite stamps! I think its very elegant and works for so many different occasions.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Pink Elephant - thinking of you
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
Alphabet Challenge - only one colour plus white (black and white)

Pop by all these fab blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created.

Star Struck!

Happy Tuesday Folks, hope you're keeping well.

Today we have another challenge for you over at Celebrate the Occasion...this week we are seeing stars with a "Star Struck" challenge....we'd love to see your cards which feature at least three stars!

I've opted for a girlie, sparkly card for this challenge....

I'm really pleased with how this card has turned out, I love the colour combo and think it works really well with the cupcake and the sparkle. I've added grey backing paper to my card and topped half of it with some pink and white polks dot paper. My image is coloured with my Promarkers and I've added a little sparkle to my cherry on top with my trusty Stickles. My cupcake is fixed to the card using 3D sticky pads. I've made the sentiment on my computer and backed it with some more pink paper before fixing it to the card. Finally I added three dinky pink stars. Soooo sweet!

Don't look at the light!

Evening All!

I hope you're well this evening and have had a good day. I've just got in from an evening with mum and Lorna at a local Christmas market, it was great fun and I bought a couple of gifts....plus sone things for me!

Before bed I wanted to share a quick card with you, this glam little creation is for the "Don't look at the light" challenge this week over at Cupcake Craft Challenge. With the party season just beginning the lovely Cupcake Ladies want to see everything that sparkles and shines on our creations this week!

For my glam Christmas card I have used a gorgeous pink glitter backing paper, topped with a gorgeous silver shoe, accessorised with a blue sparkly gem! I hope this is shiny enough for the cupcake ladies!

I'ved also been busy in the kitchen (no surprise there!!), I've made our Christmas cake this year and I was wondering how to decorate it, when I saw these cute little fellows in a craft book. They are made out of sugar paste and just make me smile....I can't wait to finish off the cake!!

Right, I know its early still, but I'm all shopped out and my bed is calling!

A bit of sparkle and bling!

Hello campers, hope you're well today!

Well, I had an amazing start to the week yesterday....my lovely car broke down on the way to work at 7am yesterday morning! I was on the A3 at the time, and luckily managed to pull into a service station...where I waited for 90 minutes to be recovered back to a local garage near my home! I then had to get the train back passed my flat again to work.....my commute took a total of 5 hours from start to finish!!!! It turns out that all I'd done was snap an alternator belt and this was easily fixed by my boyfriend and cost me just £4.50...shame the recovery cost me £78!!! Things can only get better!!!

Anyway, I decided it was time for a little sparkle on my blog and I guess some of the challenge blogs out there felt the need for a little sparkle too (who can blame them!!).

This sparkly little number is for two different challenges....

Isn't she cute and sparkly? I've used pink and blue backing paper, along with some fab sparkly pink paper. I've coloured my image using my Promarkers and I've added a little more sparkle with my yellow Stickle. This card is for the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Sparkle and Bling
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Anything goes as long as it sparkles (my kind of challenge!!)

I've also added a lot of tiny faux stitches to this card, so it would also be perfect for our fab stitches challenge over at Sweet Stampin this week....check out all the gorgeous Team Fi DT cards on our challenge blog!

Thanks for popping by today, hope to see you again soon!
