Seeing spots....and stripes!

Hello there!

I hope you're well today and have had a good week!

Today I'm back with a new challenge from Sweet Stampin and this week we want to see your cards featuring spots and stripes.

I have opted for a black and white colour combo for this card with a splash of blue.....

I have used Promarkers to colour the image and Stickles to add a little sparkle to the bubbles!

For more spots and stripes inspiration pop by the Sweet Stampin challenge blog and take a peek at the fab DT cards that Team Abi have created this week.

Hello there!

Happy Saturday! I hope you've had a fab week!

Mine has been a bit chaotic again as I have been away with work all week....this time in Leeds. I'm not a big fan of living out of my suitcase and to make matters worse the hotel I was staying at wasn't brilliant either. Oh well, I'm back home now and I have a new challenge for you from My Time to Craft! This week we have a lovely theme for you...congratulations! You can make any card as long as you are congratulating someone!

I love this backing paper so much, I think the colours are lovely. I've teamed it with a bright blue plain paper to really make my image pop. My image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added a little sparkle to the bottle and the glasses with my Stickles.

Today I am taking my Brownie Pack to the Science museum....its a really big event...wish me luck!

Get fancy with your folds!

Hello there! Happy Saturday!

I hope you are well and have had a fab week!

Soooo...it's Team Abi's turn to host a challenge this week at Sweet Stampin and we've got a really fab challenge for you - this week we want to see fancy folds on your cards.

Now I'm the first one to put my hand in the air and say my cards are always the same...sometimes I use gate fold cards, but in the main I just use plain old square card blanks. Its not because I don't like fancy folds....in fact I often find myself gazing in awe at other crafter's fancy cards. No, I'm just plain old lazy!

You might think this kind of challenge would have me heading for the hills.....but I actually really relished the challenge to try something new. I got on the Internet and started looking for card folding tutorials......in the end I opted for a stepper card....

Considering I have never attempted a stepper card before I was rather pleased with how this one turned out. I suppose I could have used some more papers or embellishments.

My images are both coloured with my Promarkers and I have added a little sparkle to the images with my Stickles. I have gone with polka dot backing papers to echo the bubbles that come with a glass of champagne. Finally I added some cute buttons.

Pop by the Sweet Stampin challenge blog to see what other fancy folds Team Abi have been creating this week! While you're there you can learn all about our sponsors for this challenge....our monthly sponsor:

More love!!

Told you love was all around!! Hee, hee....I'm back with today's challenge from My Time to Craft...which happens to be "love is in the air".

Now this can be a valentine's card...or a wedding card...or an anniversary card....in fact it can be any card that celebrates love!

Now, if you popped by earlier you'll know that I've been poorly this week and its really messed my week up...even causing me to get me DT cards confused! Well I think this probably shows in my card today.....

Its a bit simplistic I'm afriad and quite similar to last week's card too!

I've stamped my sentiment and the gorgeous glass image. I've coloured some of the image with my Promarkers and added a little sparkle with my Stickles. I then took my pen for a walk around the edge of the card...and added some tinney tiny hearts!

Birthday Bubbles!

Good Morning! Happy Saturday!

Hope you're well today. Well long time no see!! Life has taken over some what this week and I haven't made any cards or posted since last weekend! How terrible!!

Me and my friends celebrated Halloween last weekend with our Halloween themed crafternoon tea...it was so much fun! We had spooky music playing, ate spooky treats and made spooky felties! Later in the evening we watched spooky movies! It was such a fab Saturday....here is our table dressed and full of homemade tasty treats.....

As well as little ghost cakes, we had a dead-grass pie (my sister's spooky version of a key-lime pie) and these adrorable ghost biscuits.....

So its another Saturday and that means its time for a new challenge over at My Time to Craft...and I have to say that I really enjoyed making the card for this challenge! This week we have a little colour combo challenge for you...we'd like to see your pink and brown creations! I love this colour combo....I think its so pretty.

Here is my card....

I've teamed my plain brown backing paper with some pretty pink patttenerd papers and a cute mini doilly. I think this gives that card a bit of a shabby chic feel.

I've coloured my cute image using my Promarkers and I have added a little sparkle to the Birthday bubbles with my Stickles!

Putting on the glitz!

Morning everyone...hope you're having a good week so far!

I've been working on a special card for someone's Birthday and I wanted to share it with you because it fits in with several challenges this week. This card is for someone lovely who is really into her music, I hope she doesn't read my blog...but just in case she does I'll keep this anonymous and a little bit vaugue! I've started making larger cards recently and this is one of those - A4 in size.

Ha, ha...ok I've realised my mistake...her name is on the card! Ok, so now I've got my fingers crossed that she dosen't visit my blog!

So, which challenges does this fit with? Firstly Papertake Weekly has a "putting on the glitz" challenge this week...you all know I love a little bit of sparkle and this card is no exception! I've used a combination of sticky gems and stickles on each of the little rectangles to add a little glamour! Don't forget to pop over to the Papertake blog and see the gorgeous DT cards!

The second challenge is one of my favourite themes...Simon Says Stamp have asked us to create our own embellishments this week - fab! I've made my own little dress, pair of wellies and a champagne bottle....all of these embellishments are attached to the card using 3D sticky pads to make them pop from the card. I really enjoy creating things from paper and so this challenge was right up my street! The DT have created gorgeous embellishments for their cards...lots of lovely flowers can be seen on their blog.

Thanks for stopping by today, I'm glad that I seem to have got the crafty bug back again! See you soon.

Good advice....

Afternoon all - what a lovely day I've had...I'm at a craft fair in Liss tomorrow so I decided to take an annual leave day today from the job which pays all the bills! I had a lovely lie in, watched some craft TV, got all my cards ready for tomorrow, prepared dinner for some friends tonight, made some yummy brownies and made lots of new cards!! Utter bliss!!

Here is one of my new cards...its a Birthday card which features some good advice....

I love finding new and unique quotes for my cards, as I think they make people smile...this one from Lucille Ball is a perfect example! I decided this was a girlie girl and so I've used two different pink backing papers. I then added my sentiment, which I found using Google.

Finally I thought about what topper I should use to compliment my sentiment and I decided that one of my favourite ways to celebrate my Birthday is with a glass or two of champagne! So I made my champagne bottle and glass out of scrap paper, and once attached I added a little glittler glue to add some sparkle!

I'm entering this card into this week's Cute Card Thursday challenge. Caz is celebrating her 21st wedding anniversary this week (Congratulations!!) and she set the theme for this week's challenge - anniversaries. It doesn't have to be a wedding anniversary...it can be anything you celebrate every year....so I think this fits quite nicely! The DT have all come up with some gorgeous cards, take a peek here to see them all.

I've just had a nibble on the edge of the brownies that I made earlier and they are rather delicious, so I think I'm off for a cup of coffee and a piece of brownie! I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and I'll be back on Monday!

Thanks for stopping by,

Congratulations!

Evening All! Hope you're all well on this rather miserable evening.

I'm a little over excited at the moment as mum just took me to our local Tescos....yes this may sound odd to you and you may be questioning exactly why this has heightend my mood...but picture this...I've been a non-driver since November thanks to one dodgy knee! Only able to go to places when somone is around to take me....this is rather limiting to be honest! Although I can't thank my lovely friends and family enough, they've all been fab over the last couple of months. This evening I was moaning about running out of the basics like tuna for my sarnies and my lovely mother offered to take me to Tescos! I spent a small fortune after wandering around for ages, but felt soooo liberated! Hee, hee!

Anyway, no challenges tonight...I just wanted to quickly share some cards I've made this evening which feature handmade champagne bottles that I've crafted. These are so simple to make, you just cut the main bottle shape out of green card, and then the lable and neck bit out of gold card. Stick them together et volia!
To add a bit of glitz I've curled and attached some gold wire to the back of the bottle and then once the bottle is secured on the card I had a little gold glitter for the bubbles!

For both of these cards I've secured the bottle using 3D foam pads, lifting the bottles off the card. This looks great when the glitter is then added to the card below.

You can make these for loads of different occassions - they also look good with a pink bottle base and silver lables. As you can see from the second card, champagne glasses can be easily created too. I've used a gorgeous white shimmery card, and added a little more glitter glue to add some detail.

I've also been working on another project this evening, which I am very excited about as its somehting I've been dreaming up for a while now. I can't share it this evening though as its still drying at the moment...but watch this space....

Thanks for stopping by folks.
