Best of British!

Evening Folks, hope you're all well today.

So, its another Monday and its May tomorrow....where is time going this year?? One good thing that comes with every Monday is a new fab challenge from Cupcake Craft Challenge and this week they have a fab "best of British" photo inspiration challenge for us. Here is the photo....isn't it fab...

We've got a traditional red telephone box, some scrummy fish and chips and my favourite.....afternoon tea!

Soooo....heres what I came up with....

I took the red from the telephone box and then I focused on the tea bit! I've got my teapot and cups....all I need now is the cakes!

Pop by the Cupcake Craft blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards this week.

I'm also joining in the fun at Make it Monday again this week....pop by and see all the fab cards that have been created this week....its great inspiration!

Talking of inspiration...a month or so ago I saw some fab little paper birds in a craft magazine which I loved. Tonight I finally got around to making some myself....here they are featuring on a leaving card that I've made for someone at work....aren't they cute with their googly eyes!!

Thanks for popping by today,

Something cute and scrummy!

Happy Sunday folks, hope you're all well.

Soooo.....today I have a cute little card to share with you....be warned its fluffy, a little cute and scrummy!!

I'm not entirely sure about the colours I've used, but I do love this sketch from Lili's Little Fairies - its really cute! I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

CES Challenge - candy & cupcakes - show something sweet on your card
Cute Card Thursday - animal magic

I spent yesterday afternoon in the kitchen.....baking lots of scrummy cupcakes! I decided to experiement with flavours and so took one basic batter mix and then experiemented with mini cupcakes....heres what I came up with! There is a big coffee cake with vanilla frosting and a big blueberry cake. Then I made a mini baileys cupcake, a mini cola flavoured cake and two mini lemon cupcakes (one with citrus strands and one with lavender crystals). Then I made my favourite one...peanut butter cupcake with a chocolate ganche and sprinkled with a little sea salt - yummy!!

Something a bit circular

Hello Folks - Happy Saturday!

Hope you're well and have had a lovely week. The weathers been a bit weird again in Aldershot.....lots of wind, rain and some sunshine all rolled into one!

Well....another Saturday brings us another challenge over at Sweet Stampin. We've still got Joanna Sheen as our monthly sponsor this month and this week we are joined by Dis Digis as our weekly sponsor!

This week's challenge is anything but square.....we want to see your shaped projects this week....any shape you like as long as its not square! I decided to be a bit brave and do a circular card...I'm not a huge fan of making circular cards as they always end up wonky, but I decided to give it a go. I was also lucky enough to pick an image from Di's Digis....and I picked a real cutie.....

Told you my circles are wonky!! Still, I think it adds to the charm to this cute card! I've coloured my fab image with my Promarkers and used some pink and blue backing papers and a little paper lace border. I've highlighted the fur collar on the coat using some stickles. The sentiment was created on my computer and backed with some pink card.  I have to say I'm really pleased with how this card turned out....I do love girlie cards!

Pop by the Sweet Stampin blog to see all the other DT cards.....they're all really cute!

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you have a fab Saturday!

Its a tad bit windy out there!!

Hope you're having a good week and haven't been blown away in all that wind....not sure whats worse really the gusts of winds from today or the heavy rain from earlier in the week!! Both making driving my little car a nightmare!!

Anyway, enough of my weather moaning...it could be a lot worse....time for some crafting instead!! I haven't posted since Monday and so I have some challenges to catch up with! Here is my card for today....I've gone with something a little bit different today:

I love this pretty colour combo, I think it makes a really sweet card. I've used a stamp that I've had for ages but never used....I think it makes a lovely focal point for this card. I've coloured it with my Promarkers and added some die cut flowers in the bottom right hand corner.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly - that cute sketch
Passion for Promarkers - cut it out (use die cuts)
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
DYSU - Case the DT - be inspired by the DT creations - I loved the flower image that Ren-Yi used on her card and so decided to use flowers on my card!

Pop by all the blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week!

By the way....Passion for Promarkers have a mini DT call at the moment...pop by their blog to find out more!

Thanks for popping by today,

Another Monday....

Well.....that was my lovely week over with! I'm back at work and I've nearly forgotten that I've been on holiday at all....apart from my little pot belly that I've gained from all the food and drink I consumed last week!!! Hee, hee!!

Anyway, nothing like a bit of crafting to make you feel a bit better! Sooooo.....I've got a couple of cards for you this evening...first up something a little stripey!

This gorgeous layout is from the sketch at Allsorts this week, isn't it lovely? And the stripes are for this week's stripey challenge over at DYSU.

And here is my second card.....another fab sketch....

This time the sketch is from Pollycraft (as it that gorgeous image that I love!!). I'm also entering this card in the material girl challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge....that shocking pink strip is material and I've layered that with some ribbon too. I'd also like to enter this card in the Make it Monday linky party!

Pop by all these blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week.

Right, I'm off....I've got some bread proving in the airing cupboard and I can't wait to get it in the oven! Yummy!!

Thanks for popping by today and I hope to see you again soon!

What a week!

Well, I have to say I've had a fun packed and very eventful week! You may have noticed that I haven't posted since last Tuesday which is a bit odd for me....well I was really lucky and mum whisked me away to Bath for a couple of days! I've had soooo many Birthday celebrations this year and Bath really was the icing on top of the cake - what a wonderful place....I actually wish I lived there (although I think I'd be very poor all the time!!).

Soooo...this morning I've finally had my oven door fixed (so I can start baking again!!) and I've been catching up with my card challenges.

After the no pink challenge at Sweet Stampin this week I decided that pink was the way to go this morning....with one of my favourite stamps....

This card features loads of my favourite things....pink, cooking, buttons, lace, stitching and of course a bit of bling! I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Inspired by a film - I've been inspired by all the cooking in "Julie & Julia"....if you haven't seen this fab film, you really should!

Simon Says Stamp - this cute layout is inspired by the sketch created by Dawny this week

CES Challenge - buttons - the more the merrier!

Passion for Promarkers - pink, pearls and lace.....to my dismay I only had one actual pearl (see bottom right hand corner), but I also fab these gorgeous pearly buttons! I've gone for paper lace punched using my Martha Stewart border punch and of course I love pink!! And of course my image is coloured with my Promarkers!

I've got one last Birthday surprise this afternoon (yes another one!!), my fab friend Alex is taking me somewhere....I have no idea where, but I have to wear a pretty dress!! I better go and get ready...I'll be back tomorrow to tell you all about it!

Thanks for popping by today,

Not the best colouring!

Helloooeeee!

Thank you to everyone for their lovely Birthday messages, I had such a lovely time this year and its so nice to read everyone's comments too.

I'm back! I've had a fab 24 hours....Joe whisked me off to Bournemouth yesterday afternoon as a Birthday surprise! We paddled in the sea, walked along the beach and stayed in a fab hotel. Then today.....we went to Monkey World! Such a fab place! Yes, I'm a big kid at heart and I don't care!! Joe loves the chimps and made a friend who he wanted to bring home!

As well as the two cards that I posted yesterday, I also started another one which I've had the opportunity to finish off this evening.....I'm not as happy with this one as my colouring is rubbish! However, I love the layout and so decided to share it with you anyway....

See what I mean.....rubbish colouring!

I want to enter this card in the following challenges:

Digi Doodle - paper lace
Papertake Weekly Challenge - a stitch in time (there is faux silver stitching on the grey paper lace!)

I hope this isn't too girlie for a man's card.....I always seem to make things a bit girlie!!

Birthday Candy!

EDIT - Candy draw is now closed.....thanks for joining in and don't forget to check and see who the lucky winner is!!

This is a sticky post and will (hopefully) stay at the top of my blog until Monday 16th April...to see my current posts please scroll down!

Well, its only two weeks until my Birthday and I thought I'd celebrate with some Birthday candy! Anyone who knows me knows that I get a little bit overexcited at this time of year...I thought as I got older I might dread my Birthdays a little more....but no fear...33 is fast approaching and I'm just as excited as ever!

Sooo....here is my candy...there is a little bit of everything here....if you'd like to play along please leave me a comment below. I will pick a comment out of a hat (or via Mr Linky if I've figured out how to use it by then!) on my Birthday on the 16th April at 12pm.

If you want to become a follower of my blog thats fab, but you don't have to! Equally if you'd like to spread the word about my candy that would be brilliant too!

Have fun and don't forget to pop back to see who has won!

Happy Monday!

Hello there...hope you're having a wonderful Monday!

Today is my Birthday and so far its been a blissful day.....Joe had to go off to college this morning and so I had a nice little lie in and I've been crafting ever since! He'll be home soon and I have no idea what the afternoon holds for me!

Soooo....thank you to everyone who played along with my Birthday candy....the lucky winner, pulled from a hat, is Elaine! Well done hun, please send me an email with your address so I can post off your goodies!

I'm very pleased with my cards this morning.....here is the first one....

I know Easter was a couple of weeks ago, but I love this image and thought it went really well with my cute papers and buttons! I've been practising my Promarker colouring (inspired by the gorgeous Birthday cards that the Sweet Stampin DT sent me - thanks ladies!) and I'm actually really happy with this image. I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts - buttons and thread
DYSU - bling (I've added stickles to my easter eggs and butterfly)
CES - paper piercing (its around the blue paper)
Pollycraft - cute critters
Lili's Little Fairies - transport - I hope the pogo stick counts!

I've also made a second card this morning....

Instead of my Promarkers I've used my trusty pencils to colour this cute LOTV image. I've used my glossy accents on the window pane to try and make them look more glass like and I've added some stickles to the water drops. I love this fresh colour combo....not one that I'd usually go for, but I think it looks really pretty. I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Spring flowers
Cupcake Craft Challenge - in the deep end (add depth)
Papertake Weekly - april showers / water everywhere
Simon Says Stamp - April showers bring spring flowers

Pop by all the challege blogs mentioned to see the wonderful DT cards that have been created this week!

Girlie....but no pink allowed!

Hello Folks, hope you're well today!

I have a confession to make....this post is rather late! Whoops!! I had a post scheduled for yesterday morning...but it didn't work properly and I've only just noticed!! Its been a busy weekend - with lots of Birthday celebrations for me....I'm so lucky to have such wonderful friends who have spolit me rotten!!

Anyway, enough about that.....this week's challenge over at Sweet Stampin is "go girlie"...but with an added twist as there is a ban on all things pink! Regular visitors to my blog can imagine the panic on my face when I read this challene....I LOVE pink!!

Luckily I've been inspired by the fab digi image that I've been given by Pollycraft...the wonderful sponsors for this week's challenge.....pop by their store to see all their gorgeous images. Here's my card....

Isn't that a cute image??

I'm really pleased with how this card has turned out - I love this blue and red colour combo and think the gingham papers are so sweet.

We also have the fab Joanna Sheen joining us again this week as our fab monthly sponsor.

So what are you waiting for....lets see your non-pink girlie creations!

Don't forget you also have one more day to enter my Birthday candy...its so easy to join in and you could win some cute candy! Pop by the post to read more!

Something New....

....and for once I haven't bought it!

Happy Tuesday Folks.....don't you just love bank holiday Mondays...its already Tuesday evening! Woo hoo! Soooo...I was lucky enough to win a challenge recently and was awarded a $10 gift voucher at Digi Doodle....so a little shopping was in order! There was so much to choose from, but I finally decided on a selection of vintage style images.

As I was wandering aroung their shop, drooling over the images I thought I'd pop by the Digi Doodle challenge blog too and discovered that this week's challenge is "something new".....perfect for my new digi images!

This is quite a detailed image and I'd usually opt out of using my Promarkers when colouring an image like this, but tonight I decided to challenge myself and give it a go! I've coloured the pretty image with my Promarkers and then mounted it on white paper for a clean and simple white on white card.

I'm pleased that I tried out the Promarkers...the colouring isn't too bad...and practice makes perfect!

I'd also like to enter this card in the "white on white" challenge at Passion for Promarkers this week.

Pop by both challenge blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

Thanks for popping today and if you fancy trying to win some candy pop by my Birthday candy post!

Spring is in the air....

...well maybe not today....not sure about you, but the weather today in Aldershot has been on the grey and damp side!

I hope you've had a lovely Easter weekend, whatever you've been up to. Mine has sped by...I've fitted so much in and I can't believe its time for work again tomorrow! Never mind....its only a four day week...and then I have a week off! Woo hoo!

Anyway, the theme for this weeks challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week is "spring is in the air" so I ignored the weather outside my window and came up with this sweet creation....

I've used a selection of plain and flowery backing papers, along with a pretty white border stamped by my Martha Stewart stamp. I've coloured my image using my Promarkers.

I'd also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Make it Monday - my first time joining in here!
Anything Goes - anything goes challenge - my first time here too!

Pop by all the blogs mentioned here to see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week!

As well as the Easter afternoon tea that I made for mum and my sister I've also been in the kitchen baking a birthday cake for my boyfriend's brother-in-laws Birthday! He is a keen meat eater and so we decided he might like a cow cake for his Birthday....I think this was probably a bit too cute for a 33 year old man....but I was really pleased with it!!

Talking of Birthdays...don't forget about my birthday candy...you can still join in until 16th April...just leave a comment on the post to be entered into the draw!

Happy Easter

Late Saturday Night Greetings!

I hope you're well and having a lovely Easter weekend. I've had another busy day...Lorna, Jim, Mum and Barry visited me today...we had an Easter inspired afternoon tea, including egg shaped egg sandwiches!

In the middle of eating all these goodies and walking Barry I also had time to make a cute little Easter card...this is for several different card challenges:

Secret Crafter Saturday Challege - Easter
Allsorts - colour bingo - Green, ribbon, pink
DYSU - friendly critters
CES Challenge - swirls and pearls

And here is the card.....

As some of you might know, I love this little cutie...she never fails to make me smile! I've used some green backing paper, topped with a little pink gingham and a green gingham ribbon. I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and then backed with a little plain pink backing paper. I then added a stamped swirl and highlighted this with some mini pink pearls. I've never stamped directly onto a card before and it was a bit nerve wrecking....I'm also not sure that I like the effect, but at least I gave it a go!

Don't forget to pop by all the DT blogs mentioned above to see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week.

My Birthday candy is still running on my blog - its soooo easy to enter just leave me a comment on the post and you'll be entered into the draw on 16th April. There are stamps, dies, buttons, flowers and paper to be won!

Thanks for popping by today,

I want Candy!

Happy Friday Campers, hope you've had a lovely day!

Mine has been spent with Joe and our friends at Wheels Day in Aldershot - a huge car show featuring fab vintage cars from all eras! I found my favourite one...what do you think...

I can just picture myself behind the wheel!

Anyway, after a lovely day I came home and I've had some time for a spot of crafting! I haven't caught up with my Sweet Sketch Wednesday card this week...so decided I better get a wriggle on this evening!
Here is the fab sketch that Arlana has created for us this week, its a cracking layout! Pop by theie blog to see what the DT created this week.

And here is my interpretation.....

Don't you just love that stripy backing paper...reminds me of rock. The challenge this week over at Cute Card Thursday is "I want candy"...they want to see sweet inspired creations and I think this fits the bill! I've made my sweets a little more appealing by adding some sparkle with my stickles after colouring them.

Thanks for popping by today, I love reading all your comments. Don't forget that I've got Birthday candy...its easy to join in, you just leave a comment on the post and you might win some fab craft stash!

My favourite tool....

Woo hoo! Its the end of the four day week and a lovely four days lie ahead of me! Considering this has been a short week it seems to have taken a very long time to get to Thursday evening!

The challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp is "use your favourite tool"....so I decided to take a look at my cards and see what tool I use the most....can you guess?? Its my Martha Stewart border punch! I love it! I think its a favourite because its soooo girlie!

Sooooo, here is my card using my favourite tool...

I'm really pleased with this card....its sooo girlie...it features a cupcake and there is dotty backing paper...what more could a girl want on her Birthday??

Change in weather!

Hello Folks, Happy Tuesday!

I hope you've had a fab day....what is your weather like? I can't believe the snow that has been falling in Scotland! Amazing! In Aldershot its grey and a bit wet....no snow thank goodness!

While we're talking about the weather...the challenge this week at A Passion for Promarkers is "whatever the weather" and here is my card....

This card is inspired by my journeys to and from work...believe me you really know when its windy when you're driving a soft top! I feel like this little bunny on a regular basis!! I've coloured my cute image with my Promarkers and have added some doodling around the edges.....inspired by the lovely Fi!

I'd also like to enter this card in the anything goes challenge over at Papertake Weekly Challenge.

Now remember my easter eggs from the weekend? Well I've now added some extra decoration and I have to say I am dead impressed with my efforts! I've created swirls using tempered white chocolate and added some coloured sugar flowers. What do you think??

Thanks for popping by today and don't forget about my Birthday candy!

Been sewing!

Happy Monday Folks!

I had a nightmare journey home tonight...it took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to do my usual 40 minute drive!! I managed to miss my Zumba class!! So what to do to help me relax?? You know the answer....I got crafting!

Cupcake Craft Challenge has a really cute sewing box challenge this week...they want to see anything on your card that you could find in your sewing box. So I got my pencil out and got faux stitching!!

Any regular visitors to my blog will recognise this stamp....a firm favourite of mine! Along with a new favourite sentiment...guaranteed to make any of my friends smile! Just like my crys of "Its not wrong, its homemade" when we're all crafting together. I just love the beige backing paper, it has a really faint old newspaper print on it.

I'd also like to enter this card in the "sew it" challenge over at DYSU

Pop by both blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards!

While you're here I thought I'd also share some of my other baking from yesterday. You might have already seen my scrummy chocolate easter eggs....well here are some of the biscuit variety. My icing isn't as dainty as I wanted it, but these butter biscuits are really tasty!

Thanks for popping by today,

Feeling a bit like Willy Wonka!

Hey there folks, how are you today?

Well, I have had a lovely weekend...its the first one in ages where I had nothing planned and although I've had a fun month full of adventures I was really pleased to have a weekend to myself! I've spent loads of time crafting and in the kitchen - no surprise there really!!

This month sees Sir Stampalot's 2nd Birthday and to celebrate they are having a fab blog hop...there are loads of prizes up for grabs, pop by their blog to find out more. Their challenge this month is Happy Birthday...and to celebrate I made this Birthday cake card:

I'm not usually very experiemental when it comes to shaped cards, but this weekend I decided to give something new a go. I'm really pleased by how it turned out and I think the card works really well with this sentiment. As well as Sir Stampalot I would also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts - photo inspiration - I've picked the colours pink, yellow and brown and the image of a cake

There is also a new challenge over at CES Challenge where they have a "no girls allowed challenge" this week. We all know I'm not a fan of masculine cards, but since I was already out of my comfort zone with the shaped card I thought I'd give this challenge a go too!!

Do the polka dots make it a bit girlie??

Soooo....are you wondering what I got up to in my kitchen this weekend and why I'm feeling a bit like Willy Wonka?? Well, I've been making my own easter eggs! They are surprisingly easy to make and I'm really pleased with what I've made so far...although I think I might go a bit fancy and make some floral decorations for them.....

I've made some large ones....some medium ones....and some teeny tiny ones (which are filled with popping candy!). Of course I've had to sample some of the same ones, just to make sure the popping candy worked and I can tell you that they are yummy!

Anyway, thanks for popping by today,
Wedgie xxx
