I Love.....Chocolate!

Hello there,

Happy Saturday...I hope you are keeping well and have had a good week.

Can you believe that its the end of January already?? It looks like 2015 might fly by as quickly as 2014 did! With Valentines Day just around the corner the ladies at Sweet Stampin have decided to get you in the mood with a "love" challenge theme this week!

Now I don't know about you...but I LOVE chocolate....in my humble opinion you can't beat a square or two to cheer you up! With this in mind I decided to feature chocolate on my love themed card....

I've gone for a CAS look, printing my digi stamp directly onto my card blank. The cute chocolate box  image is from Free Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps - when I saw it I knew it would be perfect for this challenge.

I have coloured my image with my Promarkers, and added a printed sentiment and some faux stitching around the edge.

Oh no...time for a masculine card!

Hello there,

Happy Saturday! I hope you are well and haven't caught any of these nasty cold bugs that are doing the rounds at the moment. I can report that I have finally manage to catch a head cold and I'm feeling rather sorry for myself....it's that or I am rather allergic to all this work lark!

So, you may have noticed in the blog post title that this week I have a masculine card for you today.....and some of you might know how this theme is not my favourite! I find it really hard to get excited about masculine cards. However, with this new challenge at Sweet Stampin I decided to put my best foot forward and try and enjoy the experience.

I actually surprised myself with this creation and enjoyed being challenged....

I went with a green and brown colour combo to go with my golf themed card....I even got a bit creative with a toothpick to make my sentiment! My image is coloured with my Promarkers and I have added a little faux stitching. I am really pleased with the end results and actually enjoyed making this masculine card! Maybe its all those polka dots (they look a bit like golf balls I think!)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - It's All New - the sentiment is new to me

Feeling a bit crafty...

Hello there....me again...three times in one week...it's a record!

You know....the brilliant thing about working from home is that my desk is located in my craft room....so as soon as I log off from work I can make a card or get the sewing machine out without too much fuss. It's quite a therapeutic way to end the working day too - I am very lucky!

And that is exactly what has happened this evening, I have logged off my work computer and decided to get a bit creative, celebrating one of my other crafty passions .....

Now some of you might know that I love all kinds of crafting, and recently I treated myself to a brand new sewing machine. I'm now wondering why I didn't get a new one sooner, as I have been using a really old hand me down from my mum which has definitely seen better days!

This weekend I want to complete a small sewing project to get some practise in before I start on a dressing pattern that I bought a while ago. I also have a knicker making kit which I might try out!!

I have used a combination of plain brown paper and some really pretty green and pink papers that I have recently bought - aren't they cute? My Digi Stamp Boutique images have been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added a little faux stitching with a white pen to carry on the theme. The pin cushion has been attached using 3D sticky pads (as demonstrated by the shadows!).

I'm really pleased with this girly card, I think I will send it to one of my friends who also loves sewing.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Creative Inspirations - anything goes
Crafty Sentiments - girly
I love Promarkers - hobbies (I love this theme so much!)
Digi Stamp Boutique - monthly competition

If you get the change pop by all these gorgeous blogs and take a peek at the fab DT cards that have been created!

Hopefully I'll see you again tomorrow as we have a fab new challenge for you over at Sweet Stampin challenge blog....and if you want to get a start on your 2015 Christmas cards why not take a peek at our Christmas at Sweet Stampin challenge?

Christmas card alert!

Hello there,

Happy Hump Day! I do love Wednesdays....the middle of the working week is here already!

Today I have a Christmas card to share with you....yes I know its only January....but over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin we like to make Christmas cards all year long! We have a brand new challenge for you this month....and one that I found a bit tough if I am honest! The theme is "Nativity" and I really didn't have any suitable stamps or digi images so had to go on a hunt!

I was really pleased to come across this cute snow globe nativity image from Free Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps, if you haven't come across this blog before you really should take a peek!

I've kept the rest of the card fairly simple as the image itself is rather detailed and have coloured my little scene using my Promarkers. Considering I had no idea what I would do for this card I am quite pleased with how it turned out.

A Little Late Night Crafting!

Well hello there...not sure what has come over me, but I decided at about 9:30pm this evening that I fancied making a card! Nothing elaborate, but something simple and cute to stretch my crafty fingers!

Joe has popped out (I know - who on earth pops out at this time of night??), the cats have taken themselves off to bed and I am sat in my craft room - bliss!

I decided to use some of my new stash, including a new black pen and some lovely stripey paper from a new collection. I teamed these with an oldie but a goodie stamp for this CAS card....

See I told you it was a simple card!

I stamped my image onto my striped paper before carefully cutting it out and mounting it onto my card using 3D sticky pads. I stamped my sentiment and then added the faux stitching with the pen.

I do love CAS cards - perfect for when you get that urge to create something, but know you should be doing something else (in my case right now sleeping!).

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts - new & cute (the paper and pen)
Top Tip Tuesday - Keep it Simple

Something New....

Hello there,

Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that your new year has started well. I have to say I have enjoyed the laziest Christmas I have had in ages....I celebrated with Joe, my friends and family...watched lots of Christmas movies, ate and drank far too much and generally had a rest! It was wonderful!

Now, I'm back with a lovely new challenge for you from Sweet Stampin....to start the new year off we have a "something new" challenge for you. Your project can feature anything new...whether that be a new home, a new baby or maybe like me some new stash!

I love sending letters and cards and so after Christmas love to make thank you cards for the gifts I have received. While looking in the Digi Stamp Boutique online store I came across a lovely collection of thank you images that I thought were perfect for my thank you cards.

As well as the new stamps I have also used new papers to create my cards. The images have been coloured with my Promarkers and I have of course added a little bit of sparkle with my Stickles.
