Lets get folding!

Hello there,

Happy Saturday....I hope you've had a lovely week.

Mine started really well...we had the brilliant news that Joe has become an uncle for the first time. His sister had a beautiful little girl on Monday afternoon, she was two weeks overdue and so we are all pleased that little Isabelle finally decided to make an appearance!

We have a fab challenge for you at My Time to Craft this week, we want to see your easel cards. Inspired by my wonderful news, I got crafting....

I've gone with a very pink colour scheme for this card....well she is a baby girl after all!

My cute images have been coloured with my Promarkers and I have gone with polka dots and stripes for the backing papers.

For more inspiration pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog and take a peek at all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created by the DT this week.

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Something a bit circular

Hello Folks - Happy Saturday!

Hope you're well and have had a lovely week. The weathers been a bit weird again in Aldershot.....lots of wind, rain and some sunshine all rolled into one!

Well....another Saturday brings us another challenge over at Sweet Stampin. We've still got Joanna Sheen as our monthly sponsor this month and this week we are joined by Dis Digis as our weekly sponsor!

This week's challenge is anything but square.....we want to see your shaped projects this week....any shape you like as long as its not square! I decided to be a bit brave and do a circular card...I'm not a huge fan of making circular cards as they always end up wonky, but I decided to give it a go. I was also lucky enough to pick an image from Di's Digis....and I picked a real cutie.....

Told you my circles are wonky!! Still, I think it adds to the charm to this cute card! I've coloured my fab image with my Promarkers and used some pink and blue backing papers and a little paper lace border. I've highlighted the fur collar on the coat using some stickles. The sentiment was created on my computer and backed with some pink card.  I have to say I'm really pleased with how this card turned out....I do love girlie cards!

Pop by the Sweet Stampin blog to see all the other DT cards.....they're all really cute!

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you have a fab Saturday!

A spooky time and a card!

Hello there, hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Well, I've been a busy bee and so I think this might be a long post today! Do you remember the other day I mentioned I was going on a ghost bus tour in London? Well I went on Thursday evening with my sister and we had such a good time! I laughed so much that I cried! I haven't enjoyed a bus trip so much before!! The tour took place on an old 1950s/1960s double decker bus and it lasted about 75 minutes and took in all the sights of London's ghosts! If you're ever in London I'd highly recommend taking a ghost bus tour!

Of course I've also been crafting this weekend too and today I've made a lovely easel card inspired by three different challenges.....Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge asked for some fancy folding....Sweet Stampin Challenge gave me the colour theme of red, white and blue and finally Allsorts asked for something inspired by nature.

As you probably know I love this stamp of the tree and use it as often as possible! I love the fact that it can be used at any time of year. Pop by all the blogs mentioned above to see how the DT members used the themes this week, the cards are all gorgeous!

As well as crafting I have also been baking...something I haven't done that much of later....but Joe bought me a lovely mixing bowl for Valentine's Day and I wanted to use it! Yesterday I made some lovely fruits of the forest cupcakes using jam for the flavouring. I've iced the cupcakes with some lemon butter icing and added some pink sugar glitter for a bit of sparkle!

I've also treated myself to Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts book...I already own and love her other craft encyclopedia and can't wait to get stuck into this one! Right, I'm off to read my new book and decide which project I want to try first! Enjoy your evening and I hope to see you again soon!

Three cards, three challenges

Hello everyone, hope you're well and having a lovely weekend.

I had such a busy day yesterday with Joe, meeting up with friends that I decided to have a real lazy day today. I have chilled out, made lots of cards, watched some TV and baked some yummy biscuits! Its been bliss! After I finshed making my cards I did a little blog hopping and realised that some of the cards matched some of the fab challenges out there!

Card 1, challenge 1 - Cute Card Thursday - What's buggin' you!

The ladies at Cute Card Thursday wanted projects that feature bugs! I decided to make a really simple card for this challenge. I have used my letter stamps to create the sentiment and then a little butterfly stamp to add all the butterflies. I picked the colours green and purple...not sure why...and decorated each butterfly a little differently. I finished the card with some purple glitter glue.

Card 2, challenge 2 - Allsorts Challenge - let's play bingo

For our game of bingo we were given a grid of elements that we needed to pick a line from. The elements that appeared in my line were button, flower, stickles. This card is a bespoke card that I've been asked to create for a work friend. The brief was an anniversary card featuring funny animals with her partner's name on! These cheeky little monkeys are from a Kanban stamp set and I love them - they make me smile! I have managed to use all my elements in one go - a punched flower with a buttom centre and stickles decoration!

Card 3, challenge 3 - Charisma Cardz - more than one fold

For my more than one fold card I opted for an easel card, I love easel cards because people always find them impressive....you also have extra card to decorate! This is another bespoke card, this time for someone who likes pigs!

Pop over to all the blogs mentioned above to see the gorgeous DT cards on offer - they are all fab! I think its safe to say that my mojo has been found...in fact it was hiding behind the sofa! I think I just needed to little break to get the juices flowing again! Right, I'm off to ice my cute little biscuits...hopefully Joe might come home from the garage soon too...I want my dinner!

Cupcakes!

Ok, I know this is my second post tonight...but a yummy cupcake that I ate earlier inspired me to finish off a project that I had been working on....

I wanted to create a fun, bright card using these cute little cupcake images that are from a Creative Cottage digi kit. As you know I love easel cards and I have used this sentiment more than once before, and I was keen to use both again! I've used coloured and patterned papers, a little acetate, the printed sentiment and a button as well as the digi images.

This card fits in with three different challenges:
The Creative Cottage - Acetate - my acetate is used over the mini cupcake at the bottom
Cute Card Thursday -Whateva - any theme goes!

Three fab challenges - take a look at all the gorgeous DT cards that have been made!

Fancy folds!

Morning All! What a lovely sunny morning!

Another really quick post this morning...it would have been longer, but its taking this stupid computer so long to do anything that I'm now running out of time!!

Over at the Creative Cottage this week they have got a fab challenge that fits in nicely with my new found love of easel cards! Their challenge is fancy folds! The DT cards are so gorgeous, take a peek here to see them.

So this is my card, inspired by a fab William Gladstone quote about tea! Everything is made using paper from my stash, I found the template for the teacups in a craft magazine.

Right, I really must go....I'll be back soon with more cards!

My first easel card!

Me again.....I couldn't resist sharing my latest make with you all! I love all the gorgeous easel cards that crafters are making at the moment, so decided to give it a go myself.....

I really enjoyed making this card...as its my first one I stuck with what I know best.....pink and girlie! I've used Creative Cottage papers again (I love them!!) along with more pink paper from my stash....I'll be needing to go shopping to buy more pink paper soon!!

I also found a fab challenge from Daring Cardmakers....I'm not sure if I'm too late to enter this week because they do new challenges every Friday, but thought I'd enter and see what happens. The dare this week is to make an easel card...they'd like to see shaped ones...but that was a little beyond me this evening!! Check out the amazing DT cards here.

I know I always say that I'm pleased with my finished cards....but I really love this one!

Anyway, the cupcakes are baked and I'm packed ready for Brownie pack holiday...now all I need is a good night's sleep and fair weather this weekend!
