A little Christmas magic...

Hello there,

I hope you are keeping well and haven't caught one of these nasty bugs that are currently doing the rounds! It's starting to get really cold now and there are a lot more people sniffing and sneezing in my office...I'm really pleased when I have no meetings and can work from home!

Anyway, as regular visitors to my little blog know....I LOVE Christmas! I love the sparkle, the excitement, the Christmas movies, scrummy food and Christmas songs on the radio. I am like a big kid as soon as I start seeing the Christmas adverts on TV....especially the Coke Cola advert!

Last year I was really pleased when Becca and Sheree agreed to queue with me to have our photo taken with the Coke truck in London!

Anyway, we have a "Things with Wings" challenge for you over at Sweet Stampin this week...to be honest this is a theme that always leaves me a little cold...I never know what to create....but this time inspiration struck....

Yes, I was inspired by a certain Christmas advert...can you tell which one??

I used a printed backing paper as the background to my card and simply added a stamped fairy image with 3D sticky pads. I coloured her with my Promarkers and added a little glitter to her wand and wings. Finally I added my Christmas sentiment (which doesn't look wonky on the card - honest!).

I am really pleased with how this card turned out.....for more things with wings inspiration pop by the Sweet Stampin challenge blog and take a peek at the gorgeous DT cards that Team Abi have created this week. While you are there you can find out about our lovely sponsor this week...

A sweet bribe....

Hello there....well its a bit of a grey Saturday morning here in Aldershot at the moment. The sun is trying to poke through, but the clouds are currently winning! I'm off to a BBQ later so some sunshine would be really nice!

Joe and I live in a block of flats in Aldershot....he's been there several years and I've been there just over a year. We've made friends with a lovely couple in our block called Kirsty and Jake, who live a couple of doors away from Joe's flat. They love my cupcakes and whenever I make a fresh batch I try and take some cakes down to them too. They got engaged recently and are planning to buy a house nearby.....I will miss them and so I decided to bribe them yesterday with some freshly baked cupcakes!

These are vanilla cupcakes, with a two coloured vanilla butter cream swirl and a fresh strawberry on top - yummy! I think I've finally mastered the two coloured icing and I'm really pleased with how these look.

I tried reasoning with Kirsty and Jake that if they move I won't be able to deliver sweet treats like this anymore! Hee, hee!

I'd like to enter these cupcakes in the "it's a gift" challenge over at Allsorts this week.

Soooo.....I also have a little card for you today.....

I love the soft sweet colours of this patterned backing paper and I think it looks fab with the sky blue plain paper, it also has a fab glittered effect to add a little bling factor. My cute LOTV image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I've added some sparkle to her wings with my Stickles. Finally I've added some cute little blue squares and some blue punched flowers, which have glitter centres.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Send a Smile 4 Kids - anything goes
Lili's Little Fairies - spots or stripes
DYSU - fantasy
Poodle Palour - things with wings

Lots of Green!

Happy Saturday!

I'm hoping this post has appeared properly...I've had to schedule it to pop up automatically because today I'm dragging Mum to the Stitch & Craft show at Olympia....poor mum gets dragged around every year! This year we're also attended a workshop though so she'll get to sit down for a bit!! We're learning how to make paperbeads...I'll let you know how we get on!

So, its Saturday....and that means we have a new fab challenge for you over at Sweet Stampin this week. Our sponsor this month is Joanna Sheen and our weekly sponsor is Emerald Faerie.

Our challenge this week is in honour of St Patricks Day.....we want to see the colour green feature on your cards. Each DT member has kindly been given a fab image to play with by Emerald Faerie - my image is soooo cute - thank you!

After rummaging through my stash I realised that I didn't have many green papers! I've managed to feature several shades of green...plus some polka dots! I've coloured my cute fairy using my coloured pencils and added some glitter to the dandilion.

Pop by the Sweet Stampin blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week.

Fairy Birthday Wishes

Hello there! How are you today? Wow! I'm not sure where today has vanished to.....I'm sure only five minutes ago I was waking up! I did something quite exciting over the weekend...I finally ordered my new laptop from Dell! Woo hoo! I decided to splash out a little and I've got one with a lovely big daisy on the front. I now have to wait for it to arrive....so thats more wishing my life away! At least I'll be able to stop moaning about this slow computer when it finally arrives!
I've got a card that I've made for this week's challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge that I'd like to share with you. The theme this week is fairtales and the DT have created some gorgeous cards, pop along to their blog and take a peek.

I found an image in a children's book that was all about fairy things to make. I decided she was soooo cute that I'd have a go myself.

It was a very simple design to follow and I used papers from my stash, along with some shiny sticky gems and a sentiment made on my computer. I think it's her simplicity that makes her cute.

Anyway, I'd better get going....I want to make a couple more cards before I snuggle up in bed with a good book!

Buttons and Bows!

Afternoon! Greetings from a very grey New Malden! I've been doing some research at work today about cosmetic procedures and who offers them....I was quite surprised to learn that loads of dentists across the UK offer facial rejunvination in the form of botox and dermal fillers! Now thats what I call diversitising your business!!

Now, I've already told you all about The Creative Cottage Challenge blog, where they host fab weekly challenges, but did you know that they have another fab blog too?!? On the The Creative Cottgae Blog you can see lots of inspirational makes, plus you can buy some fab kits.....they also treat us to lovely monthly freebies...you should go and take a peek...click here to see more!

The challenge this week on The Creative Cottage Challenge Blog is to create something that includes buttons and bows, the DT have created some lovely designs, take a peek here to see them all. I've decided to use the freebie that they have kindly given us this month which features the very cute Holly the Fairy!

I've used the topper, the background paper, the cute little flowers and the lovely sentiment from the freebie for my Birthday card. In fact all I added to my white card blank from my stash was a piece of red backing paper, a little mini bow and two mini red buttons! What a fab freebie - thanks ladies!

I thought Holly looked so cute on her toadstool, so I kept everything else small and cute to match her!

I'm off to a Girl Guide workshop this evening, I'm in the process of getting my leadership qualification and I think I've taken too long....this workshop is to give me a shove in the right direction! So no more cards for me tonight!

I hope you all have a lovely evening, whatever you're up to!

Thanks for stopping by,
Wedgie xx
