Is it the weekend yet??

Hello there....lovely to see you today!

My day has been so long, and so busy! I'm really looking forward to the weekend already!! Work is manic at the moment....but I suppose at least it keeps me out of trouble!

So today I was asked to make an anniversary card for one of my colleagues...its his anniversary tomorrow and he hasn't got a card yet! I decided to opt for a very pretty card with a little sparkle....

I've used some light plain blue paper and some really pretty floral paper, along with a doily for the background. I've used one of my favourite stamps, which I think is lovely for wedding anniversaries.....I've add a little sparkle with my Stickles. Finally I added some faux stitching around the image and some light blue to the edge of the doily.

Hopfully my colleague's wife will really like this pretty card!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

The Pink Elephant - wedding/anniversary

I'm a little sad today....

...because this is my last week as Guest Cupcake over at Cupcake Craft Challenges! I've had a fab month with the other Cupcakes, they are all so lovely! I know I always say it....but I honestly can't believe how quickly the last month has flown by! Thank you again Cupcakes for having me!

So without further ado...here is my last challenge as a Guest Cupcake and this week the theme is "Birds of a Feather"....so you could feature birds on your card or maybe feathers. I've gone with this fab image from Digi Doodles....

Aren't they a cute pair of love birds? And perfect for a wedding anniversary card!
I've gone with fresh, vibrant colours to match the love birds and I've coloured my image using my Promarkers. I looked on Google for images of love birds to try and make the colours a bit authentic!

Pop by the Cupcake Craft Challenge blog to see how the DT used the theme!

I'd also like to enter this card over at Make it Monday this week. Don't forget to pop by and see all the gorgeous cards that have been created this week.

Thanks for popping by today,

Cute as a button!

I've spent a lovely weekend with Joe at his flat in Aldershot, just doing normal things that I enjoy. I visited my local craft shop and bought some papers, I went to Squires Kitchen and spent a Birthday voucher on more chocolate making goodies and I wandered around my favourite antiques shop - its been lovely! Of course I've also spent time crafting and baking - no suprise there then!

Here is a little card that I've created for two challenges this weekend

I have to admit that the lighting of this photo is awful, so you can't see the stickles twinkling on the branches, but sorting the flash on my camera is a bit beyond me right now! I've decided to go for a contemporary feel for this anniversary card, with pretty pinks, blues and greens.  The theme of "in the garden" and the gorgeous layout comes from this week's challenge over at Sweet Stampin where they have given us the garden theme and a gorgeous sketch to follow - its up to you whether you use one element or both. Don't forget to take a peek at all the gorgeous DT cards on their blog.

I'm also entering this card in the challenge this week over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge where the theme is anniversary. I love this tree stamp and have used it on so many different cards, but I always feel it works so well on anniversary cards - portraying growing love. Oh, look at me getting all mushy!! Take a peek at the SCSC blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards this week.

I've also been doing a little baking today.......I always focus on the flavours of my cakes rather than what they look like, so today I decided to make a really good vanilla cupcake that looks cute too! I was inspired by photos I'd seen in blogland of some very cute button cupcakes so I decided to give it a go myself....

Aren't they cute?? I made the buttons myself out of pre-coloured royal icing - I cut out the circles and added the centre holes using a tooth pick. For the larger buttons I also added an extra circle around the outside. I'm really pleased with how these turned out.

Thanks for popping by today, I hope to see you again soon.

Anniversary Monkeys!

Morning! I'm munching a delicious cinnamon hot cross bun this morning, its so yummy! Here is a wedding anniversary card that I finished off last night for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week....

Their challenge is "its a couple thing"...I thought this cheeky pair were just perfect! Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but it would definitly make Joe smile if I gave him this card on our anniversary! I've also distressed the edges of my spotty paper and therefore I'd like to enter this in the distressing challenge over at Paper Sundaes.

I wanted to try and make it a unisex card...so either a man or a woman could give it...I've done this using pink and blue backing papers. However, I think maybe its just a bit too girlie??

Right, as usual I've got to get my skates on! Hope you have a good day!

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 60 Letters & Numbers

Ok, I've been inspired by all the lovely comments people have left me and have decided to add some more cards straight away! There's no stopping me now!

Friends ask me to create bespoke cards for Birthdays and Wedding Anniversaries, and these often involve numbers. This fits in nicely with the first ever blog challenge that I've decided to do. I found out about cutecardthursday.blogspot.com while surfing through some fab blogs, and this weeks challenge is Challenge 60 - Letters and Numbers - a perfect chance to show off my creations!

This card was created for a friend's parent's wedding anniversary! He loves cooking, she loves gardening, they are both musician's and in the background of the card is one of their favourite pieces of music. I really enjoyed creating this card as it is really one of a kind!

I also like doing number Birthday cards, I like this pretty pink card for a 40th Birthday.
As always, hope you like the cards - let me know your thoughts!
