Spring time sketch

Hello Folks - Happy Saturday!

Sooooo...this week at Sweet Stampin we have a fab sketch for you.....and since the weather has been lovely and the clocks have gone forward we'd like to see a spring theme on your cards this week.

Our sponsor this week is Lili of the Valley who are offering a fab prize of a £10 gift voucher! And don't forget that our monthly sponsor for March is Joanna Sheen!

Sooo...what are we waiting for? Here is the sketch....

Isn't it cute? Check out the Sweet Stampin blog to see how Team Abi have used the sketch for their spring cards!

Here is mine....

Yes, I realise that is probably the worlds smallest bow and it looks a bit silly.....but I'm really not a bow kinda girl and this was all I had in my stash!!

We look forward to seeing all your cards this week.

Fab sketch time!

Hello Campers!

Woo hoo....the weekend is in sight! I hope you're having a lovely weekend, this weather has been a real treat...I hear its back to normal temps this weekend!

So another week has flown by and yesterday saw a new sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and I have to say that I really love this one, its fab to use....

Isn't it fab? Pop by the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog to see how the lovely DT have used this sketch. Here is my card....

I'm quite pleased with this card....the only thing I'd change is the orange stickles that I've used in the centre of the flowers as I think its a little dark.

I'd also like to enter this card in the "anything goes" challenge over at Simon Says Stamp blog this week and the "Happy Easter" challenge at Cute Card Thursday.

Right, for those of you saw my first post about my Herman cake I'm pleased to say that its currently in the oven and my flat smells amazing! Pictures over the weekend I promise!

Its time for tea!

Evening Folks!

I've just realised that I haven't changed my clock in my kitchen....how did I realise?? When my boyfriend called to ask where I was and that dinner was ready! Whoops! Here I was merrily crafting away!!

Anyway, I've been given an extra half an hour so I thought I'd post my handy-work quickly (I still haven't changed the clock!!).

Anyway, my fellow Sweet Stampin DT member Tracey left me message to say I should pop by the CES challenge blog this week because they have a fab challenge that is right up my street....and boy was she right!! Its a photo inspiration challenge....

Isn't that cute?? Loads of things to inspire us...so I rummaged through my many teacup/cupcake stamps and decided to make an afternoon tea inspired card! Papertake Weekly Challenge have a fab sketch for us to use this week and Passion for Promarkers wanted to see us using ribbon and buttons on our projects. Soooooo....here you go:

You can't really see the papers in the background....but one of them has more afternoon tea images on and the other is full of afternoon tea words! Soooo cute! I opted to make my afternoon tea a little regal using some gold pen on my image as well as my Promarkers.

Right, I think I better get going now....I'm really pushing my luck with the time!!

A bit of shabby chic

Hello campers, hope you had a fab weekend!

I'm amazed that its already Monday evening again...where does time go?? We took the Brownies to London on Saturday, we hunted for eggs in St James Park which was fun. Then on Sunday I watched Joe and his friends play with remote control cars all day....yes, as well as big noisy cars they all now have small remote control cars too!! At least we had a lovely BBQ and I got to relax in the sunshine!

This evening I've been having fun with a little bit of shabby chic crafting and a card with a little suprise.....soooo here's the card.....

Secret Crafter Saturday Challange have a shabby chic/vintage challenge for us this week, and so I've opted for soft muted colours...along with one of my favourite embellishments....a doillie!

"Whats the surprise?" I hear here you cry....well here you are....

Ohhhh....I've created a little secret pocket on my card that contains a cupcake recipe! Perfect for sending to a friend....to hint that you want some cake! This fits in with the "use a cooking recipe" theme over at Allsorts this week.

I'm pleased to report that I am really happy with how this card has turned out! I'd also like to enter it in the "sound of music" challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week! My music inspiration was "If I knew you were comin' I'd've baked a cake" by Eileen Barton.....remember that little ditty?? I bet that one line is stuck in your head now....I think I'll be going to bed singing it! Anyway, send this card to your friend and they'll have no excuse not to have a cake waiting for you when you pop by!

I've been busy!

Happy Friday Folks!

Another week has flown by and I've had a busy week! I spent 24 wonderful hours with an automatic blood pressure monitor attached to me...that was fun! During the day it went off every 30 minutes...it was very noisy! At night time it only went off once an hour....but I never got used to it and it woke me up every time!! Anyway, apart from that I've also been busy crafting....I've bottled some vodka that I've flavoured myself with raspberrys, I've made my sister a cute new cushion and I've also made her a skirt (the first time I've attempted this - lets hope it fits!!)....and of course I've been making cards! I'll post photos of my makes at the end of this post!

So, I've not posted since Monday so there are a lot of challenges that I need to catch up on!! My first card is for the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Circle shaped card (hope mine counts!)
Passion for Promarkers - animals (coloured with my Promarkers)
Papertake Weekly - bingo - I went for flowers, free (glitter) and buttons
Emerald Faerie - Easel card

I'm not that happy with this card...I'm not sure why...I'm just not happy with it!! Saying that I'm not particulary happy with my second card either!! And thats why I've gone ahead and posted both of them....I'm either right in my gut feeling or I'm having a bad day!!

My seond card is for the following challenges:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - fab new sketch
Simon Says Stamp - bingo - glitter, lace, punches
Cute Card Thursday - Anything goes

Now I love this image...its a new stamp that I got last weekend at the Olympia craft show...I've coloured it and then used my glossy accents to fill in the windows with a glass like finish.

Sooo.....here are all my makes....

The first photo is the new cushion...isn't that print fab?? Its perfect for Lorna's flat with all her pets! The second photo is a bright pink draw string skirt that I've made for Lorna. Then we have mum at the workshop we took part in last week...shes making paper beads. And finally we have my raspberry flavoured vodka which is very tasty! Isn't that vintage bottle fab too??

Right, I've bored you all enough with my millions of photos!! Don't forget to pop by all the challenge blogs mentioned above...there are some really gorgeous DT cards to be seen!

Happiness is.....

....some freshly baked cake!

This evening I was given some cake batter....some Herman cake batter no less. Its a German friendship cake that is passed between friends and family. You get given a little batter and some instructions and over the course of ten days you nuture the cake and then on the last day you divide it up...bake one bit and give the other bits to family and friends so they can have their own Herman cake too! Isn't that fab? Thank you Alex for sharing with me!

Inspired by my Herman cake I decided to create a yummy cupcake card (well I don't really need much encouragement do I??).

Hee, hee! Cute isn't it??

I've used a pretty pastel pink backing paper, topped it with some pink and white lacy paper and a pretty mini doilie. I've added my cute sentiment to some more pink paper and then added my trio of cupcakes!

This sweet card is for the following challenges:

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - doilies are not just for cakes
Allsorts - three in a row

I must also say a big thank you to the lovely Secret Crafter ladies....as I was their lucky winner last week and have won a $10 Digi Doodle gift voucher...how exciting!

Lots of Green!

Happy Saturday!

I'm hoping this post has appeared properly...I've had to schedule it to pop up automatically because today I'm dragging Mum to the Stitch & Craft show at Olympia....poor mum gets dragged around every year! This year we're also attended a workshop though so she'll get to sit down for a bit!! We're learning how to make paperbeads...I'll let you know how we get on!

So, its Saturday....and that means we have a new fab challenge for you over at Sweet Stampin this week. Our sponsor this month is Joanna Sheen and our weekly sponsor is Emerald Faerie.

Our challenge this week is in honour of St Patricks Day.....we want to see the colour green feature on your cards. Each DT member has kindly been given a fab image to play with by Emerald Faerie - my image is soooo cute - thank you!

After rummaging through my stash I realised that I didn't have many green papers! I've managed to feature several shades of green...plus some polka dots! I've coloured my cute fairy using my coloured pencils and added some glitter to the dandilion.

A little bif of yellow...

Woo hoo....its the weekend!

I hope you've had a fab week....mine has flown by so quickly! In the UK it's Mother's Day on Sunday and as is our family tradition Lorna and I are taking Mum for afternoon tea in London on Sunday. We started this tradition as a one of treat about seven years ago....taking mum to The Savoy....unfortuantly for our pockets mum loves the whole experience and we've gone to a different posh London hotel every year since! This year we've going to The Corinthia which is a year old 5* hotel near Trafalgar Square. The hotel is always a surprise for mum and I really hope she likes our choice this year!

Sooo.....on with today's card....I've finally got around to making a card for the "yellow and pearls" challenge over at A Passion for Promarkers this week. I found this challenge very difficult as I'm not really a fan of yellow....looks fab on bananas and lemons, but not so good on my cards!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and I didn't have any normal coloured pearls...so I added green ones, which I'm hoping look ok. The layout is a bit experiemental....I didn't have many yellow papers in my stash and so I just kinda threw downs the ones I found and I think they look ok!

Isn't the weather lovely?

Evening Peeps,

Hope you're keeping well....I've managed to pick up yet another cold bug...my immune system is officially rubbish!! This time I have a rather violent cough, along with a drippy nose....lucky me!

Anyway, enough of my moaning! Tonight I've really not done a lot....I watched the final of Masterchef...I've watched Location, Location, Location....oh and I've made a Birthday card (no baking this evening I am sad to report!).

Another week has flown by and the lovely ladies at Sweet Sketch Wednesday have a fab new sketch for us to play with.....Isn't it lovely?

I'm using this sketch as the base for my card, along with the colour challenge over at Simon Says Stamp which is "bit o' green". The theme for my card is "Birthdays" and this is to celebrate Cute Card Thursdays 4th Birthday!

So here we go......

I love purple and green together....I think the little bit of purple around the edges on this card really makes the green pop. I've used different buttons to give the card a shabby chic feel

Saying it with flowers.....and no images!

Evening Folks!

Well another day has flown by! I was supposed to go for a run when I got home this evening, but somehow I got distracted by my craft desk! Whoops!

I have a couple of cards I'd like to share with you this evening...the first is a Mother's Day card featuring flowers....

I've used a pretty green backing paper, along with some flowery paper. My flowers have been stamped twice and coloured. I've used the first stamp on the bottom for the leaves and I cut the flowers out of the second stamp and attached them with 3D sticky pads to add some depth. I've made this card for the "say it with flowers" challenge over at Allsorts and the "for the girls" challenge over at Papertake Weekly.

Now anyone who has popped by my blog before will know how much I love my sentiments....anything that makes me chuckle is good for my cards! Thats why the "no image, just words" challenge at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week is right up my street! And here is my card...

Yep, I know I'm slightly obsessed with this Martha Stewart punch...but its soooo pretty!! So, did I make you giggle?? I'd normally add a pair of knickers to a card featuring this sentiment, but as I can't use an image I decided to focus on making the card pretty....the punched border also kind of reminds me of knicker elastic!!

Thanks for popping by today, I'll be back later this week with some more cards!

Going Dotty...for Hot Cross Buns!

Hello campers!

Hope you're well this evening and had a fab weekend. Mine was brilliant - I had the cake decorating exhibtion with Rafina (where I learnt a lot) and the pamper day with Becca (where I relaxed a lot!).

This week Cupcake Craft Challenge has a fab challenge for us....they want us to "go dotty!"...lots and lots of spots please! Pop by the Cupcake blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

I decided I wanted a fresh zingy card this evening, so I used this fab colour combo of purple, lime green and sky blue....soooo pretty! I added a stand full of cupcakes and a scrumptious sentiment!

Now I really wish you could smell my flat this evening...it smells truely scrumptious! I've tried my hand at baking Hot Cross Buns tonight....and I have to say that I am really pleased with the end results...not only do they smell amazing and look like Hot Cross Buns...they also taste pretty good too (even if I do say so myself!!).

I believe that some lovely ladies have been popping by and leaving me some really nice comments.....I will be popping by your blogs this week to investigate further, but just wanted to say a HUGE thank you!

Thanks for popping by this evening,

Here comes the weekend!

Hello Folks!

Hope you're having a good week! For me its officially the weekend now....and what a lovely weekend I have planned! Tomorrow I am going to a cake decorating exhbition in Farnham with Rafina....we went last year and it was brilliant...I'm really looking forward to it! Peggy Porschen is opening the exhibition and will be decorating...she makes amazing cakes. Then on Saturday I am having a pamper day with Becca...its my Birthday treat from last year...we're going to a health club in London for massages and facials...I can't wait for that either!

Before all the excitment begins I've had some time for some crafting....

I've created this pretty card for the "Mothers Day/Special Girl" challenge at Simon Says Stamp this week. This is another colour combo that I really like....that lovely pastel pink, cool baby blue and a splash of white...it always looks really pretty! My rose has been stamped and coloured, I've cut the petals out and attached them with 3D sticky pads to make them pop!

Anyway, thanks for popping by today and no doubt I'll be back soon to update you on my adventures this weekend!

Happy Tuesday!

Evening Peeps!

I hope you are well this evening....I'm back with another card for you this evening....

Ok, ok....I know I made a similar card to this recently, but I love the layout...I think it looks really pretty! I've used some brown backing paper, along with some pretty patterned paper for the background. I've added a pretty punched border across the middle. The sentiment has been created on my trusty computer and I've added a mug of tea (or coffee) because every mum deserves a cup of tea! The mug has been coloured with my Promarkers, I wanted it to look like china so I have used an ivory coloured promarker.

This card is for the "for mum/female relative" challenge over at Passion for Promarkers this week and the "anything goes" challenge at Papertake Weekly.

Domesticated Goddess Alert!

Good evening folks - a little late night post from me! I hope you've had a fab Monday! I have to say I'm feeling very pleased with myself, as this evening Joe and I ate my own homemade frozen oven chips with our dinner! Yep! I made frozen chips and they actually tasted really good! There is something so satisfying about eating things that you've made from scratch!

As well as my zumba class this evening I've also had time to make a little card....

I've created this card for the "spread your wings" challenge at Allsorts this week and the "yellow and red" colour challege at Cupcake Craft Challenge. I thought I was going to struggle with the spread your wings challenge, then I remembered this cute little stamp! I have to say I love this colour combo...its so bright and cheerful...guaranteed to make you smile!

Pop by the challenge blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards!

Right, I'm off to bed in a bit!
Thanks for popping by today, I love reading all your wonderful comments.

Weird Weather!

What a day! First off it was REALLY wet and a bit windy....then I had snow...yes actual snowflakes falling from the sky.....then finally some lovely sunshine!! I didn't really know what to do with myself today and with that weird weather going on outside I decided to stay indoors! I've watched a movie, read a magazine, made a red thai chicken and sweet potato curry and done some baking! What a busy, but relaxing day!!

Sooooo....here are some of my new cards....

First off for the pastels challenge over at Passion for Promarkers I have this sweet card.......

As you probably know I love this stamp, its so scrummy! I've used some pastel coloured baking papers, a punched border in the middle and my scrummy cupcake along with the sweet sentiment.

My second card is for the Green for Go challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week....

The ladies want to see green feature as the main colour in our creations this week....I opted for a some fresh spring inspired backing paper to match the darker green and fresh pink papers. I'd also like to enter this in the Cute Card Thursday Challenge this week which is "signs of spring". I've used a cute jam stamp on this card because I know as spring is around the corner so is my mum's amazing homemade jam! Yummy!

Finally, another month brings a new challenge at Sir Stampalot and this month they'd like us to take inspiration from some new kits they have. There are some gorgeous backing papers, some swirls, pearls and buttons to inspire us!

I took my inspiration from the cute polka dot paper that features in the kit. I love polka dots, they always make a card look cute. I've added a fun sentiment and some stamped cupcakes to finish the card.

Now I also mentioned that I've been baking....well yesterday I made some mini victoria sponge cakes and today I've made a delicious pile of chocododdles (a fab Nigella recipe which is part cake part biscuit and really rather tasty)!! I'm really glad that I have lots of willing volunteers to sample my goodies otherwise I don't think my clothes would fit anymore!!

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you've had a fab weekend!

Nature, bugs and bees

Happy Saturday Crafters!

Sooooo....another Saturday means one thing....another fab challenge over at Sweet Stampin and this week we are joined by Crafty Emma's Store as our weekly sponsor. Our challenge this week is nature, bugs and bees....so get stamping and show us some nature!

I did think I was going to struggle a little with the nature and bugs theme, but then I remembered this cute little stamp! I've gone for a blue and brown colour theme again because I liked it sooo much when I used it earlier this week!

Sketches!

Happy Friday! Its the weekend...thank goodness!

I've had a pretty full on week....GP appointment on Monday which has led to further investigations (nothing serious!), and then a car accident on Tuesday evening (not my fault) that led to me staying at my mum's for most of the week....with no clothes, no make up and no phone charger!! The car has cosmetic damage, I have neck ache, but luckily no one was seriously hurt. I'm glad its the weekend though!!

Sooo......I've spent my evening so far playing with sketches! The first one is from Papertake Weekly...

This card is for a work colleagues mum....she requested a green Mother's Day card. I opted for cute cupcakes because I know the daughter is an awesome baker! I'm also entering this card in the anything goes challenge over at Simon Says Stamp this week.

The second sketch is from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.....

Now I'm looking at this card I'm not sure the polka dots are right, but hey ho its all stuck in place now! I found this stamp last weekend....I've wanted a hand of cards for a while and was pleased to spot these!
