Cute Cupcake Card

Hello everyone! Hope you're well! I've just been bopping around my kitchen to "Wake me up before you go"....I love that song, it never fails to get me singing!

So, last week I survived the dentist, this week I have survived the hygenist which was a compleltly new experience to me. I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed my appointment! I'd always thought my boyfriend was a bit odd for loving his appointments so much, but I can honestly say I can see the appeal - I suppose don't knock it till you try it!

So, over at Papertake Weekly they've got a really cute sketch for their challenge this week. It's easy to use and looks fab, take a look at their blog to see how the DT used it. This is how I used it.....

For my card I have used a selection of pink card and paper, along with a very cute cupcake which is part of a Creative Cottage kit. I've used 3D sticky pads to make the icing stand out a little and I've accesorised with mini shiny stars.

A cute girlie card to wish someone a sweet Birthday!

I'm being a tad bit naughty this evening - I'm off to meet my friend Anika for a gossip....the chosen venue is our local Krispy Kreme doughnut place! I'd love to say I go there for the coffee! Ha, ha!

Thanks for stopping by today, I'll be back soon with more creations.

Fairy Birthday Wishes

Hello there! How are you today? Wow! I'm not sure where today has vanished to.....I'm sure only five minutes ago I was waking up! I did something quite exciting over the weekend...I finally ordered my new laptop from Dell! Woo hoo! I decided to splash out a little and I've got one with a lovely big daisy on the front. I now have to wait for it to arrive....so thats more wishing my life away! At least I'll be able to stop moaning about this slow computer when it finally arrives!
I've got a card that I've made for this week's challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge that I'd like to share with you. The theme this week is fairtales and the DT have created some gorgeous cards, pop along to their blog and take a peek.

I found an image in a children's book that was all about fairy things to make. I decided she was soooo cute that I'd have a go myself.

It was a very simple design to follow and I used papers from my stash, along with some shiny sticky gems and a sentiment made on my computer. I think it's her simplicity that makes her cute.

Anyway, I'd better get going....I want to make a couple more cards before I snuggle up in bed with a good book!

Roar!

Morning All - what a lovely Saturday morning! You'll all be very pleased to know that I survived the dentist yesterday! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.....Joe if you're reading this, I hate it say it, but you were right!

I hope everyone has nice plans for the weekend. I've got an afternoon with my friends planned - we're having afternoon tea using Lorna's lovely china and then we're doing some crafts. So I've been busy this morning making cupcakes and choosing some crafts for everyone to try out...this afternoon we'll be making some wall art or an easel card.

I did make some time for some crafting of my own though.........

.....cute isn't he?? This is my favourite type of card making and what I think I'm best at.....taking loads of paper and making something. I do like digi images, stamps etc....but I really enjoy making something from scratch...whether it be a cute lion, a cupcake or a pretty dress!

This cheeky chappie is for several different challenges:

Papertake Weekly - Cutie Patootie - basically anything cute goes!
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Cat or dog - ok so, not technically a cat...but it is a rather big cat! I'd like to enter this challenge, but I'll leave it for the Cupcake Ladies to decide whether I've followed the theme properly!

Right, I'd better get a wriggle on, still lots to do before I start eating yummy cake! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, whatever you're up to!

Touchy Feely Card!

Well hello there! How are you today? What do you think of my pretty new blog look?? I decided it was time for a change....and I love polka dots nearly as much as cupcakes! Hee, hee!

So, I'm here this evening with a card for this fortnight's Creative Cottage Challenge which has been set by the lovely Becky. She would like to see some touchy feely projects this week - anything with a bit of texture...whether that be ribbon, fabric, embossing....anything that makes you want to run your fingers across the card!  So here is my creation.......

For my tactile elements I have used two different ribbons (one is very shiny and the other a little bit more matt), some purple fabric (which I cut into a mini dress!), some tiny beads that are sewn onto the ribbon and a little sequin to complete my dress.

I've also added a bit of texture by using 3D sticky pads to fix my sentiment in place and lift it off the card.

The perfect girlie card!

Right, I'm off to do a bit of blog hopping, I want to see what everyone's been up to recently. It'll also take my mind off the fact that I've got to go to the dentist in the morning....I really don't like visits to the dentist!

Christmas stocking!

Evening All! I hope you're all well and had a lovely weekend. Mine was lovely. Joe and I showed our ages this weekend - we went to B&Q on Saturday....Joe wanted a new rug for his lovely flat (which is looking so homely now!). We were wandering around and ended up in an aisle of doors....so guess what we did....well what we wanted to do...yep we acted like children and wanted to play hide and seek in all the doors! So much for us being grown ups!

This week's challenge over at Bah Humbug! has also made me feel like a child again...the theme is Christmas stockings and I'm not ashamed to admit that my mum still fills a stocking for me and my sister every year! Yes, we are grown adults, Lorna is even married (don't worry - the hubbie gets a stocking too!!), but age doesn't matter - we still love stockings from our mum! Right, anyway...the lovely Bah Hunbug ladies want to see projects featuring Christmas stockings...so here is mine......

I decided on this cute Christmas tree backing paper to give a bright green background, perfect for showing off my lovely red felt stocking! Yes, I got in the sewing mood and made my own tiny stocking out of my felt scraps! I've used a blanket stitch around the stocking and then a running stitch to attach the white top. This is actually something my mum used to make when we were little - we had loads of these lovely stockings hanging on the Christmas tree - if we were really lucky we'd find chocolate coins in them! As this stocking has an open top you could put a little surprise in there too - I like this idea a lot and might make more for my friends at Christmas...shhh! don't tell them!Sheree...Becca....Anika....Lorna....if you're reading this please forget what I've just written and be surprised by your cards at Christmas! Ha, ha! For more stockings take a peek at their blog.

I'll also enter this in the Cute Card Thursday Challnge this week....the theme is "get a head start" and they have called for Christmas cards! Take a peek at thier blog if you'd like some inspiration, the DT cards are all gorgeous.

Anyway, I've got a good book that I want to carry on reading, so I'll say goodnight!

Even more flowers!

Hello there! Hope you're having a good week so far. I've been busy making lots of cards and I thought I'd share another one with you this evening which has a flowery theme.....

I think this would make a lovely card for any budding gardner out there, or maybe for somewho who just enjoys being in the garden with all the flowers! I've made this card for this week's challenge over at Papertake Weekly. The theme is "in the garden" and the DT have created some lovely cards for inspiration.

I've used some fab pink flowery paper that I've recently bought....it was on sale for just 25p for a huge sheet...super bargain! The sentiment was created on my computer and the image is from a set of flowery stamps.

Right, I'm determined to get an early night tonight....I want to read some more of my new book before nodding off!

Thanks for popping by today.

Summer Time Flower!

Evening All,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.....I had a brilliant Saturday...I spent Saturday being a tourist in London with my sister Lorna. We went to an amazing American style diner in London...the one I took Becca to in June...this time I had the pancakes! We then strolled through London to the Girl Guideing shop and then wanted around the Royal Mews. If you ever find yourself in London I'd highly recommend visiting the Royal Mews, which are the palace's working stables. For under £10 you get to see all the royal carriages, a limo and some of the horses. They even provide a free audio tour or guided tour - great value!

Anyway, enough about London and onto my card for today....as you may have guessed by the post title there is going to be a flower here....in fact a rather large one!

This shaker card has been designed for two challenges:

When I saw this week's challenge on Cupcake I knew it had to be a shaker card - I love them and love any excuse to make one! The Sir Stampalot challenge was a lot harder because there are so many things that remind me of summer time. In the end I decided that I do love the summer time because I can be outside so much enjoy my garden or the local parks. Flowers are so beautiful in the summer months!

For this shaker card I made a flower on the computer -  not sure why, but it seemed to work! I used acetate of course, plus a lot of mini 3D sticky pads and some gorgeous yellow seed beeds. These cards really are easy to make and I think look fantastic!

Right, I'm off to a Girl Guide district meeting now!

If it's Friday it's Christmas card time!

I'm really starting to enjoy my Friday mornings when I get to take a peek at the two Christmas challenge blogs that I regularly take part in! This morning I was confronted by two very different challenges - over at Winter Wonderland they gave the theme "Twas the night before Christmas" and at Bah! Humbug! they asked for cards for a special friend.

I finshed a rather long day in the office and came home full of ideas for these two challenges, but I have to admit I'm not 100% happy with either of  my designs.....especially the special friend one that looks a tad bit too handmade for my liking...but maybe that makes it more special because its a card for my Boyfriend:

I've used papers from my stash to make this card, along with some sparkly dots - you know I can't resist a bit of sparkle!

I'm a bit happier with my second card, which has a modern feel:
I like the idea of a little mouse sitting on presents under the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve....though to be honest I probably wouldn't think it was cute if I actually saw one! I'd probably scream quite loudly!

Right, just a quick post this evening as I'm feeling a bit hot and bothered and staring at my computer monitor isn't really helping the situation! I hope you all have a lovely weekend - I've got a busy one to look forward too!

No cards allowed!

Evening all - isn't it lovely and hot today...not that you'd know it my ice box office at work!

First off I just wanted to say thank you for everyone's get well soon wishes. Its so lovely to log on and read them all. I'm pleased to say that I am feeling much better now...summer bugs are not nice!

Right, on to a brilliant challenge from my favourite card challenge blog the Creative Cottage. This week it's the turn of the lovely Tracy to set the challenge and she has set a fab one......as my post title suggests...she wants projects that do not include cards! Now for a card maker that's a bit of a toughie! If you're stuck for ideas on this one, pop over to their blog and take a peek at the brilliant DT designs!

Here is what I went with.....

.......a yummy cake recipe card (it's not a greetings card honest - there is no inside!)...the perfect gift for a cake baking loving friend! I have to admit I was a little stumped to begin with, so I took a look around the Creative Cottage blog for some inspiration and came across the July freebie. The lovely paper and cupcake image gave me the inspiration for this recipe card.

I've used layers of pink card, the paper and image from the freebie set, a yummy cake recipe that I've used a million times and some sparkly dots for a little kitchen glamour! Perfect for a Birthday pressie.....or even a just because pressie!

There is also a DT call at Creative Cottage which I've entered....I love their blog and it would be brilliant if I could be part of their team...wish me luck!

Right, I was a little naughty at lunchtime today...my feet somehow took me into a local craft department and somehow I accidently bought some new clear stamps! Whoops! So, I'm off now to put them to good use!

Four Challenges

Evening All - hope you're all keeping well. Sorry its been a while since my last post - I've been a bit poorly! In fact yesterday I slept for nearly the whole day...I'm quite amazed at how much sleep I seemed to need! I've still got a cold.....honestly who gets a cold in the summer time...but I'm feeling much better today!

So, I have two cards for you today for 4 different challenges.....the first card is my weekly Christmas card...

Bah! Humbug's challenge this week is a difficult one for some of us crafters...they asked us to keep it simple with a less is more theme. If you need some inspiration pop over at their blog and take a peek at the DT designs. Hopefully this card hits the mark, with a simple design and colour scheme. The Ladies over at Winter Wonderland asked us all to get our punches ready and punch it out for this week's challenge - take a peek at the lovely DT cards.

My second card is for a man - shock horror! And the theme isn't card for a man - shock horror again!

As you know from previous posts, I really like this cheeky chappie and he fits in perfectly with two different challenges this week. The ladies over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge have asked to see water in our projects - there are loads of different variations on this theme over at their blog.

And there is a sporting theme over at Cupcake Craft Challenge, although their challenge is entitled World Cup Wonders they are happy for us to feature any sport! Take a look at the selection of sports on their blog.

I've added some extra little fishes for this fisherman to catch, along with a sentiment made on my computer.

I hope you like my cards this evening, as always I enjoyed making them. I think it'll be another early night for me tonight, but there is a little time to make some more cards I think!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
