Woo hoo...its the weekend!

Hello folks! Happy Friday!

First off I'd like to say hello to all my new followers! Its lovely to see you here! I'd also like to thank everyone for their lovely comments, its so nice to read them all!

Sooo....are you all getting ready to watch the Olympics opening ceremony?? I think I've managed to convince Joe that he wants to watch a bit of it....he's really not that interested though!

I have a quick card for you this evening...its a card that I've made for a work friend who is based in a different office to me. I tell her about my baking antics and she'd really like to sample some of my cakes, but she is based quite far away and I doubt they'd travel very well (I always remember sending my aunt and uncle in Bognor decorated gingerbread men one year....my aunt's was fine, but my uncle's was beheaded!!). Anyway, its Tracy's Birthday this week and I wanted to make her a special card.....

I might not be able to send her a real cupcake....but at least I can send her one that I've made (or coloured!!) - hee, hee!!

I've used fab stripey backing paper, which I have topped with some plain bright pink paper. I've added a border punched by my fab Martha Stewart punch. My sentiment is created on my computer and is backed with more of that pink paper. I've coloured my cupcake with my Promarkers and added some sparkle to the cherry with my Stickles. I've then attached both the cupcake and the sentiment using 3D sticky pads. Finally I added some faux white stitching.

I hope she likes it! I am actually visiting her later in August so will have to take some real cakes then!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
DYSU - for a friend
Digi Doodles - stripey

I hope you have a fab evening, whatever you're up to!

Nearly time for tea!

Hello there!

Its Friday - woo hoo! And the sun is shining - double woo hoo!!

Well its nearly time for my Blooming Tea Party for Marie Curie and I think we've covered everything...just got to set up tomorrow and wait for the guests to arrive! Here are some of the cakes that I've made...I am soooo pleased with how they've turned out!

To keep me relaxed I've made a couple of cards this evening...the first one reminds me of my kitchen antics getting ready for the tea party.....

I've had this stamp for ages, but I've never used it because its rather large! It is very cute though and it seemed to fit my week really well! I've coloured it with my Promarkers and added a little sparkle to my baking faries with my Stickles. I've used some cute retro can backing paper and some plain blue for the background.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

DYSU - food (it had to be a cupcake really didn't it??)

My second card shows what I'd like to be doing on Saturday night after the tea party.....

Again, I've had this stamp for ages and I love it....its just soooo cute!! I've used plain blue backing papers, along with some blue and white patterned papers. I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and added lots of sparkle to my bubbles with my stickles.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Digi Doodles - anything goes

Its hot dog month!

Well, they say that you learn something new every day and I really did learn something new today thanks to my lovely teamies at Celebrate the Occasion! In America July is hot dog month!!

I've never heard of hot dog month before so I did a little research and it turns out that the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council in America designate July national hot dog month - they encourage, support and sponsor events in the hot dog eating communities. There is lots of hot dog eating at these events, along with other fun activities.....plus money is raised for charities. Now this sounds like great fun....why don't we have a national hot dog month in England???

Anyway, to celebrate this fab month at Celebrate the Occasion this week we'd like to see a hot dog or two on your projects! Need a little inspiration? Pop by the Celebrate the Occasion challenge blog and see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week!

Isn't he a cutie??

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Digi Doodles - summertime - a BBQ always makes me think of the summer!
Kaboodle Doodles - Olympics, sports, outdoors, adventure of hobbies - I've gone with the outdoors...well you can't have an indoor BBQ can you??

We can't wait to see your hot dog creations!

Birthday Fishes!

Hello there! Hope you're having a good weekend.

I've spent a very long day at Joe's garage today...refurbishing some wheels I have bought for my car! They are lovely wheels, but needed some tender loving care. After 7 hours of TLC I gave up....I'm exhausted, was in need of a hot shower and lots of food! Plus I still have a wheel to finish!! This was me at the beginning of the day....optimistic and a bit happier than the other end of the day!!

Anyway, I left Joe to it and came home....I'm feeling a bit more human now and so decided to make a quick card before dinner time....

Isn't he cute? I've used a fab Pollycraft image, coloured with my Promarkers. I've used plain brown and blue papers and a lovely patterned paper to make this card. I cute the circles out of the blue papers using a punch and added a little faux stitching.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Water, water everywhere - water inspired card
Digi Doodles - male card

Right...I really need some food now...and an early night!

Happy Wednesday!

Hello Folks, hope you're keeping well today.

I have a little card for you today...

I still find it very hard to make cards for Dads. My Dad passed away last year and although I'm ok, its still a raw subject for me. In fact Fathers Day last year passed by just fine.....but this year all the adverts on TV are making me a little sad. Its funny how the mind works isn't it?!

Anyway, this red, white and blue extravaganza is for the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - colour theme - red, white & blue
Sweet Stamps - for Dad
Digi Doodle - get your bunting out (sorry no Digi Doodle image this week!)
Papertake Weekly - Anything goes - optional extra - for a man or boy
Oldie but a Goodie - anything goes - my item that is more than 6 months old is the stamp....I've had this for at least a year (probably longer!) and I pull it out of the drawer every so often as he makes me smile!

Happy Monday folks!

Sooooo....I've had a fab weekend....the sun shone all weekend...Becca loved her Birthday surprise....it was sooo much fun! We took Becca to the Ballgowns exhibition at the Victoria & Albert museum....a room full of gorgeous dresses, what more could a girl want?! Oh! I know! A Sex in the City Themed afternoon tea...complete with mini burgers and chocolate shoes!! The photos don't really do it justice....all the food looked and tasted amazing!

Right, tonight I decided to catch up on my challenges....so be warned there are a couple of cards to follow!! First off I have a very girlie card for you....

I've used plain pink and brown papers, along with some fab pink and brown polka dot paper. I've topped this with a trio of cupcakes and a setiment fit for a Queen! Finally I've added some faux stiches and little white dots and lots of glitter!!

Challenges Galore!

Happy Sunday Folks!

Hope you're all having a fab weekend! I survived my Brownie experience yesterday....I was tasked with supervising the circus skills equiptment....unfortuantly for me this was a very popular area with the Brownies! I think I probably saw all 550 of them at some point in the day!!

Today has been a lot more sedate....a trip to Tescos....some housework (boring!!) and some crafting!! I also decided to do some blog surfing to find some new challenge blogs to add to the ones I already join each week. There are soooo many out there!!

Inspired by all the DT cards I've seen today I got stuck in.....

I have to say that I am sooo pleased with this card (despite those polka dots giving me a bit of a headache!!) I've used blue backing paper, along with that fab polka dot paper. I've used a Digi Doodles vintage car image along with a Papermania stamped image and I think they look quite cute together. My little mechanic is fixed on the card using 3D sticky pads to make him look like hes in front of the car!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Digi Doodles Challenge - work related (hes a mechanic!!)
Crazy 4 Challenges - C4C137 - Happy Birthday
Truely Scrumptious - anything goes

Now for a card that I'm not so keen on....

This one hasn't quite turned out how I'd like it to....but hey ho! Along with the green backing paper and patterned papers, I've also used this quite LOTV teddy bears picnic image and some beautiful green organza. My image is coloured with my Promarkers.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Lili's Little Fairies - bear essentials
Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge - anything goes for kids
Tuesday Throwdown - material

Pop by all the challenge blogs mentioned to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created for these challenges.

I've also found some more fab challenges to keep me busy this week!! Pop by and see what I've been getting up to!!

Not the best colouring!

Helloooeeee!

Thank you to everyone for their lovely Birthday messages, I had such a lovely time this year and its so nice to read everyone's comments too.

I'm back! I've had a fab 24 hours....Joe whisked me off to Bournemouth yesterday afternoon as a Birthday surprise! We paddled in the sea, walked along the beach and stayed in a fab hotel. Then today.....we went to Monkey World! Such a fab place! Yes, I'm a big kid at heart and I don't care!! Joe loves the chimps and made a friend who he wanted to bring home!

As well as the two cards that I posted yesterday, I also started another one which I've had the opportunity to finish off this evening.....I'm not as happy with this one as my colouring is rubbish! However, I love the layout and so decided to share it with you anyway....

See what I mean.....rubbish colouring!

I want to enter this card in the following challenges:

Digi Doodle - paper lace
Papertake Weekly Challenge - a stitch in time (there is faux silver stitching on the grey paper lace!)

I hope this isn't too girlie for a man's card.....I always seem to make things a bit girlie!!

Something New....

....and for once I haven't bought it!

Happy Tuesday Folks.....don't you just love bank holiday Mondays...its already Tuesday evening! Woo hoo! Soooo...I was lucky enough to win a challenge recently and was awarded a $10 gift voucher at Digi Doodle....so a little shopping was in order! There was so much to choose from, but I finally decided on a selection of vintage style images.

As I was wandering aroung their shop, drooling over the images I thought I'd pop by the Digi Doodle challenge blog too and discovered that this week's challenge is "something new".....perfect for my new digi images!

This is quite a detailed image and I'd usually opt out of using my Promarkers when colouring an image like this, but tonight I decided to challenge myself and give it a go! I've coloured the pretty image with my Promarkers and then mounted it on white paper for a clean and simple white on white card.

I'm pleased that I tried out the Promarkers...the colouring isn't too bad...and practice makes perfect!

I'd also like to enter this card in the "white on white" challenge at Passion for Promarkers this week.

Pop by both challenge blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

Thanks for popping today and if you fancy trying to win some candy pop by my Birthday candy post!
