Whoops.....better late than never....

Hello there,

So, I was supposed to post this card yesterday, as we have a fab new challenge for you over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin.....but I got a little dis-organised by a weekend of country music at the O2 with the lovely Abi and Sammy from the Sweet Stampin family! I enjoyed the twang and cowboy hats a little bit too much and forgot to get my card organised!

Anyway, as they say....better late than never!

Our challenge this month is a "Blue Christmas" - interpret that however you like, as long as you create a Christmas card and there is some stamping involved! Here is my card....

I love this little cutie!

I've used a blue and white polka do background to mirror the snow in my image, I have then added some more blue and white patterned paper and a little Dollie! I have added a little colour to my card with my Promarkers and then added a little sparkle with some Stickles (you know me....I can't resist a spot of glitter!).

For more blue Christmas inspiration pop by the Christmas at Sweet Stampin Challenge blog....while you're there you can take a peek at our lovely sponsor this week....

As you can see Lorna and I thoroughly got into the spirit of country with our hats and checked shirts....

Autumnal Colours

Helloee - me again!

I'm back with my second post for today...this time we have a fab new challenge for you over at My Time to Craft. This week we'd like to see autumnal colours on your creations...so get your oranges and browns at the ready....any colour that reminds you of autumn.

I think this time of year is quite pretty really, as the leaves start to change colour....its like the last burst of colour before winter takes hold. I decided to celebrate this with my card this week...although I have to admit the colours are the only bit that are autumnal!

I've had this image for ages, but I haven't used it in a while. It always makes me smile as it reminds me of my other half Joe - he's a mechanic and so is never far away from his tool box...or a lot of grease!!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and framed it in plain brown backing paper. I have then used some fab orange backing papers in the background of the card, I really love the paper with the vintage cars.

Pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see how autumnal colours feature on the cards created by the other DT members this week.

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown - anything goes
Crafty Sentiments - anything goes

** Note to challenge blogs - I had issues linking up on Saturday.....so although it might look like I'm back linking...I'm not - I promise!

If you get the chance pop by these fab challenge blogs for some great inspiration!

Thanks for popping by today,
its lovely to see you!

Colour Combo Challenge

Hello there! Happy Saturday!

I hope you are well and had a fab week! This is yet another scheduled post for me I'm afraid...this weekend I am with Becca again...this time we're exploring the beautiful city of Bath! I went there last year, but Becca has never visited before. I can't wait to show her all the fab shops and beautiful buildings...not to mention sampling the odd afternoon tea! Hopefully I'll find somewhere new to review on our afternoon tea blog!

Anyway, I'll report back next week and let you know what we get up to! Now, on to important business...we have a new challenge for you over at My Time to Craft this week. Its a colour combo challenge this week and we'd like to see brown and turquoise feature on your cards....I love this combo its very pretty!

I've used a cute DigiStamp Boutique image which has been coloured with my Promarkers. I have added some sparkle to the bath bubbles with my Stickles.

Pop by the My Time to Craft Challenge blog to see how the fab DT used these colours on their cards this week.

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

DigiStamp Boutique - monthly competition
Papertake Weekly - something old, new, borrowed or blue - the papers I have used are all very old!

Pop by these fab challenge blogs if you've got a moment to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created.

Finally I though I'd leave you with some sweet treats.....

I made these for my two friends Kirsty & Jake as they did some kitten sitting for me recently...they are both big fans of my cakes and so I decided to leave them some "surprising" cupcakes!

Christmas with no red or green!!

Ho, ho, ho....Happy Wednesday!

I hope you're having a fab week...why the festive feel I hear you ask...well its time for another challenge over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin! This month we'd like to see projects that feature no red or green....now this might sound simple...but be warned...do not overlook the images in your backing papers! I am speaking from experience as my original DT card for this challenge had a brown and white colour theme to it.....until I realised that I'd used backing paper covered in robins...complete with their red breasts! Doh!!

Anyway, here is my card for this month's challenge.....

In some ways I'm quite glad that I had to go back to the drawing board as I actually prefer this card to the first one I created!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and then I've created my background with a collection of blue papers, both patterned and plain. Finally I added my sentiment and some faux stitching to the edge.

Pop by the Christmas at Sweet Stampin blog to see all the other gorgeous DT cards that have been created this month. You can also learn about the fab prize that is on offer this month, kindly donated by our fab sponsor....

I'd like to enter this card at

All style and no substance!

Hello there...hope you've had a good day!

Mine has been full of meetings....I have so meetings at the moment, but that gives me so little time to actually do the work inbetween the meetings! Silly really!!

Anyway, for all you yummy mummies in the UK I hope you enjoyed your Mothering Sunday and I hope you were spolit rotten. We took mum for her annual Mother's Day afternoon tea in London (an expensive tradtion that we started by accident years ago!!). This year we took mum to a certain 5 star hotel which has a Mad Hatters afternoon tea on offer....it looked brilliant and we were so excited to go.....

However, I'm afraid it was a sad case of style over substance! Everything looked so good, and there was a lot of attention to detail. The menu was presented in a copy of Alice in Wonderland, the teas were in minature perfume bottles and the sugar cubes were in a musical box. Shame that they didn't give us enough tea strainers....or spoons...and forget to tell us that the herb butter was in fact garlic butter! They also left us sitting there for ages when we first arrived...after informing us that we only had the table for two hours! When they did finally bring us our tea they managed to mix them all up! The food was questionable...but thats a matter of personal taste rather than anything else....but the service was awful!! We'd never go back and actually we were quite pleased when our two hours were up!

Here is Lorna sampling one of their themed delights...

Not exactly the face you should be pulling at afternoon tea!

Anyway, we had a lovely time anyway....we giggled a lot!

If you're in the UK you'll know that just as we thought spring had sprung, winter has decided to put in an appearance again...it's freezing!! Thats what make's this evening's card a little bit funny...as I was inspired by all the "spring time" challenge that are about at the moment.....

I'd love to be in a warm field full of daisys at the moment, wearing one of my vintage dresses and my flip flops...instead I am wrapped in so many layers, sat in front of the heater! Hee, hee!!

Anyway, my sentiment has been stamped and coloured with my Promarkers. I have then created a fresh spring time background with a pretty yellow paper and that gorgeous daisy patterned paper. I think this makes a very pretty thank you card!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - springtime
Cupcake Craft Challenge - its only words
Crafty Sentiments - hello spring

Up, up and away....

Hello there...well we've made it...it's finally Friday evening!

Its been a long week...I had a meeting in Reading on Monday morning and I spent all day Wednesday in Cardiff at another meeting. I'm so pleased that the weekend is finally here and I can stay in one place for a while! I'm quite excited actually as I am going to see the Russell Kane perform his new comedy act in Aldershot this evening with Joe, my sister Lorna and her hubbie. I'm cooking us all dinner and then off to the show, then they are staying with us in Farnham.

Anyway, before they all arrive I had a little time to make a quick card.....

Its not my usual type of card I know....there is no pink or purple....or cupcakes to be seen! I was quite pleased with it until I coloured the stamped image (I think it looked better in black and white) and I added the orange bunting (I'm not very good at bunting!!).

The layout is inspired by the fab sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week....

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Birthday Bubbles!

Good Morning! Happy Saturday!

Hope you're well today. Well long time no see!! Life has taken over some what this week and I haven't made any cards or posted since last weekend! How terrible!!

Me and my friends celebrated Halloween last weekend with our Halloween themed crafternoon tea...it was so much fun! We had spooky music playing, ate spooky treats and made spooky felties! Later in the evening we watched spooky movies! It was such a fab Saturday....here is our table dressed and full of homemade tasty treats.....

As well as little ghost cakes, we had a dead-grass pie (my sister's spooky version of a key-lime pie) and these adrorable ghost biscuits.....

So its another Saturday and that means its time for a new challenge over at My Time to Craft...and I have to say that I really enjoyed making the card for this challenge! This week we have a little colour combo challenge for you...we'd like to see your pink and brown creations! I love this colour combo....I think its so pretty.

Here is my card....

I've teamed my plain brown backing paper with some pretty pink patttenerd papers and a cute mini doilly. I think this gives that card a bit of a shabby chic feel.

I've coloured my cute image using my Promarkers and I have added a little sparkle to the Birthday bubbles with my Stickles!

Just Sepia

Happy Saturday! I hope you are well this morning!

So, its another Saturday...that means we have a shiny new challenge for you over at My Time to Craft! This week we have a colour challenge for you - we'd love to see your sepia creations....so get your soft browns at the ready!

The DT have created some fab cards as inspiration for you this week...pop by the My Time to Craft blog to see what they've made.

Here is my card.....

I've gone with a slightly vintage feel for this card as I think it suits the sepia colour tones well. I have stamped my image on card which I had already coloured with my Tim Holtz Distress Ink - I don't use this ink very often, but really enjoyed creating the ink effect on the card. I added a little more colour to the teacup with my Promarkers.

I have stamped my happy birthdat sentiment on a brown tag, and added soem faux white stiching around the edge. I have created the layout for this card using various soft brown patterned papers.

I'd like to enter this card over at the following challenges:
Allsorts - auntumn colours
DYSU - something vintage (my teacup!)

Hello There!

Happy Monday! Hope you've had a good day.

Mine has been long...again! I've still got a bit of a pathetic cold...bit sniffly..really annoying cough, but at least its not too bad! Thank you for all your well wishes...I really was feeling sorry for myself on Friday!!

So, its just gone 7pm and its really, really dark already!! What I love about this time of year though is the fab comfort food we all eat on these dark evenings!! After a long day in the office I decided to make one of my favourite chicken dishes for dinner ....chicken breast, chopped up chorizo, tomatos, pepper, onion, whatever beans I have in the cupboard and big glug of wine. Cook it in a hot oven for about 30 minutes. Its so simple to make and really, really tasty...especially when served with warm crusty bread! Yummy!

Anyway, cookery lesson over! I also have a card for you this evening!!

So for this card I have combined my cute little witch digi image from Digistamp Boutique with a fab pumpkin freebie image from Melonheadz. They are both too cute and so I decided that I wanted to use both of them! My images are coloured with my Promarkers and I have added some sparkle to the witches hat and the pumpkins with my Stickles.

I've gone with warm oranges and browns for this autumn inspired card. Combining two patterned papers, along with some plain orange and plain brown paper. I have also added a strip of punched border.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts - autumn trees and leaves (no trees or leaves on my card, but I have gone with the colours...I hope thats ok!)
Crazy 4 Challenges - Halloween
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Autumn/Winter

I've picked out those gorgeous orange colours and the pumpkins

Awesome Weekend...Again!

Hello there...Happy Sunday!

I hope you're having a lovely weekend....I've had such a lovely time. Joe is away for the weekend...its the last round of the British Drifting Championships....and so I decided to invite my best friend Becca over for the weekend.

She popped over on Friday evening and stayed with me until lunchtime today.....and I have had such a nice, girlie time! We've eaten a lot, read magazines, watched movies, went shopping, did some crafting and of course made time for XFactor! What more could a girl want??

I've made Becca a little card that I'm going to pop in the post tomorrow....but I thought I'd share it with you first....

Isn't he a cutie?? Becca already loves this little DigiStamp Boutique image....she loves anything cute and Halloweeny! I've coloured the image with my Promarkers and added some fab googly eyes. I've then followed a fab sketch from Papertake Weekly using gorgeous autumn inspired papers. Finally I added some faux stitiching.

I love how this card has turned out....and I hope it makes Becca smile too!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

I'm soooo excited!!

Hello there...hope you've had a good week! I am as my post title suggest....SO EXCITED! I have a fab weekend ahead of me...most of it spent with my friend Becca and my sister Lorna. I have been waiting for this weekend to come along for ages!!

Tomorrow I am going to The Berkley hotel in London to experience a Pret a Portea. For those of you who pop by regularly you'll know how much I love an afternoon tea....well a Pret a Portea is amazing! It's inspired by the fashion seasons and features fabulous shoe shaped biscuits and sweet treats in the colours of the seasons. I booked this tea back in May or June (its been so long I can't remember when I actually booked it!!) and I can't wait!

Then on Sunday we are all off to the Festival of Vintage at Epsom race course...a whole day of vintage! There will be shopping, fashion shows, exhibitions, dancing and loads of other things! How exciting!

Watch this space for a post full of cool photos!!

Anyway, while waiting for Joe to come home from work I decided I had time to make a little card....

The weather is most definitley changing at the moment...and hopefully this card captures those wonderful autumn colours that are appearing! I've gone with browns and oranges for this card...along with a stamp that I probably use way too often (but I don't care because I love it!). I've used my corner punch on the image. There is sparkle on that gorgeous floral backing paper and I have added more sparkle to the image.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge - cutting corners
Papertake Weekly - hazy shade of autumn

Keeping it Simple

Hello there....is it only Thursday?? Why is this week going by sooooo slowly?? Surely if I've had a Bank Holiday Monday the week should whizz by!!

Today I have a clean and simple card to share with you.....

Being one of those rather girlie crafters I always struggle a little when it comes to thinking of you cards. Trying to get the balance right is something I find a bit hard...so when I made this one I decided to go down the clean and simple route. Using just two stamps and some sparkly Stickles.

I love this mini tree stamp, and some of the eagle eyed of you might notice this is a smaller version of another one of my favourite stamps! I think its very elegant and works for so many different occasions.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Pink Elephant - thinking of you
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
Alphabet Challenge - only one colour plus white (black and white)

Pop by all these fab blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created.

Thanks for popping by today, see you again soon I hope!

Lot of Challenges!

Happy Sunday! Hope you are well today!

Phew! Hasn't it been a hot weekend? Becca and I had a lovely time in London yesterday....we went to Covenant Garden and then to the British Museum to see the mummies. We then had a lovely wander around Liberty's (have you seen their fantastic fabric floor??) Finally we had a picnic in Hyde Park! We walked for miles, but had a lovely day!

So today I have a pretty, girle card for you which has been inspired by several different challenges...

I've used a plain blue paper and a pretty flowered paper for this card. My LOTV image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added some metal pins, flowers and buttons to two of the corners.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts - heavy metal

Oh my goodness....

....I'm a poorly little crafter at the moment! I've had an awful bug all week and I can't seem to shift it! I am feeling a little better this end of the week, but I have a horrible cough and generally feel really awful! To make matters worse Joe has gone drifting and I'm home alone!

Today has been the first day that I've actually felt like doing anything....so I decided to do a little crafting...and came up with this sweetie....

Pink and purple papers, along with some pretty gingham tape make this cute Pollycraft image look even sweeter I think! I've used my Promarkers to colour the image and added a little sparkle with my pink Stickles.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - ice-cream/cupcakes
Sweet Stamps - Summer (don't know about you, but ice cream in cones always makes me think of the summer!)
Celebrate the Occasion - Happy Birthday
Digi Doodles - purple & pink (I love this colour combo!)
Oldie but a Goodie - Summer Holidays - this image reminds me of my summer holidays as a child when we were taken to Bournemouth or the Witterings - fond memories! My old thing this week is that purple paper in the bottom left hand corner....it came free with a magazine in February 2011!!

Right, I'm going back to my place on the sofa now.....complete with lots of tissues and a hot drink.

Hope you're keeping much better than me!

Catching up!

Hello there!
Hope you've had a good day! Soooo...I've missed a lot of challenges in the last week, what with the Race for Life and my friend's Birthday....so tonight I decided to catch up! The Race for Life was brilliant...Alex and I finished it in 35 minutes and considering the amount of gossiping we did on route I'm very pleased with that! I've raised about £100 too.....which I'm also really pleased with. Thank you everyone for your support!

I've also had fab news this week....I've won a prize over at Chocolate, Coffee and Cards. Plus I was picked as one of the first top 3 over at My Time to Craft....check out my shining new badges! Its always such an honour to be picked out by such talented crafters....thank you! Good news is supposed to come in threes....so I wonder what will happen next....a lottery win would be lovely! Hee, hee!

Soooo....here is my first card for tonight....I've been inspired by this lovely sunshine!

Isn't it yummy??

I've gone for pretty summer shades and a yummy image!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - photo inspiration - I took the summer theme and the colours yellow and pink
Passion for Promarkers - Glitter and pastels (and of course I've used my Promarkers to colour the image)

The Pink Elephant - photo inspiration - I've used the pink and summer theme
Crafty Sentiments - Bright colours - the ice cream is very bright!

Happy Wednesday!

Hello Folks, hope you're keeping well today.

I have a little card for you today...

I still find it very hard to make cards for Dads. My Dad passed away last year and although I'm ok, its still a raw subject for me. In fact Fathers Day last year passed by just fine.....but this year all the adverts on TV are making me a little sad. Its funny how the mind works isn't it?!

Anyway, this red, white and blue extravaganza is for the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - colour theme - red, white & blue
Sweet Stamps - for Dad
Digi Doodle - get your bunting out (sorry no Digi Doodle image this week!)
Papertake Weekly - Anything goes - optional extra - for a man or boy
Oldie but a Goodie - anything goes - my item that is more than 6 months old is the stamp....I've had this for at least a year (probably longer!) and I pull it out of the drawer every so often as he makes me smile!

Pop by all the blogs mentioned to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created.
