All style and no substance!

Hello there...hope you've had a good day!

Mine has been full of meetings....I have so meetings at the moment, but that gives me so little time to actually do the work inbetween the meetings! Silly really!!

Anyway, for all you yummy mummies in the UK I hope you enjoyed your Mothering Sunday and I hope you were spolit rotten. We took mum for her annual Mother's Day afternoon tea in London (an expensive tradtion that we started by accident years ago!!). This year we took mum to a certain 5 star hotel which has a Mad Hatters afternoon tea on offer....it looked brilliant and we were so excited to go.....

However, I'm afraid it was a sad case of style over substance! Everything looked so good, and there was a lot of attention to detail. The menu was presented in a copy of Alice in Wonderland, the teas were in minature perfume bottles and the sugar cubes were in a musical box. Shame that they didn't give us enough tea strainers....or spoons...and forget to tell us that the herb butter was in fact garlic butter! They also left us sitting there for ages when we first arrived...after informing us that we only had the table for two hours! When they did finally bring us our tea they managed to mix them all up! The food was questionable...but thats a matter of personal taste rather than anything else....but the service was awful!! We'd never go back and actually we were quite pleased when our two hours were up!

Here is Lorna sampling one of their themed delights...

Not exactly the face you should be pulling at afternoon tea!

Anyway, we had a lovely time anyway....we giggled a lot!

If you're in the UK you'll know that just as we thought spring had sprung, winter has decided to put in an appearance again...it's freezing!! Thats what make's this evening's card a little bit funny...as I was inspired by all the "spring time" challenge that are about at the moment.....

I'd love to be in a warm field full of daisys at the moment, wearing one of my vintage dresses and my flip flops...instead I am wrapped in so many layers, sat in front of the heater! Hee, hee!!

Anyway, my sentiment has been stamped and coloured with my Promarkers. I have then created a fresh spring time background with a pretty yellow paper and that gorgeous daisy patterned paper. I think this makes a very pretty thank you card!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - springtime
Cupcake Craft Challenge - its only words
Crafty Sentiments - hello spring

Nothing like a cuppa!

Hello there...Happy Saturday....I hope you've had a lovely week!

Sooooo....we have a fab challenge for you this week at My Time to Craft....its one of those themes that I always love to see on a challenge blog. This week's theme is "food and drink"...you can create anything as long as there is some food or drink in the image.

Now usually I'd go with a cupcake image...you all know me, thats an obviously choice! But this time I decided to do something a little bit different....

Ok, probably not too different from the type of cards you'd expect to see on my blog.....but at least there are no cupcakes to be seen (although she is probably holding a cupcake in the hand we can't see!!).

I've coloured my cute image using my Promarkers....and then I got really girlie with my backing papers and embellishments! I'm really pleased with how this card has turned out, it really reminds me of springtime with the soft colours and cute flowers everywhere.

Up, up and away....

Hello there...well we've made it...it's finally Friday evening!

Its been a long week...I had a meeting in Reading on Monday morning and I spent all day Wednesday in Cardiff at another meeting. I'm so pleased that the weekend is finally here and I can stay in one place for a while! I'm quite excited actually as I am going to see the Russell Kane perform his new comedy act in Aldershot this evening with Joe, my sister Lorna and her hubbie. I'm cooking us all dinner and then off to the show, then they are staying with us in Farnham.

Anyway, before they all arrive I had a little time to make a quick card.....

Its not my usual type of card I know....there is no pink or purple....or cupcakes to be seen! I was quite pleased with it until I coloured the stamped image (I think it looked better in black and white) and I added the orange bunting (I'm not very good at bunting!!).

The layout is inspired by the fab sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week....

Lots of pink!

Hello there...yes another day, and another card from me!

Hope you're having a good week so far. I'm actually in Cardiff today, as I have a work meeting there so this is a sheduled post!

After my girlie card yesterday I decided it was time for some more girliness...this time featuring lots of pink!

Told you there was a lot of pink! This is definitly a card for a girl!

I have used a combination of pink papers, both patterned and plain for the background, on top of this I have added some pretty lace and a cute mini doillie. I've added my image which has been coloured with my Promarkers and a sentiment made on my computer - both of which I have backed with some plain pink paper. Finally I added my blingy gem stones and a lot of sparkle to the image and the doilie using my Stickles!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge - sparkle (I entered one card yesterday, but this one is much better!)
Crafty Sentiments - pretty in pink
City Crafter Challenge Blog - shades of pink
Passion for Promarkers - one for the ladies
Tuesday Throwdown - lace and doillies

Feeling a bit girlie....

Hello there...Happy Tuesday!

I hope you are well today! Look at me with yet another post....Joe has been spending a lot of time in the garage recently (drift season is about to start and he has cars to get ready)...this means I can spend more time crafting!

I made this card last night while I was in a real girlie mood (I had one of my friends over for dinner and we had a good old gossip)! I was inspired by the fab photo which is The Pink Elephant's challenge theme this week.....

What a pretty bed! I just want to climb in there right now! I also love this cute colour combo, yellow and grey goes together so well and makes for a very pretty card!

Anyway, the combination of my girlie mood and this gorgeous photo led me to make this card....

This is a new stamp that I bought a little while ago and I haven't used yet. Some of you might recognise the pattern though as its made by Kanban...who also make those gorgeous cake/cup stamps that I love so much!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers, and added a little sparkle with my Stickles to the top of the bath and to the towel (it hasn't come out very well on the photo, but its there I promise!). I then used a combination of plain grey and yellow papers and that gorgeous patterned paper. I have added some faux stitching...I kinda wish that was in white now!

I've left the sentiment quite vague as I thought it could make a lovely Birthday card or a Mother's Day card...or for anyone in your life who needs some R&R!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

The Pink Elephant - photo inspiration
The Corrosive Challenge Blog - all that glitters
