What a brilliant weekend!

Happy Monday folks!

Thanks for popping by, its lovely to see you! And all the lovely sunshine!

Sooooo....I've had a fab weekend....the sun shone all weekend...Becca loved her Birthday surprise....it was sooo much fun! We took Becca to the Ballgowns exhibition at the Victoria & Albert museum....a room full of gorgeous dresses, what more could a girl want?! Oh! I know! A Sex in the City Themed afternoon tea...complete with mini burgers and chocolate shoes!! The photos don't really do it justice....all the food looked and tasted amazing!

Right, tonight I decided to catch up on my challenges....so be warned there are a couple of cards to follow!! First off I have a very girlie card for you....

I've used plain pink and brown papers, along with some fab pink and brown polka dot paper. I've topped this with a trio of cupcakes and a setiment fit for a Queen! Finally I've added some faux stiches and little white dots and lots of glitter!!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts - Birthday - Happy 3rd Birthday Cupcake!
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Royalty (hope my sentiment fits the bill!)
Truly Scrumptious - pretty in pink
Hooked on Crafts - all that glitters

My second card is inspired by a photo at Pink Elephant this week....

....isn't it a cutie?? I love polka dots and teacups, so this is right up my street! Here is what I created....

I've used plain blue, red gingham and light blue spotty (although you can't really see the dots!!) paper to create this card....along with a fab image from Digi Doodle coloured with my Promarkers. I was soooo lucky last week....I was picked as the winner of the work related challenge at Digi Doodle - thank you ladies!!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Pink Elephant - photo inspiration
Digi Doodle - lets go spotty
Make it Monday - Linky Party

Finally I have a rather more simple card for you....

Told you it was simple!! This is also my least favourite card!
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

DYSU - A little birdie told me
Cute Card Thursday - pink and green
Crazy 4 Challenges - one layer

Pop by all the challenge blogs mentioned above to see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created for these challenges.

Hope to see you again soon,

Look at my new stamp....

....do you remember that some of my cards appeared in the craft magazine Papercraft Inspirations earlier this year?? I was really pleased when I opened the pages and saw my own creations staring back at me! I'm even more pleased now because my prize arrived! I won some flower shaped cards, some watercolour pencils and the cutest little sheep stamp from the Hugs & Honey range.

Of course I had to use the stamp straight away and here is the card I made:

I've used a sketch from the latest Truly Scrumptious challenge as the basis for this card. The sketch is the main part of the challenge, there was also an optional challenge to have a theme of "april showers"...but I really wanted to use my new stamp and couldn't figure out how to turn him into an april showers themed card!! The DT however have come up with some fab designs, with lots of april showers featured! Take a peek here to see them.

The two floral backing papers come from a selection that my friend Sheree got me for my Birthday, I've put them together with some plain blue and purple paper. The sentiment was created on my computer and the sheep is attached to the card using sticky 3D pads. The flowers are punched out of more of the plain paper and I added little gems for some sparkle. Finally I added some glitter glue down the side.

I can't believe that this time last week I was lounging on a huge bed in my gorgeous hotel room!! The last week really has flown by!! It'll be Christmas again before we all know it!!

I'm looking forward to this weekend, the weather is supposed to be lovely....I'm going to read some of my new books in the garden I think!

Anyway, I'd better get going......thanks for stopping by today.

Wedding Wishes

Morning All, I'm going to be at the boyfriend's all weekend, with no internet access so I thought I'd get another card on my blog this morning before heading into the office. If you scroll down my blog you'll see that yesterday's entry was made quite late at night....I'd promised myself that I'd go to bed once I'd finished.....did I?? No I didn't!! I went shopping!!!

I found this fab blog called Bee Crafty where they have the cutest digi images to buy and download, and I couldn't help myself! You should take a peek at the gorgeous images they have on offer, click here to visit their blog. I got a couple of images and wanted to use one straight away!! What am I like?? Anyway, here is the card I created from my digi image:
I downloaded several images, but this one fits in with their current challenge, they want to see a romantic theme, and I think by using these lovely pastel colours I've given my card a lovely romantic theme. I've used plain and coloured papers, along with some of my gorgeous glitter glue. The DT over at Bee Crafty have used various other images in their cards, all gorgeous....take a peek here.

The gorgeous layout that I've used for this card has actually come from another challenge, over at the Truly Scrumptious blog they have given us this sketch as their current challenge. I've been using a lot of square cards for sketch layouts recently, so it was nice to work with a different shape. Check out the fab DT designs here.

Anyway, I think I better get a wriggle on....work is calling. I've been a bit naughty this morning.....I had sugar on my toast! Ha, ha! An awful habit I picked up in my teens and occassional revisit! Naughty but nice I think is the phrase!!

Thanks for paying me a visit today, hope you have a fab Friday!

Be still my racing heart......

.....I've well and truly got caught up with this Valentine lark and we're still in January!!  I don't know about you, but I can't believe it's the 20th of this month already!! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun!

Anyway, I wanted to show you this cute little card that I made before my Brownie meeting tonight (every minute counts!!)

It looks slightly better in real life - the scanner has decided to highlight my bad colouring and the sticky tabs I used to secure the vellum - neither of these show up when you've got the card in your hand!! Very weird!

I've used a square white card  as the base and secured a square of deep red backing paper on top of that. I then cut a piece of dotty vellum that sits across the whole card at the bottom. After that I got creative and drew my cute little heart runner on white paper and attached that to a square of black paper before adding it to the rest of the card. I've then embellished with two shiny red hearts, onto which I've added tiny red buttons (couldn't resist the buttons!). My sentiment reads "You make my heart race!", I created this on my computer.

I am pleased with how this card turned out.....the theme of red hearts came from the latest Caardvarks challenge. Take a look at their fab DT designs here I just love how different all the cards look!

The fab layout has come from the new Truly Scrumptious challenge, if you take a peek here you'll see the sketch that Nicole has created. To be honest I was a little daunted when I first saw it, but after looking at the gorgeous cards created by the DT I was encouraged to give it a go myself!

Before I go I want to share something that I heard on breakfast telly this morning which made me smile. Prince William is currently visiting Australia and as part of his visit he has met some children who asked him questions. There were different questions about his nan living in a castle and how much money he has. However my favourite one was whether he has a sword - beacuse he's a prince! It just reminded me how innocent children are and made me think that maybe children should be allowed to interview famous people - we'd probably find the answers to all the buring questions that no adult would ask!

Anyway, I want an early night tonight so I'll bid you farewell.
Thanks for stopping by,

Weird experience.....

......I have been stuck at my boyfriend's for most of this week...stranded by all the white stuff!! I have been cut off from the internet and separated from my craft stash (I knew I needed to refill the goodies that I keep at his, but I kept forgetting!!). I have had the last chapter of a book and daytime TV to keep me going! My knee is still not happy at the moment, so I had to stay indoors!! It has been a slightly depressing week, and I thought that come today when I was reunited with all my crafting items that I would be rearing to go.

Image my disappointment to realise that my heart's just not in it today!

Its one of those days.....I've pottered around doing not much really, and half heartedly trying to make cards. Its a bit weird to be honest! I'm blaming the snow (and my dodgy knee), I just want to curl up in bed and try and keep warm....or I want to stuff my face with comfort food all day! Neither of these things are particularly productive though!

Anyway, thats my moaning out of the way......I have managed to make one card that is worthy of sharing....and it fits in with a couple of card challenges which always makes me happy!

Over on Cute Card Thursday they have a challenge called "All New!" and they want to see cards with a new theme.....I opted for the new stash option and used a new present topper that I have been given for Christmas (part of a set). The DT have come up with some fab examples to inspire you: http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/2010/01/challenge-94-all-new.html

The layout I have used for this card comes from Mina at Truly Scrumptious Challenges. Its the first time I have visited this blog and I love it! Check out the DT examples for this challenge: http://trulyscrumptiouschallenges.blogspot.com/2010/01/challenge-23_05.html. As well as the layout they gave an extra optional challege of using pink, green and black as the colour scheme......not sure what happened...I seem to have missed the green out! Whoops!

For the card I used a black and white funky flowers backing paper, along with some bring pink card squares. I then used two circles - the bottom one is a hatched vellum and that is topped with a circle of handmade paper. I added the present topper and some little flowers for a girlie touch!

I'm hoping that tomorrow I will get my mojo back and will be maling cards all day...but for now I think I hear my bed calling!

Just before I go....one last thing....HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHEREE! Hope you had a fab day Hun! xx
