Whoops.....better late than never....

Hello there,

So, I was supposed to post this card yesterday, as we have a fab new challenge for you over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin.....but I got a little dis-organised by a weekend of country music at the O2 with the lovely Abi and Sammy from the Sweet Stampin family! I enjoyed the twang and cowboy hats a little bit too much and forgot to get my card organised!

Anyway, as they say....better late than never!

Our challenge this month is a "Blue Christmas" - interpret that however you like, as long as you create a Christmas card and there is some stamping involved! Here is my card....

I love this little cutie!

I've used a blue and white polka do background to mirror the snow in my image, I have then added some more blue and white patterned paper and a little Dollie! I have added a little colour to my card with my Promarkers and then added a little sparkle with some Stickles (you know me....I can't resist a spot of glitter!).

For more blue Christmas inspiration pop by the Christmas at Sweet Stampin Challenge blog....while you're there you can take a peek at our lovely sponsor this week....

As you can see Lorna and I thoroughly got into the spirit of country with our hats and checked shirts....

Christmas Critters!

Hello there,

Welcome back to my little blog, I hope you are well and are having a fab week!

I celebrated Christmas 2013 (yes you read that correctly!) last Friday with Lorna and my friend Becca. We hadn't got around to having our Christmas dinner (despite seeing each other on other occasions!) and so decided to go all out. We had dinner at Becca's house and then ventured out to the local pubs.....

Yes, we are wearing our Christmas jumpers and are armed with crackers! Hee, hee!

Anyway, onto the reason for this challenge - we have a fab new challenge for you over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin! This month we'd like to see your Christmas creations featuring Christmas Critters!

My mum loves sheep - it's her thing! So when I saw this fab digi stamp I knew I had to buy it.....it also fits in with our theme really well......

I have coloured my cute little Christmas sheep with my Promarkers and added rather a lot of sparkle with my Stickles! I have then run with a green colour scheme - using both plain and patterned papers. Finally I have added the wonderfully themed sentiment!

For more Christmas Critter inspiration pop by the Christmas at Sweet Stampin challenge blog to take a peek at the wonderful DT cards that have been created. While you're there you can also take a peek at our fab sponsor this month....

I'd also like to enter this card at the following:

Papertake Weekly - repeat, repeat (repeated holly pattern)

All White!

Hello there!

Hope you're well. Today is Saturday and so we have another challenge over at Sweet Stampin....and if I'm honest I found this challenge REALLY difficult!! The theme this week is "white on white"......so no colour please!

Making this card made me realise how much I enjoy using colour on my cards.....I really struggled to create a card that I liked....

I used a pretty sparkly vellum for the background and added a white punched border across the bottom, adding three punched flowers. I stamped my little sheep on white card, and added some grey faux stitching around the border. Finally I printed my sentiment on the computer.

I really hope this post reads ok.....I'm writing it on Friday evening....I've got Lorna and Becca around for a girlie evening.....and to be honest I'm a little distracted! There may have been lots of food eaten and may have been some bubbles drunk!!! So if this doesn't make sense I'm sorry!!

Thanks for popping by....please pop by the Sweet Stampin DT blogs to see some more white on white cards.

Sweet Gingham Birthday Wishes!

Happy Saturday everyone, hope you're having a lovely weekend.

A really late Sweet Stampin Saturday post from me this week, sorry! Its been a busy day trying to find a dress for Joe's sister's wedding which is suddenly in two weeks time! I've fretted about this for weeks, putting off the shopping trip, but today was the day and I'm pleased to say I've found a gorgeous 50s style tea dress!

Right, without further a do....the Sweet Stampin challenge this week is Gorgeous Gingham! So check out your paper stash and get crafting with your gorgeous gingham paper! I have to say I struggled a little with this challenge....assuming that I had plenty of gingham paper in stash to choose from....apparently this is all I have....

...literally that tiny rectangle was all I could find!! Oh well, sounds like the perfect excuse for a shopping trip!

I love this little stamp and haven't used him in ages, I think he looks soooo cute! I've picked a fresh green colour theme....to match my gingham BP and added some cute little punched daisys!

Check out the Sweet Stampin blog to see all the gorgeous Team Abi DT cards!

I've been baking...again!

Hello there! I hope you're keeping well!

I've had such a lovely evening, my mum cooked dinner for me...I made some cards...and I tried my hand at baking some biscuits. I'm usually more of a cupcake kinda girl, but my friend Anika bought my mum a fab baking book for Christmas and I was inspired to try some of the recipes! On behalf of mum I'd like to thank Anika....I love the book!! This evening I made some butterscotch cookies and some iced ring biscuits....I remember the iced rings from when I was a child and couldn't wait to try them out! They might not look as good as the pictures in the book, but I can confirm that they taste fab!!

Now onto the card I made! I've used a sketch from this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge and used the theme from this week's Stamp Fairy Challenge (layers & buttons!).

The sketch was fun to use and allowed me to use lots of layers for the Stamp Fairy Challenge. I love this cute stamp and the sentiment is one that I use a lot as it always makes people smile!

Thank you!

Hello there!

I've been busy this evening making thank you cards as someone has requested several in anticipation of Father Christmas visiting! It's nice to hear that someone wants to send thank you cards after Christmas. I love sending thank you cards.... call me old fashioned, but I think there is nothing better than getting a lovely card through the post with a nice message...better than all the bills and mailshots I seem to get!

I also made another thank you card for several different challenges.....

This little cutie is one of my favourite digi images...he's so cute with that little smile and rosy cheeks! This card is perfect for the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - Free and easy...anything goes

Pop by all the blogs mentioned above to see the gorgeous DT cards and projects.

Anyone who stopped by my blog recently will know it was my mum's 60th Birthday yesterday, I've already showed you her liquorice allsorts inspired Birthday card.....and here are some Birthday cupcakes that I also made for her....

They don't look that fab in this photo, and they are very well travelled cupcakes, but mum really liked them! I've taken basic vanilla and coffee cupcakes and wrapped them in royal icing to make them look like giant liquorice allsorts! Once I was happy with the base layer I stuck the black icing onto the cakes using some sugar syrup.

For mum's Birthday treat we took her up to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park and looked at all the lovely stalls. We then had a fab meal in the Kensignton Hotel, followed by a wonderful carol concert in the Royal Albert Hall.

Right, I can't believe there are only a couple of days until Christmas....I'm still not organised and so better go and do some wrapping!

Happy Birthday to Ewe!

Evening All...another late post for me....I was late night shopping with my sister earlier. We had a lovely time window shopping...and more importantly I found a pair of jeans that actually fit me! It was a demorialising experience to start off with, but after a few different shops and several pairs of jeans I finally found an Oasis pair that I really like. Woo hoo! A HUGE thank you to Lorna for helping me out - hope you enjoy your pink tights!

I hope you've all had a good day too! I'm glad it's Thursday evening....it's been a long week!

I have a cute little card for you today....

This little cutie is for the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday where they've given us the theme "Play on words". If you've visited my blog before you might recognise this little sheep, I love him and use him on a lot of cards! I think this is my favourite sentiment to use with him. The layout for the card comes from the sketch challenge over at Papertake Weekly. I enjoyed using this one! Take a peek at both blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards.

Oh....you might also be glad to know that I've finally packed my suitcase, although it looks pretty empty to me and I'm now worried that I've forgotten something! I'm finally feeling a bit organised!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Birthday Wishes for Ewe!

Evening All,

Wow - not sure what's happened to my week this week! I'm off to Germany on Friday and I still haven't packed! I've got a full day at work tomorrow and then Lorna is picking me up straight after work....I really should be ready to go...but no, I'm sat here at gone 11pm blogging!! There's no hope for me!

This will have to be a quick post! I've got a card that I'd like to enter in several challenges:

The challenges are:

The first two challenges are obvious...the Papertake probably not so! The challenge said we could use the saying how we wanted in our creations....so my old is the image (it's from a CD I've had for years), my new is the sketch....I didn't manage to put a "borrowed" item on the card, but my blue is the colour theme!

All the challenge blogs have gorgeous DT cards this week - pop along to see them all.

Right, I said this would have to be quick....I'll be back soon!

Look at my new stamp....

....do you remember that some of my cards appeared in the craft magazine Papercraft Inspirations earlier this year?? I was really pleased when I opened the pages and saw my own creations staring back at me! I'm even more pleased now because my prize arrived! I won some flower shaped cards, some watercolour pencils and the cutest little sheep stamp from the Hugs & Honey range.

Of course I had to use the stamp straight away and here is the card I made:

I've used a sketch from the latest Truly Scrumptious challenge as the basis for this card. The sketch is the main part of the challenge, there was also an optional challenge to have a theme of "april showers"...but I really wanted to use my new stamp and couldn't figure out how to turn him into an april showers themed card!! The DT however have come up with some fab designs, with lots of april showers featured! Take a peek here to see them.

The two floral backing papers come from a selection that my friend Sheree got me for my Birthday, I've put them together with some plain blue and purple paper. The sentiment was created on my computer and the sheep is attached to the card using sticky 3D pads. The flowers are punched out of more of the plain paper and I added little gems for some sparkle. Finally I added some glitter glue down the side.

I can't believe that this time last week I was lounging on a huge bed in my gorgeous hotel room!! The last week really has flown by!! It'll be Christmas again before we all know it!!

I'm looking forward to this weekend, the weather is supposed to be lovely....I'm going to read some of my new books in the garden I think!

Anyway, I'd better get going......thanks for stopping by today.

One piece of paper....

....afternoon all...what lovely weather...for ducks! Hope you're keeping warm wherever you are in the world! I'm sat here in my PJs with a mug of steaming hot tea! I HATE the cold!!

I've decided to carry on with the keeping it simple theme for today's card...it's another card challenge entry....this one is for the ABC Challenge Blog. They are now up to the letter O...and this week's challenge is "O is for...one piece of paper". The DT have come up with some lovely designs this week, take a peek here.

My entry is a card that I've been requested to make for a friend - she wanted a green "Thank Ewe" card, so here goes:

I've used a gorgeous green and whte spotty backing paper that I've recently bought as the basis for my card, onto which I've added two different ribbons and three gorgeous buttons. Ok, I know I said I was keeping it simple....but at least I've only used one piece of paper!

The little sheep is from a Crafters Companions decoupage sheet and I love him, I use this image quite a lot. He comes with a little cow friend, a piggie and some ducks!

The final touch was the red glitter glue....I tried to resist honest, but I couldn't help it! I felt that the red picked out the spots on the ribbon and gave a nice finish!

I seem to have used rather a lot of green recently......still it makes a nice change to all that girlie pink and purple!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Help - I'm obsessed!!!

Oh dear...I have a confession to make...it appears that I have become slightly obessed with a certain fluffy little animal. I've been busy crafting again...thank you cards this time....and I think I got a bit carried away.....take a look at this little lot.......

......I have to admit they are cute...but there are rather a lot of them!

The cute little sheep topper is from a Crafters Companion CD Rom, there is also a cow, a pig and some cute little ducks to choose from. This sheep is part of a decoupage set and her head is given a lift by using 3D adhesive pads. There are other layers that you can add, but I like to keep her simple and only use two layers.

Don't tell the others, but I think my favourite one is the light pink one with buttons. I started using ribbon on cards a little while ago, but this time I decided to try out some buttons instead. I chose three different sized buttons, in three different shades of pink. I sewed them onto the backing paper using pink embroidery thread, before sticking the backing paper to the card blank. Et Volia!

I may be addicted...but I think its worth it...I have a lovely collection of cards ready to send to people after Christmas!

Enjoy,
Wedgie xx

Introducing Hattie.....

....Now I'm hoping that my mum hasn't suddenly got all technical and manages to find my blog this week, because the little lady that I'm about to introduce you to actually appears on her Birthday card.....her Birthday isn't until Saturday and so she hasn't seen this card yet! Hee, hee!

I'd love you to meet Hattie...she's my new cute little sheep friend who will be appearing on my cards in the future......

...she's white, fluffy, loves her jewellery and is very girlie!

Hattie is made from basic white and black card, with fluffy white fabric for her hair and tail. Her features are hand drawn, to give her a cute finish and she has a necklace and a bracelet made out of tiny seed beads. To give Hattie more character I have given her a 3D head.

I've kept the card simple with coloured backing paper, and a piece of pretty ribbon placed down the side. I wanted to type the greeting, but mum was on the computer when I was making the card so I opted for a personal hand written message instead!

I hope you like Hattie as much as I do, I've had fun sketching designs for her and I'm pleased how she finally turned out.

I've been blog surfing again and although I'm a little bit late (again), Hattie is perfect for Cute Card Thursday's most recent challenge "Sew Beady". The ladies over there want to see projects that involve beads and they have come up with some lovely designs: http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/2009/12/challenge-90-sew-beady.html

Hopefully Hattie fits the bill too with her sparkly jewellery!

Thanks for stopping by!
