Something a little bit cute....

Hello there...yes its me...back again!

Instead of going to bed like a good girl last night, I decided to make another card! Hee, hee!! I do love it when the crafting bug bites!

I have a confession to make...I'm a tad bit silly and I read the Cupcake Craft Challenge this week as a grey and lilac colour combo challenge....probably because I love lilac and purple so much! So off I went and made the cup of tea card yesterday in perfect lilac and yellow...then I went to link it up at Cupcake and guess what....I'd got the colours wrong...well at least one of them! The challenge is in fact yellow and grey!! I still don't know how I confused grey and purple!!

Anway, here sporting the correct colours is my card for today.....

Now I'm not sure what it is about this card, but I am really pleased with it. I'm not sure if its that super cute birdie image....or the gorgeous papers or the fab colour combo (why have I never used yellow and grey together before??). But I really love this card!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and I've been trying to experiement more with shading and using the pens properly. I'm quite pleased with how Mr Birdie has turned out. I've used a plain yellow and plain grey paper, as well as two gorgeous patterened papers for my background. My sentiment is stamped.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenges - yellow and grey
Allsorts Challenge blog - lets get cute
Love to Create - the lovely Love to Create ladies are celebrating their first year as a challenge blog with a let's celebrate theme!
I Love Promakers - Happy Birthday
Stampin Sensation - Fur and Feather (I went with feather!)

Thanks for popping by today, hope I see you again soon!

A sweet post...

Woo hoo! Its Friday evening!

I am rather excited as I am going to see Stomp at the Ambassadors Theatre in London tomorrow afternoon. I've seen them perfom on TV, but never live and I can't wait! I'm glad this snow is staring to clear....I've been so cold I thought I was turning into a snowman!!

Anyway, I decided to brighten everyone's day with a sweet post. I got inspiration for today's card from The Pink Elephant who have a fab chocolate covered strawberries photo as inspiration for this week's challenge.

With this in mind I went for one of my favourite colour combos....a little bit of red and brown.....

I've stamped my image and coloured it with my Promarkers. I created my background by using a selection of red and brown papers, adding some faux white stitching and a cute mini bow.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Top Tip Tuesday - layers
Passion for Promarkers - favourite colour combo
Papertake Weekly - tie up your loose ends (use a bow!)
The Pink Elephant - photo inspiration
I Love Promarkers - anything goes

Pop by all these fab blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week!

Now this wouldn't be a sweet post without some cakes would it?? My lovely mum bought me some new baking equiptment last night when I visited....I am now the proud owner of the cutest little loose bottomed cake tins and a cake decorating turn table! I'm so easily pleased! I decided the best way to thank mum was with some freshly made cakes...and I was feeling a little nostalgic so I went with butterfly cakes (mum used to make us these when we were little!). These little beauties are mocha flavoured cake with coffee icing and chocolate sprinkles on the top!

Thanks for popping by today and thank you for all the lovely comments that people leave me...especially about my baking...I wish I could send you all a cake or two!

Sooooo....over at My Time to Craft we have a fab colour combo challenge for you this week...we'd like to see your cards featuring black, white and one other colour.

Here is my card....

I love this sentiment....its one I use quite a lot, but I think its fab and totally agree with it!! I've opted for black, white and pink for my card.

I've used plain black paper as the background, topped with some hot pink patterned paper. I then added an oblong of black and white polka dot paper...before adding my cute cupcakes! I've coloured my cupcakes with my Promarkers and added a little bit of sparkle to the bows with my Stickles. Finally I added Glossy Accents to the frosting.

No Design Paper Was Harmed in the Making of this Card!!

Hello Folks - Happy Monday!!

Hope you've had a good day. I had a meeting with some IT consultants at work today....I was with them for an hour and a half and I think they might have sucked all the knowledge from my head! It was an intense meeting!!

Now I'm home.....and its craft time!!

Now I'm not happy with this card....it seemed like the more I did the more I disliked it!! So I stopped.....and here is the finished card! I love the colours, but I think I've struggled with the lack of design papers here. I've used pink and cream papers, a lovely piece of cream lace and a cute Polly Craft image (my favourite!!).

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
Cupcake Craft Challenge - a Birthday card with no design paper
Pollycraft Monday Challenge - colour inspiration...pinks, reds, cream & white
Make it Monday - Linky party.....pop by to see all the gorgeous makes!

Now remember yesterday I said I'd been baking.....well I forgot to share a photo with you!! Here they are....pretty swirly vanilla cupcakes....with pink sprinkles and a little pink glitter dust! I think I might eat one with a cup of tea now!!

Thanks for popping by today,

Lots of Green!

Happy Saturday!

I'm hoping this post has appeared properly...I've had to schedule it to pop up automatically because today I'm dragging Mum to the Stitch & Craft show at Olympia....poor mum gets dragged around every year! This year we're also attended a workshop though so she'll get to sit down for a bit!! We're learning how to make paperbeads...I'll let you know how we get on!

So, its Saturday....and that means we have a new fab challenge for you over at Sweet Stampin this week. Our sponsor this month is Joanna Sheen and our weekly sponsor is Emerald Faerie.

Our challenge this week is in honour of St Patricks Day.....we want to see the colour green feature on your cards. Each DT member has kindly been given a fab image to play with by Emerald Faerie - my image is soooo cute - thank you!

After rummaging through my stash I realised that I didn't have many green papers! I've managed to feature several shades of green...plus some polka dots! I've coloured my cute fairy using my coloured pencils and added some glitter to the dandilion.

Domesticated Goddess Alert!

Good evening folks - a little late night post from me! I hope you've had a fab Monday! I have to say I'm feeling very pleased with myself, as this evening Joe and I ate my own homemade frozen oven chips with our dinner! Yep! I made frozen chips and they actually tasted really good! There is something so satisfying about eating things that you've made from scratch!

As well as my zumba class this evening I've also had time to make a little card....

I've created this card for the "spread your wings" challenge at Allsorts this week and the "yellow and red" colour challege at Cupcake Craft Challenge. I thought I was going to struggle with the spread your wings challenge, then I remembered this cute little stamp! I have to say I love this colour combo...its so bright and cheerful...guaranteed to make you smile!

Pop by the challenge blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards!

Right, I'm off to bed in a bit!
Thanks for popping by today, I love reading all your wonderful comments.

Weird Weather!

What a day! First off it was REALLY wet and a bit windy....then I had snow...yes actual snowflakes falling from the sky.....then finally some lovely sunshine!! I didn't really know what to do with myself today and with that weird weather going on outside I decided to stay indoors! I've watched a movie, read a magazine, made a red thai chicken and sweet potato curry and done some baking! What a busy, but relaxing day!!

Sooooo....here are some of my new cards....

First off for the pastels challenge over at Passion for Promarkers I have this sweet card.......

As you probably know I love this stamp, its so scrummy! I've used some pastel coloured baking papers, a punched border in the middle and my scrummy cupcake along with the sweet sentiment.

My second card is for the Green for Go challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week....

The ladies want to see green feature as the main colour in our creations this week....I opted for a some fresh spring inspired backing paper to match the darker green and fresh pink papers. I'd also like to enter this in the Cute Card Thursday Challenge this week which is "signs of spring". I've used a cute jam stamp on this card because I know as spring is around the corner so is my mum's amazing homemade jam! Yummy!

Finally, another month brings a new challenge at Sir Stampalot and this month they'd like us to take inspiration from some new kits they have. There are some gorgeous backing papers, some swirls, pearls and buttons to inspire us!

I took my inspiration from the cute polka dot paper that features in the kit. I love polka dots, they always make a card look cute. I've added a fun sentiment and some stamped cupcakes to finish the card.

Now I also mentioned that I've been baking....well yesterday I made some mini victoria sponge cakes and today I've made a delicious pile of chocododdles (a fab Nigella recipe which is part cake part biscuit and really rather tasty)!! I'm really glad that I have lots of willing volunteers to sample my goodies otherwise I don't think my clothes would fit anymore!!

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you've had a fab weekend!

Lots of yummy food!

Hello peeps! Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Warning...if you're currently on a diet you might want to skip the next bit!!
My weekend has been fab....yesterday was spent mooching around London with my sister Lorna, we wandered around looking in shops and generally having a good natter....then we stumbled across the most amazing ice-cream boutique (yes thats what they called it!!). Its called The Icecreamists and they serve amazing ice-cream, yummy hot doughnuts and fab coffee....this was my rather naughty lunch (I think its lucky we did lots of walking too)!

Today I have been to the Make It crafting exhibition at Farnborough...I was really looking forward to it, but I have to say I was a little disappointed....at least a third of the stalls were non-crafting related!! I have also done a little baking (more about that later) and made some cards....

This card was inspired by the following challenges:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - awesome sketch
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - white on white (as little colour as possible)
Cute Card Thursday - winged things

I usually struggle when it comes to non-colour cards....I love my baking papers in all there glorious colours! However, I actually enjoyed making this card. I've used both embossed papers and punched papers to add interest. I have highlighted the cute little chicks to make them stand out a little.

I love this sentiment...it makes me smile!! This card is for the "its your choice" challenge at Allsorts this week.

Now where is this baking I mentioned earlier I hear you say. Well, I decied I wanted to bake some cakes today, but couldn't decide what flavour to make....so I made several! I have made coffee cakes, vanilla cakes, baileys cakes and a new flavour that I haven't tried before....strawberry and blueberry! I made these an iced tea mix...I hope they're tasty!

Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed popping by today...its lovely to see you!

Colour Challenges!

Evening folks - happy Friday!

I hope you've had a good week....mine has flown by and here we are again on a Friday evening with the weekend streching ahead of us....wonderful!

I've spent the last hour blissfully crafting while waiting for Joe to come home from work. We're having a homemade pizza and movie night tonight....I'm really looking forward to it!

Anyway, my first card is for the anything goes challenge at Allsorts this week and the black and white colour combo challenge at a Passion for Promarkers...

Hee, hee....I love this sentiment, it makes me smile! I've used my ivory Promarker to colour my teacup (I hope the Passion for Promarkers ladies lets me have this!!).

My second card is for the fab Fluffy Pink Cupcakes challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week.....what a fab challenge!! I'm also entering this card in the "use 3 papers" challenge over at Simon Says Stamp.

So I have three fab pink papers.....one yummy cupcake and a fluffy pink flower! Along with another fab sentiment that I can relate to!

Don't forget to pop by all the blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

I hope you have a fab Friday evening....whatever you're up to! And don't forget to pop back to my blog this weekend....I feel its going to be a baking weekend!

Happy Valentines Day

Hello there...hope you've had a sweet day!

I've got a lovely glass of red and I'm waiting for Joe to arrive for our romantic dinner....so with some spare time what did I decide to do....what any crafter does....I made a card!

This card has been distressed around the edges (I'm not a fan of distressing - it actually pains me to do this to my lovely backing papers!!) to give a shabby chic feel that I think matches the pretty teacup image perfectly. I've also added a shiny button and some twine, along with lots of faux stitches! My tea has been coloured using my Promarkers.

I'd like enter this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenges - entwined (use twine)
Papertake Weekly - colour combo - black and white and red all over!

Pop by all the blogs mentioned above to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created.

Well, I'd better turn my attention back to dinner now!

Time for tea!

Hello folks, hope you've had a good Monday.

I'm back from my Zumba class...it nearly finished me off this evening....I can't wait to go to bed!! All I can think of as I'm shaking my hips is that I hope my winter insulation will shake off quickly!
So, this weekend I went to my local shops and looked through all the craft magazines - I subscribe to one magazine that I really like, but I always take a look at the others each month...you never know what you'll find! This time I was pleasantly surprised with some really sweet freebie stamps...

As well as these cute ice cream sundaes there is a Birthday cake and a jar of sweets.....soooo cute!

This card has been created for the following challenges:

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - red, white, black and some texture
Allsorts - Free and Easy
This weekend we had a Valentines themed crafternoon tea at my sisters flat. There were 8 of us in total and we ate lots of very yummy food and made cards. As well as heart shaped biscuits and chocolate covered shortbread hearts, Rafina's gorgeous red velvet cupcakes and Lorna's homemade scones. Yummy! I also made some bread for the open sandwiches. No wonder I need to keep going to Zumba!!

Catching up!

Hello folks - hope you're all keeping well.

Its still rather chilly out there and we're bracing ourselves for some more snow tonight in Hampshire. We've got a crafternoon tea at Lorna's on Saturday....I hope I can get there!!

Right, I think my creativity has been frozen over by all this coldness this week....I've really struggled to make any cards I wanted to share! So, I came home tonight and decided I wanted to catch up on all the challenges I've missed this week!

First off....lets get this straight....this is NOT a card I would give to Joe....I'm sure you'll understand why....

Hee, hee! I'm sure someone else can happily give this card to their other half....but I couldn't...and even if I did Joe would know I was lying!!

This pink and red creation has been made with a selection of pink and red backing papers and topped with a hand written sentiment and a stamped cupcake which has been coloured by my Promarkers. I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Simons Says Stamp - love is in the air
Papertake Weekly - anything goes
Cute Card Thursday - pink valentine

Next I have a card that I'm not too keen on...I LOVE the colour combo....but I feel there is something missing....

I've used grey and purple backing papers, topped with some strips of sparkly grey paper. I've attached my stamped teacup using 3D sticky pads to make it pop and I've coloured the image with my Promarkers. I've added some faux stitching around two of the edges and around the stamped sentiment.

This card is for the grey and purple challenge over at a Passion for Promarkers this week.

Don't forget to pop by all the blogs mentioned to see the wonderful DT cards that have been created this week.

Colour Combo Challenge!

Morning Folks!

Can you tell I'm off work at the moment....here I am with another card!! This mornings card is for the Allsorts Challenge thats been running over Christmas...its a colour combo challenge....our cards must be blue and brown. I love this colour combo, it always looks sooooo pretty!

I decided I wanted to make a pretty card to match the colour combo....so I got my little teacup stamps out. There is a little bit of sparkle in there, and some punched paper.

Pop by the Allsorts Blog for some more wonderful inspiration!

Don't forget to pop back tomorrow to see the new challenge from Sweet Stampin!

Thanks for popping by day,

PS - Forgot to say that the Cola Cupakes that I made yesterday were very tasty! I think I might use more cola syrup next time because the flavour was quite faint, but the sponge was amazingly soft......yummy!!

I love Katy Perry!!

Hello there, lovely to see you!

I've had a fantastic weekend....the Katy Perry concert on Saturday night was amazing! I bought the tickets for Becca's Birthday back in June...so its been a long wait, but it was definitley worth it! I had standing tickets which I had my reservations about, and to be honest we did stand for a long time and get shoved about by the great British public.....but I wouldn't have changed them for the world! We got quite close to the front, and the atmosphere was AMAZING! Katy looked and sounded awesome, it was probably the best concert I've ever been to...yes, better than Take That!

Right, back to business...I've been crafting! There are several challenges this week that fit together nicely, so I've been having fun going through my paper stash and here is my card.....

The colours are for two different challenges...

White and one other colour - Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge (I've gone for white and lavender)
Lavender and Lace - Allorts

.......and my cute embellishments are for the Buttons and Bows challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week.

Anyone who as stopped by before knows that I love my girlie cards and my favourite colour is purple (or shades of!). So, I decided to get my tea set stamps out and my glitter and get crafting! I've made my own lace using white paper and a paper punch (Allsorts ladies I hope thats ok!), this puch reminds me of dollies, its very pretty! I couldn't find any bows in my stash so I made one from ribbon. I enjoyed picking out my buttons....I haven't used buttons in ages!!

Colour Challenges!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope you're all well and having a lovely weekend. I've had a fab day today, Joe's been at work and so I decided to spend some time in the kitchen. Several hours later I have lemon cupcakes, dotty butter biscuits, homemade crisps (made in the microwave) and pimms ice lollies! What a fab afternoon!

As well as baking, I've also spent some time at my craft desk.....something that always helps me relax! Today I've created two cards for two different colour challenges. I love colour challenges because they push me out of my comfort zone....you know me I love pink and purple....I can't get enough...but colour challenges make me look at other colours that I often neglect.

First off we have the "Black and White" challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge:

I've kept this card very simple, using some new cute stamps that I got free with a craft magazine, a little dotty paper and a little black paper.

And secondly I have a card for the "Red card" challenge over at Allsorts this week:

The cupcake tier is another free stamp from the craft magazine, this time I've added one of my favourite sentiment stamps, along with red paper, the cute dotty paper and some red stickles for a little sparkle. Pop over to both blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards.

Right, I told you at the beginning of the post about my kitchen exploits today...well here are my goodies!

I can't believe how easy the crisps were to make...they took a little while to do and they're still crisping up at the moment...but the couple that I've sampled are delicious!

Sketch Time!

Hello campers, how are you today?

I have a little card that I'd like to share with you today, this is based on a wonderful old sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.....

...isn't it a cute sketch? Check out the SSW blog to see how the DT have used this sketch on their fab cards!

I hope you like the sentiment...its a bit long, but I think its fab! It comes from a book of sayings that I've got on display in my room at mum's place. I love flipping through it, as they all make me smile!

Now, I've been practising with my Promarkers again and created this card with this week's challenge at Passion for Promarkers in mind. This week they have a colour combo theme - blue and brown (or you can opt for pink and brown). Pop over to their blog and see all their gorgeous creations. While I'm thinking about my Promakers I'd love to ask you all some advice - what card and ink do you use when stamping images that you'll colour with your Promarkers? Any advice will be gratefully recieved!

One last thing I have to share with you all is my latest bake.....well it wouldn't be one of my posts without a little cake action!! These are lemon cupcakes made with lemon juice and rind - they taste delicious! I wanted to make pretty cakes and so spent a bit of time on my icing - flooding the cake first and then adding the detail!
Thanks for popping by my blog today, its lovely to read your comments. Don't forget to pop back on Saturday to see my first official challenge at Sweet Stampin....I'm soooo excited!!!

Ohh la la!

Evening everyone....yes another late night post from Surrey!

Well, it was Dad's funeral last Friday and all I can say is that it was a very happy day, I will always smile when I remember it. We had a humanist ceremony which was lovely and very personal, and so many people attended - it was a bit overwhelming really. We catered the wake ourselves, so last Thursday was spent in the kitchen....and I made Dad's last cup of tea (his favourite drink).....

It was a bit of a mega cake and not many people knew about the rainbow inside, so it was a lovely surprise when I cut it! Apparently it was the tastiest cake I've ever made!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for leaving me your lovely comments, its so nice to know that there are people all over the place thinking of me and my family at the moment - the crafting community is such a nice one.

Right, on with some challenges.....tonight I have a saucy little card fit for two different challenges...first off Sweet Stampin's challenge is "Oh la la".....they've called for something a little cheeky! Secondly, Cupcake Craft Challenge has set a fab zesty colour combo....lime green, orange, yellow and white. Here is my card....

Ok, so I didn't have any saucy stamps or digi images to hand so I decided to try and make a digi image of my own using my graphics pad. Not sure I'd like to wear this pair of knickers, but I just love this sentiment....it always makes people smile! I love these colours together, its nice to make something with no pink or purple for a change! Don't forget to pop over to both blogs to see all the fab DT cards...they're all gorgeous!

Right, I suppose I better head off to bed as its getting very late and I need my beauty sleep! Ohhhh....before I forget, I've got some really exciting news to share with you tomorrow....so don't forget to pop back here on Wednesday!

Thanks for popping by today,

Home Sweet Home

Evening All! Hope you've had a good day.

I have a little card that I'd like to share with you this evening....

In the background I've used plain black and red backing papers and some black and white polka dot backing paper that I created myself using a new stamp! On top of that I've used a house die cut from white card and backed with red card, I've used 3D sticky pads here to add some dimension to the card. I embellished the house with black pen and some black glitter glue.

I then created three paper flowers from punches, layering the flowers and adding a little more black glitter glue. I attached the flowers to the backing paper using some thin black ribbon, finally I added my sentiment.

The colour combo for this card comes from The Shabby Tea Room...this week their theme is "classic elegance" using red, white and black. Take a peek at the gorgeous DT cards for some inspiration. I'd also like to enter this in the "make your own flowers" challenge over at Allsorts this week. The fab DT have got really creative and made all kinds of flowers - take a peek at their blog too!

Thanks for popping by my blog today,

Coffee and cream!

Hello there! Woo hoo! It's a Wednesday evening...it's 7:30pm...I've had dinner and made a card! What's going on I hear you ask! Well, it's half term this week, so I get a welcome break from Brownies and Guides. I love my role, but do need a week off every so often! It's so nice not to be rushing around!

Anyway, I mentioned a card....and here it is....I'm really pleased with this one...

As it's a Wednesday the fab layout comes from Sweet Sketch Wednesday. If I'm honest I found this sketch a little complicated, but I perservered and I'm pleased with the end result. The image choice and gorgeous flower are for the Penny Black at Allsorts monthly challenge where the theme is "say it with flowers". My colour combo is for two challenges...firstly Simon Says Stamp has a "coffee and cream" colour combo this week (they've also got a DT call this week) and Paper Sundaes have called for masculine colours...I thought the green paper went very well with my browns and cream. Pop by all the blogs mentioned above and see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created - they're fab!

I've got a fun weekend to look forward to...Saturday is Crafternoon tea with the girls...we're all meeting at Lorna's for a homemade afternoon tea on Lorna's vintage china. Then we're having a crafting session in Lorna's fab new craft room...I really need to decide on what craft we're doing this time! I love these days...nothing better than drinking from a bone china teacup and eating delicious cake with your friends! Then on Sunday I'm going to the Make It show in Farnborough to spend lots of pennies! I can't wait!

Thanks for stopping by today,

A spooky time and a card!

Hello there, hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Well, I've been a busy bee and so I think this might be a long post today! Do you remember the other day I mentioned I was going on a ghost bus tour in London? Well I went on Thursday evening with my sister and we had such a good time! I laughed so much that I cried! I haven't enjoyed a bus trip so much before!! The tour took place on an old 1950s/1960s double decker bus and it lasted about 75 minutes and took in all the sights of London's ghosts! If you're ever in London I'd highly recommend taking a ghost bus tour!

Of course I've also been crafting this weekend too and today I've made a lovely easel card inspired by three different challenges.....Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge asked for some fancy folding....Sweet Stampin Challenge gave me the colour theme of red, white and blue and finally Allsorts asked for something inspired by nature.

As you probably know I love this stamp of the tree and use it as often as possible! I love the fact that it can be used at any time of year. Pop by all the blogs mentioned above to see how the DT members used the themes this week, the cards are all gorgeous!

As well as crafting I have also been baking...something I haven't done that much of later....but Joe bought me a lovely mixing bowl for Valentine's Day and I wanted to use it! Yesterday I made some lovely fruits of the forest cupcakes using jam for the flavouring. I've iced the cupcakes with some lemon butter icing and added some pink sugar glitter for a bit of sparkle!

I've also treated myself to Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts book...I already own and love her other craft encyclopedia and can't wait to get stuck into this one! Right, I'm off to read my new book and decide which project I want to try first! Enjoy your evening and I hope to see you again soon!
