Bingo!

Hello there...hope you're all well today!

I've had a lovely long weekend...I really enjoyed seeing Hairspray at the theatre last Thursday...I was singing and dancing in my seat! I spent yesterday at the Stitch and Craft Show at Olympia with my mum and Becca...we had a brilliant time looking around all the stands. I even saw Dawn Bibby...not that mum or Becca knew who she was! I got a fab new stamp set from Kanban that I wanted to use straight away.....

Isn't this stamp cute?! There is also a lady cooking and a lady having tea! Cupcake Craft Challege have a monochromatic challenge this week....and I decided pink was the way to go with this image! I also bought some Promarkers at the exhibition yesterday, and so this was the first image I coloured...the black ink has bled a little so think I need to use a different ink for stamping...but I'm pleased with the colouring...onwards and upwards!

I've also been inspired by The Shabby Tearoom Challenge this week where they are having a game of bingo! We can pick three elements for our card from their grid, as long as they appear in a row. I've gone with buttons, flowers and glitter....the glitter may not be obvious, but I've used it on my flowers and on the dress in the image.

Finally, I've been baking again...though I suppose thats not a surprise to you! I've taken the cake bites a stap further and created cake pops this week.....the lolly pop sticks aren't as chic as I would have liked, but its a start! These are vanilla and coffee flavoured cake pops, I either added icing swirls or dots, a little pink glitter or a handmade flower.

Thank you for popping by my blog today!

The Good, the bad and the ugly!

Hello there - Happy Monday!

Right...I'm going to start off with the good...this is a card inspired by the theme over at the Shabby Tea Room this week..."luck of the Irish"....they'd like to see green cards!

I know there isn't any four leaf clovers, but it is green! I was asked to make a Birthday card featuring a chameleon and I'm quite pleased with this little fellow! Hope the Shabby Tea Room ladies like him too!

Now for the bad...and I'm warning you it is bad! Have you ever got to a point in life where you start thinking...I just want to get off?!? Well, I think I'm there right now! Too much is happening and I think my little head might just explode! In the meantime it seems that maybe my creative side has imploded as I created this not so fab card this evening...

This card is inspired by this week's sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday...yes I know I'm late this week! Sorry Arlana - I haven't really done your lovely sketch any justice this week!

I also hear you asking "why so many polka dots Wedgie?" ...well that's inspired by the pink polka dot challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week. I normally love polka dots, but I think I went a bit crazy here, maybe I should have stuck to the one backing paper!! Or maybe its that blue ribbon...what possessed me?!? I'm really not keen on this card and I wasn't going to share it with everyone, but hey...I spent time making it so thought it deserved an airing!!

Finally the ugly...well to be honest these aren't that ugly, they're just messy...but I didn't want to name the post - the good, the bad and the messy! I've been baking this evening...this time I've made some yummy biscuits. They've got a delicate almond flavour and the icing is lemon to cut through the sweetness of the biscuit. I had a lot of fun decorating them and they taste delicious!

Right, I'm going to clean up the kitchen now...there is icing everywhere!

Thanks for popping by today, Wedgie xxx

Home Sweet Home

Evening All! Hope you've had a good day.

I have a little card that I'd like to share with you this evening....

In the background I've used plain black and red backing papers and some black and white polka dot backing paper that I created myself using a new stamp! On top of that I've used a house die cut from white card and backed with red card, I've used 3D sticky pads here to add some dimension to the card. I embellished the house with black pen and some black glitter glue.

I then created three paper flowers from punches, layering the flowers and adding a little more black glitter glue. I attached the flowers to the backing paper using some thin black ribbon, finally I added my sentiment.

The colour combo for this card comes from The Shabby Tea Room...this week their theme is "classic elegance" using red, white and black. Take a peek at the gorgeous DT cards for some inspiration. I'd also like to enter this in the "make your own flowers" challenge over at Allsorts this week. The fab DT have got really creative and made all kinds of flowers - take a peek at their blog too!

Thanks for popping by my blog today,

Feeling a bit girlie....again!

Ok, so I couldn't resist...give me spare time and I either surf the web or make cards! Tonight I did both...inspired by SSW earlier I decided to surf the web some more and see what other gorgeous blogs I could find....there are so many out there, but one that grabbed my eye is The Shabby Tea Room (do you think it was the name that grabbed my attention?!?). The DT create gorgeous cards on a weekly basis and their blog is absolutely gorgeous too - take a peek!

Their challenge this week is buttons and bows, so I thought I'd give it a go. I decided I wanted to create a really girlie card for this challenge.....

The layout for this card is from this week's sketch challenge over at Papertake Weekly. Take a peek at their blog to see how the DT used this sketch to create some fab cards.

The backing paper on my card is a beautiful pearlised gold card with the pink pattern over the top, I think its really pretty and suited this card. I've used ribbon and pink twine on my pink paper teacup, along with some cute tiny buttons (why do things get cuter when they are smaller??). I've also used a white pen to add some detail on the teacup and the pink backing paper. I think I got a bit carried away! I added another tiny button and a cute bow to the bottom corner for extra girlie appeal. I'm really pleased with this card too - thats two in one evening...I'm on a role!

While looking at the Shabby Tea Room blog I came across Lilsweetpea's blog which is also so gorgeous! As well as fabulous makes you can watch fab tutorials. Lilsweetpea has over 400 followers and to celebrate she is giving away some gorgeous candy - take a peek here!

Right, thats me done for the evening I think - my bed is calling (yes I know its only 10pm, but I'm sleepy!!).

Thanks for stopping by today,
