Tea-riffic Experience!

Hello!

Me again - I'm back with my second post for today....this time for My Time to Craft.

UPDATE - before you read this post...I must apologise as it appears I have gone slightly mad and managed to mix up my challenges! The card mentioned below was in fact for the challenge at My Time to Craft last week! Whoops!

This Last week we have had a lovely challenge for you, we are were looking for vintage/shabby chic cards or projects. Now, as you can imagine this challenge is right up my street! I love a bit of vintage!

I opted to include one of my favourite vintage items on this card.....yes that's right...some teacups!

I've coloured my digi stamp teacups with my Promarkers, I have used plain pink backing paper topped with some pretty polka dot paper (which I have torn to give rough edges). I've added a doily and a collection of pretty buttons. Finally I have used a digi stamp sentiment.

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Digi Stamp Boutique - monthly customer competition
Papertake Weekly - Two by Two (I used two papers!)
Crafty Sentiments - anything goes

This card also reflects the tea-riffic day that I experienced last Saturday - when I enjoyed afternoon tea in a tree house! It was a lovely afternoon which was organised by the Secret Tea Society! This was the first time that I met the other members of the society and I have to say that they are a wonderful bunch of tea loving ladies! We enjoyed scones and cakes, and a really good natter!

The tree house

UPDATE - the theme for this week's challenge over at My Time to Craft is in fact "sorry I forgot your Birthday"....to see the card I made for this challenge, pop by here! I'm blaming all the sunshine on my holiday for this mix up!!

Thanks for popping by today,
its lovely to see you!

Sweet Birthday Wishes

Hello there Happy Sunday!

Look at this - I'm back with another post and its not Saturday again yet! I have started as I mean to go on with my week's annual leave and have already been crafting!

Its been a busy couple of days already....I went to a family BBQ yesterday with Joe and today I had a very lovely afternoon tea with my mum and sister (more about that later!). The BBQ was to celebrate some Birthdays....and so naturally I needed some Birthday cards! Here is my favourite one.....

I've used a kraft background for this shabby chic card, and some very pretty wrapping paper! I've also added a stamped cupcake which was coloured with my Promarkers, a very pretty doily and a personalised sentiment.

I'm really pleased with how this card turned out, very pretty and girlie!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - Kraft it!
Crazy 4 Challenges - join us on a picnic - I think cupcakes make perfect picnic food!
Simon Says Stamp - summer food and or drink - see above!

If you get the chance pop by these fab challenge blogs - there are some gorgeous DT cards to see!

So, earlier I mentioned our afternoon tea trip today.....we were at a lovely place called Warren House, where we sampled a rather scrummy afternoon tea on the terrace in the beautiful grounds. Now...we really showed our true British spirit today as although the photo shows a beautiful day we were plagued with rain...but did we go inside?? No...we stayed under our huge umbrella eating the yummy cakes and strawberries!!

To see more of this lovely tea pop over to our afternoon tea blog! If you pop by please leave us a comment so we know that you visited!

It's lovely to see you today, thank you for popping by!

Wonderful Day....

Hello there....Happy Friday! I hope you are keeping well!

Soooo....as you might know if you've popped by recently work has been so hectic and I've been feeling a bit poorly. So I decided to take today as an annual leave day.....and I have had such a fab day!

I've spent time (and money) in my favourite crafts shops, baked some really yummy cakes, made some cute chocolates, finally framed some pictures that I've had for ages, I watched a movie and made some cards! What an awesome and productive day so far!

Here are my latest cakes.....

These are adapted from a recipe that I found in this month's edition of Essentials magazine. They are a salted caramel cake with vanilla icing and a gorgeous caramel sauce. I am so pleased wiht how these how turned out!

These are my new pictures that are now framed, but need to be hung....

We found these when we were in Bournemouth in April!! I loved them as soon as I saw them and they'll look fab in my living room.

Soooo....on to my card for today....be warned....its a pink one.....

I've gone with a shabby chic feel for this card. I bought some recycled card blanks earlier today....I think they're going to make some fab Christmas cards! But I also thought they'd look quite good with some shabby chic on them!

The layout for this card comes from the fab sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday...I've used my mug image instead of the last square...hope thats ok ladies!

I've gone with soft pinks and white and that gorgeous beige paper...its soooo pretty! I've punched the corners of my plain pink paper to give them a softer look, then I've torn the pink and white paper for a distressed feel. I've also used some pretty lace, a die cut butterfly and my gorgeous stamped cup image. The image has been coloured with my Promarkers - ivory and cinnamon.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - shabby in pink
Simon Says Stamp - punches and/or dies
Sir Stampalot - punch away (my corners used a punch)
Top Tip Tuesday - things with wings (my little butterfly)

Pop by all these fab blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created for inspiration!

Finally I thought I'd leave you with this little photo....there was one cake that was a lot bigger than the rest.....and I couldn't resist...I just had to make a special cake just for me!! It really was yummy!

Thanks for popping by today...hope to see you again soon!

A little bit vintage

Hello there...hope you've had a fab week!

Mine has been another busy one with a big consultant event mid week which I organised for my work. We brought together medical consultants from across the country for the meeting in London...I've been working on it for ages and I'm pleased that it went well.

In fact I've been so busy with this meeting that I nearly didn't have a card for you today! I headed off to work on Wednesday and hadn't planned to go home until fairly late on Friday evening (I stay with either my mum or my sister, both of them live much closer to my office than I do!). When I got to mum's on Wednesday evening I suddenly realised that I needed to make my card for Sweet Stampin this week! Luckily I had my laptop with me and so I had some digi images to choose from. Then I discovered mum's little craft cupboard....and manage to find enough materials to make this card....

Isn't that ribbon fab?? Mum's cupboard is technically full of things for our Brownie meetings, so I am really pleased that I could find these bits and pieces!

Sooooo...you might be wondering what the actual challenge is this week at Sweet Stampin!! We have a theme close to my heart this week....we want to see your vintage cards! If you'd like some more inspiration, pop by the Sweet Stampin blog to see all the gorgeous Team Abi DT cards!

I think this is a bit more shabby chic than vintage, but the sentiment definitly fits the bill and I love this Pollycraft image (it reminds me of me!!). I have also used some brown parcel paper and some gorgeous backing paper that I found in a craft magazine. I've coloured the image with some colouring pencils that I found!

We are joined this week by

as our weekly sponsor....and we are joined this month by

as our monthly sponsor!

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Love to Create - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes

Pop by these blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created!

A bit of shabby chic

Hello campers, hope you had a fab weekend!

I'm amazed that its already Monday evening again...where does time go?? We took the Brownies to London on Saturday, we hunted for eggs in St James Park which was fun. Then on Sunday I watched Joe and his friends play with remote control cars all day....yes, as well as big noisy cars they all now have small remote control cars too!! At least we had a lovely BBQ and I got to relax in the sunshine!

This evening I've been having fun with a little bit of shabby chic crafting and a card with a little suprise.....soooo here's the card.....

Secret Crafter Saturday Challange have a shabby chic/vintage challenge for us this week, and so I've opted for soft muted colours...along with one of my favourite embellishments....a doillie!

"Whats the surprise?" I hear here you cry....well here you are....

Ohhhh....I've created a little secret pocket on my card that contains a cupcake recipe! Perfect for sending to a friend....to hint that you want some cake! This fits in with the "use a cooking recipe" theme over at Allsorts this week.

I'm pleased to report that I am really happy with how this card has turned out! I'd also like to enter it in the "sound of music" challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week! My music inspiration was "If I knew you were comin' I'd've baked a cake" by Eileen Barton.....remember that little ditty?? I bet that one line is stuck in your head now....I think I'll be going to bed singing it! Anyway, send this card to your friend and they'll have no excuse not to have a cake waiting for you when you pop by!

Pop by all the challenge blogs mentioned above to see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week.

Thanks for popping by today,
