Birthday dress

Hello there,

Happy Saturday! I hope you're well today.

Over at Sweet Stampin we have a fab new challenge for you - it's a paper piecing challenge!

It's my Birthday soon and I am going out to dinner to celebrate. I've picked the restaurant, a local place that serves amazing cocktails....but I still have one more important decision....what to wear! I love dressing up, wearing something special for an occasion....it makes the occasion even more special. I don't know about you, but I always feel more special when wearing something nice. And I hope I've captured that feeling in this card....

I have stamped this fab image onto a white card blank, and then I stamped it again on a piece of red paper. I cut the red dress out and attached it to my card. I then added a little colour to the image - giving my lady red lips (my favourite lipstick is a bright red Chanel lipstick called Pirate).

I love how the red dress pops from the card!

Merry Christmas!

Hello All,

I hope you are well and have had a great week.

I am pleased to say I am officially finished work for 2015 and I'm in full on Christmas mode now! The house is decorated, my pressies have been bought or made.....the house smells of freshly baked mince pies and I've made all my Christmas cards! I can now relax and enjoy the festive season.

In keeping with the Christmas spirit we have a "Merry Christmas" theme over at Sweet Stampin this week....and the design I used for a batch of my Christmas cards this year was just perfect....

This little cutie was from a set of stamps I bought in the January sales earlier this year.....and promptly forgot about! Whoops!

I rediscovered him a couple of weeks ago and decided to use him in this paper piecing project. The set includes frosty the snowman and several different accessories.

I have stamped my snowman onto white card and stamped the various hats and scarf onto pretty patterned papers. I then cut out snowmen and hats and scarves and created my little characters. I added a little colour to his face with my pens and some sparkly "coal" with my Stickles. Finally I added my sentiment by hand and also a little faux stitching to finish the card.

I ended up with several different snowmen....

Hmmm...I found another theme I'm not so keen on....

Hello there,

Happy Saturday! I hope you are keeping well.

This week we are a new challenge for you over at Sweet Stampin.....and I have to say it's one that definitely challenged me....we want to see your creations made for children. I thought this would be fairly easy....but it took me ages to pick a suitable image from my collection!

In the end I went for bright, colourful and simple....

I hope this fits the bill ok...I'm definitely not keen on creating cards for children!!

I have paper pieced my tiger image, using a black ink pad and plain coloured papers. I have then added some fab polka dots and plain papers in the background. My little tiger has been mounted on 3D sticky pads.

A little bit of paper piecing

Hello there,

I hope you are well and have had a good week.

As some of you know I have been here, there and everywhere with work recently. Just this week I have managed a trip to Cheltenham and Manchester, as well as time spent in our head office in Epsom. I've been really busy and exhausted a lot of the time, but I am pleased to report that I've had some brilliant news from work recently. I have been promoted! I am so proud of myself and I just wanted to share with everyone!

Anyway, enough of that...onto this week's challenge from Sweet Stampin. This week we would like to see your paper piecing skills....so grab your favourite stamp and papers and get crafting!

I've kept it nice and simple for this card, letting my images do the talking.....

I've taken two of my favourite stamps and a selection of pretty patterned papers. I have used my Promarkers to add a little details, as well as a little sparkle on the cherry with my Stickles.

I have finished the card with some faux stitching around the edge.

I'm really pleased with how this card has turned out and will probably make some more to send to family.

For more inspiration pop by the Sweet Stampin challenge blog and take a peek at what Team Abi have created. While you're there you can also read all about our fab sponsor this week:

There is also still a little time left to enter my fab afternoon tea competition over on my other blog. To find out more take a peek at Tea With Me and Friends!

Ho, ho, ho...whats that I hear??

Morning Crafters!

Happy Saturday! I hope you are all well and had a fab week! I went to see a musical production called That'll Be the Day last night with my sister. It was billed as a musical and comedy treat, featuring sounds from the 50s - 70s. It's been running for 27 years now and so I'm wondering if any of you have ever seen it??

Well, I have to say it was wonderful....amazing performers, great songs and the comedy had me crying! However, I wasn't prepared for how long it lasted....a full three hours and 15 minutes! I couldn't believe it! The tickets were only £21 so it was real value for money!

Anyway....today I'm also being a bit musical as Mum is meeting me in London to go and see Singin in the Rain. Its my Birthday pressie from mum and I can't wait!

So.....do you hear those bells? Maybe the faint rumble of a "ho, ho,ho"?? You must be able to hear it.....all us ladies at My Time to Craft can! Thats because this week's challenge is Christmas in May! So, dust off all those lovely Christmas stamps and embellishments and get crafting!

I decided to go quite contemporary with my design....opting for blues colours and cute stamped images. My tree has been paper pieced onto several pieces of plain coloured paper. My Rudolph has been stamped and coloured with my Promarkers. I've added some sparkle with my Stickles and a little doodling with a fine brown pen.

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Soooo....I promised a card....so here it is....I've made a lot of spooky cards this month and today I decided I needed to go a little girlie.....so what do you think....

I love these fab colours together, I think they look really pretty. I've used plain and patterned papers for my background, following this week's fab sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. The cupcake image and the small flower image I have paper pieced (I love this technique!) on more pretty papers. I think this stamp works really well with paper piecing.

Finally I have added some white faux stitching to the border and lots of glittery Stickles to my images!

Hee, hee! It's been great fun....here is my home flavoured drinks....
