Oh Look....it's 2016!

Hello there!

Happy Sunday! Yes, I know.....I'm a day late with my Sweet Stampin post! I had every intention of being a well behaved, super organised DT member and then I blinked and guess what....it's 2016 already and I'm late with my first card of the year!!

You may have also noticed something else....yes, I have a very colourful looking blog! I decided to start the year with a bit of colour...I have also been tidying up some of the older links of the blog to make it more up to date. It feels good to start the year with a fresh new look!

Talking of "new things" our challenge over at Sweet Stampin this week is new stash or new occasion...I went along the new occasion route...celebrating a new home.....

As well as my digi stamp image, which has been coloured with my Promakers, I have also added a felt and button flower which matches the backing paper and also a kraft paper frame which I cut out myself with a craft knife. By of these are new things that I have been experimenting with, as many of you know I love all kinds of crafts...including sewing....and I thought it would be nice to combine two of my crafty passions.

I've also included two of my other favourite things.....polka dots and white faux stitching. I spent a long time moving the layout of this card around (at one point I had three house images!) but I am really pleased with this final look.

New Beginnings!

Well, who would believe it.....its the last day of 2011! And what a topsy turvy year its been. There have been wonderful highs...such as joining the lovely Sweet Stampin ladies and finding my new flat....and devasting lows....such as losing Dad back in May....I still can't quite believe he's not with us anymore. However, a new year is about to begin and hopefully it'll bring with it lots of happy times!

I'm lucky to have a wonderful family and fab friends (ones I've met and those in blog land!).....not forgetting my amazing boyfriend Joe....each one has played a valuable part in my life in 2011 and I want to thank each one of you for your love and support.

So, what better way to start the new year than with a "New Beginnings" Challenge! We have the wonderful Angel Crafts sponsoring us this week at Sweet Stampin and we want to see your cards that feature a new beginning.....

2011 brought me a new home...and so I thought it was fitting to make a new home card for this challenge. I've used a cute froggie stamp as well as my large letter stamps (that I've had for ages but never used!!).
