A Blooming Great Tea Party!

Hello Folks....well I have to say a BIG thank you to everyone....you clearly all did a sunshine dance for me! Our Blooming Tea party for Marie Curie was a huge success yesterday...complete with yummy cakes, lots of tea, pretty dresses and lots of sunshine! So many people joined us on the day and lots of people supported us via other things....the lovely Lucy Hayward vintage hair stylist worked her magic on us, giving us all fab hair styles (Lucy also added to our donation pot). The lovely Kerry at Wrapped 4 You designed really yummy chocolates for us for our goodie bags....and donated some vouchers for the raffle! A brilliant florist in New Malden called Imagine gave us a beautiful plant for the raffle and Lake-Thomas Cakes made us fab 8 inch cake also for the raffle.

Everyone seemed to have a fab time and more importantly we raised nearly £160 for Marie Curie!

Yummy Cakes!

Now....I've actually got a card for you today too.....

This little cutie is a Pollycraft digi image and I have coloured him with my Promarkers. I've used plain and patterned organge papers...along with some paper lace and faux orange stitching. I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Hello Folks!

No card from me this morning....instead a quick message to let you know that I am running a Race for Life this afternoon in Guildford.

As many as you know I lost my Dad to cancer last year and since then I do my best to raise awareness of charities associated with cancer and raise money.

If you fancy sponsoring me today that would be brilliant - my Just Giving page is here.

Also keep your eyes peeled for my vintage tea party in aid of Marie Curie that is taking place in July. We're having lots of tea and cakes, a fab raffle and we've got a vintage hairstylist popping by to give people that vintage look! How exciting!

Thanks for popping by today,

Woo Hoo...I'm back!

Well hello there! Long time no see! What a busy couple of week's I've had! Well, I've moved into my lovely new flat now (well, I'm here and most of my stuff is here...mum still has some of my belongings, but I'm getting there!). I've bought lots of lovely furniture, including a fab 1950s bureau which is my new craft desk! The flat is really starting to feel like home now.

As well as moving, I've also hosted my Marie Curie Blooming Tea Party...we had approximately 30 people turn up and join us for tea and cakes. Despite a little rain we had a lovely afternoon and raised £274....which means that we've hit our £1000 target now! Woo hoo! My Just Giving page will remain open for some time though, so if you know anyone who might like to donate please send them the link. I want to say a HUGE thank you to all my friends and family who have supported me over the last couple of months, everyone has been amazing!
Lorna and me in our vintage aprons, that coffee pot is a fab vintage find!

All this activity means that my poor little blog has been a little neglected lately and I even missed my challenge this weekend on Sweet Stampin....sorry Abi...I hate letting people down! So I decided this evening that I needed to make some time for some crafting and here is what I've created.....

Sorry this photo is awful....as well as a printer that won't work, my camera is also playing up! To be honest I'm not that happy with this card either....I feel like I'm missing my mojo at the moment....maybe I just need time to settle into my new flat??

Anyway, enough of my moaning....this little card is for three different challenges:
Cupcake craft Challenges - Pick your favourite Cupcake challenge - I've picked number 140. Something Beginning With C (cupcakes!)

Pop by all these fab challenge blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards!

Thanks for popping by today and hopefully I'll be back again soon!

I can't think of a post title!!!!

Hello there...hope you had a fab weekend. Mine was busy and emotional, but good.

This week's challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is brilliant....I was spoilt for choice when making my card really! Their theme is "something from around the home"...basically you need an image showing something you'd find in a home...how cool!

I decided to opt for a bath in the end...I love this new stamp, its fun to use and I think it looks fab too!

I've used a fun polka dot backing paper, along with some lovely mauve paper to give a real girlie feel to the card. I've coloured the image using my Promarkers, and I added a little sparkle to the bubbles using my trusty stickles! I'm pleased to say that I really like this card...yes, shock horror you heard me right...I was just openly positive about one of my cards!!

Check out the SCSC challenge to see all the wonderful DT cards this week.

My sister Lorna and I are hosting a Great Blooming Tea Party in Lorna's garden in July. As you know we're partial to hosting the odd afternoon tea and so this appeal is right up our street....in fact I think we've probably got a little carried away with the guest list....if everyone turns up for tea and homemade cake we'll raise a lot of money...but I think we'll also run out of chairs! We've set the date (Saturday 9th July) and the invites have been sent, now we're planning the decor and food (we want it to have a vintage feel). I'm really looking forward to it - please keep your fingers crossed for good weather on that day!!

Thanks for stopping by today,
