Just Sepia

Happy Saturday! I hope you are well this morning!

So, its another Saturday...that means we have a shiny new challenge for you over at My Time to Craft! This week we have a colour challenge for you - we'd love to see your sepia creations....so get your soft browns at the ready!

The DT have created some fab cards as inspiration for you this week...pop by the My Time to Craft blog to see what they've made.

Here is my card.....

I've gone with a slightly vintage feel for this card as I think it suits the sepia colour tones well. I have stamped my image on card which I had already coloured with my Tim Holtz Distress Ink - I don't use this ink very often, but really enjoyed creating the ink effect on the card. I added a little more colour to the teacup with my Promarkers.

I have stamped my happy birthdat sentiment on a brown tag, and added soem faux white stiching around the edge. I have created the layout for this card using various soft brown patterned papers.

I'd like to enter this card over at the following challenges:
Allsorts - auntumn colours
DYSU - something vintage (my teacup!)

Floating away....

Morning folks!

Hope you're ok today. I'm feeling a little better today, thank you for your kind comments yesterday. It has been one dull and boring week!

Anyway, enough with that....I've had a little play this morning and created this little cutie...

I've used soft blues and pinks to create this Birthday card, The LOVT image is coloured with my Promarkers and I've added some background detail with my pencils.....if you look really closely hopefully you'll see some clouds in my blue sky! I've added a computer generated sentiment and some punched flowers, with a little sparkle in their middles! I've tried to go with a bit of a shabby chic feel, tearing my pink paper.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Pink Elephant - cute sketch
Alphabet Challenge - K is for kitchen....food or drink
Allsorts - In Bloom - feature flowers
DYSU - blue skies and clouds (peer closely at the background!)
Lili's Little Fairies - A Little Bit Distressed - I think my bunny might be a bit distressed about having his foot cut off! Alternatively I've distressed the pink paper by tearing it!!

Pop by all the gorgeous cards mentioned to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been made this week.

Happy Valentines Day

Hello there...hope you've had a sweet day!

I've got a lovely glass of red and I'm waiting for Joe to arrive for our romantic dinner....so with some spare time what did I decide to do....what any crafter does....I made a card!

This card has been distressed around the edges (I'm not a fan of distressing - it actually pains me to do this to my lovely backing papers!!) to give a shabby chic feel that I think matches the pretty teacup image perfectly. I've also added a shiny button and some twine, along with lots of faux stitches! My tea has been coloured using my Promarkers.

I'd like enter this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenges - entwined (use twine)
Papertake Weekly - colour combo - black and white and red all over!

Pop by all the blogs mentioned above to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created.

Well, I'd better turn my attention back to dinner now!

Anniversary Monkeys!

Morning! I'm munching a delicious cinnamon hot cross bun this morning, its so yummy! Here is a wedding anniversary card that I finished off last night for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week....

Their challenge is "its a couple thing"...I thought this cheeky pair were just perfect! Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but it would definitly make Joe smile if I gave him this card on our anniversary! I've also distressed the edges of my spotty paper and therefore I'd like to enter this in the distressing challenge over at Paper Sundaes.

I wanted to try and make it a unisex card...so either a man or a woman could give it...I've done this using pink and blue backing papers. However, I think maybe its just a bit too girlie??

Right, as usual I've got to get my skates on! Hope you have a good day!

Distressed but simple!

Evening All,

Hope you're all well and having a lovely weekend. My Sunday has been wonderful...my sister and her hubbie came over to see me and we went to a local antique warehouse. It's a beautiful place called the Packhouse, and its full of gorgeous antiques and lushious interiors. I bought a fab vintage box handbag and my sister bought gorgeous vinatge champagne glasses. Poor Jim followed us around as we cooed at everything...he said he enjoyed himself, but I'm not too sure!

Anyway, today's card is for two different challenges....over at Secret Crafter we have Clean & Simple - they want to see simple, quick to make cards. Then the September challenge over at Sir Stampalot is "all distressed".

I've used one of my favourite sentiments, along with one of my favourite colours! This card is quick and easy to make - all you need is your sentiment and a selection of papers....the purple rectangles are cut using a guillotine and the cute spotty paper is torn by hand. I hand cut the shoes out of matching purple paper and then stuck it all together - easy peasy!

Check out the two blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

Right, I'm off to make some more cards, I need to add to my MISI shop...I'm feeling quite girlie, so I think there will be cupcakes and shoes! Watch this space!

Another day!

Morning all....no moaning this morning I promise! After I logged off last nighe I decided to go and make a new card to soothe my nerves...that and a good night's sleep seem to have done the trick! Here is the result....

This cute little card was created to fit in with two challenges this week.....

First off we have the distressed challenge over at the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, it can be any kind of distressing technique...I went for my favourite paper tearing! The DT have created some wonderful designs to inspire everyone, take a peek.here.

The second challenge comes from Cupcake Craft Challenge where they are looking for projects that are not square....fab challenge!! Take a look at the fab designs the DT have come up with. I was going to be clever and use a flower shaped card, but I couldn't decide how to decorate it last night and went for something simplier - a series of rectangles.....I just hope I get away with the little checks on the patterned paper!!!

This card was made with a collection of plain and patterned papers, along with a stamped image that I coloured using my water colour pencils. I also added a stamped sentiment, a piece of funky green ribbon and some sticky gems for a little sparkle.

Today I have a full day of training at work...its an impact and influencing course...sounds very interesting! I hope you have a good day, whatever you're up to!

Thanks for stopping by today.

A little distressed!

Hello and thanks for stopping by!

I have to admit that I am feeling a little sorry for myself at the moment, I am exhausted from the whole knee situation and to be honest more than a bit fed up of it all. I know I shouldn't moan, its not life threatening and it could be a whole lot worse......but I'm still just not feeling it at the moment...no stiff upper lip for me! Ha, ha! How very un-British of me! As you can tell one thing that's keeping me going is entering all the fab card challenges that get posted every week - I can't recommend doing them enough as they really push you out of your comfort zone and stretch your imagination!

This week over at the allsorts challenge blog they want us to get all distressed with buttons and a bow! They quite rightly point out that us crafters have a tendency of being fairly neat....we like to cut things in striaght lines with a guillotine! By the way have you seen those laser guided scissors that have been advertised on telly recently?! Apparently you get a straight line if you follow the laser line.....the demo I saw didn't do a fab job though and I'm not convinced....I'd love to hear from you if you have some!

Anyway, shopping aside I decided to rise to the challenge and add a little bit of distressing to my latest card. The DT have been very inspirational, giving me the courage to tear my paper for a change, giving it a raw edge, which I actually think looks quite nice. Take a peek at their designs here. I decided I wanted a bright and cheerful card and so stepped away from the pinks once again, I also wanted to use some new embellishments that I've recently bought - the little person and the car! Super cute!

So, I used a square white card as the base and topped it with a piece of green straight edged paper and a piece of patterend paper with the raw edges, to add a little contrast. I've used some funky ribbon and a brilliant big, green button which is hand stitched onto the card. This was a simple card to put together and I hope it will make someone smile!

I'm going to try and not be so grumpy at work...in fact in life generally......I wish the sun would shine a little more....maybe that would cheer me up a bit!

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!
