A movie, some champagne and a wiggly worm!

Hello there! Happy Saturday!

I hope you are keeping well and had a lovely week. Mine has been so busy with work that I haven't even had the opportunity to pop back and tell you about my girly Saturday last weekend!

I went to the fab Valentino exhibition at Somerset House with my sister Lorna, and our two best friends Becca and Sheree. The dresses were all so beautiful and we had a fab time guessing which era they were all from. Then we went onto our vintage themed afternoon tea at an establishment that will remain nameless for reasons you are about to hear!

Soooo....they gave us a glass of bubbles to start, which was probably their saving grace! Next came the sandwiches and the cake stand full of tiny traditional cakes. It all looked wonderful, and we tucked into our sandwiches. Then I noticed something move on one of my sandwiches...I wasn't 100% sure at first, but I thought I saw something tiny wiggle! After much deliberation I poked what I thought had wiggled with my knife and discovered that yes indeed I had a teeny, tiny wiggly thing on my sandwich!!!! This could only happen to me!

Luckily for the restuarant I had already consumed quite a bit of my champagne and therefore decided to see the funny side of the situation. No one else had a wiggly thing in their food and I didn't want to ruin the afternoon, so I pointed the wiggly thing out to a passing chef who was mortified and then accepted the apologies that followed! We got a substantial discount on our meal, I got fresh sandwiches (with a promise of no more wiggly things) and we got free cocktails!! My goodness we all giggled a lot!!

Anyway, I hope that little story made you giggle...

Today we have a fab challenge for you over at My Time to Craft....we want you to make a card inspired by a film or a song. I love challenges like this as there is so much to inspire you....you can also find out a lot about crafters by their choice of film or song!!

Maybe a little predictably I opted for a food related film....Julie & Julia. As well as the obvious food connection, I also love that blogging is a key theme in the film! I also love Meryl Streep's accent!

I've coloured my super cute image with my Promarkers, adding some faux stitching as a border. My sentiment was also inspired by the film and was made on my computer.

Pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see what movie or song inspired the lovely DT ladies to make a card this week! Then get crafting....but don't forget to tell us which movie or song inspired you!

What a week!

Well, I have to say I've had a fun packed and very eventful week! You may have noticed that I haven't posted since last Tuesday which is a bit odd for me....well I was really lucky and mum whisked me away to Bath for a couple of days! I've had soooo many Birthday celebrations this year and Bath really was the icing on top of the cake - what a wonderful place....I actually wish I lived there (although I think I'd be very poor all the time!!).

Soooo...this morning I've finally had my oven door fixed (so I can start baking again!!) and I've been catching up with my card challenges.

After the no pink challenge at Sweet Stampin this week I decided that pink was the way to go this morning....with one of my favourite stamps....

This card features loads of my favourite things....pink, cooking, buttons, lace, stitching and of course a bit of bling! I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Inspired by a film - I've been inspired by all the cooking in "Julie & Julia"....if you haven't seen this fab film, you really should!

Simon Says Stamp - this cute layout is inspired by the sketch created by Dawny this week

CES Challenge - buttons - the more the merrier!

Passion for Promarkers - pink, pearls and lace.....to my dismay I only had one actual pearl (see bottom right hand corner), but I also fab these gorgeous pearly buttons! I've gone for paper lace punched using my Martha Stewart border punch and of course I love pink!! And of course my image is coloured with my Promarkers!

I've got one last Birthday surprise this afternoon (yes another one!!), my fab friend Alex is taking me somewhere....I have no idea where, but I have to wear a pretty dress!! I better go and get ready...I'll be back tomorrow to tell you all about it!

Thanks for popping by today,

I've gone a little bit WI!!

Evening All!!

What on earth has happened to December?? How is it Christmas Eve Eve already?? I think I'm ready now....pressies are made and wrapped, crackers are made, cake is ready and looking cute (even if I do say so myself!!), I've done the food shopping....just got some baking to do tomorrow! One thing I've learnt this month is that I put too much pressure on myself sometimes.....I wanted to make everyone amazing homemade presents this year, but time got away from me and I got really stressed. After talking to Joe and Becca I realised that everyone is going to love what I've made and so what if there are a couple of shop bought pressies too!! I also learnt not to make vinegar based chutneys in a poorly ventilated room......my flat still stinks!!!

I really haven't popped by all my favourite blogs this week...poor show I know!! But when I finally popped by Cupcake Craft Challenge this evening I realised that I'd been awared their Cupcake Cutie badge for my sparkly shoe card last week! I'm soooo proud, thank you lovely Cupcake ladies!!

I've also had some time this evening to make a card and Cupcake Craft Challenge has a fab sketch this week that I wanted to try out. This is a card for Joe's mum....she's getting a jar of my homemade tomato chutney among other homemade goodies, so I thought I'd make her a funny (not so tradtional Christmas card) to go with it!

I'm going to write in the card that if she doesn't like the chutney she can't blame me...it was probably the wine I was drinking at the time! Hee, hee!! I wish I'd looked that calm and serene when I was making the chutney!!

Anyway, don't forget to pop by the Cupcake blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created. If you fancy a bit of a sparkly challenge you should pop over to Sweet Stampin where we have a "sparkle and bling" challenge!

If I don't see you again before I'd like to wish you a very Merry Christmas....whatever you're up to this year I hope you have a wonderful time!
