A Little Late Night Crafting!

Well hello there...not sure what has come over me, but I decided at about 9:30pm this evening that I fancied making a card! Nothing elaborate, but something simple and cute to stretch my crafty fingers!

Joe has popped out (I know - who on earth pops out at this time of night??), the cats have taken themselves off to bed and I am sat in my craft room - bliss!

I decided to use some of my new stash, including a new black pen and some lovely stripey paper from a new collection. I teamed these with an oldie but a goodie stamp for this CAS card....

See I told you it was a simple card!

I stamped my image onto my striped paper before carefully cutting it out and mounting it onto my card using 3D sticky pads. I stamped my sentiment and then added the faux stitching with the pen.

I do love CAS cards - perfect for when you get that urge to create something, but know you should be doing something else (in my case right now sleeping!).

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts - new & cute (the paper and pen)
Top Tip Tuesday - Keep it Simple

Keeping it simple!

Good Morning Peeps!

I'm back again with my second DT post of the day! This time with a new challenge from My Time to Craft....by the way have you seen that we currently have a DT call on the blog? If you'd like to join a fun loving bunch of crafters pop by the blog to find out more!

On with the challenge....this week we'd like you to keep it simple. In fact we'd like to see your Clean and Simple (CAS) cards which feature only one layer or less!

It was Joe's Dad's Birthday last week, he is a complete car nut and so I decided to get crafting with one of my car stamps....

I have stamped that fab image straight onto my card blank. I opted for Kraft Card as I felt that went well with my vintage mini. I love this stamp, the detail is just brilliant. I decided to keep it simple, adding only my stamped sentiment and a little faux stitching just to frame the card.

I'm pleased to report that Joe's Dad was very pleased with the card!

Have a Tea-riffic Day!

Hello there!

Happy Hump Day! I hope you are having a fab week so far!

This week I have had the pleasure of harvesting some of the fruit and veg from my garden. Its the first year I've been able to grow my own things and I've really enjoyed the experience. I have onions, potatoes, tomatoes, plums and apples at the moment. I also have pears still on the tree and I have pumpkins growing for Halloween! Its been a very productive summer!

On Monday night I made myself some scrummy apple cake...which was made even sweeter because the apples came from my own tree! What a satisfying bake!

In celebration of harvest time and the autumn season I have created this clean and simple card......

I've used a kraft card blank, which has been topped by my cup digi images, a little doodling and my fab sentiment. I've gone with autumnal colours for the tea cups, which have been coloured with my Promarkers.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Di's Digi Designs - fabulous fall colours
Cute Card Thursday - Hip to be Square
Love to Create - clean and simple

If you get the chance pop by these fab challenge blogs, there are some gorgeous DT cards to be seen!

I'm off to have a cup of tea now!

Keeping it Simple

Hello there...Happy Hump Day!

It's Wednesday evening already - woo hoo! This weekend is round four of the British Drifting Championships and I will be watching Joe compete at the Lydden Hill track in Kent. Fingers crossed that he qualifies this round.

Soooo....I have a simple little card for you this evening....stamped with a newly acquired stamp!

I really love this stamp - the paper is blank when you stamp the initial image, you can then stamp the message of your choice onto the paper....or leave it blank!

I've kept this card simple, letting the cute stamp speak for itself. I have coloured the keys of the typewriter with my Promarkers, tying it in with the blue backing paper and doodling.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly - anything goes
Passion for Promarkers - clean and simple

If you get the chance pop by these fab blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week.

If you get the chance you could also pop by my afternoon tea blog....we have sampled some really unusual teas recently - including a burlesque afternoon tea! Read all about it at Tea with Me and Friends!

Keep it Simple!

Good Morning! Welcome to Saturday morning!

I hope you are well and had a lovely week.

This week at Sweet Stampin we're asking you to keep things simple....we'd like to see your clean and simple cards. So no fuss or over embellishing please!

I decided to use a fab new digi image that I treated myself too from Digi Stamp Boutique...its part of a very cute set....

I'm really pleased with this card....I love the sentiment!

I printed my image and coloured it with my Promarkers. To add a little colour I cut a backing circle in pale pink, which I attached to the back of my image before adding some white faux stitching (well if you've got a sewing machine you need some stitches!).

Pop by the Sweet Stampin blog to see what beautiful CAS cards Team Abi came up with. While you're their you can find out about our fab monthly sponsor....

Keeping it Clean and Simple

Hello there! Happy Saturday!

I hope you're keeping well and have had a good week...I do love four day weeks!

Soooo.....do you remember last weekend I had an easter themed tea with my sister and my friends? Well, here is the feast that we tucked into....

I made cute little bunny and chick iced biscuits, some vanilla cupcakes with rabbit ears and some mini chocolate eggs for everyone. Lorna made her fab scones....and what she called her healthy chocolate nests. Instead of cornflakes covered in chocolate to make her nests she used wholegrain shredded wheat!! To be honest I wouldn't have known if she hadn't told us!!

We all had a fab time.....making paper chicks and enjoying the easter egg hunt that mum lay for us. She had us chasing around the neighbourhood, it was great fun!

I hope you all had lovely Easter weekends too.

This week's challenge over at My Time to Craft is one of those that most crafters either love or they hate....that's right...its a clean and simple challenge!

I've kept it extremly simple with a cute Simon Says stamped image which is colored with my Promarkers, some doodling and a hand written sentiment. I love the image, it makes me smile every time I look at it!

What a brilliant weekend!

Hello campers! I hope you are well and have had a lovely weekend!

My weekend has been every bit as good as I hoped it would be (I was a tad bit worried that I would be let down in all my excitment!!).

On Saturday, Lorna, Becca and myself got dressed up and went to the Berkley for a Pret a Portea. This is what we ate....

It looked amazing and tasted just as good! We treated ourselves to a glass of bubbles and enjoyed delicious sandwhiches and tasting spoons before starting on the sweet goodies! The service was amazing, everyone was so friendly and the food kept on coming! We had a wonderful afternoon!

Then today the three of us visited the Festival of Vintage at Epsom Downs race course....as some of you will know, I have a bit of a soft spot for anything vintage! We wandered around the fab stalls selling everything from clothes and hats to homewares and recordplayers. I bought myself a lovely full length winter coat and a cute knitted jumper, Lorna bought a brilliant evening dress for her Birthday in December and Becca added to her brooch collection....and bought her first item of vinatge clothing!

There was also fashions shows, live music and dancing....it was brilliant!

Here I am posing in my new living room! Hee, hee!

Soooo....after all this excitment I decided to make a simple card!

Told you it was simple!

I love this stamp, but its rather large and I rarely use it. However, I thought it would probably work for a clean and simple card where I wanted the image to be the main focus! I've stamped both the image and the sentiment and coloured the image with my Promarkers.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - Clean and Simple
Allsorts - inspired by a song - "These Boots are Made for Walking"
Crazy 4 Challenges - thank you card or thanks giving card

Oh my goodness!!

Hello there, hope you're keeping well!

Sorry I haven't been around much this week! Thank you for all your lovely comments.

I have been plagued by IT problems recently...both at work and at home! Today I went to work to find that all my word and excel documents had vanished!!! I've been in my job for 7 years now and so you can imagine my panic at the thought of all that work gone!! That got fixed and then I came home to my continuing lack of internet problems! After 20 mins on the phone to Virgin Media, 15 mins on the phone to Dell and a lovely 30 min chat to an engineer in India and my internet is finally working again! Apparently it was a McFee problem....a bad update or something!! What a wonderful IT day!

Anyway, enough of my moaning...I have managed to fit in a teeny bit of crafting today....

I told you it was a teeny bit of crafting! This simple card is made of black baking paper, some pretty black and white patterned paper and a gorgeous stamped image. I've also added a little faux stitching to the image.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge - black and white
Papertake Weekly - Pins & Needles

Pop by all the blogs mentioned to see the gorgeous DT cards.

I have to say a HUGE thank you to the lovely Elaine for the fab package she sent me recently....I promise everything will get used!

Right....I'm off to do a little blog suffering...I've really missed my internet over the last couple of days!!

Having a Clean and Simple Moment!

Hello there...Happy Wednesday!

Sooo....I have a quick card for you this morning that was quick to make, but looks pretty fab (even if I do say so myself!!).

I've loved making cards like this ever since the lovely Faye told me how to create them!! They always seem to turn out fab!

I've stamped and coloured my image in the bottom corner and opposite it I've stamped my sentiment. I've then done a little doodling to finish off the card!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - clean and simple
Crafty Sentiments - clean and simple

Clean and Simple

Hello there, hope you're well!

I love popping by everyone's blogs to see what they've been making and recently the wonderful Faye made a gorgeous card that really inspired me. I've never been that great at clean and simple cards.....I find it hard to stop adding to cards!! But Faye has an absolutely gorgeous framed clean and simple card on her blog that I fancied trying for myself. I checked with Faye to see how she created the frame and after playing around for a bit I created the following:

Isn't it cool?? I've stamped my cakes in the bottom right hand corner of the card and added my sentiment to the top left hand corner. I then added a doodled frame and coloured the cupcakes with my pencils. Finally I added a little sparkle with my red stickles.

I'm so pleased with how this turned out - thanks Faye for your advice!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - clean and simple
Cute Card Thursday - a touch of sparkle

Encouraged by my first creation I decided to try another one....

This one I have changed the frame slightly, using a distinct double line. I've also added more colour to the card, creating a background for my hot air balloons. I'm not entirely sure I like this one as much as the first - I think the block of colour in one corner looks a bit silly!!

I'd like to enter this card in the DYSU landscape challenge this week.

Pop by all the blogs mentioned to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

I hope you have a lovely weekend ahead of you. I am spending tomorrow in a field with 550 Brownies celebrating the Olympics! As you can imagine I am praying that it doesn't decide to rain!! Please can you keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Clean and Simple

Hello there,

hope you're having a good weekend...mines been very relaxing. Joe has been away all weekend at a Drifting event so I've been doing lots of girlie things! Spent Friday night eating popcorn and watching girlie movies, yesterday I visited my sister and we went for afternoon tea in The French Tarte in Surbiton and today I went shopping! Bliss!

I've also made time for my two favourite passions.....crafting and baking! First off I'll share my card with you...and this time I've kept it clean and simple to join in with the challenge over at Allsorts this week:

I love this image, but I usually use it with lots of pink backing papers and glitter...this time I decided to keep it simple and let the image shine. I've stamped the sentiment directly onto the card and added the image using 3D sticky pads to really make her pop! I think it works quite well. I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Anything Goes - Anything Goes challenge
The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes

Pop by all these blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards. We've also got a fab anything goes challenge over at Sweet Stampin this week, pop by and see Team Fi's gorgeous creations!

So, I mentioned that I've also been baking....I decided to keep that simple today too and opted to make some yummy vanilla cupcakes. I then went a little bit mad on the decorations, with homemade button embellishments, hundreds and thousands and a little silver glitter!!
Thanks for popping by today, hope to see you again soon.
