I have a new toy.....

.....its not for card making, but since I get a lot of lovely positive comments about my baking I thought you might like to see it anyway! I have got my sticky mitts on a Lakeland 12 cup mini sandwich tin....which means I should be able to make perfect mini victoria sponges, mini cheesecakes and other cute delights! I say should because my first attempt has been a little dodgy.....

Here I have a mini victoria sponge cake and come cute little coffee cakes!

The wonky tops are due to me rushing (to use the tin!) and not letting my butter come to room tempreture before baking - silly me! However, the tin itself is fab...its got these little removable bottoms to help get the cakes out of the pan and its lovely and heavy (not sure why that makes it good, but it does!!). I'd highly recommend getting on if you are into your baking!

Anyway, enough about my baking....I have also made a card for you today!!

This little cutie is a Bugaboo image which I have had for ages, but I love...he also makes me smile! I've coloured him with my Promarkers and added a little sparkle with my Stickles. As this is a masculine card I have gone with blue plain and patterned papers. I've added a Birthday sentiment created on my computer.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - for a man/youth
Papertake Weekly - Happy 5th Birthday Papertake! - anything goes challenge with an optional celebration theme
Oldie but a Goodie - inspired by a song - my image is over 6 months old and I was inspired by David Bowie's Space Oddity
Crafty Sentiments - Happy Birthday

Happy New Year!

Hello there, hope you're well today and looking forward to the new year! I'd like to thank all my followers and visiters for stopping by my blog in 2010, your support and kind comments are brilliant and really appreciated by me.

As its New Year's Eve I thought a celebration card would be perfect for my last card of 2010 and I've found three new challenge blogs (all with celebration as a theme this week) that I'm going to be following next year!

The inspiration for the shape of this card is from the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog where the DT member Domi has provided a brilliant champagne bottle template. I used an oblong card blank that I shaped myself before adding the green patterened backing paper and the gold top. I love this cute little mouse image and thought it was perfect on a party card! I've coloured him using pencils and added a little glimmer with my new cosmic shimmer kit. I'd also like to enter this in the Sweet Stampin Challenge and the Stamp Fairy Challenge.
Pop by all these blogs to see the super DT creations!

I hope you all have a wonderful evening whatever you're up to!
Happy New Year and best wishes for 2011!

Celebrate with Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge!

Evening all - hope you all had a fab weekend. I've been visiting my aunty down in Bognor Regis with my sister...and yes, we didn't break the tradition...we went paddling in the sea! It was a tad bit cold to say the least, but we couldn't visit the seaside and not dip our toes in the sea!!

Anyway, its time to celebrate and say a big happy blogoversary to the lovely ladies at the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge: http://thesecretcraftersaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com/2009/10/challenge-52.html To celebrate they want to see projects involving a celebration...so I put my thinking cap on and came up with this....

I wanted a slightly different celebration rather than the usual Birthdays or anniversaries, and when I was thinking about the things I have celebrated in the past I remembered passing my driving test. I was a rather nervous driver to start with and although my driving was good my nerves always seemed to get the better of me....I finally passed on my third test (fourth if you include the test that the car failed because of a dodgy indicator but I don't like to count that one!!) and I was sooooo pleased. I actaully wanted to kiss the tester, but decided it was better not to!

Anyway, this card is to celebrate passing your driving test - whether you managed it first time or twenty-first time!!

Hope you enjoy!
