Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 63! Nip and a punch!

Evening everyone! I haven't blogged in ages...where's my commitment gone?? The truth be told I am ever so slightly busy at the moment, what with my boss being shipped off to another part of the company, being a bridesmaid for one of my close friends, my Brownie commitments and of course my crafting.....I seem to have let my techno side slip a little!

Anyway, onwards and upwards...I have seen this weeks challenge on Cute Card Thursday and thought I'd give it a go. This week its all about punches and die cuts. I was bought a lovely die cutting machine for my Birthday one year, I believed I would use it endlessly and it would be a fab investment. However, I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I hardly ever use it! I've got this lovely machine and all its doing is collecting dust!! My problem is there is just too much choice when it comes to card making and I'm so easily distracted! Whoops! Anyway, I've started using my lovely machine again and I am enjoying the die cuts it gives me.
One of my favourite cards that I've made with the machine recently is this lovely black and white wedding card. I wanted something simple with butterflies and think the end result is just gorgeous (even if I do say so myself!). I've used black backing paper, followed by a black and white heart design paper, topped with my mum's gorgeous Conquerer Paper (sorry mum - I've stolen more!) and then I added the two die cut butterflies from my machine and a little glitter.....there always has to be a little glitter! I like using the textured paper on top as it gives the card a slightly more elegant finish.
Right just a quick show and tell this evening - I'm full of ideas and have an evening of card making planned! Hope you like my butterflies!

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 60 Letters & Numbers

Ok, I've been inspired by all the lovely comments people have left me and have decided to add some more cards straight away! There's no stopping me now!

Friends ask me to create bespoke cards for Birthdays and Wedding Anniversaries, and these often involve numbers. This fits in nicely with the first ever blog challenge that I've decided to do. I found out about cutecardthursday.blogspot.com while surfing through some fab blogs, and this weeks challenge is Challenge 60 - Letters and Numbers - a perfect chance to show off my creations!

This card was created for a friend's parent's wedding anniversary! He loves cooking, she loves gardening, they are both musician's and in the background of the card is one of their favourite pieces of music. I really enjoyed creating this card as it is really one of a kind!

I also like doing number Birthday cards, I like this pretty pink card for a 40th Birthday.
As always, hope you like the cards - let me know your thoughts!

Been Drifting!

Drifting - sliding a car around a track sideways. This is Joe's passion - he lives and dies for drifting and I've been a passenger in his car several times now. It's fast, its noisy and I get covered in rubber....but I love it!

So, Joe and I have been together for nearly two years and he's finally agreed to let me know a go in his drift car (this is big - his car is his baby, he probably loves it more than me!!). I was supposed to go last month for my Birthday, but I had problems with a trapped nerve in my neck so gave that one a miss.

This morning we got up nice and early, headed up to Santa Pod all excited.....Joe went out on the big track a couple of times and then he said the words I'd been waiting for....."So, do you want a go now?". Then the engine started making a banging noise...his bottom end had "gone" so no drifting for me today!

Then a friend called Matt said I could have a go in his car......excellent, I started getting excited again....Matt went out for another skid and then got told his car was too noisy!! He could only carry on if he made it quieter!! For goodness sake - its a drift car, they are supposed to be noisy!!

If you ask me there is some kind of conspiracy going on here!! Oh well, back to crafting!

Beep! Beep!

So, I finally managed to get some crafty content on here! I've decided to dedicate this post to my love of card making, a passion which I've had for the last four or five years.
I first discovered just how much I enjoyed creating cards after a really bad car boot sale! I was selling things from my flat as I needed to downsize, and I hadn't done very well. Not sure why the people of Wimbledon didn't fancy my old fashion mistakes or my old Tom & Jerry videos - but I didn't really sell much. In fact I only made £30 out of the whole morning and I had to take my friend out to lunch to say thank you for standing with me in the freezing cold! Still, I had £30 and so I decided to spend it on something completley different. After looking around the shops I decided that card making was the way to go and invested in some of the basics.

And once I started I couldn't stop!

I've never been particularly arty and I can't draw very well, but I do enjoy putting things together. I have to admit a lot of my cards are very girlie...the sparkly the better I say! I am inspired by things I see and things I hear. I just love having the ability to make people personalised cards, something special that they can't find in the shops! If someone gives me an idea I'll try and make it - anything really......it doesn't always work, but I have fun trying!

So here are a couple of my creations, I'd love to hear your thoughts.......

Well I did it...I survived my 30Th Birthday and all the celebrations....I had a fab time, and more importantly I didn't experience any longings for getting a blue rinse perm!! Ha, ha! My friends and family and my fab boyfriend all spoilt me rotten...I've felt like a princess for the last couple of days...shame it can't last longer!

Presents included a new camera, the tickets to Mama Mia, my gorgeous little MX5 has been given a makeover (improved paint work and new wheels) and my sis and her hubby bought me a For Your Eyes Only photo shoot!! For anyone who hasn't heard of FYEO I will enlighten you...its a female only photography studio who specialise in boudoir piccies....yes my little sis has paid for me to have photos taken in the buff!! Ha, ha! In fact you don't have to be totally in the buff, you can take along your favorite undies, sexy stockings, that kind of thing.......I'm not sure they'll be impressed with my Bridget Jones pants though! Seriously - I can't wait! The message that went with the voucher said "So when you're 60 you can look back on the photos and see that life wasn't so bad!"

I also got a lot of craft things - gorgeous beads and papers, new craft books and things to organise my creative obsessions!! So, that means I will be getting into the swing of things and getting lots of cards and jewellery made in the next week or so. That coupled with my new camera mean that hopefully I will be able to show off some of my creations very soon!

Anyway, its late now and I need my beauty sleep....so I'm off to bed!
Night, Night!
