As you know I've been getting a head start on my Christmas cards this year by doing the weekly challenge over at Bah! Humbug! Well, this week I've discovered another lovely Christmas Card blog, so I thought I'd make a card that fits in with both challenges!
Bah! Humbug! have an easy theme this week....anything goes! Yes, we're allowed to let our creative juices flow and our imaginations run wild! The DT have produced some lovely cards to inspire us all. Take a peek here! The second Christmas blog I've found is Winter Wonderland, which also has weekly challenges...their theme is this week traditional Christmas flowers. Again, their DT have come up with some wonderful creations, take a peek here.
So, my traditional flower of choice is the gorgeous poinsettia - I love the deep red colour of the petals. They are so difficult to keep alive though....or is that just me?? Ha, ha! I've used some papers from my stash for the backing, then I created the flowers using a stencil that I have. I've used 3D sticky pads to give the petals a lift and golden sticky dots for a little sparkle!
I hope you like my little bit of Christmas cheer this morning! Its funny to think that we'll probably all be busy thinking about Christmas in just 6 months time! Where has this year gone??
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Wedgie thanks for finding us and joining in with us at Winter Wonderland, love how you have used your poinsettias and that background paper is lovely. Noted your Designer in the Spotlight interest and hope you will join us again for our next challenge

Yes I find real ones quite hard to keep alive too but they are beautiful and the perfect focus point for a Christmas card. Love the way you've used wording as a backing to the flower. Looks great

Beautiful christmas card Wedgie! I love that the poinsettias take focal point on the card and the dp is so pretty behind it! It's great you found us at Winter Wonderland and hope you'll join in with more challenges!!

Very pretty poinsettias you have made for your card and like how you have used the text paper as a background which means you don't need a greeting to spoil your layout. Maybe you should make some more flowers, stick them to paper stems and pop them in a pot for Chrimbo' - they will last much longer than real ones and would be a pretty decoration. Fill the container with pot pourri and it'll hold your stems in place and smell nice too!
