Hot Birthday Wishes!

Hello there...me again! I've finally had some time to get some crafting done...and there is no stopping me now!

I'm back this morning with a bespoke card that my friend asked me to make....my brief was simply that the Birthday girl had a thing for firemen!!

I think I met the brief quite well with this fab Kenny K image!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers, and created the personalised sentiment on my computer. I've gone with a girlie colour combo as its a girlie birthday card!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - Birthday (Happy 4th Birthday Allsorts!)
Wags 'n Whiskers - anything goes
Glitter n Sparkle - Birthday
Fab 'n' Funky - Girly

Something for the boys!

Hello there! Its hump day - woo hoo!

I hope you're enjoying your week so far...I can't believe that May is nearly over already! What is happening to this year??

Anyway, last weekend I had an action packed time - on Saturday I went to the Burlesque Afternoon tea with Lorna, it was officially my last Birthday treat of this year! We had a fabulous time...the tea was yummy and the entertainment was good fun! Lorna and I both dressed for the occasion....Lorna in full on 1920s flapper style and me in my 1950s dress and petticoat. Here is a dodgy photo that someone took of us

Doesn't Lorna look fab?

So a very girlie day on Saturday....followed by a more manly day on Sunday as Joe and I took part in a charity car rally. It started with a procession in Petersfield that made us feel like celebrities...this was the view from inside Joe's car....

All those people lining the streets were fantastic...taking photos and waving at all the participants! It was such good fun. We then drove off in convoy, travelling to several different check points...to be honest the traffic jams were quite cool....

Finally we ended up in Farnham, our final destination. The sun shone all day and the cars all looked fantastic!

So, I do have a card for you today...and it fits in with my car day....

I've gone with a blue and brown colour theme for my masculine car, along with a fab Mini stamped image. I have coloured my image with my Promarkers and have added my sentiment and some faux stitching.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments - show us your stitching
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes

Sketch Time!

Hello there! Me again!

This time I am back with a fab sketch challenge from My Time to Craft...if you're looking for my Sweet Stampin challenge post you need to scroll down!

Soooo....what does the sketch look like I hear you ask....here you go....

Very cute! Those little stars can be stars....or flowers...or gems....just as long as they sit in the correct place on the card!

Here is how I used the sketch....

Hee, hee! I love this image! He's just so cute!
I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and created my sentiment on my computer. I've gone with a bright colour combo for this card, and added gold stars....perfect for a rocking Birthday!

For more inspiration on how to use this sketch, pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Passion for Promarkers - Special Anniversary anything goes challenge
I Heart Promarkers - anything goes

Pop by all these fab blogs if you've got the change...there are some fab DT cards to be seen!

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow.....Joe is driving a car in a classic car show in Farnham. Its quite a big show with over 100 cars taking place. I've decided to go along as a passenger....and that means I get to raid my vintage clothes collection and dress up! Its a shame that Joe's car is a 1979 Toyato Celica....I wish he had a 1950s car....I have many more dresses to match that era!

Doilies & Dies

Hello there, Happy Saturday!

I hope you a well and have had a good week. I don't know about you, but I'm ready for another long weekend! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, whatever you have planned.

I have another trip into London today....this time with my Sister Lorna who has treated me a to a Burlesque afternoon tea for my Birthday! We're quite excited...but I have no idea what to expect...I'll report back soon!

So, this week we have a fab challenge for you at Sweet Stampin...we want to see your projects featuring doilies and dies. I decided to get pretty and sweet with my card....

I love this colour combo, I think it looks soooo pretty! This baking image is gorgeous too (although my colouring is a tad bit dodgy!!), thats exactly what I look like when I'm baking - ha, ha! I am of course fibbing here....I am such a messy baker, my hair would be a mess and there would be cake batter all over the place!

I've used one of my fab pre-cut doilies, and some die hearts which were cut using my Cuttlebug (which I should use more often!!). My image has been coloured with my Promarkers. I've created my sentiment on the printer (which finally works again) and added some doodling to one of my hearts with a white gel pen. Finally I added a little sparkle to the hearts on the image with my Stickles.

Pop by the Sweet Stampin challenge blog to see how the fab Team Abi ladies have used the theme this week. While you're there you can read all about the prizes are fab sponsors have on offer, we are joined this week by

Ho, ho, ho...whats that I hear??

Morning Crafters!

Happy Saturday! I hope you are all well and had a fab week! I went to see a musical production called That'll Be the Day last night with my sister. It was billed as a musical and comedy treat, featuring sounds from the 50s - 70s. It's been running for 27 years now and so I'm wondering if any of you have ever seen it??

Well, I have to say it was wonderful....amazing performers, great songs and the comedy had me crying! However, I wasn't prepared for how long it lasted....a full three hours and 15 minutes! I couldn't believe it! The tickets were only £21 so it was real value for money!

Anyway....today I'm also being a bit musical as Mum is meeting me in London to go and see Singin in the Rain. Its my Birthday pressie from mum and I can't wait!

So.....do you hear those bells? Maybe the faint rumble of a "ho, ho,ho"?? You must be able to hear it.....all us ladies at My Time to Craft can! Thats because this week's challenge is Christmas in May! So, dust off all those lovely Christmas stamps and embellishments and get crafting!

I decided to go quite contemporary with my design....opting for blues colours and cute stamped images. My tree has been paper pieced onto several pieces of plain coloured paper. My Rudolph has been stamped and coloured with my Promarkers. I've added some sparkle with my Stickles and a little doodling with a fine brown pen.

Play your cards right

Hello there! Happy Thursday!

Hope you're having a fab week so far.....I'm a lucky girl this week. I am off to a local theatre tonight to see "That'll Be the Day" with my sister and then I'm heading into London on Saturday to see "Singing in the Rain" with mum! Work is still very manic at the moment, and so I am really looking forward to relaxing in good company and seeing these fab musicals.

I have a slightly different card for you today.....

Yes....I've created a masculine card!

I'm really pleased with how this card looks. I have started with plain green paper, and layered this with some plain red and some red and white gingham paper. I have stamped my playing cards, and created my sentiment on the computer. Finally I have added some faux white stitches (possibly a bit girlie, but I couldn't help myself!).

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge - lots of layers
The Pink Elephant - masculine birthday card

If you get the chance pop by these fab blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created!

Show us your insides!!

Hee, hee! Not the insides of your body...that would be gross.....no the fab My Time to Craft DT wants to see the inside of your cards this week!

So what are you waiting for....get crafty and make the insides of your cards just as pretty as the outsides!

Here is what I created.....

I love this red and green colour combo - I think it looks fresh and fun!

I've used plain papers in both red and green for the layered background...which I then topped with the cute cherry backing paper. I've then added a white panel with my printed sentiment. Finally I made my cherries from more red and green paper.

This card was made for Joe's Mum's Birthday....and I was feeling a bit retro that day I think!!

Do you want to see the outside too??

Here you go....

Told you I was feeling a bit retro!

I've used my fab 50s housewife image which I got free with a craft magazine for this card. I've added some faux stitching around the image and sentiment before layering more of that fab red, green and cherry backing paper in the background.

I'm pleased to report that Annette really like this card.

Keep it Simple!

Good Morning! Welcome to Saturday morning!

I hope you are well and had a lovely week.

This week at Sweet Stampin we're asking you to keep things simple....we'd like to see your clean and simple cards. So no fuss or over embellishing please!

I decided to use a fab new digi image that I treated myself too from Digi Stamp Boutique...its part of a very cute set....

I'm really pleased with this card....I love the sentiment!

I printed my image and coloured it with my Promarkers. To add a little colour I cut a backing circle in pale pink, which I attached to the back of my image before adding some white faux stitching (well if you've got a sewing machine you need some stitches!).

Pop by the Sweet Stampin blog to see what beautiful CAS cards Team Abi came up with. While you're their you can find out about our fab monthly sponsor....

A couple of cards

Hello there...Happy Thursday!

I hope this week is being kind to you! The cake sale at Brownies last night went very well...I even treated myself to a sweet treat....

I can confirm that it was a rather yummy blackberry cupcake!

I am here this morning to share a couple of new cards with you....

First off one to make you smile.....

Hee, hee! I actually made this card for my boss Viv...luckily we have a very good relationship and she saw the funny side of the card!

The image is coloured with my Promarkers and I have gone with a rather retro looking backing paper in orange to match the vivid blue plain paper.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Passion for Promarkers - "Birthdays"
Wags 'n' Whiskers - Girl Birthday

The second card I have does not include a stamped image...no I'm revisting one of my favourite crafts - paper crafting.....

I've gone with a clean and simple finish for this card, letting the birdie take centre stage! My bird has been made out of patterned and plain backing paper, I have added googly eyes and some etching with my Promarkers around the plain paper. Finally I stamped my "thank you" sentiment.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenge:
Simon Says Stamp - things with wings

Thanks for popping by today,
Wedgie xxx

PS....I'm off to a cocktail making class tonight! Wish me luck....I hope I don't enjoy the cocktails too much and forget how they are actually made!!!

Winter Sports!

Hello there!

Happy Wednesday...I hope you are having a good week....I do love bank holiday weekends, they make the working week so much shorter!

I spent my weekend in the garden, it was lovely to finally see some sunshine and get on top of all the weeds! Also got my veggies planted. I ache all over at the moment, but it was worth it! Now can you all keep your fingers crossed for everything to grow please!

Soooo.....another month has flown by and we have a new challenge for you over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin. And this month....just as the snow has finally melted we are asking to see your cards featuring a winter sport.

Now, I have to say I struggled a little here....I don't seem to have many images featuring any kind of sport....let alone a winter one!! Luckily I managed to unearth this image....

So, my winter sport is sledging, with a little walking thrown in!!

My cute image is coloured with my Promarkers and I have gone with a blue theme to match all the snow. I have added some sparkle to the snow with my Stickles. Finally I added my brilliant sentiment....I really should use this one more, it makes me smile!

Pop by the Christmas at Sweet Stampin challenge blog to find out which winter sports the DT chose to feature on their cards. While you're there you can find out about the fab prize we have on offer this month from our sponsor....

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts - add some sparkle (my snowflakes)
Di's Digi Design - anything but square
Papertake Weekly - anything goes with an optional extra of using two stamps

Pop by all these challenge blogs if you get the change to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week!

We've got a cake sale at Brownies tonight....so of course I got baking!

I hope these are going to be popular!

More than words.....

Hello there!

Happy Saturday....its a Bank Holiday Weekend in the UK....a lovely long weekend...plus we've had some lovely weather this week! What a lovely combination!

Soooo....we have a lovely challenge for you over at My Time to Craft this week....we want to see you using your sentiment as the main focus of your card. I love the power of words...especially on a card...you really have the ability to make someone smile!

Maybe a bit predictably I've gone with a baking theme to my card.....

Now first off....please excuse the hand written sentiment....I have very suddenly run out of ink in my printer!! I thought there would be some kind of warning...but no...I've run out just like that!!

Anyone who has popped by my blog before knows that I love baking....making cakes and breads in my kitchen makes me happy (a probably a little bit heavier than I should be!!). Therefore I thought this was the perfect sentiment for a card from me!

I've gone with a pink and blue colour combo, some punched flowers with gem stone centres, the tiny cute cupcake image and some faux stitching. I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and added a little bit of colour to the flowers too.

Pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see what brilliant cards the DT have created this week!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Love to Create - punches and or dies
Crafty Sentiments - the letter B (bling, blue and baking!)
Simon Says Stamp - Happy Mail

NOTE - to all the challenge blogs mentioned above - I had difficulty linking to you on Saturday, but it seems to be working today (Sunday)....I'm not backlinking I promise!!!

There is great inspiration on all these challenge blogs this week....pop by if you've got the chance and take a peek!

I also wanted to share with you my latest baking creation....I don't usually make cakes for other people, but a good friend of mine asked for cakes for a baby shower she is hosting and I couldn't say no!

I made twenty cupcakes in total, 10 blue and 10 pink (because they don't know if the baby is going to be a boy or a girl yet!) plus the plain white iced cake. Its the best royal icing I've done so far....I was so pleased with myself!

Thanks for popping by today,

Not a card in sight!

Hello there!

A really quick mid-week post from me today....Allsorts have a fab challenge that I couldn't resist joining this week.

Their challenge is "anything but a card"....last time they had this challenge I entered some cupcakes...this time I decided to make something a little bit different.....

These little beauties are salted dark chocolate spheres! I made them for Joe's Mum's Birthday as she loves salted chocolate. They are made using a fab mould from Baked By Me - Iris stocks lots of fab moulds! The spheres are hollow and I have added some glitter for a little sparkle!

I'm pleased to report that Joe's Mum was really pleased with them!

Pop by the Allsorts Challenge blog to see what other things the DT have made this week!

Thanks for popping by today and I look forward to seeing you again soon!
