Technology!! Aaarrrgghh!!

Hello folks, hope you're well today.

Well you might be wondering what I'm doing posting on a Thursday morning...shouldn't I be at my desk in New Malden slaving away?? Well, I'm actually off work now until next Wednesday - woo hoo!! Joe is part of the British Drifting Championships (where they slide cars around a track sideways) and this weekend is Round 2. I'm going to support Joe, I really hope he does well as if he makes it into the finals of his class he'll be featured on TV! How exciting!

Anyway, I have a couple of cards for you today....I've really struggled to get these onto Blogger as my phone (which takes the photos) and my laptop don't seem to be talking at the moment!! Not sure what the problem is, but its taken me ages!! I also have to apologise for the quality of the photos...my phone is really being annoying today!!

Told you it was a dodgy photo! I've used a pink and brown colour combo for this little cutie....I'm not entirely sure about the stamped sentiment, I think I should have stamped it in brown rather than black.

Feeling like a rock star?

I think everyone should feel like a rock star every so often! My boyfriend loves music....hes very talented and can play various instruments and can sing beautifully (he sang at my sister's wedding). He always looks happiest when hes singing his heart out around the flat!

What a brilliant weekend!

Happy Monday folks!

Sooooo....I've had a fab weekend....the sun shone all weekend...Becca loved her Birthday surprise....it was sooo much fun! We took Becca to the Ballgowns exhibition at the Victoria & Albert museum....a room full of gorgeous dresses, what more could a girl want?! Oh! I know! A Sex in the City Themed afternoon tea...complete with mini burgers and chocolate shoes!! The photos don't really do it justice....all the food looked and tasted amazing!

Right, tonight I decided to catch up on my challenges....so be warned there are a couple of cards to follow!! First off I have a very girlie card for you....

I've used plain pink and brown papers, along with some fab pink and brown polka dot paper. I've topped this with a trio of cupcakes and a setiment fit for a Queen! Finally I've added some faux stiches and little white dots and lots of glitter!!

....isn't it a cutie?? I love polka dots and teacups, so this is right up my street! Here is what I created....

I've used plain blue, red gingham and light blue spotty (although you can't really see the dots!!) paper to create this card....along with a fab image from Digi Doodle coloured with my Promarkers. I was soooo lucky last week....I was picked as the winner of the work related challenge at Digi Doodle - thank you ladies!!

Flying to the Moon & Stars!

Happy Saturday Folks!

Hope you're well today! I'm off to London today with my sister Lorna and my best friend Becca...its Becca's Birthday next week and we're treating her to some Birthday surprises today! Pop back tomorrow when I'll tell you all about what we get up to....but lets just say that it involves pretty dresses and cakes!!

Cup of Birthday Tea!

Hello Folks!

What do you know.....a Wednesday post from me! Amazing!

Hee, hee.....well here I am back with another card and this time I've created something a little bit different. Inspired by the 3D challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown I decided to make my own 3D teacup! What do you think....

Sorry its not the best photo....it was quite hard to photograph!!

To make this cute teacup I took a square folded card and drew the teacup shape on the front. When happy with the shape (and believe me this took some time!!) I cut the shape out, making sure to cut through both sides of the card. I then stuck the pretty pink paper onto the front of the teacup and added the inside of the teacup by adding an oval of cream coloured card - to match the cream handle. I then stamped my flowers and leaves image, coloured with my Promarkers and stuck to the front as well. I also edged the teacup with a pink Promarker to add depth. I made my saucer from an oval of pink paper and a smaller oval of cream.

Birthday Wishes!

Hello Peeps, Happy Tuesday!

Hope you've had a good day....and I hope the sun was shining where ever you are in the world! Its been glorious here today.

Sooo....I have a cute little card for you today....its a Birthday card.....it has a fab sentiment and it features cakes! What more could you want??

I've used plain red and blue backing paper, along with some cute patterned papers also in red and blue. I've coloured my cute cupcakes with my Promarkers and fixed them onto the card using 3D sticky pads......adding a little sparkle to the icing with my sparkles. Finally I added the sentiment which I created on my computer.

I love buttons!!

Hello my fellow crafters....how are you today?

Hope you've had a better Monday than me....I've worked from home this afternoon and I've been plagued by IT issues....included my work laptop screen going completly blank at one point! That was scary!! I'm pleased to say its all fixed now and so I'm a happy bunny again!!

Soooo...its Monday...its time to join in the fun at Make it Monday. I'm so pleased to have discovered this fab linky party blog....you get to see so many great makes each week! Its also time for a new challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenge and this week they have a book lover challenge. You need to feature a book, or maybe a page from a book or stamped text! What a fab challenge!

So, what do you think? I've used lots of pinks and purple today! Plus that fab stamped text and some buttons with thread tied into bows. I always forget how much I love using buttons on projects....as well as my cards I also customise tops and add them to cushions. I love them!!

Challenges Galore!

Happy Sunday Folks!

Hope you're all having a fab weekend! I survived my Brownie experience yesterday....I was tasked with supervising the circus skills equiptment....unfortuantly for me this was a very popular area with the Brownies! I think I probably saw all 550 of them at some point in the day!!

Today has been a lot more sedate....a trip to Tescos....some housework (boring!!) and some crafting!! I also decided to do some blog surfing to find some new challenge blogs to add to the ones I already join each week. There are soooo many out there!!

Inspired by all the DT cards I've seen today I got stuck in.....

I have to say that I am sooo pleased with this card (despite those polka dots giving me a bit of a headache!!) I've used blue backing paper, along with that fab polka dot paper. I've used a Digi Doodles vintage car image along with a Papermania stamped image and I think they look quite cute together. My little mechanic is fixed on the card using 3D sticky pads to make him look like hes in front of the car!

Clean and Simple

Hello there, hope you're well!

I love popping by everyone's blogs to see what they've been making and recently the wonderful Faye made a gorgeous card that really inspired me. I've never been that great at clean and simple cards.....I find it hard to stop adding to cards!! But Faye has an absolutely gorgeous framed clean and simple card on her blog that I fancied trying for myself. I checked with Faye to see how she created the frame and after playing around for a bit I created the following:

Isn't it cool?? I've stamped my cakes in the bottom right hand corner of the card and added my sentiment to the top left hand corner. I then added a doodled frame and coloured the cupcakes with my pencils. Finally I added a little sparkle with my red stickles.

I'm so pleased with how this turned out - thanks Faye for your advice!

Encouraged by my first creation I decided to try another one....

This one I have changed the frame slightly, using a distinct double line. I've also added more colour to the card, creating a background for my hot air balloons. I'm not entirely sure I like this one as much as the first - I think the block of colour in one corner looks a bit silly!!

In the Garden

Hello peeps...hope you've had a fab Tuesday!

I'm back again with another creation...this time with a garden theme, using one of my favourite new stamps....

I've used a basic blue background and topped that with two different design papers and a lovely piece of bright yellow ribbon. I have topped my bright and cheerful background with the green house image that I have coloured with my Promarkers. Finally I finished off the top right hand corner with some faux stitching.

Now I bet you're thinking...why has Wedgie used all this bright paper....these aren't patterns you'd normally find in the garden! Well, this is because I have been inspired by the fab photo challenge at Passion for Promarkers this week....take a peep at this photo....now when I saw this fab collection of ribbons I instantly thought of a rainbow - hence the bright, cheerful stripey paper! I also love nothing better than a garden full of bright flowers...so this paper seemed perfect.

No Design Paper Was Harmed in the Making of this Card!!

Hello Folks - Happy Monday!!

Hope you've had a good day. I had a meeting with some IT consultants at work today....I was with them for an hour and a half and I think they might have sucked all the knowledge from my head! It was an intense meeting!!

Now I'm home.....and its craft time!!

Now I'm not happy with this card....it seemed like the more I did the more I disliked it!! So I stopped.....and here is the finished card! I love the colours, but I think I've struggled with the lack of design papers here. I've used pink and cream papers, a lovely piece of cream lace and a cute Polly Craft image (my favourite!!).

Keeping it in the family

Hello folks, hope you're having a lovely weekend.

Its so nice to see some sunshine. Today is a sad day for me and my family, as its a whole year since my Dad passed away from cancer. I still can't believe that a year has passed by so quickly and I'd like to thank all my friends and family for their ongoing support - you're all wonderful!

With this in mind I was pleased to see a "card for a man or boy challenge" over at Allsorts this week....this card is for my Dad...

This cheeky little chappie reminds me of my Dad quite a bit....althought the image has a lot more hair than Dad had!! Dad was a complete handy man....complete with lots of tools! There wasn't anything he wouldn't try and fix himself!

I've spent this morning with my mum and my sister and her hubby at Wisley Gardens, a beautiful place that we visited with Dad when he was well. We wandered around the gardens and bought lots of plants between us.

After this I've had some time to myself, so I did what makes me happiest....I baked some cupcakes and made some cards!! Here is my next card...

I'm pleased with how this card turned out, the LOVT image is really cute and these papers are lovely new ones that I got free with a magazine. I've added a punched flower and a little glitter. I'd like to enter this card in the following challenge:

Something a little sweet for a Friday afternoon!

Hello there! I hope you've had a fab week.

I'm just stopping by with a little sweet treat for you.....

Inspired by the slightly more masculine biscuits that I showed you on Tuesday I decided to make a girlier version of the card....complete with jammy dodger and party ring! Everything is made from papers found in my stash, I've also used some pale pink ribbon on the party ring. I've made the biscuits stand out from the card using 3D sticky pads.

Happy Tuesday!

Hello there!

Well, I've had a lovely lazy start to the day! I have taken today as annual leave and I'm off into London in a bit to meet my friend Becca...we're off to some museums today.

Time for a quick card though! I started this card last night and finished it off today when I saw this week's challenge over at a Passion for Promarkers which is "Special Birthday".

I've been experimenting with my Promarkers some more, discovering what affects I can achieve and I'm really pleased with this pretty card. I love how I've added a little demension to the flowers by using the two greens together.

Oh La La!

Hello there....hope you're having a fab bank holiday Monday! Mine has been soooo relaxing! Lots of crafting for me today and lots of vintage shopping yesterday at a fab vintage festival! I dressed for the occassion in one of my 1960s dresses and managed to buy a gorgeous piece of antler luggage.....what do you think?? Just the right size for my new handbag!!

Soooo...its Monday and that means one thing....its time for a new challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge....and this week the theme is "Oh La La!" If you're stuck for inspiration check out the Cupcake blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards. I went for a bathroom theme.....with lots of pink and a splash of blue!

I hope this is enough "oh la la" for the Cupcake ladies!!  I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and added a little sparkle to the bubbles with my stickles.

I've done a lot of paper crafting this weekend....this is my favourite type of card making. I find something very satisfying about making pieces of paper into shapes that people recognise! Here are some of the cards I made this weekend....

Black and White and not square!

I have a quick card for you today as I am supposed to be getting ready for a night out (yes I realise its very early!!).

So this card is for the Black and White challenge over at Allsorts this week.....I've been a bit naughty adding a little brown to the image and I hope the Allsorts ladies let me off. The image looked a bit odd without the brown though!

Time for a sweet treat!

Woo hoo! Its Fridays....its a long weekend....and I have Tuesday off as well! That makes me very happy! I hope you're also in a good mood on this Friday evening!

Sooo....I haven't blogged in a couple of days so I thought I better catch up with some challenges! First off we have one of my least favourite challenges over at Cute Card Thursday this week....yes thats right, they're asking for "one for the boys". After all these years I still struggle with male cards....someone I know even commented on how my male cards didn't seem as good as my female ones!! Anway, when I see this challenge I always give it a go....after all practice makes perfect!!

Bright & Light

Happy Tuesday!

Well, I know I said it was weird weather last week...but the last 24 hours have been mad!! Yesterday was quite dull and windy, last night there was a thunder storm so loud that it actually woke me up, this morning I drove to work in the rain and now there is beautiful sunshine outside my window! Bizarre!!

The challenge this week at Passion for Promarkers is "Bright & Light".....soooo they want to see either a brightly coloured image and a lightly coloured background or vice versa.....interesting!! I opted for a bright image on a lighter background.....

I found this challenge quite challenging as I'd never tried anything like this before. I knew the look I wanted, but I don't think I've quite achieved it here....never mind practice makes perfect!!

As well as Passion for Promarkers I'd also like to enter this card in the "anything goes" challenge over at Papertake Weekly this week.
