What a wet evening!

Hello there....what horrible weather! It's so wet and grey out there!

Ohhh...I'm a lucky girl, my Dad has just bought me a steaming mug of tea....I'm normally a coffee fan and I'm also partial to the odd cup of green tea...but there is nothing like steaming hot tea when you're feeling cold! I thought I'd share a little card with you to brighten up the day a bit....

The fab layout for this card comes from Arlana at Sweet Sketch Wednesday....check out the blog for all the gorgeous DT cards. I've used a selection of papers in pink, chocolate and yellow, plus one of the micey days images that I love. I didn't know if this colour combo would work, but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

I've used a fab pink glitter pen for my stitches, along with some sticky gems to add some bling....this is all for this fortnight's challenge over at the Creative Cottage, Suzie has picked the theme of "bling it on!"...and you all know that I can't resist a bit of bling on my cards! Take a peek at all the DT cards for more sparkle!

Right, I'm off for some blog hopping now...can't wait to see everyone's gorgeous cards!

T is for.....

....Tree....a christmas tree!

Morning all....hope you're all well today! A quick post for you this morning, after I left you last night I was very naughty and instead of heading to bed like I wanted to do I started experimenting with some buttons! Here is the result...

I've recently aquired a lot of red buttons and as they seem to be really popular at the moment I wondered how I could use them on a Christmas card. The tree is a triangle of green paper and the base is an old tag that I've cut to size. I used a mixture of red buttons in different shades and sizes.

As well as being a very simple card, this also fits in with two challenges:

ABC Christmas Challenge - T is for Tree
Charisma Cardz - anything goes

Pop over to each blog to see all the wonderful DT cards!

Right, I'm off to work now....I'm in the midst of arranging two national meetings at the moment and so my inbox is rather full!

A cute colour combo!

Evening All,

Hope you've all had a good Monday. Mine was the usual....work all day, then home for a bit of baking and card making! I seem to have got into a bit of a pattern of baking on a Monday evening! I've been asked to make a card for a friend and as the Birthday girl is a bit of a shoe-aholic I decided to use on of my favourite designs...

The colour scheme was inspired by a challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week.....the lovely ladies have asked for projects with a pink and brown theme. Take a peek at the gorgeous DT cards on the blog!

As I said this design will probably be familiar to some of my regular blog friends...I love this sentiment and I often use the same template for the shoes. I've never done it with a pink and brown colour scheme before.....I also haven't used buttons on the shoes before (or at least I don't think I have!).

Do you remember those teapot biscuits from yesterday? They are nearly all gone already thanks to friends and family! However, I managed to do a little decorating before they all went.... I've traced the outline of the biscuits with some fab glitter icing.
I've also made some fab pina colada cupcakes this evening! You'll see from the photo that I won't be winning any prizes for these ones...they're not exactly the prettiest cakes I've ever made! They are made using coconut milk and pineapple....just what you need to brighten up these grey September days.

Thanks for stopping by today, I'm going to curl up in bed now with a book I think! Yes, I know its early, but I'm freezing cold!!

I've had a wonderful Sunday!

As my post title suggests I've had a lovely Sunday! I had a mini lie-in first thing, then I did some boring house work.....followed by a mooch around the shops where I bought a new snuggly jumper! After a spot of lunch I made some cards and did some baking! My mouth is currently watering as my latest creation is baking away in the oven....I've made some fab little teapot biscuits using a recipe from Essentials magazine - they smell wonderful!

Let's start with a card......this card was a complete nightmare to take a photograph of, when will I learn not to use silver on my cards?!? This card ties in with several challenges:

Bah!Humbug! - Stars
Allsorts - Plain & Simple
Caardvarks - Clean & Simple

Pop over to all the blogs above to see all the wonderful DT cards.

I've used silver paper to start with and then topped that with a layer of deep purple paper. The bauble is made out of more silver paper, a little thread and two purple stars. I attached the bauble to the card using sticky 3D pads to make it stand out a little.

The second card I made today is another Christmas card....well I haven't made any in a while! This card is for the challenge over at Winter Wonderland....can you guess the challenge....

The challenge theme is "deck the halls with boughs of holly"! You can interpret this theme however you fancy...take a peek at the gorgeous DT cards on the blog. I've used a combination of red and green paper to make this card. I added a little sparkle to the holly berries using my red glitter glue and highlighted my sentiment with a little green glitter glue.

Well, my laptop decided to have a little "moment" while I've been typing and that gave me enough time to rescue my biscuits from the oven....to be honest I left them a little too long and the edges are a little burnt, but not enough to ruin the delicious chocolate flavour...yes, I've already tasted one!

I used a cutter that I found while out shopping earlier...isn't it cute? All I need now is a little teacup! I think I might also ice these biscuits too, adding a little details in a white icing.

Right, I'm off...."Come Dine With Me" has just started and I love that programme! Thank you to everyone who has left me a lovely comment about my new profile photo. I have to confess that I dyed my hair a little while ago now, so I thought it was time to update my profile!

Another fab evening!

Evening All!

Today is Wednesday and its as its now September again that means I'm back with the Brownies and Guides on a Wednesday evening. This week was a little different though because I took the Brownies to our local fire station! It was a lovely evening, we met Red Watch who showed us around the station and taught us fire safety. The girls even got to look around the inside of a fire engine. I think I'm safe in saying that the leaders all had a good time too!

As its Wednesday, its also time for another sketch from Arlana at Sweet Sketch Wednesday...

Sorry the image is a little blurry!

I decided to go with a blue and brown theme for this "passed your driving test" card, the little car is a die cut and I made the key (yes, its a key!) and the L-Plate from paper in my stash. Pop over to the blog to see how the fab DT have used this sketch!

This card also fits in with the theme of "transport" which is over at Cupcake Craft Challenge this week. The DT have created some fab cards - go take a peek! You'll find allsorts of unusual kinds of transport!

A Purrfect evening!

Hello there! Hope you're well today!

I've had a lovely evening....I came home from work and cooked mum dinner. I used the new Nigella book I told you about, trying out her recipe for chicken teriyaki....it was so simple to make and tasted fab. I then finshed off some raspberry cupcakes that I baked last night, icing them and adding a little sparkle....

I'm pleased to say that they taste as good as they look! I flavoured them using raspberry jam that mum made this summer. Inspired by my efforts I then watched the final of Britain's Best Amateur Baker.

Then finally I made some cards! I can't believe I actually fitted so much in this evening, but it really was a purrfect evening! My card is for this week's challenge over at Papertake Weekly, where the theme is "animal magic"....pop over and see the gorgeous DT cards!

My cheeky cat is just purr-fect for wishing someone a Happy Birthday! I used a shaped card that I received free with a crafting magazine as a template to make my cat, I had to downsize it slightly to fit on my card.

Just a quick post this evening, my bed is calling!

Thanks for popping by,

I'm freezing!!!

Wow...don't go on a summer holiday just as the weather is changing back home! I had a fab week with Becca in Tenerife (despite airport delays)....it was windy out there, but it was still a lot warmer than the UK! I need my thermals on already!

Hello everyone, I hope you're all well! I really missed my crafting last week.....yes, silly me didn't take any with me! I had a lot of books and magazines, but nothing crafty! I won't be making that mistake again!

Right...I've been asked to make some personalised cards and as they'll see they seem to fit well with several challenges....I'll kick start with my favourite one....

.....I am so pleased with how this card has turned out, even if I do say so myself! I've used a gorgeous black and white spotty paper, along with some pink card. I created the personalised sentiment on my computer.

The sillouette is a die cut that I bought at a craft fair on Saturday afternoon....yes I know I only got back on Saturday, but I still managed to get some crafty shopping in! You can't really see it in this photo, but I have added a bit of pink glitter glue to the bag...you know how I love my sparkle!

I'm entering this card in the "anything goes" challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge....I love these challenges, so simple! The DT cards are all gorgeous, take a peek at the blog to see them.

The Creative Cottage Ladies are having an exciting week, as well as a new challenge they are also celebrating the opening of their new shop with a fab blog hop.....its only on for two days so you'll have to be quick if you want to join in!

Their challenge this week is "Birthday Boy" and the DT have created some gorgeous cards. Here is mine.....

I've used a blue and silver theme and kept the card very simple....perfect for a stylish Dad!

My last card is for a mum who is always rushing around.....this card is for the Allsorts Challenge this week which has asked for a card which features three different punches. Take a peek at their blog to see the gorgeous DT cards.

I've used a circle punch, a large flower punch and a teeny flower punch on this card, along with some more of that fab pink card and some pink and white spotty paper. Again the sentiment has been created on my computer.

What a lot of cards! I'm off to join in the Creative Cottage blog hop before I go to bed!

Delicious Doodles

This is a slightly different post to my usual ones......as regular visitors may recognise some of the cards here. This is not a post for any of the challenge blogs I love and enter each week, but instead a mini display of some of my cards. The reason for this is a DT call from a gorgeous little shop called Delicious Doodles.

This gorgeous blog shop is run by Teri, who creates the most devine doodles that she sells. It's the perfect place for crafters to stop by and browse because her doodles cover so many different topics and themes...if you're in need of something specific you should take a peek...from a Guinness glass to a dragon, from a dancing couple to an egg - Teri has them all!

Teri is looking for DT members to help her create samples, showcasing her scrummy digi images....fancy a go? Pop over to the Delicious Doddles blog to find out more!

So, here are some of my favourite cards that I've created recently....

I hope you all like this little collection....these are all cards that make me smile and I think thats the most important thing about crafting! I've really developed a love of stamping and digi images over the last eight months and I love sharing my cards with you all.

Right, I'm off...thanks for stopping by!

A little bit of glitter, some autumn colours and Nigella!

Hello everyone..hope you're all having a good Saturday.

I've had a lovely lazy Saturday...had a cheeky lie-in, followed by a wander around the shops and then a little crafting while watching Come Dine With Me (a true guilty pleasure) on the telly. I treated myself to the new book from Nigella Lawson....it's called Kitchen and I'm so pleased I bought it! There are so many different recipes that I'm looking forward to trying out! I love Nigella, she comes across as a normal woman who really enjoys cooking.

Right, so onto my first card....

...this is slightly different to my usual cupcake cards, which always seem to be pink or purple! The reason for this particulat colour scheme is the challenge over at Allsorts this week, where they have called for colours of autumn.

I've also been looking around blogland for some new challenge blogs...I'm so nosey so I love a bit of blog hoppy! This card also fits in with the Birthday challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog and the anything goes challenge over at A Crafty Little Place.

Since I've entered this card into three challenges, I thought I'd also enter it in the Pile It On challenge blog, their theme this week is Layers.

Pop over to all the blogs mentioned to see the gorgeous DT cards.

Since I'm off on my hols tomorrow and won't be posting again until next Saturday I thought I'd add another card too....this time it's my weekly Christmas hit! I have a very sparkly card for you...

...told you it was sparkly! This simple card is for two Christmas challenges...

Bah! Humbug! has asked us crafters to create something using our favourie meduim....whether it be digi images, stamping, embossing...whatever floats your boat! Over this year I've developed quite a passion for stamping....I'm not the best in the world at it, but I really enjoy using my stamps!

The reason this is so simple is because the theme over at Winter Wonderland is "one layer card". They basically want cards that will be easy to post...no bows or embellishments!

These are new stamps that I got in a goodie bag recently...this was the first time I've used them and if I'm honest I found the quite tricky to use. I've used glitter glue to colour the images, picking out the detail in different colours. I'm not really a huge fan of this card.

Right, sorry for the long post....I'll see you next week after a week lying on the beach! I shouldn't show off really....bet it'll rain all week now!

Thanks for stopping by today and thank you for all your lovely comments, everyone is so encouraging and supportive.

Happy Birthday to Ewe!

Evening All...another late post for me....I was late night shopping with my sister earlier. We had a lovely time window shopping...and more importantly I found a pair of jeans that actually fit me! It was a demorialising experience to start off with, but after a few different shops and several pairs of jeans I finally found an Oasis pair that I really like. Woo hoo! A HUGE thank you to Lorna for helping me out - hope you enjoy your pink tights!

I hope you've all had a good day too! I'm glad it's Thursday evening....it's been a long week!

I have a cute little card for you today....

This little cutie is for the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday where they've given us the theme "Play on words". If you've visited my blog before you might recognise this little sheep, I love him and use him on a lot of cards! I think this is my favourite sentiment to use with him. The layout for the card comes from the sketch challenge over at Papertake Weekly. I enjoyed using this one! Take a peek at both blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards.

Oh....you might also be glad to know that I've finally packed my suitcase, although it looks pretty empty to me and I'm now worried that I've forgotten something! I'm finally feeling a bit organised!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Gorgeous Buttons!

Hi there! Hope you're well! Look what I found waiting for me at home after work today.....

....lots of gorgeous pink buttons! Can you see the cute little alligator button? How cool! This lovely selection came from Pixie Rose, a lovely site full of goodies!

I got all my timings wrong this morning, I left Joe's in Aldershot far too early and ended up at my desk at 7:35am! I set off early to miss all the traffic on the A3....but there wasn't any this morning!! Its been a very long day! After work I came home and had time to create the card that I'm going to show you, then off to Brownies and then Guides. I'm now looking forward to going to bed!

Anyway, enough moaning and feeling sorry for myself...here is my card for today:

I based this card on a lovely sketch from Arlana at Sweet Sketch Wednesday, it was lovely to use...pop over to the blog to see how the wonderful SSW DT used it on their gorgeous cards too.

I've used another Penny Black image from the micey days stamps, they're all so cute! The colour scheme of purple, brown and cream was provided by the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog. This is another new blog I've discovered, which gives a weekly challenge. Anyone can enter as long as they follow the challenge and use at least one Penny Black image. Pop over and take a look at the cute cards the DT have created this week.

Right, I'd better get going before I fall asleep on my laptop!

Thanks for stopping by today and thank you for all the lovely comments that people have been leaving me, they are so nice to read.

Happily Ever After.....

Evening All,

Two posts today! I got back to Joe's and just got the urge to craft. I knew I'd left my craft box here and thought I'd have a play. Imagine my dismay when I looked in the box and realised there wasn't much in it! I had a huge assortment of white card blanks, sticky dots, 3D sticky pads, some gems, three pens, a scrap of silver card and some old wrapping paper! I'd taken all my paper stash home with me!

Still, I decided to have a play anyway and came up with the following....

It's very wonky and the sentiment isn't in the middle, but I'm still pretty pleased with the outcome considering my limited resources! Hee, hee!

I used the wrapping paper and silver card in layers and topped them off with a handmade bride and groom, luckily I had black and pink gems to add a little dazzle. With no sentiments and no printer to hand I decided to write my sentiment on....I just didn't manage to centre it properly!

This card is for two challenges....firstly Allsorts have given us the theme of new beginnings...and Cupcake gave the theme of books and stories. I've always loved the romantism of fairy tales....the prince and princess living happily ever after. I thought weddings and fairy tales went very well together.

Right, I'm off to cook dinner for me and Joe.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Tea for Two

Morning All, the sun is shining, all is good! I got up early for my shower this morning, only for someone else in the house to turn a tap on somewhere else and freeze me mid shower! Bbrrr!

Another blogger has mentioned the Penny Black at Allsorts challenge blog, they run monthly challenges which involve a theme and of course a Penny Black image. The theme for this month's challenge is Punch Away. They are currrently looking for new DT members and since I seem to have developed quite a taste for stamping I thought I give it a go....

This cute image is from the Micey Days stamp set...isn't it lovely?! I decided on a shabby chic feel for this card. For the Penny Black at Allsorts challenge I used my trusty flower punches. I've also followed the recipe from this week's Paper Cutz challenge:

1 ribbon - the pink and white polka dot bit
2 buttons
3 colors - my colours are maroon, pink and cream

Right, time for some breakfast I think....I've also got a lovely treat for my morning coffee today as I baked coffee cupcakes last night - yummy!

Have a fab day everyone and thanks for popping by!

Frosty the Snowman!

Evening All,

What miserable weather! Autumn is on its way...time to get cosy! I'm really not a fan of the colder weather...I really should move somewhere warmer! Still, if its starting to get colder that means that winter is on its way!

While I'm in a festive mood, here is a little Christmas card for you

Ok, I know this picture is a little on the large side, but I wanted you to see all the detail....I've used gorgeous blues and whites for this card to complement my "frosty the snowman" theme, but these gorgeous colours do not show up very well!

This card fits in with three different challenges this week:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - the lovely sketch
Bah Humbug - a Christmas carol or song
Winter Wonderland - a recipe - 4 papers, 3 snowflakes and one snowman (or woman)

The various DT have come up with some gorgeous cards, pop along to the blogs to see them!

I should be moaning about the weather really......on Sunday afternoon I'm flying out to Teneriffe with Becca for 5 days in the sunshine! I know I've had lots of mini breaks this year, but I'm really looking forward to going somewhere hot and just sitting and reading for a while!

Right, I'd better get going....I'm working on a Penny Black card for another challenge, plus I have a 4 year old custom Birthday card to make.

Distressed but simple!

Evening All,

Hope you're all well and having a lovely weekend. My Sunday has been wonderful...my sister and her hubbie came over to see me and we went to a local antique warehouse. It's a beautiful place called the Packhouse, and its full of gorgeous antiques and lushious interiors. I bought a fab vintage box handbag and my sister bought gorgeous vinatge champagne glasses. Poor Jim followed us around as we cooed at everything...he said he enjoyed himself, but I'm not too sure!

Anyway, today's card is for two different challenges....over at Secret Crafter we have Clean & Simple - they want to see simple, quick to make cards. Then the September challenge over at Sir Stampalot is "all distressed".

I've used one of my favourite sentiments, along with one of my favourite colours! This card is quick and easy to make - all you need is your sentiment and a selection of papers....the purple rectangles are cut using a guillotine and the cute spotty paper is torn by hand. I hand cut the shoes out of matching purple paper and then stuck it all together - easy peasy!

Check out the two blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards.

Right, I'm off to make some more cards, I need to add to my MISI shop...I'm feeling quite girlie, so I think there will be cupcakes and shoes! Watch this space!

Thanks for popping by,

All I Want For Christmas.....

......Hello there...are you today? Time for a another Christmas challenge I think!

The Challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is "Get a start on Christmas" and the Challenge on Winter Wonderland is "All I Want For Christmas". What lovely challenges!

I decided to go with a comtemporary feel for this card and used light shades of blue for my colour scheme. I thought for quite a bit about the Winter Wonderland theme....what do I want for Christmas?? There were so many things I could have put on my card, but I opted to go soppy! I'm a romantic at heart and I always look forward to Christmas with Joe....my thinking is warm winter nights snuggled up on the sofa, watching Christmas movies and drinking mulled wine. I always look forward to the Coke Cola Chritsmas advert too! Even when I didn't have a boyfriend I always thought of Christmas as a romantic time of year.

Right, its that time in the morning and work is calling....better get a move on!

Thanks for popping by today,

Celebrate in Style!

Evening All, Hope you're all well and having a lovely week....I love bank holiday weekends, don't you? It's already Wednesday evening! Woo hoo!

So, here I am with a card for two different challenges.....

I've used a collection of pink papers to create this Birthday card fit for a stylish friend. I've cut a little dress out of pink paper, wrapped it with ribbon and added a little sparkly gem for some glamour.

This card fits in with the "celebrations" challenge over at the Creative Cottage Challenge Blog. Whatever the celebration, the ladies at Creative Cottage want to see your cards! The DT have all created gorgeous cards for inspiration.

This card also fits in with the "Just One" challenge at Papertake Weekly - where there must be just one of something....it can be one colour, one image, one piece of paper.....anything really. As you can see I went with colour! Again, the DT have created some gorgeous cards to inspire us.

I'm on a bit of a mission at the moment....I really want to find a pair of jeans that fit me properly! I'm fed up of buying jeans that seem to fall down or that are just generally uncomfortable! So, I've decided to go on a shopping spree where I concentrate soley on finding the perfect pair of jeans! My poor sister has volunteered to help me...I think I'll have to buy her a nice cake and a cup of coffee in exchange for her assistance! Do any of you have a make of jeans that you'd recommend?? I know one of Girls Aloud travelled to America to find the perfect pair of jeans....I hope I don't have to travel that far! Although a shopping trip in America would be very nice!

Anyway, I'm off to make more cards. The stamps I won last week have arrived and I want to get stamping! Thanks Catherine - they're lovely.
