Digital Garden

Evening All!

I'm fresh back from a lovely weekend with my sister and her hubbie in Ledbury. It was a fantastic weekend...the weather was mostly good to us and Ledbury is a wonderful part of the world. So green and gorgeous...and full of tasty food! Hee, hee! Jim's family are lovely and looked after us very well. It was the first time I've seen their caravan park and I have to say its lovely. There is plenty of room, the facilities are brilliant and there is a wonderful lake to fish in or wander around. I feel soooo relaxed!

So, we got back a little earlier this evening and I thought I'd log on before I unpacked to see whether I could complete any quick challenges! Nothing like a bit of crafting to complete a lovely weekend!

I'm pleased to say that I found a lovely challenge over at Cupcake which is just perfect for this evening....their theme is Lets get digital. As you know I'm keen to use my new software at the moment, so I put it to good use. I used the theme of gardens/parks from the Allsorts challenge and came up with this....

I found the quote on the internet, I think it will make a lovely card for a gardener! All the elements are digital, but the colours are quite subtle and therefore it doesn't look that great on this post, but it works well when the card is in your hands....honest!

Take a peek at both blogs to see the gorgeous DT cards that have been created for inspiration.

Just a quick post tonight...I need some rest after a busy weekend! Thanks for stopping by today.

R is for.....

....a very cheeky Rudolph! Hee, hee!

Morning Everyone...I've still got this rotten cold! Thank you for everyone's well wishes. I'm hoping this cold will disappear magically overnight, I'm spending the bank holiday weekend in Ledbury with my sister and her hubby...yes, I know I'm playing gooseberry, but to be honest it never feels like that with those two. I'm really looking forward to it, so I hope I'm feeling a bit better.

So, whats this about a cheeky Rudolph I hear you ask...well the the current challege over at ABC Christmas Challenge is "R is for Rudolph". The DT have all created gorgeous cards featuring out favourite red nosed reindeer. Here is mine....

I love this design for Christmas cards, I used it quite a bit last year as I think the Rudolph looks fab peeking out of the corner of the card. I usually use a plain coloured background, but I decided to try a patterned paper this time and I think it looks good. I always add a little glitter glue to the nose to make it stand out a little more.

Right, I better get going...work is calling.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Buttons, butterflies and a cute sketch!

Hello there....hope you're well on this grey miserable evening!

Following on from yesterday's posts I can confirm that I do indeed have man germs! Its not fun, I feel rubbish...I'm off to bed in a bit! I decided I wanted a little crafty time before I crawl into bed however...so here is today's card...which if I'm honest I'm not too sure about!

I love this sketch - its the latest one from Sweet Sketch Wednesday - its nice to use and looks fab! Arlana has done a wonderful job as usual. Pop over and see all the gorgeous DT cards too. The digi stamp is one that I won during the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog anniversary celebrations - this little cutie is from Joni from A Sticky Situation. The thing I'm not keen on in this card is the colour scheme I've used, I also wish that I had made the sentiment stand out a little more...but never mind -shoulda, woulda, coulda!

The button and butterflies are for this week's challenge over at Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge - another blog that I've only just discovered. Again, the DT have created some gorgeous cards!

There are so many challenge blogs out there! Do you have a favourite one that you can recommend for me to try? As you all probably know I love challenges - they shove me firmly out of my comfort zone and make me use other colours in my creations...not just pink and purple!

Anyway, my bed is calling....so I'll say good night!

Thanks for stopping by today.

A Blue Birthday!

Evening All....yes, me again...two posts in one day! There's no stopping me!

I got home from work this evening and decided I wanted to do some more challenges....so here I am! My lovely boyfriend has been sick this weekend...I put it down to man flu and he is feeling much better today....but now my throat is starting to feel a bit sore! I really hope I haven't caught man flu...there's nothing worse apparently! Hopefully a nice early night will make me feel better!

So, here is this evenings card:

My camera hasn't done this card any justice really, on here its looking a bit bland, but its quite pretty in real life...honest! So, this card is for three different challenges:

Papertake Weekly - it's recipe time - 3,2,1
ABC Challenge Blog - B is for blue
Paper Cutz Challenge - Anything goes!

Paper Cutz is a new blog that I've discovered, so I thought I'd join in the fun! My recipe for Papertake is three buttons, 2 shiny sticky gems and 1 brad. Papertake wanted our project to be at least 80% blue...I have used a little green and yellow, but apart from that its blue all the way! All three blogs have some gorgeous DT examples for their challenges - take a peek!

Right, I'm heading off now...no more posts today I promise!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Blue and Green should never be seen....

...what a load of rubbish! I've always thought that saying was nonsense! My mum says it quite a lot and nothing delights me more than making a blue and green card to annoy her! Hee, hee!

Funnily enough I showed my mum this little card and she didn't comment on the colour scheme!

So, why a blue and green card I hear you ask....it's the theme over at Cupcake Craft Challenge blog this week! Check out all the gorgeous DT cards by popping over to their blog!

This is slightly different to my normal cards as I've used a scrapbook software programme to design it. Its new software that I've bought and I'm only just learning all the brilliant things I can do with it, so I thought I'd have a dabble and see what I could create. For this card I've used a green background, and put a strip of light blue across the bottom. I've used three light blue circles, two of which have images in and one has the sentiment. I've then used the blue glitter glue "brush" to add the strip across the middle (not as good as the real thing!). Finally to make it look more handmade I printed the two images out again and attached them to the front using 3D sticky pads.

I'm quite pleased with how the card turned out. However, I don't think this will replace all my traditional card making techniques because its not as fun to do....but I can see the appeal!

Right, work is calling, I better get going! Hope you all have a fab day!

A tiny challenge!

Hello everyone, hope you've all had a lovely weekend!

I had a fun weekend....I decided to get my sewing machine out yesterday and try and make a dress that I bought the pattern for weeks ago. It was a "very easy" pattern, with only one hour of sewing...ha, ha.....one hour of sewing if you know what you're doing! It took me a lot longer and its still not finished, but it fits and I am very proud! You can't really see from this photo, but the dress actually has pockets!

I need to redo the neck, which I messed up and I need to make a belt for it. I probably won't wear it anywhere, but it was a good practice project!

I am also very excited because I've won some blog candy! Do you remember me telling you last week that it was Cupcake Craft Challenge's 2nd Birthday? As well as the challenge there was a blog hop and each blog also had a candy prize...well I won some gorgeous stamps from Catherine's Corner! Thank you cupcake ladies for the blog hop and all the lovely prizes!

Right, on with my challenge for today....this time its a tiny challenge set by the Allsorts blog....they want projects that are no more than 3in in size! The DT have all created gorgeous minature master pieces!

Here is mine.....I decided to opt for a tag. I've used two different shades of pink card, along with some gorgeous backing paper. I have cut the birds out again and mounted them using 3D sticky pads to give them a lift. I've then added some tiny glitter dots for some added glamour. I punched a hole in the top of the card and threaded some pink ribbon to complete the tag. Teeny, but cute!

I'm going to get on with this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge next....they've asked for blue and green projects.....pop back tomorrow to see what I come up with!

Thank you for stopping by today.

Exciting News!

Afternoon All, I hope you're all well and are having a good day!

I still quite can't believe what happened to my friend at work today...we'd popped out for some lunch and were walking back to the office when all of a sudden someone decided it would be funny to chuck a water bomb out of their car windown as they drove passed! It hit my friend Becca, soaking her all down one side and causing a nasty red patch on her arm! Charming!

Anyway, I am soooooo excited! I'm featured today as Designer in the Spotlight over on the Winter Wonderland challenge blog! The theme for this week's  challenge is Winter Wonderland and here is the card I made:

I applied about a month or so ago and I am so chuffed that the lovely Winter Wonderland ladies picked me to appear on their blog - thank you ladies! Check out their gorgeous DT cards for other winter wonderlands.

My card is made out of papers from my stash. I started with the blue starry background and built up the scene from there. I layered silver and white papers for the hills, then added some green spotty trees and the big moon in the sky.

I'd also like to enter this into the Bah! Humbug! challenge this week, which also happens to be "winter wonderland"....spooky! Again, the DT have created some gorgeous cards, go take a peek!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today....take at peek at the others that I've mentioned too....and watch out for water bombs!!

Christmas Cheer

Evening All,

Hope you are well and looking forward to the weekend! I thought I'd aim to get a card posted early this evening rather than at gone 11pm when I should be winding down!

I've used a fab sketch provided by Sweet Sketch Wednesday for my card today.....

Its a lovely sketch thats looks brilliant when finished, but was actually quite easy to put together. The main inspiration for the theme came from the Creative Cottage Challenge blog....can you guess the theme?? Yes, it's Christmas! I've used very traditional colours for this card and I didn't need a sentiment as my backing paper has my message on! My poinsettia trio in the corner is inspired by Die Cut Dreams who have called for poinsettias in their challenge this week.

If you are stuck for ideas for any of these challenges pop by the different blogs and see what the brilliant DT came up with!

Right, I'm being spoilt this evening....mum is cooking dinner for me....I've got meatballs and they smell wonderful....I'm off for some dinner!

Thanks for popping by today, see you soon!

Lots of Ribbon!

Me again...told you I was going back to my craft desk! I wanted to enter this little creation quickly before I forget and miss the deadline! The lovely ladies at Winter Wonderland have set the theme of "Tags" for this weeks challenge.....

I decided to keep it simple for this one....I seem to like simple at the moment! I have used olive green card for the base, topped with some Christmas paper and a Christmas pudding topper. I've punched a hole in the top and added some red ribbon to finish the tag off.

It was when I started looking for the ribbon that I ran into problems....I'm a hoarder....a really bad hoarder! I love colleting craft items for my stash...buttons, toppers, papers....my desk is usually a mess! I looked in my ribbon box this evening and decided that I probably need a proper clear out...I didn't realise I had got so much ribbon! Whoops!

Anyway, the ladies at Winter Wonderland have all created gorgeous tags for the challenge, take a peek at their blog to see them all.

I've just looked at the clock and realised that its passed my bedtime! I need my beauty sleep so I'm off to bed now!

Thanks for stopping by!  Wedgie xxx

A little Glitz!

Ohhhh...I've had such a lovely evening! I've been grumpy all day (not sure why and I really should say to my poor work colleagues who had to put up with me!) and so I decided to come home and make some cards. A couple of people have asked me to make them cards for them and I bought a craft magazine today at lunch....so with lots of inspiration I got to work!

I think thats the thing I love about card making the most.....it's soooo relaxing. I can get lost for hours at a time trying out new techniques, making some old favourites....rumaging through my stash!

I also had time to make a card for some challenges.....

I decided to use the lovely sketch given by Papertake Weekly this week....its nice and simple....I like simple sketches!

The flower is from the craft magazine, made using an accordion-fold on a long strip of coloured paper. You secure it at the back with a little bit of card, which also helps you stick it in place. It was a little fiddly, and you'd need an expanding envelope to send it, but I think it looks great.

You'll note I went down the girlie route for this card! I love that spotty ribbon! I've added glitter around the sentiment and glitter on the centre of the flower. There is also a sequin sewn onto the ribbon. All this glitz is for the latest challenge at My Time to Craft where the theme is Glitter and Glitz! We all know I love a little bit of glitz!

Take a peek at both blogs to see all the gorgeous DT cards!

Anyway, I think I'm going to head back to my craft desk and get a few more cards made...there are lots of Christmas challenges out there at the moment!

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment to let me know you've visited and I'll pop by your blog to say hi!

Happy 2nd Birthday Cupcake!

Morning All!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend - thank you to everyone who has stopped by and wished me a lovely mini break - Germany was lovely! I love both the Rhine and the Mosel valley, and this break didn't disappoint! I ate fab cake, drank gorgeous local wine and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. I visited Koblenz on Saturday...I haven't been there in about 4 years and look what I found....

...can you guess what I'm standing outside and what I dragged my poor sister around?? Yes, thats a craft shop!! A really good one too! I caouldn't believe my luck!

If you ever get the chance to visit this area of Germany I'd really recommend it...and if you do go get in touch with me first and I'll tell you where all the fab cake shops are!

Anyway, onto today's card....as you'll notice from my post title it's Cupcake Craft Challenge's 2nd Birthday! Happy Birthday ladies! I love the cupcake challenges each week and they have a very talented DT. It was sad to see Donna step down a couple of weeks ago, but I'm sure the blog will carry on her fab work.

Anyway, their challenge this week is "All the Twos" and they have asked for projects which include 2 papers, 2 ribbons and 2 flowers. If you get a bit stuck take a peek at the gorgeous DT cards.

Here is my card, which I am also entering into this week's challenge over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge...can you guess their theme??

No, its not pink or butterflies! It's "What little girls are made of"...they wanted girlie cards and I definitly think this fitted the bill! I've used two pink papers, along with two gorgeous ribbons. I've used a pre-printed sentiment in black to make it stand out from all the pink and I made two punched flowers with sparkly centres.

Cupcake also have a fab Birthday Blog Hop...I'll be joining in after work tonight!

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a good day!

Q is for.....

....quick and easy! Perfect for an early morning challenge!

Morning everyone....another grey morning greeted me when I drew the curtains this morning! I was also greeted by this week's challenge over at the ABC Christmas Challenge...which is Q is for quick and easy! As well as the letter, there is an optional sketch to follow along with the request for multiple cards. I've opted just to follow the main challenge, but take a peek at all the gorgeous DT cards...there are loads!

I've used this format recently on a Birthday card, but this goes to prove that it works well for any sentiment! I've stamped the sentiment with some gorgeous little stamps and then added some holly which I made from paper scraps. A little bit of glitter added some sparkle and here you go....a very quick and easy, but stylish Christmas card!

As well as this card I've also managed to pack a bit for my weekend trip, so I'm starting to feel a bit more organised now! I'd better get my stakes on though, work is calling!

Thanks for popping by today and I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Birthday Wishes for Ewe!

Evening All,

Wow - not sure what's happened to my week this week! I'm off to Germany on Friday and I still haven't packed! I've got a full day at work tomorrow and then Lorna is picking me up straight after work....I really should be ready to go...but no, I'm sat here at gone 11pm blogging!! There's no hope for me!

This will have to be a quick post! I've got a card that I'd like to enter in several challenges:

The challenges are:

The first two challenges are obvious...the Papertake probably not so! The challenge said we could use the saying how we wanted in our creations....so my old is the image (it's from a CD I've had for years), my new is the sketch....I didn't manage to put a "borrowed" item on the card, but my blue is the colour theme!

All the challenge blogs have gorgeous DT cards this week - pop along to see them all.

Right, I said this would have to be quick....I'll be back soon!
Thanks for popping by today,

Oh la la!

Evening Folks! Hope everyone is well this evening...what a horrible grey day its been! I opened the curtains this morning and after looking out all I wanted to do was crawl back into my bed! Yuck!

I've got something a little saucy for you this evening! Well, its actually a very sweet sentiment and one that I've used before...but the card features a lacy bra and therefore is probably the sauciest thing to feature on my blog! Hee, hee!

So you might be wondering what my lovely bra card is in aid of.....can you guess the challenge I am entering this in?? It's actually for this week's challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenges where the theme is lace! You should take a peek at all the gorgeous cards the DT have created.

For my bra card I have used a black and white spotty backing paper - I just loves spots! I created the sentiment on my computer. The bra is made from scrap paper, some lace trim, a little sticky gem and straps made out of ribbon! I've also added a little bit of the lace to the card for extra glamour. A lovely card to tell a friend how much they mean to you!

Right, I'm off to cook some dinner now...the lovely Joe is waiting for some chicken and chorizo!

Thanks for stopping by today!

It's a man's world!

Right...I'm back...the card was actually near enough finished!

So, the challenge set by Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week is "It's a man's world", as you know I'm not keen on men's cards....I can't really use pinks on them! However, whenever I come across a challenge for a man's card I try to enter because as we all know....practice makes perfect! If you're stuck for ideas take a peek at the blog and see the gorgeous DT cards!

You'll no doubt recognise the image as I've used it before. It always reminds me of my boyfriend, so I love using this stamp! I was tempted to add a pair of glasses to make it really look like Joe...but I didn't want to ruin the card with my doodles!

I've opted for a very bright colour scheme as you may have noticed. Not only does this make it a very lively, fun card...but it also fits in with this week's challenge over at Allsorts! Their theme this week is primary colours....and they asked that we used a minimum of two...so I went the whole hog and used all three! If you want to see other cards using the primary colours, take a peek at the gorgeous DT cards over at Allsorts.

I'm pleased to tell you all that I am loving my new laptop, I'm amazed at how quickly it zooms about the web! So no more moaning from me about slow computers...my friend Sheree will be pleased if she reads this!

I'm also very excited because this Friday I am off to Germany for a long weekend with my lovely sister Lorna...we're off to see the Rhine in Flames, an event that I love. The Rhine in Flames is a summer long celebration that takes place in the towns and villages on the banks of the Rhine. There are amazing fire work displays and of course gorgeous german wine. I'm a huge fan of German wine (very unfashionable I know) - I'm sorry that its not well represented in the shops here...but at least that gives me an excuse to go on a trip! Hee, hee!

Right, I'm off...I woudl say I'm going to try and get an early night, but since I'm already sat at my craft desk we all know thats a fib!

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peek at my cards.

Take a peek through a christmas window.....

....and what will you see??

Hello everyone, hope you're all well and had a lovely weekend. Mine was nice, uneventful, but fun! This evening I have a little Christmas card for you....I haven't been very good with my christmas challenges over the last few weeks so I decided to crack on and get at least one finished!

Now the main inspiration for this card is the challenge over at Bah! Humbug! this week, where the lovely ladies have asked for a project featuring "through the window". What a cool challenge! The DT have created some lovely cards - go take a peek!

Here is my window scene....

As you know I love easel cards and luckily enough the challenge over at Winter Wonderland is an easel card with sparkle and shine! The ladies have created some lovely cards this week, take a peek! I managed to make mine so shiny that I couldn't take a decent photo without the flash ruining the image slightly - still I hope you get the idea! I've used a selection of patterened, coloured and shiny papers and card to create this window scene. My scene outside the window features two images that I got free with a craft magazine - I never know how to use these when I get them and usually end up with loads of them! So hopefully I've used them well this time!

I've been looking for other Christmas challenges this week and come across two other blogs that I'd also like to enter this card into. There is ABC Christmas Challenge a fortnightly challenge blog where the current theme is P is for presents with the added option of lace....if you peek out of my window you will see lots of lovely pressies waiting to be delivered! I have also found Die Cut Dreams, which is another weekly christmas challenge blog. Their theme this week is snowmen.....I'm hoping they'll let me enter this card even though my snowman isn't that obvious! You should take a peek at both of these blogs for gorgeous cards!

Anyway, I think I'm going to post again with another card in a bit....I've been busy creating a manly card for another challenge, it just needs finishing and then I'll back be!

Cupcakes!

Ok, I know this is my second post tonight...but a yummy cupcake that I ate earlier inspired me to finish off a project that I had been working on....

I wanted to create a fun, bright card using these cute little cupcake images that are from a Creative Cottage digi kit. As you know I love easel cards and I have used this sentiment more than once before, and I was keen to use both again! I've used coloured and patterned papers, a little acetate, the printed sentiment and a button as well as the digi images.

This card fits in with three different challenges:
The Creative Cottage - Acetate - my acetate is used over the mini cupcake at the bottom
Cute Card Thursday -Whateva - any theme goes!

Three fab challenges - take a look at all the gorgeous DT cards that have been made!

A bit of Birthday Bling!

Woo hoo! Look at me...well I know you can't actually look at me, but you can imagine me! I've got my shiny new laptop! Its so fast, its brilliant! I have to say I'm not exactly a techno savy person, but I thought I'd be ok starting the laptop up for the first time on my own.....little did I know they'd hide the on button from me! Ha, ha! However, after that minor delay I was away!

So, I've got a Birthday card for you that I'm entering into two challenges tonight:

This is a very simple card for me, but I like it! All I've used for this card is a white card blank, a stamped sentiment in black ink, some punched pink flowers and some gorgeous shiny gems. This fits in with the following challenges:

Simple yet still girlie I think! I liked using only two colours for this card and I think white and bright pink work really well together - all the white also shows off the bling nicely! Right...I'm off to play with my laptop some more, I've got some fab scrapbook software to experiement with!

Don't forget to take a peek at all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created for these challenges!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Dresses and wheels!

Evening All - a bit of a late one from me this evening, but its been an exciting evening and now I can't sleep! I found out that my new laptop is on the way...in fact it should be with me tomorrow! Woo hoo! Plus I booked my holiday with Becca...we're off for five days in sunny Teneriffe in September! Because we are only going for five days we decided to treat ourselves and we're staying in a lovely hotel! I can't wait! I've also just spent a lovely weekend with my gorgeous boyfriend Joe...with not a car in sight! We celebrated three years together this weekend with a mini trip to Marwell Zoo. It was a lovely break, the weather stayed nice, my knee didn't play up too much and I had Joe all to myself - bliss!

Right time for some cards......

So, in my excitment I decided to look at all my favourite challenge blogs and get some cards made! Over at the Allsorts Challenge their theme is "Dressing Up".....you can create anything that features dressing up from fancy dress to a posh frock for a fancy event. I decided to go with the posh frock option....

I think Birthdays are definitly the time to celebrate in style, so I created a little black dress out of paper, with a ribbon belt and a tiny pair of killer heels! I steered away from my usual pinks and purples for this card and instead opted for a smooth greeny-blue colour scheme with swirls for a bit of glamour!

Take a peek at their blog to see the gorgeous DT cards!

The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week has the theme of "hot wheels"...they want to see projects featuring wheels. I love making cards that feature cars...I've made so many different ones before, many of which I have shared with you already. Today I decided to try something a bit different.......

....yes I made a fab yellow camper van! I've made this based on an image I found on the internet, using papers from my stash. I thought the cute daisy backing paper finished this cheerful card off perfectly!

The DT have created some lovely cards, take a peek at their blog to see them!

I hope you like my latest cards, as always I enjoyed making them...though I'm not sure whether I'm ready for bed yet! Thanks for popping by my blog today!
