Handmade Flower!

Me again! Two posts this evening! I've just thought that I probably won't get a chance to post again until after the bank holiday so I thought I'd post another challenge this evening......

....over at Cute Card Thursday they have a lovely challenge this week where they want to see cards featuring something we've made ourselves. The DT have created all sorts of cards with lovely handmade embellishments, take a peek here to see them.

For my birthday I got a fab craft book that demonstrates all kinds of craft techniques.....one of my favourites is beaded flowers. I've made flowers using seed beads and wire before, but I only managed the outline. This book showed me how to create the actual petals! I've made a really small flower that I thought would look quite cute on a card, so I gave it a bash and came up with this.....

My fab brother-in-law tried to fix my scanner this evening, despite all his efforts its still not right and so I've resorted to my camera again this evening.....hence the funny pink tone to the picture!!

Once I got the hang of the threading, making the flower was quite simple and I think the end result looks quite good. I've used a selection of blue papers for this card and I coloured the image in using my watercolour pencils. The sentiment is a stamped image and I added some sticky gems to the top corner because it looked a bit empty!

I've had a lovely evening - whilst Jim was fixing the computer, Lorna and I iced some cakes that I'd made. I got icing equipment for my birthday so we decided to try it out!

Here are the results....our mum took this photo and it took several attempts and lots of laughing to get this one! Lorna is holding some coffee cupcakes and I've got some lovely vanilla ones in my sticky mitts!

Anyway, I can't believe how late its got.....I'm off to bed now!!

Thanks for stopping by....hope you have a lovely weekend whatever you're up to!

Going round in circles!

Oh my goodness! I have just spent the last 20 minutes trying to leave a comment on the Creative Cottage Blog!! Goodness knows what my computer is up to at the moment, and I don't know how many times I submitted my comment....sorry Tracy!! I was literally going round in circles! This is rather fitting really considering the theme for this week's challenge at Creative Cottage is circles!!! Ha, ha!

The lovely ladies would like to see projects that include circles and the DT have come up with some wonderful creations....you should really go and take a peek! While there you should also hop over to their main blog to see the new kit they've just released...its so cute....it features baby Ellie and family.

Here is my card for the challenge:

I've used a pre-cut flower shaped card, along with a selection of papers from the Creative Cottage, a pink pencil, a pink sticky gem and some pink glitter glue....I should have entered this in a pink challenge really!!

I started by colouring the edges of the card in pencil, I then cut out some pink patterned paper in the shape of the flower and attached it. Next I punched five circles out of another piece of patterned paper (which features more circles!) and stuck them in place before adding my flower centre. I used a sticky pink gem in the middle and dotted the glitter glue around the petals for added sparkle.

I learnt something new today.....I've always wondered what colour bra is best to wear under a white top...black and white bras both seem to show through the top! This morning I tried a grey bra (I bought it grey honest, it wasn't a washing accident!) under my white top and I was amazed that this was perfect! Nothing showed through at all!! Thats my top tip for the day!

I'd also like to recomend something that I've recently discovered...although if you like them as much as I do you might not forgive me for the recomendation.....Cadburys caramel buttons are gorgeous!! Like giant chocolate buttons, but with some gooey caramel in them too!! You might have to give the packet to someone else to look after though as they are very moreish...or maybe thats just me!!

Right, I'd better get going...I'm cooking dinner for my sister and her hubbie tonight....then Lorna and I are going to make cakes! Yummy!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Something Different

Evening All! Hope you've had a lovely day....mine was a vast improvement on yesterday!

My training was enjoyable and interesing....all about the impact that you have on others and learning ways how you can influence other people....it was aimed at the work place, but I'm sure a lot of it you can use in everyday life.

So with a refreshed head I took a look around blog world and came across a fab challenge over on Papertake Weekly....the lovely ladies are challenging us to do something different....what a brilliant challenge. They want to see us crafters using a fold or a technique or anything at all that we don't often do or have never done before. There are some lovely projects from the DT....a post-it note holder, a memo board, a gorgeous step card and a card featuring crackled glass to name just a few....take a peek here.

So I decided to use some of the outline stickers that I seem to have accumilated over the years, but never used! To be honest I don't really like outline stickers, I have no idea why....I just don't like them and so they lay forgotten about on my craft desk gathering dust! That changed today when I dug them out and created this card:

As well as a selection of outline stickers I have used black backing paper, some red patterned paper and some red handmade paper (another thing that I don't use very often!). The only other thing I have used is a little sticky gem on the flower.

I think the final result is quite good, but I still don't really like outline stickers!

On a different note I've been looking at the photos we took while at the Mandarin Oriental and thought I'd share this one of me with you all.....

...thats me in my plush bathrobe and slippers, sipping a glass of bubbly....the thing that makes me smile most about this is what I was watching on TV at the time......some Create & Craft TV! Ha, ha! How sad am I??

Anyway, thanks for stopping by today....I'm off for some dinner and some prep work for Brownies tommorow....we're got pack holiday coming up really soon and I need to get my activities organized!

Another day!

Morning all....no moaning this morning I promise! After I logged off last nighe I decided to go and make a new card to soothe my nerves...that and a good night's sleep seem to have done the trick! Here is the result....

This cute little card was created to fit in with two challenges this week.....

First off we have the distressed challenge over at the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, it can be any kind of distressing technique...I went for my favourite paper tearing! The DT have created some wonderful designs to inspire everyone, take a peek.here.

The second challenge comes from Cupcake Craft Challenge where they are looking for projects that are not square....fab challenge!! Take a look at the fab designs the DT have come up with. I was going to be clever and use a flower shaped card, but I couldn't decide how to decorate it last night and went for something simplier - a series of rectangles.....I just hope I get away with the little checks on the patterned paper!!!

This card was made with a collection of plain and patterned papers, along with a stamped image that I coloured using my water colour pencils. I also added a stamped sentiment, a piece of funky green ribbon and some sticky gems for a little sparkle.

Today I have a full day of training at work...its an impact and influencing course...sounds very interesting! I hope you have a good day, whatever you're up to!

Thanks for stopping by today.

I am having a rubbish day....

....is it bedtime yet?? It must be nearly time to go back to bed and escap[e this truely rubbish day!! Its been one of those days today when I felt like the whole world was aganist me in one way or another....nothing was easy, everyone moaned at me....and I can't even get a decent picture of my latest card on my blog!!!!

Right, moaning over with (for the next couple of minutes at least!)....I found a truely wonderful blog today...its called Bah! Humbug! (fits in with my current mood perfectly!)....each week they set a different themed chirstmas card challenge! If you enter cards throughtout the year come Christmas time there shouldn't be a mad dash to make Christmas cards...you will already have a fab collection!! What a clever idea! The lovely ladies also provide inspiration in the form of lovely DT cards...you should really go and take a peek!

The theme this week suits me perfectly...this week they want to see PINKY-LICIOUS Christmas projects! Yep, you know me...I love pink! So, here is my card:

Sorry, this really is a rubbish picture! My scanner has decided it doesn't want to work tonight, so I took a photo on my camera...then the camera decided it didn't want to download!! Its taken me about 3 hours to get this picture onto my computer and now I've discovered its all blurry!!

See....I told you its been a difficult day!!

Anyway, I think I hear my bed calling, so I'm going to say good night to you all and hope that tomorrow is an easier day!

Thanks for popping by today and I promise I won't be so moany when you pop back next!

Something for the Girls!

Afternoon All! Hope you're all well today!

I've just come across a fab blog called Magical Crafts where they run fortnightly craft challenges, they encourage crafters who use all different techniques to enter their challenges. This fortnight's challenge is called "Something for the girls!", which I think is a fab theme! The DT creations are all so lovely, pop by here to take a peek.

I actually made the perfect card for this challenge last night, it all started with the sentiment which I thought was fab.......

Hee, hee! Now wouldn't you just love to get this card from your friend?!?

The sentiment was created on the computer, the backing papers came from my stash - I've got a new punch that I wanted to try out....I like the pretty edging it gave me. The bra is made out of patterend paper and I've added some pretty pink lace to the edge. I then made the bra straps out of ribbon!

I showed this to mum once I was finished and she just burst out laughing......at least I made her smile!

The weather forecast is still looking good for the weekend....I feel so sorry for all those runners on Sunday....I think they'll be having a rather hot run this year! If anyone reading this post is taking place in the marathon I wish you all the best - I hope you enjoy it! I haven't run in so long now!!

Right, thats all for today.....thanks for popping by!

Look at my new stamp....

....do you remember that some of my cards appeared in the craft magazine Papercraft Inspirations earlier this year?? I was really pleased when I opened the pages and saw my own creations staring back at me! I'm even more pleased now because my prize arrived! I won some flower shaped cards, some watercolour pencils and the cutest little sheep stamp from the Hugs & Honey range.

Of course I had to use the stamp straight away and here is the card I made:

I've used a sketch from the latest Truly Scrumptious challenge as the basis for this card. The sketch is the main part of the challenge, there was also an optional challenge to have a theme of "april showers"...but I really wanted to use my new stamp and couldn't figure out how to turn him into an april showers themed card!! The DT however have come up with some fab designs, with lots of april showers featured! Take a peek here to see them.

The two floral backing papers come from a selection that my friend Sheree got me for my Birthday, I've put them together with some plain blue and purple paper. The sentiment was created on my computer and the sheep is attached to the card using sticky 3D pads. The flowers are punched out of more of the plain paper and I added little gems for some sparkle. Finally I added some glitter glue down the side.

I can't believe that this time last week I was lounging on a huge bed in my gorgeous hotel room!! The last week really has flown by!! It'll be Christmas again before we all know it!!

I'm looking forward to this weekend, the weather is supposed to be lovely....I'm going to read some of my new books in the garden I think!

Anyway, I'd better get going......thanks for stopping by today.

Going Green!

Evening all! I've decided to squeeze another post in today....I've just finished an evening with the Brownies and Guides, but before then and after work I managed to made a new card for this week's challenge over at the Creative Cottage!

I was so pleased when I popped over to their fab blog earlier and discovered that I've been awarded their favourites badge again...you'll see it's taken pride of place with my other one on my sidebar...its such an honour to be picked again.....a HUGE thank you to the all the ladies.

They've picked a fab challenge for this week...it's called "going green" and you can either enter cards that feature the colour green or that has something recycled on it. I decided to try and be clever and have both kinds of green on my card......

So, this little new home card features the sentiment and the fab little house from the Creative Cottage "Home Sweet Home" digi kit (I hope that I'm allowed that bit of pink, I think it looks fab aganist the green!!).

I've also used a selection of green backing papers, a piece of zingy green ribbon and a selection of green buttons....the buttons are the recycled items! Oh, and I managed to squeeze in a bit of green glitter glue too....I love a bit of sparkle!

The DT cards are all as lovely as ever, pop over to the blog and take a peek. There are so many different shades of green!!

Right, I'm going to go and put my feet up I think...my knee is playing up again and its starting to make me a bit grumpy!!!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog,
Wedgie xxx

Time for a quote!

Morning All, a really quick post this morning as I've just discovered a fab challenge over on the My Time To Craft blog - they want projects that feature a quote....and I love finding quotes for my cards! Here is one of my favourites......

I know this is a popular quote, but it also always makes people smile when they see it! You should pop over the My Time To Craft and see all the lovely cards that the DT have designed, they are all so different, take a peek here!

This was a simple card to make, I've used some fab shiny blue backing paper and topped that with that cute cupcake paper. I've used my favourite dotty ribbon underneath. The cupcake is made from scrap paper, and I added a little sparkle to my cherry!

Anyway, I'm off to work now....I'll be back later hopefully with my Creative Cottage entry for this week!

Thanks for popping by today,

How romantic....

....hello everyone...hope you've had a good day today....isn't this sunshine lovely...it doesn't have to be blazing hot....just the sun being there makes me smile!

So, I didn't really tell you that much about my Birthday yesterday....the hotel in London was amazing, I had breakfast in bed on my actual Birthday...something everyone should treat themselves to I think! I spent a lot of time with my lovely boyfriend Joe just relaxing...he is treating me to a lovely pressie this year...he's taking me to Cornwall for a long weekend in the summer and I can't wait! We can't have our usual week surfing together because of his stupid drifting competitions, but this way I still get to go to Newquay and hopefully my knee will be better by then and I'll actually be able to surf!! Its such a thoughtful present from Joe, I'm very lucky.

While I was in a romantic mood this evening I decided to create this cute little wedding card

This card is for two card challenges - the Papertake Weekly Challenge and the Bee Crafty challenge. Over at Papertake Weekly they gave us this fab sketch to play with. I love sketch challenges because everyone's designs are so different - take a peek at the DT cards to see what I mean! The DT designs are all so lovely, such brilliant inspiration!

Then pop over to the Bee Crafty blog where they are asking for designs for either a wedding, wedding anniversary or engagement....this fitted in perfectly with my romantic mood! This challenge has to include a digi image...I've used this cute wedding couple one from Bee Crafty. Take a peek here to see the beautiful DT designs.

As well as the basic sketch and the digi image I've also created my own little heart embellishment out of jewellery wire and some tiny pink seed beads. I've attached this to the back of the sentiment, which is attached to the card with 3D sticky pads.

The supper club was great fun yesterday, it was held in a local bar in Surbiton and I went along with my lovely sister Lorna. We had three delicious courses....although there were scallops in the starter and I hate scallops....luckily Lorna really liked them! Pudding was my favourite...a gorgeous creamy trifle - yummy!

Anyway, I'm off now...I want to watch Heston's amazing creations!

Thanks for stopping by,

More card challenges!

Evening All! I had such a lovely Birthday last week.....in fact I don't think I've ever had such a relaxing time! It was a struggle to haul myself out of bed to go to work this morning!!

A HUGE thank you to all my lovely friends and family who spolit me rotten!!

So, this evening I have two different cards for you, for two different challenges....each one has a different crafty technique on it....the first one is for this week's challenge over at the Allsorts Challenge Blog where they are looking for projects which feature stitches. The DT cards are all so lovely, take a peek here to see them.

My card features three button flowers, each head is two buttons sewn together onto the white backing card. I then stitched the stems using green thread before adding the green paper leaves. My scanner isn't the best and hasn't really done this card any justice as its focused on the buttons rather than the whole card.

My second card features paper cutting which is a new delight that I've recently discovered....and love!! It takes pratice and patience, but the results are well worth it! This card is for the Cupcake Craft challenge this week whether they have asked for red and white cards. I've tried to keep the card simple to show off the rose design.

The Cupcake DT have created some lovely designs for the challenge, take a peek here to see them.

Right, just a quick post this evening....Lorna is waiting is whisk me off to a local supper club and I'm running late - whoops!

Thanks for popping by,

Whoops....forgot one!!

Ok, you may have noticed that I'm not a year older yet....although I feel it thanks to my lovely computer....its driving me mad at the moment with lots of starting, stopping and freezing!!!!!! So, this is in fact my second post for today...to see my earlier cards please check out my first post!

So, in all my excitment earlier....or beacuse I'm loosing my marbles......I forgot my third card!!

I love making these "congratulations you passed cards", they are always so popular! For this one I've used an old road map with green backing paper. The sentiment has been made on my computer and I made the L Plate out of some scrap card. The image I've used comes from another fab blog I've found.....Mel Jen's Designs.....you should really take a peek at all the digi images on there! Each week the blog runs a featured stamper competition, which is easy to join and fun to do. I'll be entering this card into this week's comp!

Anyway, thats its for now...I promise!! I'm off to catch my train in a bit, will be back with a new card on the weekend.

Lots of Challenges!

Morning All - I'm packed and ready to go to London, but decided to get some more cards before I go!! I've spent some of my annual leave wandering around blog land and I've come across some more fab blogs and challenges.

First off there is the Sir Stampalot Challenge where they have a brand new challenge every month - the theme for this month is Fantasy. The prize is stuff of fantasy itself - the lucky winner will recieve a Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter plus a Pooh Font Cartridge - how fab is that?!? Pop over to the blog to see the DT designs for some inspiration. Here is my card:

I've never really done fantasy as a theme before, so I hope this is ok! The image is one I got from a recent image swap so I'm lucky to have it in my stash! I've used some pink embossed card as the background, which features some whimsical swirls! I've also added some fab lacy ribbon to match my faries dress and some sparkly gems.

The embossed card, ribbon and gems make it quite a tactile card......and therefore i would also like to enter into the Cute Card Thursday Challenge this week which calls for touchy feely cards! The DT have added all sorts of dimensions to their cards, take a peek here.

I've also found a lovely blog called the Papertake Weekly Challenge, you should pop over there and see the lovely cards they feature. They set new challenges every Tuesday...this week its called Cutie Pie and they are looking for cute images on cards. They have a fab DT creating for them, take a peek here. Here is my cute card:

This features a cute little puppy image and more of the Creative Cottage paper that I bought yesterday. I think the combination of colours and those dots makes it a real cute card....even if I do say so myself!! Ha, ha!!

Anyway, I'd better get going really....its my Birthday tomorrow so next time you hear from me I'll be another year older.....hopefully the wrinkles won't appear over night and I'm still asked for ID when I try and buy wine at the supermarket!!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a lovely day.

I'm dead chuffed!!!

Woo hoo! Evening all! As you might be able to tell I am a little bit pleased with myself! If you cast your eyes to the right you might notice a shiny new badge....yes, I was picked as a Creative Cottage Favourite for my buttons and bows card!! Woo hoo! A big thank you to the ladies over at the Creative Cottage, that really made my day! Click the badge to see the fab post!!

So, how does one celebrate?? If one is a crafter then one goes shopping!! I headed back over to the Creative Cottage Blog to hunt for some more stash to buy! You should check out their digi images...there are papers and sets....and they are all so gorgeous! I bought the "Home Sweet Home" because I loved the colours and the cute little birdie!!

The Challenge at the Creative Cottage this week is things with wings, so here is my card:

See........I told you that the birdie is cute!! The DT have created some fab designs with wings...take a peek here!

I have used some basic pink backing paper to start with, which I've topped with some of the fab dotty paper from the kit. I have then taken all the other elements from the kit, using some 3D sticky pads to give the birdie's wings and tail a lift! Also in the kit you'll find a little house and a mailbox.

So, I can't believe its Wednesday already...where is this week going?? Tomorrow I'm off to the Mandarin Oriental in London, I'm staying there with Joe for two nights of luxury and I can't wait....I'm very excited about this!!

Another thing I am a tad bit excited about is some experimenting that I've been doing with my hand drawn images....I do enjoy doddling and have used some of my scanned hand drawn images on my cards before. Today I took it a step further and created my first digi image.....its far from perfect, but I'm still excited about it! Here is a card that I've created using the image:

Yes, I made a cupcake!! The lines aren't quite as defined as I'd like them to be, but I am happy for a first attempt!

Anyway, I'd better go and get packing (yes, I like to leave things to the last minute!!). Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Under the Weather??

Hello there! Hope you're keeing well - thanks or stopping by! I've had a lovely weekend....I went to Silverstone with Joe for the first round of the British Drifting Championships. The weather was gorgeous.... I was there wih my sister, her husband and two of our drifting friends......it was lovely! Despite several mishaps Joe did so well......he came 16 out of the 32 drivers in the competititon.....I am sooooo proud of him! Our friend Ash did really well too, coming 18th. There are another 4 rounds this year which will take us all over the country....next stop is Wales!

Yesterday I went to Gun Wharf in Portsmouth with Sheree for some retail therapy.....I didn't buy that much really, but it was still a lovely day. Sometimes its just nice to window shop. I did of course manage to buy some crafy bits for my stash!

So, if you're not feeling so great here is a little card to cheer you up........

This simple get well card has been made using coloured paper and a little blue giltter glue! Its bright and cheerful and will hopefully make anyone who is feeling under the weather smile a little! I created this card for the challenge over at the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, where the theme is currently "Get Well". The DT have created some really lovely designs this week, to see them take a peek here.

Not much else to tell you at the moment really, can't believe its already Tuesday this week! Where is my annual leave going??? In the morning I am going to do some baking I think, followed by lots of crafting! There are cards to be made and I have quite a felt mascot collection going on!

Thanks for stopping by!

Mono Madness!

Afternoon everyone - what a lovely sunny day its been - its a shame I've been stuck in the office all day...still the bills have to be paid! I'm on annual leave next week - woo hoo! So I hope the sunshine sticks around for a while! Its my Birthday next Friday and I have rather self-indulgently decided to take the whole week off! Ha., ha! I'm going to Gun Wharfs Keys for a spot of shopping with Sheree and I'll be spending a couple of days in London with my boyfriend....if I can part him from his beloved cars that is!! The rest of the time will be spent crafting...utter bliss!

Today's challenge comes from the Cute Card Thursday blog....yes I actually managed to enter my card on a Thursday...it must be a first!! The theme this week is mono madness, so they want cards that feature shades of just one colour.....now you may think that mine will be pink....but no...I've opted for a lovely sunny yellow!

The DT have created some lovely designs, for some inspiration take a peek here!

Maybe its the lovely sunshine, who knows, but today I decided that yellow would make a lovely Birthday card! I've used a cute little chick stamp from the Hugs and Honey range, which I stamped onto yellow paper and cut out (if you look closely you can see my minor mishap - I nearly cut her leg right off!!). Once cut out I decided to add some googly eyes!

I then raided my paper stash for yellow papers and came up with these, which I think look cute together!

I have to admit my stamping wasn't very good today and I got fed up of stamping the same image over and over again....so I cheated! I took my best image and then coloured in the black with a pen! Hee, hee!

My other fab news is that both Lorna and me passed our leadership qualification last night! We had our books signed and the paper work is being sent off....we can now officially run our own Brownie packs / Guide units if we wanted too! Now thats a scary thought!

Well I hope you have enjoyed some sunshine today and have a lovely evening!

Buttons and Bows!

Afternoon! Greetings from a very grey New Malden! I've been doing some research at work today about cosmetic procedures and who offers them....I was quite surprised to learn that loads of dentists across the UK offer facial rejunvination in the form of botox and dermal fillers! Now thats what I call diversitising your business!!

Now, I've already told you all about The Creative Cottage Challenge blog, where they host fab weekly challenges, but did you know that they have another fab blog too?!? On the The Creative Cottgae Blog you can see lots of inspirational makes, plus you can buy some fab kits.....they also treat us to lovely monthly freebies...you should go and take a peek...click here to see more!

The challenge this week on The Creative Cottage Challenge Blog is to create something that includes buttons and bows, the DT have created some lovely designs, take a peek here to see them all. I've decided to use the freebie that they have kindly given us this month which features the very cute Holly the Fairy!

I've used the topper, the background paper, the cute little flowers and the lovely sentiment from the freebie for my Birthday card. In fact all I added to my white card blank from my stash was a piece of red backing paper, a little mini bow and two mini red buttons! What a fab freebie - thanks ladies!

I thought Holly looked so cute on her toadstool, so I kept everything else small and cute to match her!

I'm off to a Girl Guide workshop this evening, I'm in the process of getting my leadership qualification and I think I've taken too long....this workshop is to give me a shove in the right direction! So no more cards for me tonight!

I hope you all have a lovely evening, whatever you're up to!

All things bright and beautiful!

Evening all! I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend...mine was lovely and relaxing!

I should be watching that Sophie Dahl cookery programme right now, but thanks to my stupid computer I am still sat here desperately trying to post my lastest make! I can't understand why it chooses to be sooooo slow when I want to get things done!!!

Anyway, due to my lack of posts recently I seriously need to catch up on some challenges! So I decided to combine several of my favourite blog challenges into one fab card! I was so inspired by the garden shed cards featured in this month's Papercraft Inspirations magazine that I decided to give it a go myself...and made this green house card.....

Now this is a 3D card, decorated on the inside and out...it was therefore a bit diffcult to photograph...so please excuse the millions of photos!

This card manages to fit in with the challenges on three different blogs....first we have the Allsorts Challenge which called for projects that didn't use ready made design papers. The DT have created some fab designs, take a peek here to see. The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge wanted projects with garden related images this week, again fab DT designs - take a peek here! Finally Cupcake Craft Challenges wants projects featuring handmade flowers - click here to see the lovely DT projects.

I think this lovely card manges to cover all those challenges - no ready-made patterned papers were used in the making of this card - in fact I used a white card blank, some acetate and some coloured papers! All my flowers are hand made - punched from the cooloured paper! Finally I think this is a lovely garden scene.....I just hope the SCST ladies agree!

For the front of the card I drew out the windows and door using pencil and then cut them out using my fab new pink craft knife (yes I'm easily pleased!!). The door actually opens and has a little door knob! I backed the front of the card with acetate to make it look like there is glass in my windows! I had to remember to cut out the door! Once that was done I could get on with creating my flowers!

I cut out the shapes of vases and pots from coloured paper to use as bases and then I punched out pretty flowers using my mini punches. I used coloured sticky dots for the centres and I cut out little green leaves too. Everything was stuck in place using very, very small sticky dots!

I really enjoyed making this card, although it did take a bit of time...still thats even more staisfying when I had finally finished! I hope you like this card as much as I do!

I also wanted to share some makes from my talented friends! I'm really into making mini felt characters at the moment, and some of my friends seem to have caught the bug too! Here are some little characters that we've made recently....the cow is mine...my lovely sister Lorna made the super cute door mouse and the ever ambitious Becca made the fab Yoda!! I'm so impressed with them - well done girls! Becca has gone out and bought her own felt supplies now and is currently making the whole Star Wars cast...I couldn't be prouder!!

Pretty Pink

Stop the Press! I finally got a chance to look for card challenges and guess what the theme is this week over at The Creative Cottage.....I guess my post title kinda gave it away...but you're right...it's Pretty Pink! Now thats what I like to see....a challenge calling for cards which are pretty and pink! Fab!

The DT have come up with some lovely cards to inspire us...take a peek here.

Without further ado, here is my card for the challenge....

Right please ignore the dodgy camera images, because this card has beads on it I couldn't lay it flat in the scanner and my camera is soooo tempremental!!

I chose a butterfly theme for my pink card as I think butterflies are very pretty! I've used pretty flowered backing paper as a base, with a strip of pink paper on top of that. I've then sewn a purple button onto a strip of brighter pink ribbon and attached that too.

The butterfly wings are made out of paper, with two pink gems attached. The body of the butterfly is made using wire which I've then threaded 4 beads onto. I've attached the body to the wings using lots of glue!

The butterfly was folded in half when I cut out the wings, so along that line I applied glue dots to stick it to the backing paper. I've then used sticky 3D pads to attach the wings, giving the butterfly a fab 3D look, which I hope can be seen more clearly on my second dodgy photo below!

Finally I added my pre-printed sentiment and a line of gliter dots to add some sparkle!

I really enjoyed making this card....of course the colour scheme is right up my street, but I also enjoyed making the butterfly. I do like creating things out of paper....its cool to start with a pile of pretty papers and then after a little hard work you've created something new. I think thats why I like making my car cards.

Right, I'm off to make my pastel coloured turds this morning...fingers crossed they go ok!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Some fashionable baking!

Hello everyone - hope you're all well and had a good week.

I haven't posted in the last week because Dad's been back in hospital and its been a bit difficult to make any new cards or enter any challenges or get to my computer! However, the Easter weekend is here and Dad is back at home, so I have plenty of time to catch up!

No cards today I'm afraid, but I wanted to share a little cookery disaster I've had. I've found a very simple to follow recipe for macaroons which I decided to try out....we had some lovely ones at Browns on Mother's Day and my sister loves them. So I decided to give them a try.

I got the ingredients I needed and opted to make chocolate ones. Mum even took me out to buy a new piping bag....however I didn't look at the ends I got with the piping bag....and this is how my macaroons tunred out....

Yep, thats right...they look like a plate of mini turds!!!! Ha, ha, ha!!

I have to say they make look awful, but they were very tasty...even better if you can wait till day two to eat them as they got nice and chewy then! I can't believe how easy they are to make, especially when they cost so much to buy in the shops!

Apparently these are very popular at the moment....more fashionable than cupcakes! I've now bought some food colouring and flavouring...so I'm going to try again and see if I can make some that don't look like turds!

Wish me luck!

Thanks for stopping by...there will be cards next time I promise!
